Today I went to the Co op City branch. I needed a new debt card. I went to sign in. I met Ms. Rosa. As we chatted she took care of my issue without even telling me. She returned my ID s and went to get me a new debt card.
Rosa was a dream to work with ! Very personable and professional. She should be the model of customer service!

The wait times can be long depending on the day and time but the staff are very helpful, professional and Nice. Specifically Eric Addai. I came to open an account and apply for a personal loan. I had many questions and he was so patient with me and walked me through everything. He even followed up to make sure I got in all the needed documents. Definitely recommend speaking with Eric and this branch.

I had visited this branch two times in the past requesting assistance for utilizing and understanding my new debit, checking account, and credit card. For years I have been refusing to get these services, finally I decided to use them, but faced with many issues. On 9/10/2024, I had unpleasant attempts reaching customer service with the touch tone calling system. I was referred 5 times to 5 different people who didn t understand how to provide very simple basic information. I turned out solving my credit card issue with the store of purchase, but decided to visit the MCU Branch again for further clarification. I wanted to understand how to effectively use my credit card, debit card, and checking account to avoid reoccurring issues with my purchases. I received a representer name Mr. Joel Asare, and explained to him what had happen in the past, and what I did not understand about the services. Further explained that I will need to close all the accounts, if I cannot understand how to use the services appropriately. I cannot speak highly enough of Mr. Asare. My entire experience was fantastic, not only was he knowledgeable but he also took time to address all my questions and concerns about the accounts. He was very calm and exceeded my expectations. He was knowledgeable about all three services and politely explain how they worked, and linked with other accounts. Thank you very much Mr. Joel Asare. Thank you for all that you do! Your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to providing exceptional customer service are truly appreciated.

Horrible, I tried withdrawing money, The machines went down, and took my card. I was waiting for over 30 minutes for the machine to reboot and finally it returned my card. then it showed i took money out when the amount of money i tried withdrawing never came, but my account appeared as if i did withdraw it. I tried contacting a rep and I was unable to speak with anyone. I then attempted to file an online dispute and it indicated online dispute was down. Law enforcement even showed up and I had to explain the situation, Brinks was also there was nothing they can do because the office was closed. After Many years of being with MCU, i decided its time to say good bye and bank else where.

Its definitely better if you make an appointment. I honestly dont do much with the tellers. Make an appointment if you can to see the customer service people, if you dont youll be one of the angry ones waiting because they have to try to squeeze you in in between those who have scheduled appointments.

This is the worst customer service ever. Called and bout an activity on my account they said a member specialist will call me back within 24 hours. It s been 9 days and no call back plus I called several times and told them no has called me back what s going on. I can t believe this is a bank that holds your money and they can t answer any of your questions.

I had to visit this location to fix something and I was very timid at first since my last visit but, I can honestly say since then things have changed for the better. Aside from Eric having such a loving soul, his customer service was amazing. He was professional, courteous, and helpful. I visited MCU branch in co op city recently and was blessed and privileged to have Eddie Addai as my representative . Eddie displayed a sense of warmth and calmness about him. He was very assuring and positive as he guided me through the loan process which I was very hesitant about. He was pleasant and inviting as he displayed an air of professionalism, confidence and knowledge about what he was doing. Keep up the good work Mr Eddie. Job well done.

I want to express how pleased I am with the staff employed at the MCU branch in CoOp city in Bronx, NY. All the employees whom I interacted with, including those whom I observed interacting with others patrons, were polite, professional, and pleasant.I wish to make special mention of Heather, who went over and above her duty to ensure that all my needs were appropriately addressed and taken care of. She was kind,pleasant, and knowledgeable and made sure that I was comfortable and informed and all my needs met in a timely manner. Kudos to Heather and all the staff of the MCU branch office.

Eric is PHENOMENAL and great asset to this location. He s very knowledgeable in his craft, extremely patient, and more importantly, he s customer friendly. I entered the branch to finalize paperwork and unbeknownst to me, some of the information that was conveyed by another representative wasn t accurate. Eric stepped in, explained the discrepancies, provided a GENUINE apology, and was adamant about completing the process even if it required him staying pass his scheduled time (He worked until approximately 6:00). As a member for almost 20 years, this branch is by far the worst. You are never able to use the Mobile app for check deposits. So, I had no choice but to visit this branch. The ATM machine does not even work to accept check deposits. Stood on line for about 45 minutes to deposit 2 checks with a teller. At least the tellers will always have a job.

Extremely long lines on a Saturday. Not exactly the friendliest customer service either. The person who helped us today seemed like she didn t want to be there and that it was painful to help us answer a simple question about our account. Told us it was a 90 minute wait to see someone Suggested if we didn t want to wait, to come back on a weekday when it s not busy at 9am. Unfortunately, we can t just take off work to go to the bank. Person on line right behind us was losing his patience and yelled next!! as soon as it was our turn. The whole experience was not comfortable and you can tell the customers were all aggravated. I feel like closing my account because of this branch. Never ever coming back.

The institution is very unorganized, banking system is not up to date and not user friendly. There automotive system is very outdated. You cant pay auto loans over the phone using a debit card, if you set up automatic payments the withdrawal date continually changes or if you link an external account it never links to your MCU account. If 0 rating was a choice thats what my rating would have been. The people are nice but extremely slow service. Problems are never solved and new ones are created by the people that assist you. Be prepared to wait at least 2 hours to speak to someone in person or over the phone.

I m reviewing the overall company itself, not this branch. Customer service is a one star review. They don t help with anything. Every time I call them, my concerns never get resolved. They say they will transfer my call but they never did. The wait time to receive a transfer is ridiculous. They move slow in respects to everything. I will be going in person soon to close my account.

Receptionists at the front desk are always very angry. Whether it s in the morning or afternoon they are always angry at customers for absolutely no reason gives customers attitude which is so wrong and not welcoming. The light skinned receptionist used to be friendly but started to act just as nasty as the other one is. The customers are their to transact their personal transactions not to annoy y all. Management needs to address this asap as a lot of customers are having issues with those two very bad for business..

Please heed my advice. Don t joint this bank. They are truly financially exploitive of the black and brown people who mostly use their services. They easily take off NSF fees without any notifications, they delay payments that should be sent/returned back to your account, and the customer service support is poor/scant at best at returning your calls, and assisting you with your concerns. In fact, customer support does a great job at bypassing the responsibilities to a specialized agent or supervisor who never returns calls, and if they do, aren t helpful at all. I originally joined MCU because I wanted to be part of bank whose mission was to provide good services to the local community. Little did I know they would do the opposite. I closed my account little less than 3 years after joining, and a huge weight has lifted off my shoulders. I d recommend joining an online banking system like Capital One, Ally, or Fidelity for great customer support, higher savings interest rates, and better transparency.
