The team has super clear, very timely communication and was so easy to work with when collecting the many many many documents needed to qualify for a loan.
Beyond that, when it came to submitting an offer on the house we wanted to purchase, Paul and his team went above what we'd expect to make things happen for us and move quickly.

Paul and his team were absolutely fantastic throughout the mortgage process! I came to Paul in a crisis moment where my husband had lost his job about a month before closing on our new construction home. I was seeking alternate options and needed them quick as I couldn't qualify on my own and didn't want to lose the house. Other lenders had told me that they couldn't help me but Paul's team was quick to look into alternate options and came to me with a viable solution next day. Karissa put me at ease and walked me step by step through the process of what was needed and kept me on task. When it was time to hand me over to Tatiana for closing documents she made a thorough intro, let me know I was in good hands, and I indeed was! Tatiana was fantastic as well and was quick to answer any questions I had, explain the process and documentation needed, and treated my closing like it was her own. I'll never work with anyone else, can't recommend Paul and his team highly enough! I am now happy and settled in my new home in huge thanks to them.

As a first time home buyer, the CrossCountry Mortgage team was great in helping me throughout the process of financing my home. I mostly worked with Paul, Gloria, and Nicole and I felt so comfortable working with them throughout the process because they were so responsive and did a phenomenal job of communicating with me during the whole home buying process. We felt very represented in our quest to buy our home. The Johnson Team @ CrossCountry Mortgage were amazing to work with, and played a crucial role in my home purchase. I toured a home and decided I needed to get everything in order to make an offer. In a competitive market like Seattle its hard to do things out of order like that, and successfully purchase a home. Paul Johnson and team were able to make it happen! Paul called me back the same day, walked me through what documents were needed for a pre-approval, and the next morning by 10AM I had the pre-approval letter, enabling me to make an offer on the house. Paul and his team took me from being bewildered and confused about the mortgage process to closing the deal in 3 weeks. Simply an amazing team. The whole time I felt like I was their only client, obviously that couldnt have been the case. But the level of care and attention to detail amazing. Paul and his team have been really great to work with. Paul, Natasha, and Irina are always happy to answer my questions or direct me to the appropriate resources. The team overall puts a lot of effort into making sure that their clients are happy with their service. The base rate for my loan was pretty good, and they provided options to adjust my rate (e.g. I can pay a little higher closing costs for a lower rate, or I can pay a higher rate for a credit towards my closing costs). They sent me cookies and a lottery ticket which was really cool. Listing agents that asked which lenders I was working with seemed to be familiar with Cross Country with a strong positive opinion. As a first time home buyer, having such an attentive lending team has been a great experience.

The Johnson team at CrossCountry mortgage helped save my first-time home buying closing process after Caliber jacked my rates up last minute and refused to budge. Wish I had worked with CC from the start - these folks are amazing and make the process very simple. The team moves extremely quickly and were ready to close on my home in as little as two weeks. I attribute much of this speed to their thorough online application process that is able to scan your bank statements and request information about certain transactions even before the underwriting process has started - I think this gives them a headstart on collecting the information they need so less time is spent waiting. If youre looking for a lender that doesnt shy away from innovating on the process using tech, I highly recommend the Johnson team at CC.

UPDATE: Paul Johnsons team at CrossCountry Mortgage just handled my re-finance, saving me hundreds of dollars a month in my mortgage payment due to the lower interest rates. Just like my original review below, I cannot recommend them enough. They work at light speed, and Holly would send out Tuesday status emails explaining whats going on and whether you have any open actions theyre needing. They make the process so easy, thanks to their professionalism! ---- This is my first real estate experience. I was advised by my local Redfin agent to try out Guild Mortgage (after I had already contacted some nationwide companies due solely to name recognition) and it was immediately clear this was good advice. Guild called my cell within hours of submitting for pre-approval, expertly assisted me and answered every question I had in a single phone call, and I was under contract with them before I got my first callback from the earlier nation-wide firms (over a week to get a call)! Their interest rate also beat the next competitor by 0.75%, which is significant on a home loan. The national interest rates had risen slightly between my estimate and rate lock-down, so Guild paid the point cost without me even asking them-- they just wanted to stay true to their interest rate estimate even if it cost them money. They have a system where every Tuesday, you receive a comprehensive progress email on the closing process, and it very clearly lays out any open actions remaining for you, and their due date. This made my first home buying experience much less stressful. I worked with Cindy, Karissa, and Paul throughout the process and getting a hold of them was a breeze-- theyd immediately answer their cells and Id have an issue resolved within 5 minutes of grabbing my phone. This experience shares the top of the list of best customer service Ive ever experienced, and its especially impactful given the financial significance of home ownership. I scour Google for the review scores of restaurants, bars, movie theaters, auto shops etc. before visiting them, and rely on relevant and accurate reviews from past customers to make my life easier and less stressful-- nobody wants to get wrapped up in a debacle by an incompetent service provider, no matter what industry. I made a calendar reminder to sit down and write this review because I hoped it would help another intimidated first-time home buyer realize how simple the process can be if youre working with experts, and Guild didnt need to tell me that-- they proved it silently by doing their jobs and doing them well.

As a first time home buyer, I could not have had a more seamless experience with my mortgage, especially during the pandemic. I want to highlight some aspects of my experience with the Johnson team and why I HIGHLY recommend them - Communication - I spoke with multiple lenders while getting my pre-approval. The customer experience and transparent communication with Paul s team was the most important factor that made me lock with them. They communicate with data and facts rather than coercion. This was key to me as a first time home buyer. You don t want to be rushed into making one of the biggest decisions. Paul and his team were very quick to respond and SO easy to work with. I primarily worked with Paul, Elaine and Tatiana. They provided regular updates and clear action items without me having to follow up. Average response time was 20 minutes! Pre-approval - the process was so thorough that once I locked with them, I only had to update a small set of documents. Their online portal is very customer friendly and intuitive unlike most legacy bank software which made my document signing and uploading process immediate and seamless. These minor details make the overall process simple, especially when you have a million things going on when buying a house. Paul was extremely professional and nothing short of exceptional throughout this whole process. Getting a mortgage can be stressful to say the least. Their team did a good job helping us close on our first Seattle home in early 2019. The fees were lower than a local competitor. We did receive emails from several different team members depending on where we were in the closing process, but they all reviewed our case before asking duplicate questions. There was one point where it looked like they were going to require a virtually impossible level of documents, but we were able to find an acceptable middle ground. We closed on time and our mortgage is now serviced by Wells Fargo.

Paul and the team have been so helpful throughout our first mortgage loan last year and now our refinanced mortgage loan this year. They are always willing to answer our questions and give us extra information. Additionally, the team followed up with us one year after our original loan to let us know that we could get a better rate. (And we did!) I even reached out to two other mortgage lending companies to get other quotes, and they couldnt beat what Guild was offering.

Paul was of great help when I got my house. Umqua, new American funding were the other 2 lenders I had bid from and Paul influenced me to go to guild by Mainly 2 things. 1. The excellent team he has that includes Emily,Cindy etc.. and there quick communication. 2. With the offer he gave. Not just the rate negotiation but also he promised a cash back on my appraisal fee which was about $900. I was referred to Guild Mortgage by my real estate agent after telling him I was having issues with BECU. I was hesitant to switch since I already banked with BECU and had my precious mortgage through them. I decided to call and talk to Paul Johnson to see what he had to say. Immediately I could tell that Guild Mortgage was going to be right for me. Paul was able to answer all of my questions immediately and it was obivous he was very knowledgeable about the entire process and options for my family. After talking to Paul I called back BECU and asked them some of the same questions. BECU was confused about some of the loans and couldnt even tell me which services they offered. On top of all that, I kept getting transferred to different people with different answers. Thats when I knew for sure Paul was the right choice. The whole loan process was seemless! Paul and his team told me everything I needed to know and kept me one step ahead the entire process. Caitlyn called me EVERY Tuesday to give me an update and answer all my questions which was extremely helpful. No more guessing like with BECU. Paul is the first mortgage consultant Ive ever worked with. During our first meeting in person, he gave me a intro lesson about loan types and options I could have. Then I was handed to Zay who initiated my loan process. She has been very helpful and professional ever since. As an international student who came here to study and now currently works using F1 OPT after graduation, I went through some unexpected trouble during the underwriting stage. I almost wasnt able to get full underwriter approval on time to bid for a house. Zay was exceptional and punctual in the communication with the underwriter and with me. I was able to get the full-approval right before the review date of a house after providing the correct employment documents, kudos to you Zay! After my offer was accepted by the seller, Cait was the one that helped me for the closing. She was very detail-oriented and answered every question I had precisely. The kind of clarity really made closing much easier. It is quite important to work with loan officers that are knowledge and responsive. I appreciate all the helps from Paul Johnson group. Paul and his team were incredibly helpful throughout our mortgage approval and closing process. He was able to get us an updated underwritten pre-approval letter the same day, on a Friday evening, which we used to secure our townhouse a day later. He and his team kept us continually updated with where we were at during the closing process. We appreciated that because the closing was complicated and pushed back, due to the sellers still in the process of recording the short plat with the county. Even with the delays, Paul was able to keep our rate locked in and the closing costs did not end up increasing from our original quote. I would definitely recommend Paul.

He was extremely supportive of us and our real estate agent and was available to answer questions as we made adjustments to our offer. We were juggling calls with the agent and Paul while all offers on the home were being reviewed. His availability and input helped us secure the home. Paul also recommend a few different real estate agents he thought would be a good fit for my wife and I. We ended up working with one of his recommendations and it was a perfect match for us. Paul, Natasha, Nicole, and the rest of the team are great people to work with. They are always available to answer your questions. I hardly got a voicemail and when I did I was getting the call back in no time. They made the process easy and the explained everything clearly. They were looking out for my best interest even if means less profit for their end. I highly recommend them

Over 2 years ago my wife and I met Paul while we were looking to buy a new house. Our situation was very unique in that we had a rental property with very little equity and a permanent residence with virtually none. And to boot we had a high debt to income ratio....Paul was not intimidated by that and approached the situation with the attitude of How can we make this work rather than Come see me when you get closer to reality Some how he was able to set up a Perfect Storm of events that had to happen for us to move forward and guided us towards that. All and all we managed to close on three properties in three consecutive days. Like a domino effect, one had to go before the other, but he and his team made it happen. That all happened about 16 months ago. Fast forward to just before Christmas last year. We get a call from Paul saying he had been watching some of the rates change and thought we would be good candidates for a Refi, and he would confirm that after the first of the year. Sure enough Paul and his team put it together, my wife and I were able to save almost $300 a month!
