Joe from Guild crushed it after taking over the process from the previous lender with 11 days to close, we were being thrown to the wolves and being taken advantage of as first time home buyers. Joe was honest and communicated frequently, he didnt leave us hanging like the lying scum at CrossCountry Mortgage. A lower interest rate and lower monthly mortgage payment were a bonus! Bonus #2: we got a check back at closing, and still closed on the original date! My wife and I highly recommend Joe to everyone, you couldnt have a better experience after the nightmare we went through to figure out we needed to change lenders. Dont make the same mistake we did by going with whatever lender your real estate agent typically uses, just give Joe Long a call and you will never regret it! Thank you Joe & team!!!

Not only have I had many clients use Joe Long and his team over the years for home loans and rave about their experience, but they just helped with a loan for my own personal home purchase. I cannot recommend Joe and his team enough! It always stinks when you dont get updates....well Joes team called me each week, even if there were no updates to provide, just to check in and see if I had any questions or concerns. When I first met Joe, I was certain he was a kind and very considerste person, because thats what his job deemed necessary to be. They say when you meet someone new, that after 6 months they start to show you who they really are... Well, I worked with Joe for more than TWO YEARS, as my wife and I searched for our first home and I will personally attest to the fact that Joe just IS a kind, considerate and above all honest person. Guild is lucky to have him, and so are those who work with Guild Mortgage! Every member of his team that we interacted with was professional and patient as we navigated the twists and turns as first time home-buyers. My husband and I recently worked with Joe Long and his team at Guild Mortgage and we are very happy with the experience. We bought our first home and are very stoked to move in! Originally we were working with a local bank during our home searching but kept finding that every seemingly great opportunity for homeownership was passing us buy as homes were going pretty quickly (in some cases overnight) but getting a response from the bank lender and trying to find time to meet in person with them just wasnt working. We were referred to Joe Long by our Realtors and as soon as we started to work with his team we were able to get information on homes we were interested in very quickly which made it so easy to determine whether it would be worth seeing certain homes or not. We were able to text Joe long, call him, video chat every now and then and didnt have to wait for weekdays to hear back. His team answered all of our questions and really did a great job making us feel comfortable throughout the whole process of buying our condo.

Joe was extremely personable and knowledgeable and helped us find the best range for our budget. Anamika was extremely responsive, but I have to say that Gina went above and beyond time and time again for us. This review is long overdue, but in a nutshell, Joe and his team are an outstanding choice for your mortgage professionals! As first time home buyers, we met Joe in late 2019, and it was immediately apparent that he and his staff care very deeply for the satisfaction of their clients. We had no shortage of questions but were consistently given clear answers and immediate help. Joe also referred us to our real estate agent who was absolutely awesome to work with. The house we ended up buying had a very short closing period (about one month), but Joes team managed everything, and we were able to move in right on time! As a client, we continue to receive monthly updates from him regarding the value of our house and how the market is doing, which is also very helpful. I inquired about a pre-approval for a home loan through the Joe Long team as I have a close family friend who works there. It was definitely the best decision I made. My first initial contact was with Anamika, who was extremely pleasant to work with. She helped me get set up in the Guild portal, and walked me through what steps would follow in the coming weeks and months. Next, I talked with Joe himself to go over the entire loan process. He went over some numbers regarding my loan given the information I had provided. Again, Joe was extremely helpful, patient and kind during our conversation. Once we had found our house, Guild was patient with us as we had a longer than usual closing window. However, they still kept me updated and were still working on everything behind the scenes. We were eventually able to move our closing date up, but Joe s team immediately began working and had us all set to go faster than originally projected. I worked with Kii for the final steps of our loan. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He called and emailed numerous times leading up to our closing date, even on the day of to ensure all my questions were answered. Overall, the whole Joe Long team (Joe, Jed, Kii, Anamika, and Josh are who I had contact with) were extremely pleasant and they treat you with the highest respect. What I thought was going to be the most confusing process of my life was made incredibly simple. Before my first meeting with Joe I worked with Anamika (love her!) to get all of the documents needed for them to fully evaluate where we were at financially. They have systems in place that make this process smooth as silk and so easy to understand. Then I met with Joe in person and right off the bat he told me You can do this. You CAN buy a home. I went through Joe Long with waterstone mortgage 6 years ago to buy my first home and now im refinancing my home loan through them again this month. This was my second home purchase but my first on my own. Although I am in the Milwaukee area, I was so impressed by the initial consultation that I chose to work with this group despite that fact that they were out of the Madison area. Joe and his team were fantastic at educating me and being honest about my options. The constant communication and updates were a relief and made the process fluid. As compared to my first home purchase, it most definitely was a different experience. I was dealing with actual people who treated me like a person. I was very pleased with the experience and would highly recommend the Joe Long team!

It was a joy to work with Joe, Jed, and Gina. I found it refreshing to work with people who appreciated attention to details as much as I do. We will most definitely be working with this team again if and when we buy a new house.

The Waterstone team of Joe, Jed & Rebecca (and likely more) were great to work. Their communication was fantastic, keeping me apprised every step of the way. They worked with me on every little tweak or change that I requested, and went the extra mile on many aspects. Ill certainly recommend Waterstone-Madison to others in need of a lender!

Joe and everyone else at Waterstone made buying our first home a lot easier than we thought it would be. Joe explained everything during the application process in a thorough (and sometimes funny) manor, and made us feel super comfortable. He made sure we got the best loan and ratepossible, and that we understood everything about the loan. During underwriting, I communicated a lot with Jed and Rebecca, and both of them were wonderful while answering my millions of questions. Our closing with Joe took about 45 minutes, and was as smooth as could be. It was a really great experience working with Waterstone, and I will recommend them to all of my friends and family.

I met Joe Long in November, 2009. He was my mortgage broker when I purchased my townhome in Sun Prairie after being transferred from the Kansas City area. I must confess I was not a very pleasant or easy customer due to the climate of home lending requirements. Joe was always professional, never took my anxiety personally, and did an outstanding job to get me into my first home in Wisconsin. Recently, I decided to refinance my townhome and I chose Joe and his team. Joe and his team took GREAT care of me during my refinance. Joe and Jed exemplify professionalism. I trusted Joe to obtain the best mortgage rate, and my refinance experience went very smoothly. I highly recommend Joe Long for many reasons, especially for his outstanding work ethic! Joe Long and all the staff at Waterstone Mortgage made my first home buying experience proceed very smoothly. Joe truly cared, making sure I was comfortable with my monthly payments and answering my many questions. The communication from the office was great! I received a response to all my emails within 1 business day. This was very helpful because it prevented me from worrying about the loan during an already busy time. I would recommend Joe and Waterstone Mortgage to anyone.
