We applied for a HELOC with Mr. Jason Hong from SFCU. We saw that SFCU was one of the few banks that would do a 100% LTV HELOC and we needed the funds to do a remodel of our home. We were quite nervous about the process, as we've had a few credit issues in the past. Mr. Hong was able to get us approved and held our hand throughout the process! Mr. Hong constantly kept in contact with us and give us periodic updates to alleviate any of our anxieties. We're proud to say that we were approved with SFCU and the customer service experience has been stellar. From start to finish, Jason processed our HELOC expeditiously and with great care. I cannot recommend SFCU enough, and please make sure you ask for Jason Hong!

I have applied for a heloc and I’m in the process of it now. I’m not sure how the outcome will be, but that’s also due to my credit and my own doings. So far Jason has been nothing short of courteous and he has been keeping me in the loop with everything and all the steps being taken. I had the pleasure of working with mortgage processor, Don Mills. Don was able to get my HELOC funded and processed with speed and care. I was initially overwhelmed by the 50+ page closing packet, but my anxiety was eased by Don who walked me through the entire process. My family greatly appreciates it and having Don in my corner has been a great blessing. Because of Don, I was able to begin my home renovations on time! I hope Don is recognized for his excellent customer service and prompt response times. Its difficult to find people who take pride in what they do.

I have 3 items to share. 1. Price of blank checks which come to about 55 cents each. 2. Change on statements, about one year ago, of including a 1/2 page color advertisement on my statement. This requires an extra page to print plus my color ink to print it. I JUST WANT MY STATEMENT, NOT AN AD! 3. Changing the procedure, without my knowing, of paying checks with insufficient funds by transferring money from share account to my checking account by paying directly from my share account.

Ok let me get straight to the point and be brief. I had an IRS refund check deposits in the wrong account by mistake. I Notified the bank (SIGNATURE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION), and they confirmed it was deposit into another member account. I was told that they cannot do anything about it until IRS sends a tracer which takes 6 weeks. So, the member can spend the money if they choose too because it was deposit in their account. THEY CLEARLY SEE IT WAS DEPOSITED INTO WRONG ACCOUNT. I did not ask for them to put the money into my account because Im willing to wait on the IRS to finish with the tracer. I thought they would hold the money until the investigation is done. I just cannot believe they said we cannot do nothing until the IRS is finished with tracer. Again, so the member is able to spend the money which mostly will happen we are talking about 6 weeks. Furthermore, to my knowledge the member wasnt even notified about the mixed up. The member address and name are different from mines but the account I provide by mistake is their account. so, it didnt get rejected it just went in and was deposit. CLEARLY YOU CANNOT MAKE A MISTAKE OR YOU WILL BASIC RECIEVE NO HELP AT ALL FROM THEM. I WAS BASCIALLY TOLD IT IS THE MEMBER MONEY NOW UNTIL THE IRS TRACER IS DONE.

My wife and I recently decided to purchase the vehicle that we had leased for 3 years. We planned on purchasing it directly from the finance company so we wouldnt incur the multitude of charges that the car dealer would apply. We found Signature FCU to have very competitive rates and we have always been very pleased with their service. I expected the transaction to be challenging but, due to the guidance and assistance of Delores Ernandez at the CU, it was quick, easy and flawless (and I saved a ton of money). I was pleased with my experience getting a HELOC in place with SFU. My loan officer, Eddy, was great and he promptly worked on my application which resulted in everything being closed on ahead of schedule. He took the time to explain everything and answered all of my questions professionally. I m looking forward to utilizing additional banking services down the road as a result. Just a quick note. In order to bank with them, you have to become a member. The process itself is very easy, but because they are experiencing a high volume of member applications, just be aware that it may take a little more time for that step to be completed. This doesn t lower my 5 star review for them. It s more of a FYI for you to bake additional time into your loan processing time frame if you are not yet a member.

He worked through our many issues (with incredible patience and without judgement) and literally pulled off a miracle loan that will dramatically change the trajectory of our finances for many years to come. I applied for a heloc with Signature FCU and the approval procedure was fairly arduous. If youve ever applied for a mortgage, you know what I mean. Luckily, I had Jason Hong as my mortgage loan processor. He explained which documents to provide (and why they were needed) to move the process along as smoothly as possible. Jude gave me a courtesy call to alert me in advance of a transaction that was maturing. I asked him to make some modifications and changes when the due date occurred. As a new Signature Federal Credit union member I wanted to share an excellent customer service experience I had. A week after I became a member I wanted to do a three month certificate of deposit and a six month certificate of deposit with Signature FCU. I called and spoke with Miriam Jimenez. I explained what I wanted to do, and that I wanted to do the deposits as quickly as possible. She recommended that I wire the money to get the certificates of deposits completed as quickly as possible. She said that she would note my file and would check my account periodically to process the CD s when the wire came through and the funds were in my account. She even assisted my other credit union with additional information they needed to wire the money directly to Signature FCU. She assured me she would keep an eye out for the funds and would set up the CDs as soon as the wire came through after I emailed her my request for the two CD s. Several hours after the wire was sent, Miriam called me and left me a voicemail and also emailed me to confirm that she had completed the two certificates of Deposits. In today s world, where companies are understaffed, and it is difficult to have people follow through and complete what they re supposed to do, it was wonderful to work with someone like Miriam, who stood by her word, and made sure that my wire came through and she got the correct amounts into the correct certificate of deposit, and when she did not reach me by telephone, even though she left a message, she still emailed me to ensure that I received the message. Thank you Miriam and thank you Signature Federal Credit Union for providing exceptional customer service in a world that doesn t provide that anymore.

Theres a reason why they have such a low rating. Their customer service is terrible. Extremely slow underwriting and they act like theyre doing you a favor by lending you money. Edit: received a call the following day after leaving this review and my application was expedited. Unfortunately the terms were terrible for the HELOC I wanted so I waited a month to find out I dont even want their money.

I don t ever leave reviews, but after this lengthy process that took much of my time and energy I felt the need to try and save others some time. My experience dealing with Signature federal was very touchy from the very beginning. I will not name the rep I was working with but he did not seem to know anything about the HELOC I was applying for. I was attempting to get a HELOC on my 4 unit Primary residence and was assured that we were able to do so several times over, leading into this two+ month process. After giving them all my documents and calling them to make sure I had everything in they would constantly ask me to send in more documents week after week just extending the process longer instead of asking for everything at once. Not to mention they would never return my phone calls and I had to always be the one to check in with them. Once I finally had everything they needed in, the rep told me they had just changed their guidelines and would no longer be giving HELOCs to 4 family residences as of over a month ago. They continued to string me along just to waste my time it seems. They were extremely short of transparent and ran my credit score not once, but twice. It was a very strenuous process that ultimately lead to nothing and I would not recommend this company for anyone looking for HELOCS.

I thought I would have a difficult time dealing with the Credit Union on my mom accounts after her passing. But to my surprise, it went better than expected. I started off in messaging and that worked out also. I researched 12 different lenders to compare HELOC offerings and Signature FCU came out on top as the best fit. Additionally, my loan processor Jason Hong was a breeze to work with - he was professional, concise, knowledgeable, and worked with urgency (didnt beat around the bush) on my behalf to close the HELOC in only a few weeks. Signature Federal Credit Union has proven to me to be one of the best run credit unions in the nation. Members are offered consumer lending products that are unique to SFCU. I could never get the same product or service at a regular bank or local Chicago area credit union. My loan officer Eddy Caicedo took care of my file from start to finish. I live in the midwest, not close to a Signature FCU branch; but that didn t matter. Do not apply for any kind of loans with this place, the follow up sucks they will never call you back or communicate with the customer in anyway, the process is horrible I applied for HELOC 20 days ago didnt even hear from the my underwriter I dont even know if the loan is approved or not based on what I was told it takes 24-48 hrs to get assigned to someone and it will take 6 weeks for everything to be processed and completed however the way its going its gonna take 6 weeks to hear from my underwriter.

I had a great experience on my HELOC with Signature federal credit union. My rep was Eddy Caicedo, and from start to finish, he was available for any questions and explained the process step by step. All the other reps I subsequently encountered during the closing process were also very helpful, detailed and professional. It was an easy and pleasant experience which can often not be the case when trying to get a HELOC so I certainly appreciated the ease of their process and the high quality customer service from start to finish. Perhaps youll be in good hands if you happen to be assigned to one of the positively-reviewed loan processors mentioned in these reviews, but unfortunately I had no such experience. The loan processor I was assigned to was wildly incompetent and extremely slow to respond. He asked for the same documents multiple times, asked for documents unrelated to the transaction, and just generally seemed to have no understanding whatsoever of rental properties and leases. Granted, my file may be more complicated than many, but its not rocket science. I went through another credit union and closed on my HELOC within 2 weeks, after wasting a month with SFCU. If you get assigned to Eddy/Eduardo, youre better off going elsewhere.

2 stars because my husband loves SFCU as do I for the most part. But if your applying for a new loan or credit card or anything of the nature and Antonio Burless is who calls or emails you back to process your loan, just cancel it. He is so so unprofessional and rude. Literally the only downfall on several different occasions with this credit union is his customer service. After getting off the phone with him I decided to go to chase twice to help me instead of using SFCU who I would of preferred. I really wish a manager would fire this guy or remove him from the phones and put him through some serious customer service training.

I have banked with this company for almost 17 years and that is now coming to an end!!!! After my divorce, 5 years ago, I faxed the legal documentation to take my ex-husband off my bank account! Last year my account was drained by the Division of Child Support. I had to go through months worth of bank statements to prove that he wasnt on my account. It took forever to get my money back! Im raising two children without financial help from no other than my paycheck. I faxed my information just as instructed. Months later, it happens again!!! Still hasnt been corrected!!!! A few weeks ago, I applied for a personal loan. May I say I have paid off SEVERAL personal loans through them and several loans throughout adult life that they can access and see! I didnt get the name of the loan officer, but the gentleman was very unprofessional during our conversation and was very impatient with me, he questioned me about what I had done with my money as if I was a child!!!! And he hung up on me and I have yet to receive a call or an email. I work in customer service and have for 19 years and if I were to have treated one of my customers that way, I would expect a WARNING for my behavior from my supervisor or expect to get the boot! Do yourselves a favor Signature and improve you customer service!!! You are losing a 17-year member because of it.

The fact she reached out told me that Signature does pride themselves on customer service, I guess me and the previous associate caught each other on a bad day. I applied for a HELOC over a month ago. finally got it approve over 2 weeks go but is near impossible to get in touch with the person that started the process with me. Melanie is none responsive by email or even phone. ive been tryin to close this HELOC for over 2 weeks not and seems Signature Credit Union dont want the business.

I just called Signature Federal Credit Union and spoke with Elizabeth Kouffalis in the mortgage/HELOC department. I needed a letter written stating the terms of a current loan I have with Signature. Elizabeth couldnt have been more professional or understanding. She wrote the letter while I was still on the phone with her and she stayed on the phone with me to make sure the letter made it to my email account right away. Wow! Let me start off by saying that I have been with Signature FCU since 1993 when it was NAPUS FCU and was specifically for postal workers and family members. I have had many loans through this institution under both names and have been using their savings account services since 1993. I recently, 2018 started using their checking services. At first it was an okay experience but as I used their checking for longer period of time I started noticing that their online systems do not show transactions and balances real time thus making it near impossible to trust. We have all been in positions where we are just barely making it down to the wire, living pay check to pay check, and checking your bank balance multiple times per day. I can tell you that since I have been in positions like that before and still end up there from time to time, I watch my account very closely. I have received MULTIPLE insufficient funds fees from them when I know for a fact my account was showing in the positive before I ever attempted to make any sort of transaction, yet somehow they have decided to charge me without cause. Every time this has happened I can show them on the breakdown that my account was showing positive before the fee was charged and there have even been times when the amount my account is in the negative is EXACTLY the amount it was in the positive minus the fees....on top of that it is nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone and can take WEEKS to get approved for a loan. The last loan I had to get through them took over 2 weeks for them to process....long story short, do what I did and go somewhere else that has a higher level of customer service, better systems, easier access, better rates, etc....since you all opened up your fcu to everyone everything has gone down hill!

I have been with the bank since 2015 and my mom and her parents even longer. Since Covid the bank hasn t always been very helpful or nice on the phone. But yesterday when I called several times with a million questions everyone I talked to was very very helpful and very nice. At one point I had pressed the wrong button on the menu and usually when that happens they re annoyed that they have to transfer me but the lady was very nice yesterday and didn t mind at all. They Didn t seem annoyed by all my questions and the hold time was much shorter. I m very pleased with the customer service I received yesterday and happy to add my husband to the bank now.

I called and spoke to Kurtis Calhoun last week to get an update on my loan application. Typically bank employees are like robots and dont go out of their way to help, but Kurtis was awesome. I felt like he had a genuine interest in getting me a status update and took steps with me on the phone to help move my application along. Just great customer service

It has proven to be an oasis in the midst of a desert. It s high interest rate is rare and encouraging. It moved me to set apart some of our money and put it in a savings account that pays well above the average. One of my best decisions during this pandemic period!

This credit union is trash. They are super unprofessional and lack communication. I opened an account through my sorority and so sorry I did. I don t need to go into details about my horrible experience, just know I warned you. Stay away from them. If you need a credit union go somewhere else..... anywhere but here.

This credit union is the most incompetent place I have ever dealt with - Their customer service skills are lacking when it comes to any aspect of finance. (Saying this and I have worked in the finance industry for 20+ years). Their regulations change as often as the wind blows with no notice until after it is done. Their representatives lie and tell you one thing while doing something else. They have 54 employees in the Alexandria Virginia office. Multiple Comptroller complaints that they have swept under the rug and yet they continue to do business. So another complaint will be made today to the Virginia Comptroller with all evidence including the phone call I recorded from my office line last week and all documentation. So over this Credit Union and their lack of handling business in a lawful manner.

On 12/7 I called in to discuss my account and I was disconnected 4 times! YES 4 times Also, I called Signature to continue the call; my call was not returned initially but Greg Parker did leave me a message. Thank you Greg! On 12/7 I called Signature FCU to inquiry about the mobile deposit feature. I was told a supervisor has to approve that request. I do not understand this logic!!! We are all trying to survive COVID so why would you want to expose your staff to the public unnecessarily? In my HUMBLE opinion Signature is NOT easy to do business with!

The worst bank I have ever worked with. I added automated payment information. Their website showed it is verified. I thought it was paid but there was a typo. They triple charged a fee ($35x3=$105) for one transaction. I requested to waive this nonsense. They only waived one ($35). I paid $60. They did not accept that. Now asking $7. They are insane. making money for nothing. DO NOT use them. They are also very rude and unprofessional

Paid my credit card account in full, and was shocked to see that 2 months later Signature hit my credit report with a 30 days past due. When I called to complain, the agent told me that 0.76 cents was charged to my account. Seeing as tho I paid them off and never wanted to deal with them again I had no knowledge of this charge. A few months prior I had an email argument with the collection manager and I know for a fact that this was done in retaliation due to the things he did on the website prior, to prevent me from paying on my account online. He tried to make me delinquent and got mad when I found other ways to make my payments on time. I ve NEVER been late on a payment, however they wait until I pay it off to be vindictive. Bad business. My score dropped 33 points over a fraudulent $0.76 interest charge on an account with a ZERO balance.

Extremely rude and unprofessional unless your depositing money... also not open on weekends or after 5 pm Staff beyond the front desk are extremely rude and condescending they even like to throw a little sarcasm in the mix. They will cut you off in the middle of speaking and they will hang up on you while you are explaining what you need...I would never in life recommend stay far away from these people they will cost you money

Was attracted by the rates for our HELOC, but was disappointed by the communication and timelines. Ended up taking nearly two months, rather than the one month originally promised, then they missed our funding date by two business days despite our documents being returned early. Then, now that it is funded, I find I can only transfer $1,000 a day from the credit union to my main account at another institution via their online banking platform. Any more than that and I need to call and have them MAIL ME A CHECK. IN THE YEAR 2020! Or I can incur fees with an ACH transfer (and even that is limited to $5,000) or a wire transfer. Even with the delays, I was considering doing additional business with SFCU, but not anymore.

They have great rates but their customer service is HORRIBLE. I ve been trying to close a HELOC with them for 8 weeks now and I ve been stuck in the pending phase for a month. Have called and emailed over 10x over 10 days and not one person will call me back to tell me the status of what s going on. Can t move forward with a different company cuz they won t call me back and in a pending loan. Started off great but has really fallen off the radar. Go see Connexus CU or anyone else offering similar rates...

Horrible customer service. We paid off a car loan the end of January. We were told that the lein would be released in 5 to 7 days and the title sent. We went to DMV today, 4 weeks later, with people we were selling the car to. Signature Credit Union never released the lien. I took the day off from work, I now have to take off another day. My buyer took a day off work too. Signature wasted our time and cost us all money.

Getting a sketchy vibe from this bank. Bought a car back in December 2016 and financed through this bank. I have made EVERY single payment ON TIME including DOUBLE payments and yet this month.....I get a notice saying I owe them for 2 months of payments from back in APRIL?!?!?!?! Why the hell would I just now get a notice for supposedly being behind>? I swear if this bank messed up my payments due to THEIR error and I get repoed....I WILL NOT BE FREAKING HAPPY!

Lending staff need training. Took over a month to trade cars. Loan Dept screwed up payoffs. Wound up paying on all four cars for a month instead of only two. The two we traded were already resold and the dealership had to wind up having me come there to call you. Took me three additional hours to straighten things out!

The office number i tried and when it went to switch me over to the department needed, the phone disconnected. tried again and went to a busy signal. You can take my money but you cant fix the website and respond to consumers???
