It costs a bundle to reorder checks!!!!

Unfortunately now you can’t get them to fix problems with their system, or get through to a live human being to help for anything.

My husband and I had the best experience with John Mai Tran. He was incredibly kind and patient! We had a lot of things to do from opening new accounts, closing old ones and transferring funds into my IRA. He made the process so easy. I highly recommend him to anyone needing BECU services.

I've been a BECU member for 3 decades or so. I like that my deposits are circulating back into the local community rather than extracted by a corporate bank with headquarters out of state. Credit unions are more equitable than corporate banks are with their excessive fees, predatory loans, etc. As a small business owner, I was disappointed to find out recently that there are no more deposit drop boxes in the Seattle area (only at Tukwila and maybe Everett?) and yes, the lines at the main office in Tukwila can be very long, but these are small matters compared to the benefits I receive at BECU.

After years of banking with BECU (10+ years) I'm done. Have had my account accessed by fraudsters several times, and have since moved away from the area so can't visit an in person location. Oh, if I could give them no stars. Ive been a loyal customer for 15 years. They have several of my business accounts, in addition to personal. Last night, I tried to pay one of my subcontractors, whom I have paid over and over through the same account for many years, and my card was blocked. No text or email, no notice. I called in this morning to find out why my card was blocked, and to unblock it. They said the reason that they blocked it was because my card was compromised but they have no idea where or when. In addition, they sat on this information for TWO DAYS without telling me!!! Not a text, email, phone call, message in the app... NOTHING!!! This institution is completely inept!!! I seriously hate BECU. Avoid them at all costs!

I dont understand why becu has a personal loan when I applied and they didnt approve it because my debt is high. I applied for a personal loan because I wanted to change my expenses from 5 bills to 2 bills. If they only approve people with low debt, why would they borrow money from the bank? Cant I just use credit to pay? Isnt that right?

If I could give negative stars I would. 14 years of Business I have fraud on my account. No problem, I close the old and open the new. Now all the problems begin. Each time I call the call center, different answers to the same questions. With plenty in the account to cover payments, they reverse payments to multiple sources. Every time I call its a minimum of 30 minutes. All bad happened after the new business account was opened. Peraonal banking, no issues. Business banking now being moved to another institution.

Im sick about their dishonest start from the Top to the down. I have a car loan with them, my friend is my cosigner he gave me all the permition to ask anything about the Account cause am the one who pay the payment.we came two times together and once by him self to discuss about Accessing his Account and they told us ok. When i come every time to pay i ask them to give me the balance left in that Account with the rised but they refused me many times. They told me you dont have any permition from him and they denied me from checking his Account. No more business with you guys any more after what i Experiencing with you all.

I have been banking with BECU for a very long time, and have wanted to keep my business banking with BECU, too. However, standing around waiting in lines that are over 30 minutes long to do my business deposits is totally not ok. I already go out of my way 20 minutes each way to bank with BECU to begin with. As a business owner, I simply do not have time to wait around forever like this. It s very sad to me that I will likely be moving my entire book of business - personal banking, credit cards, business banking, loans, joint accounts, and even having my partner switch, as well. There s no point in having some of our finances with one bank and the rest with another. To be fair, 30 minute waits as a regular banking customer is already way too long. But for a commercial customer, it s absolutely not acceptable. Every other bank I ve been with has had a separate line that was available to commercial banking. I have asked and asked for this, and I am kind of at wits end. PLEASE get it together and set up a separate line for commercial banking.

If they tell you to go to the drive up because there s no wait and it s faster, they are lying. It s impossible to find the entrance if you ve never been here, and as I ve been sitting out here for 25 minutes with my screaming kids, it s most definitely not faster. The line is all the way out to the road and there s two tellers handling 8 people at a time. This is the only bank in the south sound that handles cash. So it s a PACKED location at all times.

Transactions on BECU Checking account show 3 days late. They do not show pending transactions created on certain date, lets say 1st day. Instead, they will suddenly show transaction on the 3rd day in the name of 1st day transaction. Poor visibility on online payments via ACH. Other credit unions and banks do a better job of transparency. On top of that their customer support agent on messenger has no clue how their very own BECU works.

Terrible credit union to work with. Especially for business banking. Very limited in their capabilities to do anything in this technology advanced world we live in. They have no desire to work with customers. Other banks I work with are WAY better with customer service and helping clients find a solution. BECU IS NOT.

This place just gets worse and worse! Horrible computer telephone service. Tons of mistakes! It worked better previously. I dont know whats happened to the programming but its insanely ineffective.. I recently had a teller at the Tukwila branch who used so much fragrance/Essential oils that I have been unable to get them off, my drivers license and bank card physically, washing them in soap, Putting them in bags baking soda, Super hot water... Nothing has got that off my cards! In fact 40% of the public is sensitive to fragrance. Fragrances are neurotoxins(Brain damaging) And endocrine Disrupters (Hormone instability) . Just think of someone bringing that horrible product into a home with babies children and even their own body having to endure such toxic product. BECU: You need to have your staff fragrance free. Get educated and stop Poisoning the general public. I have a masters degree from the university of Washington, and I guarantee you what I am saying is true.

Wow. Banked with them for decades as my parents did as well. Moved my funds around without my authorization, and locked me out of my own account on top of that! And their customer service rep kept trying to speak over me. Their employees are very poorly trained because I keep getting told different things EVERYTIME. I am writing this complaint to express my deep dissatisfaction and frustration with the abysmal customer service process I recently experienced with your bank. As a brand new customer, I never expected to encounter such a disappointing situation that has left me feeling betrayed and mistreated. On November 14th, I applied for a credit card with BECU and was thrilled to receive an approval confirmation after a hard credit pull. The terms were enticing zero percent interest for a year, a generous credit line of $40,000, and a check guarantee card debit credit card for $15,000. Fast forward to December 18th I attempted to log in to the BECU app and online portal, only to find that I couldnt access my accounts. Alarmed by this, I immediately called your customer service helpline to rectify the issue and verify my login information. To my shock, the representative informed me that my accounts had been closed three days prior due to the Financial Crimes Department being unable to verify something. What is even more distressing is that, despite the gravity of the situation, I received no prior communication no phone call, no email, and not even a letter requesting any necessary information. This lack of communication is not only unprofessional but also reflects a blatant disregard for customer courtesy. I find it inconceivable that a significant action, such as closing an account, could be taken without any attempt to notify me, especially when I had just been approved for a credit card with substantial benefits. The consequences of this abrupt account closure are far-reaching and have caused me undue stress and inconvenience. I am left without access to the promised credit facilities and have been denied the opportunity to address any concerns or provide the requested information. I demand an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter, along with a clear explanation for the abrupt closure of my accounts without any prior communication. Furthermore, I expect a timely resolution to reinstate my accounts and honor the approved credit card terms that initially attracted me to BECU. If this issue is not addressed promptly and satisfactorily, I will be left with no choice but to escalate my complaint through appropriate regulatory channels and consider alternative banking options. I am very disappointed and disgusted with BECU thus far!!!! I opened an account with them because I was thinking that it would be good as its local to my community. I also heard that credit unions have some benefits compared to banks. I was very skeptical at first with BECU as I already have an excellent standing with Chase Bank. However, I went ahead and considered it and decided to open an account at one of their branches. Now, I see that this is where my mistake happened trying to become a member of BECU. After setting up my account IN PERSON, I went home and looked up their services and decided, why not, let me also apply for their LOC and credit cards as I am planning on traveling and I heard their travel perks are good and why not improve my credit utilization even further though I already have ample available credit and have excellent credit utilization. I filled out the forms and got an approval. I was thinking, awesome. It s been fast and easy. I mean I do have an excellent credit score. Oh boy, was I wrong. I got an email about 3 days later, and they re now asking for proof of address, my paystubs, tax returns, my social security card. I mean, all these documentations just for an account with them. I mean sure, I have all of those already on me. So I went ahead and emailed ALL of those documents back. I called to follow up a couple of days later as I have NOT heard back from anyone, and they told me I have to submit all of my documents now in person after all that! I still remained patient and went in one of the branches and IN PERSON gave them all of the documents. They explained the reason why they re doing this is because my phone number is a California phone number. Seriously??? I ve had my phone number for yeaaaars and I m not changing that for them so of course I have a CA phone number even though I have been physically living in WA. My tax transcript which I sent them even reflects that I filed my taxes here in WA with the address I provided them! Anyway, they told me that they are looking into it more and someone will be calling me back within the week. Which by the way, never happened! I had to call them back after a week to figure out what is going on and I was told they need more paystubs from me and seriously more invasive questions. I answered all of them but I m starting to feel really upset. Once again, they gave me the run around that they will get back to me. I checked my mail today and got a notice that they declined my application even after submitting to them everything they asked for, showing to them that I am me in person, answering all their questions, and them already running my credit. I called them, and they simply said the person who is handling my case is not available and will be calling me back. No Answers! How disorganized can they be??? At this point, I am livid! What else do they want from me, my DNA and blood sample??? I understand that investigations and fraud prevention are necessary. However, on my part after all I ve done, it should not be like this. This is beyond unnacceptable and disappointing. Their criteria is insanity. I have NEVER. Again NEVER! been treated like this by any other financial institutions. I m a nurse and I was going to recommend BECU to my fellow coworkers and colleagues but NOT after this experience. I have been treated like a criminal. I 100% do not feel like a valued client. Had I known it was going to be like this, I would not have tried to become a member of BECU. This has been the worst experience I ve ever had with a supposedly reputable financial institution. If you already have a good relationship with your current bank or credit union, stay there. I highly do not recommend BECU.

Awful handling of our auto loan--and we have credit scores well over 800. They have an old online banking system that makes paying simple loan payments complicated because they earmark funds in your account for the loan, making that money unavailable to you, even if you are making payments. This confuses their system, causing a difference in your account balance versus funds available for payment. Numbers have never added up. Ive had to clear this up more than once via phone, which is also a pain because they make you wait upwards around 30 min to talk to someone. They also do not offer auto-payment for loans, which is preposterous these days. Please learn from us and do a hard pass (which makes me sad be cause I always want to support credit unions--but this one has not earned our business). Incompetent.

I called to transfer a balance to BECU and was tricked into believing it was 0% for 18 months. The rate for my next statement after the transfer was 13%. Ive done business with them for 13 years and they have not fixed their mistake. I will be moving on from this bank and their deceptive practices.

I cannot say anything negative about this particular branch, but Im so livid right now that I guess I will vent on BECUs Corporate location review page. I have been banking with BECU since I moved to Washington in 2017. I really thought this hometown local Credit Union would provide its Share Holders with better services and tools to better grow our money. You would think that even the lower earners among us would be given at least some slightest of advantages banking with them, opposed to banking with the other traditional blood sucking institutions that fee you to death to hold your money. Most of us know that banks are a necessary evil that we are all beholden to. Sadly, 99% of us are penalized, feeed, and charged en mass to provide huge corporate juggernauts a safety net for piss poor business practices! But not the Credit Unions right? They are the places where small businesses and young families can get cheaper money, easier than a traditional bank right? The days when banks would pay account holders any kind of measurable interest on our accounts is long gone. I guess too, is the idea of Credit Unions being the banking alternative every person wished their employer had access to. It used to be a luxery to be able to get into a C.R. Not anymore, they are everywhere now. None if the new ones sprouting up, have ties or began from a group of employees at one or two particular companies. They call themselves Not-For-Profit, but that is legalese for We are a bank, we just call ourselves a Credit Union. I thought they ran my Wife and Is SS# to screen for credit worthiness, because this was a limited and preferred group of account holders. I found out later, that they use their credit scores to place restrictions and fees with those findings. All of that, so they can treat the poorest, youngest, and darkest among them horrendously. Not just the fees, penalties, and exclusions from how the more afflient members are treated. They actually limit the poorer members access to their own damn money! Not to mention access to grow wealth with the services offered to others. I was going to list the four things that happened this week, banking with BECU, but I have yet been able to address any of them, because there is never anyone available at night or on the weekends to speak to! That was the straw! I have just suffered with terrible personal banking for years. Not any more! I opened my Businesss Corporate Account Elsewhere, which has been honestly better than expected, but still without the services that were common place just 10-15 years ago. Things change, companies need to be competitive, but personal banking at a Credit Union should be without any doubt, absolutely advantages to the account holder! Thank you for reading my rant! ~C~

Went in for a card replacement on my lunch break and I was help by tosha(I hope Im spelling her name correctly) she was very sweet and personable. I was in and out and no time and made it back to work with 3 minutes to spare on my lunch break. All becu needs is 30 of her and I guarantee it would be nothing but 5 star reviews.

They have canceled and then re sent every ACH transfer for the last nine months. Last month my rent was late. Now I owe fees and penalties. For 9 months a human corrected every ACH transfer except for July 5th. Stop dodging and pay my fees.

Update to 1 star. Called back and because BECU lost us in the process, credit and paperwork needs to be run again. Will be looking to close BECU business and personal accounts. Hard to keep sticking up for BECU when stuff like this happens again and again. Re: Business Banking - mobile app, inability for electronic funds transfer to an external account if it s another business (lease payment), missing communication on credit app and no follow up. Business phone line can leave you holding for long periods of time. Really want to keep using BECU as our business grows however it s just getting harder and harder.

I love BECU! I just got my home loan here. Plus, I have banked here for many years. Carla, my loan officer, was so totally cool and professional! She really worked with me to get my loan. I cannot say enough good things about Carla, and the other people I worked with here. BECU is VERY people oriented... not like banks. I do not DO banks anymore. Just credit unions. (I use 2 credit unions, Sound CU being the other.) I had my Debit Card info stolen, and used, several years ago. They got the money replaced within days. Banks? Forget about it. You get your debit card defrauded, good luck. Credit Cards yes, but not debit cards. Credit Unions are the way to go. My advice... dump your bank. Move your money to a credit union. You are an owner of a credit union, not just a number.

Siad, loan officer at BECU HQ was a tremendous help in sorting out some kinks with my auto loan. He provided us with helpful information on the car and financing options so we could make the best decision for our family. He is one of the reasons why we continue to bank with BECU.

The worst- and I mean worst place to do business. Do not take your banking here. For a credit Union as large as they are they are stuck in the stone ages and do not do anything to personalize the member experience. Want to keep your money with them and ask for a rate match? They won t do it. Mail a sheet of checks? Can t. Refinance your car? Sure, but you re going to be the one doing the titling paperwork. Need a paper emailed to you? Too bad, that ll be 5-8 business days. Took all of my money out and left.

I have used BECU for personal and business banking. They have always been very good. The online banking is well organized, reliable and effective, and the in person experience good. This is true of the main branch in Tukwila but almost more so at the many community financial centers which are conveniently located all over! The rates are good, service charges few. Why would anyone use a bank?

Ive been with BECU for 2 years or so now. Ive been very happy with them, until recently. When I got my secured cc, they never told me the only way Id get my security deposit back was if I could be approved for a higher limit - 500 was the deposit. I fell on hard times, had a ton of unexpected expenses, and when I needed my money, they denied me because of my credit score. Now, fast forward 6 months, I am $9k in debt, and last payday, almost 300 was taken from my new account by a creditor who had no legal authority to withdraw from that account. BECU got the money back, exactly 10 business days ago. They told me 7 to 10 at first, then said 21st is when it would be deposited. I cant even check my account with the app because theyve locked me out of it. I have to either go to an ATM or try the regular online portal. They say they are about members. Which I thought too, until things got bad. Then MY money was no longer really my money, but rather $500 I am paying the bank to hold onto. I will no longer do business with BECU, or any other financial institution. Even when they are transparent they are not truly transparent, and would RATHER REAP INTEREST OFF OF MY MONEY THAN GIVE ME MY MONEY TO PAY MY RENT. This soon-to-be-former-member is one week from homelessness, losing my car, and potentially losing my job as well, but they cant even get me money that is rightfully mine. That is not being member-oriented. That is GREED. Stop drawing interest off my damn money, and let me pay my rent!

Have always had a good experience here. But this last visit was excellent (oct 20, 12pm). I worked with a teller named Michah (or Mika? Not sure) and she was awesome! I had a check to deposit but had lots of steps involved, not the usual deposit. These steps seemed tedious to me, and I dont even work at the bank. But Michah/Mika was super patient even when I had to make some corrections to my instructions. I feel like most tellers would try and rush you but Michah/Mika was very understanding. This place is too ritzy, been a member 7 years now, never managed to get a loan out of them. My house, cars, personal loans...all from other places. It might be a plus that they are too good for a guy like me, but it makes them hard to work with in a serious way.

Recently or at any time, have you ever really read your becu statement carefully, if you do you will have a big surprise. even if you read your statement and not balancing by a few cents, or even a dollar, how many of ever wonder and put the effort to investigate? if you do you might get surprise. These kind of action has been a common practice by the traditional bank. The bank like becu who has over 1.2 million customers, if they take out of each customer 3 cents, how much they will have collect, the calculation I will leave it upto you. second one is for loan recipients from becu. the same scam done by traditional bank, BECU following the same scam on insurance purchasing activities on behalf of you without your knowledge, which I have been contacted by many becu customers for proper action. previously bank has been found guilty and paid million of million dollars. I am a long-time BECU member, but will now be switching banks as soon as possible. I paid off my vehicle loan nearly three months ago, and have still not been able to obtain the title to that vehicle due to gross negligence on the part of BECU. Staff have been clueless, contradictory, rude, uncaring and unhelpful. This is not a small bank that cares about its members. You are much better off going with a large bank that at least has the resources to provide effective customer service. Its sad for me to say, but I strongly caution against joining BECU.

I had a great experience today with teller Anna M. The line was a little long (11AM on a Saturday) but once I got to the desk everything was super easy and efficient. Everyone there was quite knowledgeable. When there was a hiccup (my documents couldnt be scanned properly) a supervisor was immediately available to help and I honestly dont think the issue added any time to my visit. I also went to the wrong area at first and was visibly confused, so an employee came over to ask what I was here to do, and directed me to the correct line before I could even check in using the machine! 10/5 Stars, if you need to do anything more complicated than deposit a check or withdraw cash, this location is worth the drive!

3rd time was the lucky charm ! B.J. the bank manager expedited returning my $$$ to my account 8/9/2022 after the ATM machine malfunctioned 7/18/2022 and kept my money with no deposit accounted for after 2 calls to their call center and I received part of my money back. 8/10/2022 Im trying to check-in to remove my deceased mother as a beneficiary on my account and the woman tells me Then it wont go to anyone Duh, thats why I change it and put my son as the beneficiary so the government doesnt keep it !

I ve had this bank for a few years now and it s been terrible. I travel for work and I m left stranded at a fuel station because they have such low limits on debit card and atm withdrawal. It s so frustrating having so much money in my account and not being able to access it. And customer support hours are so bad, I can t get hold of anyone to increase my card limit. And this has happened multiple times. And when I do get ahold of someone during their business hours, they will only temporarily increase my limit. This might be a good bank if you are poor and don t spend too much money and don t travel. But for me it s not working.

BUYER BEWARE: VISA charge disputes are manual, cumbersome and intentionally difficult to process - AVOID THIS CREDIT CARD as they operate unlike any card I have ever used. There is NO online method to dispute a credit charge, only a manual process intended to be slow and cumbersome. The service is outsourced to a company in Florida that we continually had to call for six weeks and submit THE SAME INFO time after time before action of moving the claim along was promised. Then they said it would take 60 days minimum to get the merchants side of the story and then after that they would decide whether to refund the $182 I spent on a drop shipped trailer hitch to a local merchant. Terrible communication, repeated excuses, broken promises and no performance. We have suspended all use of this credit card and when the charge back is resolved we will cancel it. We would NEVER wish this experience on anyone. I now feel that BECU VISA offers NO SECURITY to the users purchases. SHAME ON YOU BECU.

We have continued to have serious issues at this location with depositing foreign checks. They continue to tell us that they don t deposit foreign checks, and they re not professional at all because they won t even take the time to listen. Every time its a hassle and every time they eventually realize their mistakes but every time they do the same thing over again. Either retrain all employees and managers to be more professional and know how to do their jobs or hire more competent employees.

Becu mortgage is the worst in the nation! If you want to buy your dream house and try to get the mortgage going, run away from becuand find other banks or you will never have a chance to put an offer on your dream house. Becu mortgage employees don t know how to get your work done. They let you hang around and wait forever. When you call, they will keep transfer you to a different person and finally hang up on you, despite you call them again and again and same thing happens.

Wanted to send money to friends and family in Ukraine. Telling that they must be mistaken and Swift code from Russia are banned not Ukraine but all I recieved was a shoulder shrug. Definitely going to find way to send money just not via BECU. Also considering moving funds to a new bank. If I could I would have given 0 stars

My family has been long time BECU members and my parents have also been long time BECU members (over 4 decades) and are retired Boeing employees. The service has gone down and many of the workers dont even know how to do simple requests. The branch workers have no knowledge, I think BECU needs to spend more time training their employees and preparing them better before they are out working at branches. My family and all our extended family would like to keep our accounts here. Please work on training your employees better.

I have both a personal savings account and a club savings and checking account with BECU. I ve had accounts with them since 2010. Want a bank where everything takes an hour to deal with? Bank with BECU. You want limits on how much you can spend on a transaction? Bank with BECU. You want a bank that can t adapt with the times? Bank with BECU. You want a bank with high interest rates? Bank with BECU. Want a difficult time making member to member payments? Bank with BECU. Want a bank where their employees don t fully know their process? Bank with BECU. They have great advertising and marketing. Don t be fooled, there are better banks and credit unions out there that can provide a better banking experience.

I have been standing in line for 45 minutes trying to withdraw my rent money since becu atms only allow you to withdraw $500 a day. I count 40 people in line and 4 tellers working. I have literally move 5 feet in 45 minutes. The fact that there is only a couple locations in the puget sound area that actually have live tellers is a joke. I have been with becu for almost 3 years now and I am thinking of switching to bank of America. They have locations everywhere and they all have tellers. Uggggh

I understand they are understaffed and busy, but LOST MANAGEMENT needs some serious help. I have been trying to resolve an issue for nearly 2 months now and have received different information each time I come in. Multiple times now I have had to drive 30+ mins to get to this location because apparently nothing can be done at any of the hundreds of branches in this 30 mile radius. I live 2 minutes from a branch and have to drive to this location just so someone can look something up on a computer. I cant wait to get this issue solved so I can close my accounts and switch to another credit union. It would be a Christmas miracle.

BECU Headquarters at Tukwila and still required to wear mask. When you go inside, a lady will be there to answer your requirements. I came to notary. Just went to the customer center. The service was much better than before. There is no waiting outside and no long lines. My notary finished smoothly

Absolutely THE WORST for home loans. 2 hours late funding a loan that they sent the day of closing. Gave zero direction on loan documents. Terrible communication all around and lost documents wed sent multiple times. Do yourself a favor and use any other lender.

I came here to open an account for checking and savings. The banker I was working with took 2 hours! I was trying to be patient and give him the benefit of the doubt considering he seemed like he was new. After all the paperwork was processed he said we ll call you in 5 business days . And I kept waiting for his phone call then realizing it s been past 5 days so I decided to call and make a follow-up. That s when the banker finally told me that I needed more documents to open the account. What surprises me is that if I did need more documents like he said I don t understand why he didn t call to begin with instead of wasting my time. Then again considering it took him 2 hours to open the account, it doesn t seem like he was knowledgeable banker. Like I said I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because he seems new but it was unfortunate that I had to waste my time coming here.

Becoming a regular bank! Been with BECU for decades. I have 2 auto loans with them 100% perfect payments. They pre-approved me for refinancing my truck, and spoke with 3 loan specialist while acquiring requested information. Told all I had to do was print a page and sign and the loan would be done. Asked if I could go into branch to sign so made me an appointment. Im here and now last second They want a $3k down payment! Typical for a bank and now I dont trust BECU any more then any other financial institution. Totally waist of my time. The institution that has my current loan has offered to refinance and was giving BECU a chance. So disappointing BECU!

Becu mortgage processing depart is horrible. The buyers on my house had to extend the closing date 3 times and as a seller I lost tons of money. I am considering pulling all my accounts from their company. I would never get a mortgage loan with them.

The staff at BECU is always helpful. But, the Espresso stand outside is an absolutely must try. Everything at that stand is delicious. You can taste the quality and love they put into their drinks. The Pumpkin and Chai Frappuccino us my all time favorite.

For the most part, I love BECU. But the daily spending limit is killing me. I was in the store making a purchase, and my card was embarrassingly denied. I then was on hold for 40 minutes to get the purchase approved! They NEED to make a separate fast line for spending limit approval cause this is ridiculous.

Very Poor service after being a customer for 9 years with zero issues to them. Never did i overdraft or not have money on the account. The moment i switch banks since i moved to a different state and my venmo account pulled money from Becu on an accident touch, they not only charged me 2 fees of $25 dollars each but they were also not willing to waive the fees. I payed most of it leaving a $15 balance and after speaking to John (the manager) not only did he have a rude attitude, he had no intention of helping. Since I am no longer a customer to them and transferred all my money out they had no care for me. Very dissapointed with the company i had my first checking and savings with. Never Again. Would not recommend them.

Wow, I wouldnt wish these guy on my worst enemy, they answer the phone quick, but nobody seems to know anything, after a few transfers and disconnects someone will promise to call you back, they never do. In all my days Ive never worked with a company that was so difficult to work with and Im trying to give them money. I could only image the nightmare if you were trying to get money out of your account. Should have stayed with Chase, as least they care.

I have been banking with them for a few years now from Colorado. They have all the tools needed online, or in app & can use my local credit union as a local branch. I have always had excellent experience with their customer service. I have had an issue sending a fax to them for the first time this year, which I am still attempting to get resolved.

This is great bank, but they are getting greedy. I had mortgage with them and auto loan. Paid off my auto loan. Guess what? They charge me $32 charge assessment fee. Really? I paid over $1,000 in interest and now a fee for paying off my auto loan. Really dissapointed. I do not see how credit union is better that publicly traded company.

BECU has the worst communication and follow up I have ever experienced. They fumbled my auto insurance documents for my Loan and charged me nearly $6000 to my auto loan for a ridiculously overpriced insurance premium even though I already had insurance and they were to lazy to simply give me a call to resolved their issue. The thing is I work at a car dealership and set up loans for people all the time with BECU. Do you really expect me to reccomend them anymore? There are so many other credit unions out there with much better customer service. I m honestly shocked by the lack of customer service. I ll probably just refinance my loan to WSECU. Better rates and service.

Okay, as far as banks (credit unions) go, the services offered are great. The people are friendly and helpful, and they have a large presence in the Pacific Northwest. Why only 2 stars? Just take a look at the online banking web site. This isnt the late 80s people! There is no reason for the ugly and inefficient layout, broken links, and conflicting information. I consider myself relatively computer savvy and have and programmed created web sites and pages. The BECU sight is ridiculously disorganized and confusing. Get this. I lost my credit card. Should be easy to go online and report it lost, right? Nope. After a series of false starts (which included a couple of pages not found, and non-responsive pages), it turns out that the way a stolen card is reported is to send an email to BECU. There is no guidance on what should be included in the email. Name? Account Number? I didnt feel comfortable using an unsecure method (email) to send financial information, so included only the last four digits of the credit card as well as other information that I thought would be needed. Pressed Send, and waited. For days. Nothing, no response, no email from BECU that they had received the request. Nada. Zippo. Zilch. Finally tried calling the number on the web site, and was on hold for at least 15 minutes. Geez. Finally, called the Visa Concierge service on the back of the card. The automated system did not have an option to replace lost cards (though if you need help on booking a trip...) Pressed 2, entered my card number, in thirty seconds was connected to a very friendly and efficient BECU representative who took care of everything within a minute or two. Get with the times BECU! Try user testing your web site before putting it online. I mean, even the login screen looks like a page from a Russian hacker site--but less elegant. Rant over. I have voiced (posted) my complaints with BECU for the last 8 years, but nothing has been done to streamline their online presence. Although they have updated the home page, and it looks a lot better. But its just lipstick on a pig.

I have been a member for more than 20 years, a loyal customer with steady income and direct deposits. BECU has lately very deceptive business practices. (1) There is nothing personal in the way they do business with individuals; (2) Their ads are entirely deceptive (no, please do not believe for a second that they are there to assist and help customers, even loyal customers). I have a new car loan here, and the last loan I had with a different credit union gave me the ability to pay online with no fee with my debit card. BECU only has a convoluted transfer into savings process, and it is so slow and cumbersome to set up I had to go into a branch to access an ATM and deposit cash, then transfer to the loan. The teller was unable to make any adjustments to online activity, and recommended I cancel my external transfer online. The BECU site is not letting me login today from either a computer or the mobile app or mobile website saying to clear my browsing history. Such a poor setup.

Have an auto loan through BECU and moved out of state. Needed a copy of the title sent to the new state to register the car. Simple enough right? Called in June 2020 to request the title. Spoke to an employee who had never done this before. Was told they needed an $11 maintenance fee for the title which could be included with the monthly payment, and then the WA DOL may take several weeks for the title. Okay, reasonable. Sent it in. Called back July 2020 to follow up. Was told they didn t receive the fee because it actually *can t* be sent in with the payment and must be separate. Due to this, 6 weeks had gone by with nothing happening. Whoever I spoke to first was misinformed. Everyone seemed clueless on how to do this. Was told the fee needed to be sent again but could only be mailed and not paid over the phone. Clarified the address to send it to, twice. Sent it in again. September 2020, check in again. Get told the fee was accidentally applied to the loan and due to that, nothing happened again. Basically got told oops and now I m another 4-6 weeks out from registering the car while now driving around with expired registration due to BECU s incompetence. They ve made what should be a simple process an absolute nightmare that s now taken over three months. Can not wait to never deal with this company again. UPDATE: October 2020. Was expecting a letter in the mail confirming the title change. Instead I received *someone else s* letter. Literally, addressed to a name I don t know but somehow with my address, about someone else s vehicle. Called about it, my title s still pending and this was another oops. Someone else out there didn t get their letter and meanwhile my car s still not registered. The incompetence continues.

Ive been with BECU for 23 years, and always had a great experience until now. 4 times in the past week Ive tried calling to get help with an issue. Placed on hold for over 30 minutes each time and twice it just hung up. I still cant get help. Yes, Covid, but its been around for 8 months now so BECU should have adjusted and shifted staff to support phone needs. Very disappointed.

Business owners beware! I made an ATM deposit in the thousands of dollars, & the cash disappeared from my account. BECU blamed the error on the shared branch. But after the shared branch conducting an audit of their ATM & review evidence of my deposit & receipt it was discovered that BECU in fact failed to post to cash to my account. The situation forced me to borrow money at a premium so I could pay my scheduled debt on time because they refused to help me & were very indifferent to my tenuous situation they created, causing me great financial distress in these difficult times during COVID-19 for business owners. Agents were not willing to expedite my situation to rectify it, even after I got the shared branch manager to reach out to BECU via email to let them know of their mistake so I can pay my bill in a timely manner. Nightmare situation & my thousands of dollars have not been recovered yet. You ve been warned, do not bank with this failing institution.

When I walked into the Northgate branch, granted my husband is a member and I am not, it felt like I was being rushed into a deal with no prior information. Instead of asking questions about what was needed and seeing the best way to go about the process, the teller, Shoshanon just began asking for information and inputting it into the computer. Never were my husband and I asked about our specific needs nor pre-screened to see if BECU would be a good fit for an auto refinance of if another financial institution would be a good fit based off of our household finance composition. Instead, it seemed like they were trying to meet a quota because of the hurried and rushed feeling that my husband and I felt. It was quite the uncomfortable experience. We called for the District Manager but ended up getting the branch manager instead who was completely dismissive and defensive. He did not listen to our concerns but instead just wanted to tell us how we were wrong and invalidated our feelings. I do not have an account with BECU and based on this interaction I will never get an account with them.

Apparently, actually using a debit card is considered fraudulent. I ve had it cancelled twice for using it in Everett, I live in Snoqualmie. I m now in Arizona, four days into a road trip and now neither my wife nor I can use our debit cards, in spite of having ample money in our account. Ten minutes into BECU hold music, and no answer. Last week, BECU decided I was buying too many Nintendo Switch games for my son and blocked those transactions. Here is some advice for you Americans regarding banking: it works both ways. We deposit money and then you are expected to release it back when your soon to be ex-customer needs it. It is not a deposit only world.

Very helpful and friendly tellers and staff. Wait times can be unbearable in the afternoons. Coffee available in this Branch. Looks like it has been remodeled since my last visit. New phone menu system is miserable. I wish they still had 0-0 to get to a teller for simple checking account and savings account questions. The credit union seems to be lagging behind the customer growth.

This space previously contained a negative review. However I felt it necessary to come back and update this. I had an issue with one of my BECU credit lines so I went into the Greenwood branch and an employee named Ian Wood was so helpful and friendly that it turned me back into a believer.
