Mitchel did an excellent job helping my mom. He is 5 star. However Verve gets 3 stars for the not very good handling of my dad's accounts. Another employee earlier canceled my mom and dad's credit card and didn't explain to my mom what was going to happen with my dad, her husband's accounts.

I recently had a major issue with somebody hacking my account. I rushed to VERVE and was immediately helped by Dylan and Amara. They got on it immediately and resolved my issue. I walked in the bank in a panic and walked out so relieved and my problem taken care of. They were great.

*** update 10/19 - it has been 5 months and Verve still owes me $117.24
**update - waived late fee but wouldn’t waive interest because there was a “misunderstanding”**
For years I have have nothing negative to say about Verve. Today that changed. I attempted to make a credit card payment and now that the payment didn’t go through I am being charged interest and a late fee. I attempted the payment through the Verve app and was not given any red flags that’s it wouldn’t go through. I even called in and talked to a rep a couple days later who told me the payment was pending and that it would be effective the day I initiated it as to avoid interest and fees. Now, over a week later and after the payment still hasn’t gone through I was charged over a hundred dollars in interest and late fees. I called today to find out why and was told there was nothing they could do. I submitted a complaint on the website and got a call from a manager that said the daily transfer limit was less than my payment attempt and that is why it did not go through. She refused to waive the fees even though they had multiple opportunities to tell me the transaction wouldn’t happen. Instead they waited until the fees and interest were charged and are trying to strong-arm me into paying. I am still waiting to hear back but until this is resolved, these written statements are true.

Manager calls and apologizes and offers to set up notifications so I get notified when anything happens and I can dispute it then so I do. I get a notif of $500 I say no they respond my card will be blocked. I was up this morning to 3 transactions that went through and over 1000$ missing plus all over draft fees. I go in and they pull up the transactions and see these people tried a dozen more times and all were denied. So I say I’d like transactions reversed, a new card and OD fees refunded they tell me no that she needs to call someone (she’s the manager) to see if it’s real as if me and the teller didn’t show her the texts, transactions (denied and approved). She then went to find the call from when I called weeks ago to see if it’s real. Such a joke. I lost my money and this bank is trash and won’t fix it.

Tanis even made it possible to link all my accounts in one to make everything accessible by app. He even anticipated payment options id be taking in and made sure I had the right forms to fill out for the app to upload., Truly one of the best and easiest signups I have ever done. I cannot recommend them enough.

I cant stand this place. There are always 3+ employees standing around chatting. They move slowly to their desk to help the customers, all while being super unprofessional. Their lack of structure makes it super confusing when you walk in. They want it to feel like a cool, groovy place with homey vibes, but its a big turn-off for most people that I talk to about this place. They should just have stations with tellers at them so people can come in and withdraw or deposit their money. Also, it was a big disappointment to me that they went away from having people at the window at the drive-thru. It may sound like I am some old fuddy-duddy by my complaints, but I am in my 20s. Stop trying to be cute, and just be a credit union with smiles and good customer service skills, please. I will be closing my account here in the near future.

Helpful, efficient, kind. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE A POLICY WHERE PEOPLE TAKE YOUR PENS AFTER USING THEM. Collect them, wipe them down, and reuse. This was disappointing to think of ALL of the pens that aren t needed being dumped into the earth.

Been with Verve since they were Citizens First Credit Union. Yesterday I was randomly charged in excess of $300 to my credit card due to an error they had. Many of the charges were from months prior, and without any email, or call, or any communication, they decide to just take the $300+ and say NOTHING until we call and ask where our money went. This is unacceptable and Ill be filing a complaint.

I really liked this bank before it turned to Verve. Since their new app update, they now include pending transactions and will show what your available balance is. I had 2 overdraft fees because of a pending transaction that was on hold to come out the next day that I got paid. I have NEVER had that before and even though the person reversed the fee, she tried to tell me to have enough in my account. I had enough the prior day..Transactions werent to pull until the next day. If I get overdraft fees for future hold transactions because of your new system update, then I will have to move my account else where. I heard Chase Bank will pay you 100 to open up a new account with them. I get paid every Friday and since this pandemic, Ive been living paycheck to paycheck. I cant be having 32 dollar overdraft fees when my account is technically not even in negative yet. Since Verve, Ive had so many issues already and people have been ruder and not as personal as previous workers. The condescending replies from some of the females especially. The reason they have any stars now, is because their rates are competitive than other banks and will help with personal loans when you are in a bind but last time I asked for a loan it took 3-4 weeks just to go through and I had to contact them to find out what was going on. I was able to get a loan somewhere else same day. Definitely miss the old branch on Packer in Oshkosh. The old staff were amazing.

Their Online system is terrible. Zelle is also terrible. In order to cancel a Zelle, you have to pay $15. No one else charges that. Also you call them phone system doesnt take the digits to route and keeps in a dead cycle of phone. What a sham credit union.

We have had nothing but bad experiences with verve. We closed out our account after having nothing but problems with them. My wife and I both told them to close our account which never happened and they started charging us for not having minimum amount of money required in our account that was supposed to be closed. We got a letter in the mail stating that we can never be members again which isnt a loss for us, more for them. I wouldnt suggest anyone do business with this credit union.

This has been and continues to be the most difficult banking company I have used. As an owner of several companies, I have had very difficult time getting anything completed when I wanted a line of credit which took a very long time. Once I received my line of credit, it took me a long time to setup the online account to use my LOC. This has been so painful I cannot even begin to explain.

3. THREE seperate times this summer I have deposited money into my account to find the workers have put the money into a total strangers account. This is after I handed then my member card with all my information on it. Just recently noticed on 11/12/21 they put 2000$ into the wrong persons account. I understand mistakes happen but 3 times in a few months isAbsolutely ridiculous

I kept hearing good reviews about Verve, and I needed a credit union here in Wisconsin since my other credit union is in Red Wing, MN. So I decided to give it a go, and of course, shortly after joining, they changed their website, and now I have nothing but problems with logins. I have had to change my password a few times, and cant get it done correctly on computer, or phone calls. I always have to drive the 15 miles to get it changed in person. The last time I did that, I got out to my car after working with an associate to change it, and I had to turn around and go right back in because it was still locked up. Getting really frustrated with Verve. Cant even look at Instant Balance on my mobile account anymore. Have to go to an ATM, just to see my balance.

So hard to get a real person on the phone now a days. Sit on hold for ever then the auto answer says we can call you back later. If you do that they will call you after 5pm and cant do anything till the next business day.

Verve claims to be a small, community minded company, but theyve proven that they really are not looking out for the local community. They partner with out-of-state businesses to the detriment of local employers. Not cool.

I really like this new app update. I will admit, I struggled a little at first. My friends son, Bryce who works in the IT department was able to help me login. I was extremely worried at first, but I really appreciate him going out of his way for me after his shift and helping.

This honestly just deals with every branch that Verve has. One thing I miss is having Verve as my main banking place. I moved about a year ago, and my new town doesn t have a Verve branch. I ve always had outstanding service with Verve. I hope the company considers opening up a location in Wausau. I would instantly reopen my checking account.

After years and years of dealing with this particular location due to our business location in the outlet mall nearby, things havent improved in the drive up. No issues with friendliness etc. But..... do they have a poor training program or just hire on people who dont understand math/banking? For 11 years in my experience in this location. 1-2 times a week there are mistakes with simple change/coin orders. We ask for $200 worth of change, fives, tens, quarters etc. Something is often missing and we are short change, or we get the wrong amounts. Most recently and not the first time this has happened, a deposit has gone missing. Some of the drive up employees over the years have been so utterly confused as to what they do with a change order. Give them the bag, you get nothing back. Or they give you the change order, and you ask them dont you want our money for the coin order exchange? Over the years, every time pulling up to the drive up i see snacks, drinks all over the place on counters. I mean, is this what they do here? snack and have a party all day long while making continuous and consistent mistakes on a regular basis? Maybe if they focused on banking and depositing things in the correct accounts rather than what food/drink they are going to have piled up all over the place wed not see constant mistakes. There have been times where weve received no deposit receipts, other companies deposit receipts, sometime other companies deposit bags. But for 11 years, 1-2 math/money mistakes and other serious issues and concerns EVERY single week.. Makes me wonder just how much money customers lose. Then, to add to it, sometimes they close down for a day when normally open for training... a lot of good that does. I just dont know. Like i said, they are nice, never been treated poorly. Just they cant seem to keep anyone hired for long that knows how to do basic math, use common sense, or whatever else. Either way its a reflection on the bank/company and management. The only employee that used to work through the drive up that i felt was just truly awesome was Maisie. Sorry if i spelt her name incorrectly. Its been awhile since ive seen or talked to her.

Citizens First C/U was a cut above. They took care of their customers. I banked with Citizens First for over 10 years but its not a coincidence that when it switched to VERVE it took a nose dive. The one thing I can say; As far as convenience; they do have a brand new location on almost every city block, with that Ultra Modern met Willy Wonka look.

The woman I felt with, Geralyn, absolutely horrible customer service and rude. I had to change my name info cause I got married. Nothing but jumping through loops and questioned everything I brought in. Even questioned if I actually got married! And all the paperwork was already done I just had to sign it!!! I will never recommended this location ever again. Beautiful set up, service is horrible!

I started out with CitizensFirst after moving from Michigan to Oshkosh, and wanted to stay with a credit union. It was between them and another credit union, and inevitably went with CitizensFirst. They have been super helpful from the very beginning! I even convinced my boyfriend to switch to them after they transitioned to Verve, and its even better now since theres more accessible locations! If youre looking for a credit union thats helpful, and eager to find ways to save you money they are the place to go!

After relocating to oshkosh my wife and searched for a locale bank credit union and chose citizens first. Im Very unsatisfied with citizens first credit union. The loan/mortgage department is inept to say the least. Online banking site is a nightmare to use. No texting services for account balances which is feature I love. After switching over I decided toI remain with my credit union that is based out of western Wisconsin however my wife reluctantly still banks here.
