Hi internet people! This is my review of this amazing bank. After the experiences with my last bank I was naturally skeptical about trying another one. But after going through the process with Diana it was super simple and fast. I would definitely recommend this bank to anyone but especially first time users or people who haven't had the best experience with your last bank. Youre better off going somewhere else. Their tellers are less than clear on elucidating various issues or queries you might have. It makes a simple task a baffling ordeal. If you want contrived scripted answers and empty, vacant looks then go here. Otherwise avoid the frustration, save yourself the trouble and just go elsewhere (like an entirely different bank or credit union)

There is a bank at the end of my street. There is a credit union just around the corner. I don t know how many banking institutions there are in downtown SLC. But I ride the bus down to DFCU. Often. Since 2008. I bank in person whenever I can. My friends work at this branch. They treat me as if I belong. If there s a line behind me they show some hustle. Otherwise they talk to me about more than just dollar signs. I live in a retirement and disability home, and I always recommend the team at this DFCU location. I wanted to share my recent experience at your downtown branch. Im a regular user and have always received great service from your staff, which Ive grown used to and appreciate. However, during my recent visit to renew my credit card, I encountered an issue. The woman who served me wasnt outright rude, but I sensed some negative vibes without any apparent reason. After giving my ID for the renewal, I waited for about five minutes near her station, unsure if I should stay or find a seat. She seemed to have forgotten about me, not communicating or giving any updates. Even when she was done typing my data, she didnt return my ID. I had to ask her if she still needed it and if I could go and sit. It wasnt the welcoming experience Im used to at your credit union. There was no smile or acknowledgment during the interaction, leaving me disappointed. I value my relationship with Deseret Credit Union and appreciate the positive experiences Ive had. I hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience at your downtown branch. Thank you and looking forward to future visits with the usual great service Im accustomed to.

I love DFCU SLC! Super helpful, kind, and efficient! Diane and Taylor helped my husband and I, and were able to turn a number of difficult issues into a positive experience! I highly recommend working with Diana because she is very knowledgeable and warm! She made sure to not only solve everything we had to do but also checked for any additional ways we could increase our credit and get better benefits in our card! She is detail oriented and very sweet! I highly recommend Taylor because he too provided continuous help and insights to help us get the best deal! If we could give 0 stars we would. My husband I are both working full time regular business hours. I called the branch ahead of time to see if I could come open a joint account with him as the primary account holder and was told I could and he did not need to be there in person as long as I had his information. After taking work off and arriving at the bank I was told he did have to be there, but we could at least fill out some of the information and he could sign digitally. So I spent time filling out detailed information. When he got the docusign forms the information was wrong. So he took off time from work and went in. When he arrived, he was told that now I had to be there to sign forms, because despite telling me that everything on my side was done, they had neglected to get the needed signatures. They offered to send it digitally for me to sign and then proceeded to send it to his email. When he corrected them, they sent it to my email but I never received it. Finally, we both took off work and went in. We spent another hour filling out more information that theoretically had all been filled out. We finally were able to open one account, but were told we needed some additional documentation to complete another application. This was the 4th time weve talked to them. It was the first time additional documents were mentioned. We were beyond frustrated by this point and left. Today we tried to log on to our joint account which we had both signed for and which we were assured was joint. Only one of us is on the account. We have now left work early 3 times, spent several hours at this bank, and our account is still not correct. Maybe other branch locations are better, but if you can avoid this location I would.

I had a loan and unannounced to me I was charged over 2k dollars for a supposed laps in insurance. No notice or nothing. Garbage I am cancelling my loan and no longer going to use them. Stay away

The good: Sydney and Manuel have always been polite and explained things well before moving forward. Never pushy. Very nice. They got my wife a credit card which helped build her credit, even though she didnt have a permanent residency in the US yet. We were grateful for that. The bad: We arrived for an auto loan and I was disappointed when Sydney did a hard inquiry on my credit before I got a chance to ask a few more questions. We went forward with the loan application and after getting pre-approved and having the purchasing contract sent to them, they increased the proposed interest rate by 0.75% at the last minute because the underwriter thought the miles were too high (150,000 miles on a Hyundai). I have an almost 800 credit score, I pay a mortgage, and have a couple credit cards. Any other lender would have given a much better interest rate. I went over to a different credit union and got the interest rate nearly cut in half for the same vehicle. So they lost my business for the auto loan because their interest rate was ridiculous.

I am so impressed with this credit union. Manuel, Stefan and staff there are super nice and so incredibly efficient. I got approved the same day and got check for my auto loan the next day. They gave me cards and set up accounts without any hassle and fuss. I didnt ask for it but they told me they have special relationship with Intermountain and reduced my interest rate by 0.25% which made a huge difference in rate. Manuel communicated through phone and email very quickly. I highly recommend them. Fantastic credit union and they are open until 6pm. Park in Harman lot, theres dedicated spots on the left side as you enter the parking lot.

I have loved working with Spencer. Hes helped me with a HELOC, an RV Loan and two car loans. It has hands down been the easiest experience I have ever had with a banking institution. Hes responsive, quick, and just gets things done, basically over email. Easy, efficient with better terms and more approvals, great work!

I m originally from California and was exited to learn about Deseret first credit union. I have had a car loan and other accounts with them for the last couple of years. They have always been professional and willing to help. I recommend them to all my family and friends.

I have had nothing but Good to say about Deseret First Credit Union Bank. Its always a good experience when i go to D.F.C.U. They are helpful and nice.

I ve call and they have our insurance information for our car loan. They won t stop charging the account. We have car insurance and pay quite a bit every month and haven t missed a payment. I ve talk to 3 people regarding this- they still have charged my account- STOP!!! The refinance didn t go smooth either- they had already pulled out credit- then they pulled it again and it knocked our score Down 6 points! We were on the middle of a refinance! I m getting tired of babysitting your mistakes that have cost us money. The only positive thing I can say is customer service is pleasant to speak to-

I changed from Welfargo to this bank because it is supposedly good. But about 3 or 4 months ago I made a report because I bought through a group and the card came out, I passed it several times and in the end I made the purchase twice. Hise reclaim for those purchases I never went to was an oil change. I sent them to cancel. It turns out that they returned the money after more than a month and yesterday the bank took the money from me again and overdrawn my account. Its disrespectful. We complain if they rob you or whatever it takes to get your money back is a pain and it takes months I will definitely settle accounts with them and I will leave their bank it is not possible for the complaints to take Santos nor for one to be a millionaire to wait so long for your money. I do not recommend this bank. No matter what they say about Welfargo, I have never had as many problems as I have with this bank getting my money back. Its a relief without the fact that I have my cards canceled because they were stolen from me and I didnt cancel them. What irresponsibility. What lack of everything, I am very upset with them, it is definitely not possible like this.

Ive been trying to sell my car for over a month and have been given the run around on who can help/told by people thats not my job theyve since overcharged me on a car I no longer have possession of, and have been extremely difficult to work with. Going to be closing out my accounts and taking my business elsewhere.

Deseret First Credit Union CARES. I am going to be really objective to make it real. I had a bad experience in my fist contact but they literally took less than a day to contact me and personally review my case. their credit card options and banking really fit for what we are looking for as a new family. After they promise to fix the issue, they actually did, and to be honest I wasn t expecting anything from a bank just because they fail on clients pretty often but this guys change that. The website and app are extremely frustrating to use. I hope they got their programmers/IT support for very cheap. The features are quirky enough it frightened me to think about all the issues they probably dont even know about which might compromise my money. It definitely doesnt inspire confidence! For example, when I have checked the Skip A Payment option on the bill pay mobile app (but not if done on the website), it cancels the entire SERIES of payments instead of just skipping a payment! When using the website, only the Bill Pay section wont work if browser settings arent set to allow cookies, but the instructions which come up to change the settings link to an entirely DIFFERENT website and NO instructions. My guess is its the landing page of the site they copied the code from. There is also the smaller things like Bill Pay history being limited to 18 months which eliminates any year-over-year reporting and comparisons. In general, I found the experience to be one frustration after another, but its not like its a financial institution or anything. Oh, wait!

Very disrespectful to my mother and grandmother. They called my grandma crazy, not capable, and not aware . Go to a different Deseret location with nicer people.

unnecessary high fees . not putting money into correct account. having to check upon them. non-helpful. UN-FRIENDLY AND WILL TALK DOWN TO YOU. Ill pay a higher interest rate before i use this BANK not credit union again. They are not part of the credit union co-op so they cannot transfer money to and fro!

This has to be the worst credit union in utah! Very unprofessional loan officers/staff. They treat their customers with no respect. I would not recommend this credit union to anyone and would advise anyone to know that it is a shady business. I will never again have any business with this credit union.

Where to start. Im a CPA, I understand how loans work. 100% of the time I felt that I had to tell them what to do. Closing officer dropped the ball a week before closing, did not answer emails, phone calls, nothing. After copying his manager on the communication, I receive a call the day before closing, and am asked for documents I had provided two months prior to that, but that were apparently not in my file. Gladly forwarded them everything. Closing disclosure had to be redone about five times. Website extremely outdated.

I love the missionary savings account ! They gave me a pretty high apr for my credit card coz Im an international student but their debt consolidation loans are legit and extremely useful!

Terrible service in City creek downtown Branch.. They act like your going to ask for a favor even when your making a payment... Stephanie was the teller such a an idiot an with no Profesional skills to take care customers .. Choose another Banks or credit unions ... They dont deserve your bussiness
