Mountain America federal credit union will always be my bank. Been with this financial institution for over years and I love it. They have very good credit cards benefits and bench of rewards products. As their employees are very well trained and polite towards customers. I just can’t get out of this financial institution and will be my life time bank. They got very clean offices and bathrooms are tremendous pretty clean every single time because as customers could use them when they’re in for their services. Spencer Beiza was very helpful in getting my auto loan refinance to lower rates and monthly payments to consolidate into one payment monthly. I love how the save their customers here in this branch. please if you looking for good credit union services and financial institutions bank look no further than this tremendous bank. Teller 2763 was incompetent. I asked him if he could stop the emails that I receive multiple times a day and he said that he did. He did not. I asked him to send an ATM card that I've already requested twice from two different people and never received. He told me that he couldn't request it because he needed an override because that was a different account I was referring to. He asked me to come in because I was in the drive through. He was too lazy to ask for an override while I waited. I finally went to another branch and got a lovely woman who was actually useful. When she looked my account up it had showed that there was never a request for an ATM card and she explained to me how to turn off my notifications for the daily multiple emails.

We had an amazing experience with these guys. They got us a loan when seemed like no one could because of the mileage of the vehicle. They were patient! And caring and waited while my husband had to go get notarized somewhere else because their person was out when we were there. Thank you guys so much!

I walked in off the street, was not a member, and did not have an existing account. I wanted to open a 6 mo CD there. 40 minutes later everything was finished. Whatever they are doing, they have really intelligent people behind the wheel. No odd delays, no unwarranted confusion, no unneeded security checks, no technical glitches. Their computing systems and their personnel are in excellent shape.

Should DEFINITELY check reviews everywhere I go, this place is THE WORST, ATM dont work, tellers are extinct you get one for all 3 drive up lanes, they tell you theyll be with you after the next person but they clearly cant count and dunno which lane is first or one plus one CHOOSE A DIFFERENT MACU I wasted over a half hour sitting at this one, I rather deposit my money in a sketchy 7-11 ATM in the middle of the drug block, its smarter and faster

This location has gone down hill since their new branch manager has taken over. I had been banking here for over 20 years and have seen staff come and go. But recently it is more of a headache than needs to be. 21st so and 20e is a much better location and is worth the extra mile drive.

I overall love MACU but for the love of God, fix ALL the broken ATMs! I went to three different MACU credit unions (33s , 21 s and State) before I had to go inside and wait over 20 min in a massive line to deposit money. This is absolutely unacceptable.

Ive had tons of problems with my banking from using MACU and with this branch in particular. My partner on a joint account cant access the accounts and they werent able to solve it after a lot of attempts. I think they set things up incorrectly.

My recent encounter with MaCu left me feeling utterly betrayed and manipulated. What began as an unsolicited call ended in a disturbing display of deceptive tactics aimed at convincing me to take out a car loan under false pretenses. The representative from MaCu wasted no time in launching into a slick sales pitch, touting their car loan as a special offer with unparalleled benefits. However, it soon became apparent that these claims were nothing more than smoke and mirrors, carefully crafted to conceal the truth. One of the most egregious lies peddled by the representative was their assertion that they could match the terms offered by a competitor. They persisted, unabashedly fabricating promises they had no intention of keeping. Moreover, the representative conveniently glossed over crucial details, painting a rosy picture that crumbled upon closer inspection. It was evident that their primary objective was not to serve my best interests but rather to line their pockets at my expense. The experience left me feeling violated and deeply disillusioned with MaCu. Trust is the cornerstone of any banking relationship, yet MaCU demonstrated a blatant disregard for honesty and integrity in their relentless pursuit of profit. In light of this egregious misconduct, I implore prospective customers to exercise caution when dealing with MaCu. Their propensity for deception and shady business practices is a clear indicator that they cannot be trusted. Avoid them at all costs to spare yourself the anguish and frustration of falling victim to their deceitful schemes. Update: Looking at the other reviews, other customers had similar experiences with the same specific person at Macu.

Im writing this review for this branch because I cant write a review for the whole institution. TL;DR: Go bank at AFCU if you want to be treated well, go bank with Silicon Valley Bank or Credit Suisse if you want a jazzed up MACU experience. MACU is no longer my primary bank, and I forgot they existed. I ended up with a severely overdrawn account and late payments being due on my remaining open balances. Thats on me, I own that mistake. When I was working to rectify the situation, I asked if I could set up recurring ACH transactions so that my remaining balances would be paid down. The representative was delightfully accommodating, took my bank account number and routing number, told me that payments would come out on the first of the month, and that was that, right? Of course it wasnt right, otherwise I wouldnt be writing this review instead of doing homework. I found out TODAY that not only is there no record of any ACH transactions being set up, its not possible to do that! And to add insult to injury, I thought MACU operated as a semi-serious financial institution and I could cancel any overdraw protection. NOPE! Even if I cancel and opt out of any overdraw protection they will still charge you $25 for each declined transaction! To be clear, I WANT to give MACU my money. I WANT to pay what I owe, but you all make it so wretchedly difficult I will never understand how you manage $14b in assets. So to summarize, I gave my BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION to someone acting on behalf of MACU because I want to give them my money. Person acting on behalf of MACU either wasnt trained well enough or just lied, no ACH transactions ever took place, and to add insult to injury, I still incurred overdraft fees even though I thought I opted out of the service. This is a joke of a credit union, and I regret EVER opening an account with this institution.

I was seeking a recreational loan from this branch and was disrespected, blatantly lied to and disregarded. I made an appointment for my loan, which was ignored as other people were talking with my assigned loan officer when I arrived. I was able to speak to someone else, Cayden, shortly thereafter. Cayden was nice enough as a person, but did not seem to care about my experience as a customer. He asked for unnecessary paperwork before submitting the loan- you do NOT need a bill of sale already signed to receive a loan. I know he has been working there for at least a year because there is a plaque on the wall that states as such, so he should know better. Cayden also sent paperwork with the wrong year on the application to MACUs corporate office, causing unnecessary delays. I submitted my loan on a Friday and wanted to know the timeline of events so I could coordinate with the selling party, so I asked if their corporate review offices were open on Saturdays, fully expecting them to not be. Cayden had the gumption to look me straight in the eyes and lie to me about it and said, Oh yeah, for sure. They work the same hours as us on Saturdays. Okay, perfect. I am told that it may be done end of day, even better news. I am anxiously awaiting the phone call telling me it is approved, denied or needs to be negotiated. No phone call. Weird, but okay. So I call them, and apparently no one from corporate has looked at it yet. So I wait a day and call again. The lying continues when everyone who answers the phone (typically after 10+ minutes of wait time) fails to mention that corporate is not open. I was anxiously awaiting an answer on Saturday until it clicked when I visited a different branch to withdraw money - I realized I was lied to and continually disrespected by this bank. So I went and bought my vehicle cash instead of letting these incompetent goons have my business. I have been banking with MACU for over 10 years. This interaction has made me look at other options for banks. I do not think other people should tolerate this level of disrespect and incompetence either. Their customer service was severely lacking and incredibly unprofessional. Please go elsewhere.

I am NOT happy. Banker Bryant here ran my credit without my permission. I actually clearly expressed I do not want you to run my credit during the call. Come to find out, he did anyways. NOT HAPPY about the shadiness of the call and reading my social security number over the phone to me and processing an inquiry on my account. Very poor experience!

Came in to apply for a loan and open an account. Got there 30 mins before they closed. I understand I was pretty late. But, when you come and ask how you can help me just to tell me you cant help me do anything because opening an account or applying for a loan takes 30-45 mins and I can do it online, just tell me youll take my info and call me Monday because its too late on the day, and you dont want to stay. Dont offer help youre not willing to give. America First, here I come.

I left work a little early today to rush over and get a new card printed at this location because cards through this credit union aren t engraved so the numbers are missing after some time. I did try to request one online but it s been over a week and still nothing in the mail. When I did arrive at the branch, there was only one lane in the drive-through open and so I sat there for about 10 minutes and then when I was finally helped, the gentleman in the drive-through (I think his name was Dylan?) States that it is now 6 o clock and that the lobby is closed so I will have to come back tomorrow. I let him know that I ve been waiting to be helped and that I forgot that a card couldn t be made in the drive up (I used to work there) and so he then continues to tell me that I m more than welcome to run to the front doors and see if security will let me in. I thought he was joking but he was completely serious. He then proceeded to ask for help and goes and gets Kenia? Who then proceeds to tell me the exact same thing he does and my response was simply that if they would ve just allowed me to come in then the card would ve been created by now because they only take 3 to 5 minutes to make. She then proceeds to tell me that the card machine was already turned off (why prior to the branch closing I m unsure) and it takes 35 minutes for it to heat up and create new cards. I m absolutely mind blown with how I was treated at this credit union. You aren t a bank.. that s what banks are supposedly known for..where has the member service gone? Super frustrating to say the least because I m still without a card and will have to try to leave early again another day. Get it together MACU.

Never use their ATM to deposit cash. It verified all of my cash and then HELD MY CASH for two days before depositing into my account! So awful. Why even verify the money if youre going to wait until the machine is serviced to deposit?

Horrible. Their account specialist Spencer B. told me that they dont do limit increases on secured credit cards, so I opted to open a whole new credit card aside from my secured. Got approved and opened the account. The trouble is that he told me to expect a new account, but then changed it up at the last minute and simply unsecured my secure card to increase the limit rather than opening a new account like wed discussed. He never bothered to inform me that this is what he doing and the result is that my finances are now a complete mess because I thought I had the ability to separate expenses by account when I did not and no one bothered to inform me. When I emailed him about this to clarify, he didnt even bother to respond. I had to spend an entire lunch hour in the branch just to get answers about what happened. Utterly shameful example of customer service. I have a good mind to file a CFPB complaint against these guys.

Went in yesterday for a small business loan for the tree company I own, and was told I needed to get my 2021 tax documents. Found them, and went in today and talked to a different loan agent. Without looking at the documents the previous agent asked me to get, and before he even got my ID, he was already saying no. Without running credit, without doing any actual work. Got up once and asked his manager and came back with a smug smile and chuckled while saying they could do absolutely nothing . Without looking at the documents the previous agent asked. After ten years, I ll be finding a credit Union that follows up on their advertising for being small business oriented.

My experience with MACU is the worst! The Loan officer Ruby Avila was very unprofessional when I went in to acquire documents for my auto loan. I am in the service industry and let me tell you, I know a bad working attitude from a good one. We did not get greeted, she just looked at us to start talking, and when we were telling her about our inquiry, we handed her documents, and not once did she take a look, or confirm on the documents that we handed to her, what we would need to get our problem taken care of. I did not feel like Ruby Avila was trying to help us at all. She seemed upset to see us there, and had a very unhelpful attitude towards us. She had a that s your problem not mine attitude, which makes me so upset because why are you even hired to work the position you re in if you lack customer service due to your poor attitude? If my review makes it to the managers, I would please urge you to give some training on customer service and good attitude. We went to the DMV and they said they are waiting for documents from MACU. I was so upset because if Ruby Avila had a better attitude and a helping attitude, I wouldn t be going back and forth with the DMV and MACU. Because of Ruby Avila s negligence, i now have to set another day off of my job, and another appointment with the DMV JUST DUE TO THE FACT THAT SHE DID NOT WANT TO DO HER JOB PROPERLY!

Dont waste your money on paper rolls to roll coins to exchange for cash at banks. I got to the bank and was refused of my rolled up coins from the teller. Money is only excepted how a business says they will except it these days. I spent about a half hour doing it there way. I came in on another day and the lady helping in the drive thru asked how I want my money and I told her hundred dollar bills are fine and she says okay. When I get my money it was a mix of different bills. Customer service is listening to the customer not doing the opposite.

I was looking to start renovations for my home and after researching options decided to do a HELOC loan, friends recommended mountain america credit union due to the positive experience they had, I initially tried to apply online but had difficulty and miscommunication with them so I decided to go in person. The gentleman I spoke seemed knowledgeable about the process and relayed it would straightforward after discussing my needs they relayed we could also do a bridge loan to consolidate debt and still have funds for the renovation. With the estimated rates it appeared that everything would work out and Id have lower payments so I went through the process and the contractor i had been working we peoceeded and planned when the payment would be. The issues began after that verbally the amount had been discussed and confirmed unbeknownst to me the underwriter changed the amount to 40% lower than what was discussed and that change was never communicated to me until the final paperwork which unfortunately due to my schedule that day and being in a hurry I didnt catch the difference and signed. When the loan funded I went into my local branch to get the funds, and saw that I wouldnt have enough funds for the payment to the contractor due to the consolidated loan accounting for most of the HELOC. I spoke with a seperate loan officer and that is when someone updated me on the loan difference but there were no notes as to why or confirmation that someone had told me. On top of that HELOC loans only need a savings account opened, the loan officer I had orginally spoken opened a SECOND savings account, a checking account and a debit account which was NEVER discussed. I also found out that the loan officer gave outdated policy information about calculating the loan which would have affected my decision to proceed. When I called back the only option was to open a signature loan that had higher rates than my prior one. A manager called me back and relayed we could try to work something out with the rates which I appreciated but after this experience if I could close everything I would! What I took away is that the loan officers are not on top of their jobs and unless its on a document anything they verbally relay has no bearing on the final product and beware of extra products they open without disclosing it.

I LOVE Mountain America Credit Union!!!! My credit union has been amazing to me and my husband! I absolutely love their in a pinch financial options, I love how they work with you when you need help, I love that they re willing to remove fees for extenuating circumstances, I love how kind the Customer service agents are, i love the $1000 instant loan with low interest & 6 equal payments, I love that they have our back when it comes to improving our credit and loans and giving us credit cards, in fact I just love everything about our credit union and because the mountain America my credit score has gone up 60 points since getting our account and paying loans and credit cards back but they ve given us. They have helped us so much and we are very grateful!! In fact, we plan to buy our home through MACU. Thanks MACU for everything!!! You re amazing & we will tell everyone!!

Lines always seem to be super long here and the loan officers who are sitting up front with no one at their desks are not super helpful. We had our name on the list with 3 loan officers sitting at their desks not on their computers and still had to wait which was super bizarre. Prefer the SugarHouse branch but its not open on Saturday (womp)

I so enjoy going here. The tellers are all very nice. The loan office has very nice people to. When I received a big check they were very helpful in what was to be done with it. Thank you Mountain America Credit Union for being here.

There isn t any point in making an appointment online because you will have to wait for a while anyways. However, their workers are great. Elijah Garner helped me and he was fantastic to work with. He was easy going and straight to the point and really helped me pick out the best options for me. He even sent me a personalized email a few days later making sure everything was fine with my new cards. I would definitely recommend getting help from Elijah if you can.

I will never have used a bank account with Big Banking again! This Mountan team is great and I have never ran into any issues. Especially when I took out a loan for The Incident. I have no complaints and am happy to Support

If I could give this bank a -5 stars I would, but sence I cant Ill just say that they have changed me on many occasions unjustly with no remorse. I will be going too a different bank and would recommend the same for everyone else #banks are theaves, especially this one

If you are looking to speak to a person at a desk, space out about 1-2 hours to sit in a chair waiting. Very unsatisfied and will return to my local Woods Cross branch from now on

I opened the checking and savings account over the phone took my ID in on my break from work, I was literally out of there in 20 minutes. Elijah helped me and also told me they could refinance my car did the paperwork after I left and I signed it online. It was the best experience I have ever had banking.

They didnt want to help me out with a cash advance like I have gotten helped with before. But its not like I havent done it before. I have, they said we cant do that for you. I walked out of there so upset and just frustrated. And confused. This happened on a Saturday just before they closed too. You guys should do better than this. Thanks for the disappointment. I have to go to another branch that will want to help.

Bank teller with short, spiky blond hair was so kind to me I nearly cried. Helped me change the name on my account and card quickly and painlessly. Didnt even mind waiting in line for 30 mins on a Monday morning.

In need of updated computer systems so that business can be completed via email and text. For example, they need to talk with you on the phone before they can pull a credit report sounds antiquated to me. They only know how to use the phone and meet in person here. Every time I email them they call me back, not reply to my email. I have excellent credit and income, but somehow I have to do all the work to get a loan make it easy MACU.

This credit union needs to hire more experienced tellers. They also should make them full time and give them benefits. I cant believe the turnover rate. I also cant believe that its Tuesday and I am still having to wait in line. If you need to take care of anything you might as well get in your car and drive to a branch, if not you will be on hold forever. Then they will tell you that they can help you. This is unacceptable. I will be shopping a new financial institution soon.

MACU is The definition of over promising and under delivering. 0 accountably for there actions. Though I m assured this is a isolated event, that does not negate the fact it happened. 10 of 10 would not recommend just go into your local bank and work with them.

I used to love this place. But they have been messing up like crazy. I have a small business. And every time it comes to paychecks they always have a issue. Todays lovely excuse is there wasnt enough money in the account. Witch there definitely is. And when I had them talk to the manager. He had some lame excuse the the numbers looked like a old account. So it didnt go through. I really dont know how much more I can handle with this place. It something new every time.

Is it common practice at this location to turn away people who have been waiting at the drive-up? When I arrived, the drive-up lane had the OPEN sign lit up. 6:00 came around (closing time) while I was waiting in line, so the teller shut the window and told me they were closed. Common courtesy in business is that you finish helping the people who were already there before closing time.

I love my branch! Every time I go there to wire or to get something Notarize, make a loan. Everyone there is so professional, kind, welcoming, so helpful, and if they can t help they find someone who can.. my branch ROCKS!!

Ive banked with Z, WF, K and Ch... All of them pale in comparison to MACU. MACU is great in every way. No fees. Very helpful. Courteous. Available. Clean. Convenient. I highly recommend opening an account. Its changed my financial life for the better!

Literally the worst financial institution doesnt even deserve 1 star. Horrible employees & customer service is the worst. Seriously do not open accounts here unless you want to experience the worst financial help & you can come here if you want the worst experience ever. The employee literally sitting around not doing anything besides talking about their personal lives in the lobby/teller area , no one greets you. Just plain the worst experience ever.

I went in to get my card replaced. They replaced it very quickly! Right after, I asked about applying for a credit card, and they were able to get me signed up right away. This is the first time I ve been to this branch I will more than likely come back (:

The wait is ridiculously long. 5-6 people in front of me when I got in line. 15 minutes later and still 3 people ahead of me.

You might get laughed at. Went there in for a loan and waked straight up to the teller for a simple change in my account instead since I didn t feel comfortable when I first walked in nor when I walked out. I miss the location on 3rd south and state.

Since they closed that other downtown branch the lines have been ridiculously long inside and the drive-thru. Everybody there was working hard to get everybody through as quick as possible but there was a lot of people and the wait in line is hard on us old folks.

Every single thing about my experience applying for a MACU loan was dismal. Weeks went by without communication. I visited the branch to complain and was assured by the manager and in-bank loan rep theyd look into it. That day the loan officer sent me an email that he was too inundated to communicate with applicants and because he was so busy it put a strain on some of his applications. After a 1 day flurry of emails, complete black hole silence again. I do not believe it should take 7 weeks to approve or deny a simple loan application. I do not believe the burden of communication should rest entirely on the customer because MACU employees are too busy or too unsupported to provide basic customer support. MACU failed completely to deliver their advertised Placing Members First.

Pre-covid, in-person they were quite helpful. Ive been waiting a week for a return call. This has my experience with the last few interactions with Mountain America Credit Union in general. No one will return my call. Used to be great.

Not quite right. I just dont get why every time I go there to do something so simple, the interaction just seems so broken. Just now, I was holding on the phone while Andrew went to get the manager...For 11 minutes I had to listen to an insipid recording/advertisement of a woman with a gravely annoying voice over and over and over. Why oh why would I be surprised? Every time I use their drive-thru its like they are training someone new there. Every.Single. Time. Why does this place always seem so broken or off...something is definitely not right. . . I see my review garnered a response, which is nice. I have to clarify that my review above was for the 700 S State St branch and its the drive through tellers there that I really dont think are adequately trained...

This was the branch that had loan officers and management that got me to join MACU. Since then they have driven away senior loan officers under their new management, have drama between the PC crowd and their senior staff who actually have life experience. This place has become the opposite of a melting pot in interest of people feelings it seems and the customer has suffered. All I needed was a notary today and I sat in the lobby for half an hour before deciding to leave and go to another Bank where I also keep funds. Probably going to have to move all my accounts if this is the service that MACU offers now. Just another company falling to the woke 2020s.

Don t recommend going here if you need anything done quickly. They are constantly understaffed and have the slowest drive up in slc. Love macu, this location just seems to struggle with the volume of members.

They have always done what they can to help and got me out of a pinch multiple times. They will work with you to keep your account open and continue business with them. Ive been banking with MACU for nearly a decade. Ive used different branches and all of the staff have been helpful, nice, and prompt with service. Recently I have been working with CJ Dever at this branch and he has done a spectacular job. He has returned every phone call, and been able to help me with a myriad of topics and issues. I dont want to leave MACU because of the service that I have received.

CJ helped my boyfriend and I with our auto loan. He was incredibly helpful, friendly and fast. He provided us with superb customer service. It only took a few hours for us to go from looking at the car we wanted to actually owning it. Thank you CJ and MACU for this great experience. I highly recommend this institution!
