They can and will follow you through the store like you will steal from them. I do not recommend. This discouraged me from even buying the magazines I needed. I will carry my money somewhere else

My experience was very positive. Had a couple firearms sent there for pickup and took another I had to ask about an issue with a pin in the slide. The gunsmith just fixed it on the spot and returned with no billing for his time. Thats customer service. I will be returning.

This pawn and gun shop has an amazing selection when it come to weapons. The representatives were all very friendly and open to all questions I had. I ended up buying a shotgun and placed a rifle on layaway! I was amazed they had a layaway for weapons! They also have a gunsmith at this location should you have any questions that the representativedo not know or to fix your weapons. I highly recommend this place! I can not wait to come back!

They wouldn't take the magazines, and put my silver to a magnet and basically said it was fake and they wouldn't take them. I took my stuff and left, I tested each piece of silver with different magnets when I got back and could not replicate the reaction they were getting. How can you be a pawn shop and just lie to customers like that? I ended up going to a different pawn shop and they took everything with no issues. I don't think I will be coming back here again.

Kurt the Gunsmith is amazing. Took my old double barrel shotgun in with a small dent at end of one the barrels and he fixed it while I waited. Also I purchased a vintage Savage over/under shotgun and upon disassembly for cleaning I noticed one of the trigger spring screws was sheared off. This screw was probably 1/16” in diameter. Kurt meticulously removed it with no thread damage to the receiver. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks Kurt and Chesapeake Pawn and Gun!

Kinda disappointed with this place. They have always been awesome. My wife bought a hand gun from there. She was so excited it is her first. She was so excited that she completely missed the fact it didnt have a manual safety. So in less then 10 days we took it back with the receipt to see what we could do. They only offered to by the gun back at half price. We mentioned we are looking at another handgun almost double the price. Still only offered half price for the original one we bought. So we left. Now as a business man myself. I would want my customer to feel happy with their purchase and feel SAFE. Also when given the opportunity to put the same product back on the shelf and resell it for the same price as well sell another for almsot double that price. It would probably be a good idea. (You made $341.00 when you could have made $1023.00) but not only did you loose money you may have lost a valuable customer to.

First time in this place today and very impressive selection of firearms and other items. Staff were very polite and friendly. Great price on the gun I wanted from their website. They even offered coffee while you wait on background check which was a plus. I picked up a used handgun and it looked exactly as described in the pictures. I noticed they even have bargain bins on a table there with mags and other items which were neat and priced great. Really like how they do business and I m sure I will definitely see them again in the future. Thanks to all the staff for a great experience!!!

Just bought a shotgun there yesterday, had to come back and pick the gun up because my background check got delayed (Not the fault of the store) When I came in the store both times, there was 3 or 4 ladies at a table to the left, and an old man in the back. Every single one of the woman seemed annoyed we were there. The lady couldnt tell me anything about the shotguns. Just kept asking which one do you wanna see. There was only 1 shotgun on the rack with a Buck Kicker choke on it, and she seemed to get annoyed/confused when I kept saying let me see the black one with the choke on the end. Two different ladies went over the paperwork with me and the attitude was ridiculous. I accidentally put my date of birth in the todays date blank, and you would think I personally insulted them. They were just sassy about everything. Fast forward to me about to pay for the gun, I ask to see what buckshot they have, she walks me to the back corner and just points at the bullets. The shelf is too far back to see for me (I have 20/20 vision) So I am sitting there squinting trying to see the ammo. I think I see a box of federal express, and I say Do you have any federal express she snapped back at me what you see is what we got! I said OK, can I see the gold box then, I cant read the boxes from here She picks it up, and is like oh, this is federal express.... There was an older man in the back working on guns, and he came out during the 2nd visit, and was actually being nice to my girlfriend, and showing her stuff and talking... I even tried to break the ice and crack a couple jokes/small talk during the process because it was awkward/tense for no reason. They just looked at me like I am stupid or something. Would say it was a bad day, but it was 2 days in a row, and with multiple people. The gun selection/price was good. Shotgun shells is bad, but its hunting season. I Would give a 5 star if not for the attitudes.

Dont write many reviews but felt like leaving one this time. Long story short, I went to pawn a firearm and got an offer of $175.00 at Chesapeake Pawn, went to Superior Pawn in Lynnhaven and got an offer of $250.00. I did not tell Superior Pawn that I had already gotten a previous offer; this was their offer at the jump. Maybe I could have gotten $25.00 more if I had tried to haggle, but the disparity between both offers led me to believe that it must have been decent enough? The gun sells for around $375.00 normally, so not like it was an extremely expensive firearm and that would explain the considerable difference in offers. Im sure Superior Pawn is going to make a good profit off my firearm, but theres fair, and theres what I got at Chesapeake Pawn... Anyway, the people were nice enough, no one was rude to me. They seemed helpful enough, so nothing negative to say there...

Walked in no greeting but literally everyone was staring behind the counter, walked around the store nobody came to ask if we needed help or even acknowledge us, just kept staring and side eyeing us. Came in and had an awful experience. I recommended this place to a friend overseas that wanted to purchase when he arrives back. Since I dont have in depth knowledge of guns, I was communicating with the associate and him at the same time. I know asking questions repeatedly can become annoying and thats one thing. When you start to act like Im there suspiciously and start to act like youre going to pull out your guns for a gun novice asking questions then theres some issues. I wont be back. Will not go where Im not welcomed.

I have been trying to find a certain 9mm Ruger pistol Chesapeake Pawn and Gun had it in stock. The young lady that waited on me was very knowledgeable about the pistol. Then she told me about some 9mm ammunition that was on sale at a great price. Needless to say I bought 2 boxes. I will return to the store. I live in VA. Beach and drove by the local gun shop to go to Chesapeake Pawn and Gun.

100% going back for my next gun. Great prices, great service, and a huge selection. Kylie helped me out today looking at everything from ARs, shot guns, and pistols. She was knowledgeable, patient, and in no way pushy to just get a sell and move on. Ended up getting the P365 with an extended mag, and a holster. Can t wait to go back to see what they have in stock next time.

Update: this team is still Amazing! I went back today to purchase my first firearm and the team made my visit an absolute pleasure! I will Only go here for my firearm needs now and in the future! I m a potential first time gun owner and obviously, I had several questions. I was immediately assisted by Josh, who, not only answered every question that I came in with, but also took his time to educated me and provide answers to questions that I hadn t even known to ask, even showing me how to properly disassemble the firearm that I was interested in, for proper cleaning. That was Awesome! The professionalism and knowledge that I was afforded on my visit will not soon be forgotten as I will be back to purchase my first firearm from Josh himself and will also be recommending this shop to any other responsible adults that I know that are looking to purchase their first or add to their collections. I visited this Chesapeake Pawn and Gun about a week ago. As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by Kylie. Kylie was an absolute professional who took time to answer my questions and tell me about their current inventory. Walked in to check on a gun that is being fixed and no one said anything to us. Was looking to spend some serious money on some new guns but apparently the staff is not Interested in helping customers. Will be picking up are gun for repair and taking all my business to Sheltons tactical in Portsmouth. Telling hundreds of my friends to quit using them. The young guy with the beard was the worst, not to mention the fat girl stuffing her face.

I have been coming to this store as my go to gun store since moving here two years ago. Every time I go in I am met with the same consistent high level of service from people who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do for a living, The bad attitudes that you experience with most gun stores simply do not exist here... even when I ask the stupid questions.

The people at Chesapeake pawn and gun are what really set this place apart from the rest. Often, the customer service received at a gun counter feels rushed, confrontational and condescending. Here however, the staff is always friendly, informative, patient and genuinely makes you feel welcome and valued. If I could add stars, I would.

The fact that I am a repeat customer should tell you enough. I have tried every gun shop and store in the Hampton roads area and this place always come through for me. Much gratitude to Kristin. She seem to be the one that helps me every time I come in and she makes the experience there so much better. I am highly impressed with everyone s knowledge of the different gun systems. I spent time as a marksmanship instructor so I like to play dumb when buying guns just to see if the sales person knows what they are selling me and Kristin always knows her stuff.
