I just can’t wait to take my home loan out of this bank and take it to a bank that CARES AND HAS MORE STANDARS

First experience was great. I stopped by after work close to close to make a withdrawal. Unfortunately, I can't remember the lady's name that helped me at the counter. Her service was great. She helped me change my savings account to a money market savings with a higher interest rate.
Second experience today was disappointing. I scheduled an appointment at 12:00 to meet with Camilo to discuss a new vehicle loan. I checked in 5 minutes before the appointment and waited in the waiting area. The loan officer walked out the door about 5 minutes past my appointment time. I ended up waiting 15 minutes past my appointment time before giving up. Disappointed in the professionalism. I'll stick with the American Fork location I think.

Banking with these guys has been great over the years, However.. I just took out an auto loan and was told that I could research the warranty company and add it later. Just now found out that wasn't true. and their phone system is a nightmare. I just felt that I needed to update my review since clearly things have changed.

I have been very happy with my experience with this Mountain America branch. Kyle Delahoyde was incredible with processing of paperwork, clearly communicating the process and what was expected on my end, and how timely I needed my application to process with my Home Equity Loan application. He was very patient with the amount of questions I had, and the amount of extra paperwork I needed. I was very impressed with his professionalism.
With that, every time I've gone through the drive through of this branch, I'm always greeted warmly, which is nice.
Overall, I've enjoyed my experience banking with Mountain America Credit Union thus far, and would recommend them to everyone.

I was waiting for more than 1 hour with my baby, for someone about loans. There were no more people waiting and when it was free someone went to talk to the cashiers. There was someone just using their cell phone and didnt even ask me if I had anything to do with it. Its the second time Ive come and Ive already given up.

The customer service rep at MACU reversed 2 automatic recurring charges that were supposed to b blocked after I reported the billing companys email to her that literally went exactly opposite to what they did. AND she blocked them from having any future access to my account! Astounding level of customer service AND knowledge in how to deal with it in a way that waived MACUS $20 fee for this service. Score 1 for the good guys for a change.

The only reason I put money here is because it s so hard to get to it. Makes it more of a headache to pull money out than to just adjust your budget. It s ridiculous. Just to deposit a check I waited 28 min. When I get a few things in order I will be banking somewhere else.

I have really appreciated this Bank. In all my adult life this has been by far the best bank I have dealt with and Im in my 50s. Customer service is awesome and I feel more like family every time I go in. I like the fact that the lobby is open until 6:00 P. M.

I am really impressed by this MACU branch, and have had very positive experiences since I ve started going here several months ago. In the past six months, I have had the pleasure of working with Brandon in a few different situations regarding my personal finances. Overall, I really enjoy this Mountain America Credit Union location. The staff is always extremely helpful, and has been great to me over the past year or so as I conduct my local electrician business, as well as my personal finances and home mortgage. However, after trying to use the drive-through ATM 4-5 times over the past 1-2 months, it has been either - *A- Out of service; *B - Not dispensing any cash even though it says its going to, and/or *C - I have to go into the branch itself to make deposits or withdrawals. Unless the issues with this locations ATM are resolved in the near future, I might have to start using a different Mountain America Credit Union location to do my daily banking needs. Kindly, Sean M. Ive been a member for several years and done business at probably fifteen MAC branches. This is the first time Ive been inclined to leave a negative review for any branch. The service I received was just really poor, certainly well below the standards set by other branches. If you are in the neighborhood, I recommend taking the extra time to visit the Orem branch which has exceptional service based on my experience.

Ive been to 4 or 5 Mountain America Credit Union branches and have never once had any kind of negative experience. I usually use the Highland branch but during this last experience I was at the Provo 5th w. branch. I was greeted kindly as always and the young lady helping me was great. It got better when. I said something to her that made me laugh but she was being sweet and making me feel good by telling me that I was fine and not to feel silly. We both got a few giggles in and it was good. Then a couple of minutes later I of course said something else that made me sound like a total dork again and I immediately started laughing at myself again. This time she had to laugh too and I was so glad to see how fun and light hearted and REAL she was instead of her standing there with a fake smirk just trying to humor me and then laughing behind my back and talking trash about me after I left. I wish I could have remembered her name because its not on the receipt because I thought she was awesome. At the pleasant Grove office Ive had fun conversations with a couple of their clerks about an ad running on a TV behind the customer service desk about dogs and Ive had funny conversations with an account specialist full of laughs at the Highland branch. Hey Mountain America, thanks for having such fun employees.

We have banked with MACU for a few years and they were fine. Nothing great, nothing horrible. In 2019 we decided to do an addition to our home and started working on getting a construction loan with them. It was a nightmare from the start. I kept thinking I should just move our loan to another credit union, but I held out hoping MACU would get their stuff together. They never did. In the end we paid thousands of dollars more then we should have. My contractor said it was the worst experience he s ever had with a credit union. They were slow to approve things and slow to make payments. We finally finished, taking 6 months longer then it should have, and changed our construction loan to a 30 year fixed. After signing closing papers, we found out we still had to pay $3700 in two days or pay a daily late fee of $38. I know some people have a good experience with them, but know you are taking a chance that it will be like many other peoples experience and end up hating this credit union and paying a lot of extra money.

Love Mountain America. Im fairly new to the finance world, but Ive opened accounts with other banks and MACU is by far the best one out there - its easy, its efficient, and theres pretty much no fees, unlike every other bank. I have been banking with MACU for over 3 years now while I have been transitioning into the real world I can say, hands down, Karlie was the BEST associate I ve worked with. No question was a dumb one and she even gave me tips on what I should be doing NOW to ensure I can hit some financial goals I want to hit THEN. Had some kind of unusual problem with our mortgage account. Matthew sat with us and took charge in determining the issue. Made calls, talked to others, searched on the computer. He found an entry error on our information. After correcting it, all was determined to be in order. He was very kind and respectful to us. His services were much appreciated.

I went in to the bank in the middle of a crisis. I believed that my account had been compromised and wanted to know my options. I am in the process of switching all of my banks over to MACU because they have been so helpful and I love that they have a very functional and up-to-date app which makes my banking process so much easier. Also, if you ever need help with anything like loans or credit cards, request Maddie Bergstrom. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and got my loan the same day. I was kind of embarrassed going in needing a personal loan after COVID19 hit me hard financially, but she totally made me feel much better about my finances and assured me that, life happens and that this bank is here to help. Went in to speak to Keir. Setting up minor saving account. Stood in line for teller, she said she would tell him I was there, just have a seat. Sat for ten minutes, Mckay comes over to seats, takes another customer that I was there before. Finishes that customer, comes for another, I ask about Keir. Oh Keir has gone home already. So Mckay helps me. Sets up the account, would not make the deposit for me, says go back in line for teller, now Im behind three people again. Another 10-15 min later I get to teller to make the deposit, took about 30 seconds. Why couldnt Mckay do that? He was busy playing with his phone! So 45 min. to open an account. Could have been a better customer experience.

Absolutely the worst experience I ve ever had with a bank! The workers didn t know how to answer my question. Told me the bill pay cannot guarantee when a payment will be sent to the receiver. The manager didn t know how to help or what my question was as well. Never going back to this branch!

Poor Customer Service. A Bank That Takes Pride in Scamming Kids. I set up my kids with accounts during a promotion that gave the kids zoo tickets. It wasnt a big deal but the kids were excited about it. They were out of tickets at the branch, but promised to mail it. They never sent it. We checked back and they promised to send them. They never sent them. This happened a few more times. I went back to check today because they had the promotion back and asked if they would finally make it right. After having to wait for 20 min for the employee to talk to the manager, they came back and said they were unwilling to help us. Really, you are going to take advantage of kids. Poor form. Definitely, wouldnt recommend them to anyone and will do everything I can to minimize banking with them.

Great bank and I ve used it for a while but my visit to the ATM to make a deposit was dreadful. It ate half my bills returned the other half and retained my card!! I was at the ATM for an hour trying to figure out what happened on the phone with customer service while cars were lining up behind me. Now I have to go in tomorrow and miss work because they messed up and now I have to file a dispute for the money they took and go through this long complicated process for a mere $20. It s ridiculous! Does anyone know if MACU has a way to compensate me for time and hassle?

I do not like this location of MACU I love the bank as a whole but this location is terrible. The teller who helped us open a joint account was very judgements of my fiancé and I. Especially towards me and not only that we stood in line for about 15 minutes and as soon as someone became available they told us to go sit for another 10 minutes and we are shrugged off as if we don t matter. I understand that banks get busy but there were at least 4 tellers in the back just laughing and talking while a line is forming. I m just asking to please talk with your staff about this and work on their behavior.

My mom came here trying to get more info on transferring all her accounts here since she was recommended by a friend on their services. She was trying to speak to the Spanish speaking bank consultant to make sure she fully understands what they offer but was stopped by another consultant because the Spanish speaker was busy. My mom said no thank you that she can wait but was repeatedly told that she (the other bank consultant) can help her now, and repeatedly my mom said no. It got to the point that it looked like she was trying to create a show and an uncomfortable situation. There is a fine line between customer service savvy and just being plain rude. We were definitely serviced better at a different location.

I have been paying my daughters school loan two months a head ever since we got the loan. I get a receipt saying my next payment is due August 31st. I begin getting letters and phone calls saying I am late. I go to the provo branch on Saturday since I work Monday through Friday. We wait in line for over 30 minutes to get up to the window for the cashier to rudely asks us if I m paying with a card from another bank then says too bad you will have to go to the orem bank we can t take that here! My husband said so you re saying you will not take our payment after waiting for over 30 minutes? She rudely says yep! And shuts the drawer then rolling her eyes. Worst customer service ever. Don t have it open if you cannot help customers and maybe have a supervisor on site to handle staff that aren t handling customers politely in a timely manner.

Always issues and banking with them is a big headache. Never makes it easy to make payments. Ive been calling for several months to adjust the automatic payments to make sure it is all covered and also set up auto payment for mortgage and it hasnt processed. I called the customer service line again and they tell me im not authorized even though my name is in there and social and Ive been doing this for forever. Also they delayed us on our construction loan 2 months for things that they keep asking to turn in over and over and over and we are always punctual so we could have this going. Thought after all this bad experience, it would get easier, but not, ...just as simple as a payment at the branch takes me like 30 to an hour, and over the phone was faster until today... on top of that, I tried to set up online banking to avoid any interaction and take care of business by myself, and because my husband is the primary account holder .and im the secondary, I dont get to have online banking! They tried it at the branch and took over an hour at the teller line which was a surprise to me, and it is hard with 2 babies, so inconvenient. Also few weeks ago we got a call from collections department showing that we never made our payments, and turned out that YOU guys entered the wrong information when we converted into a long term mortgage. Mistakes like these, makes wonder how are you still in business! 1 mistake is understandable but ALL THE TIME?!!!!!

Mountain America as a whole, we love and have never had an issue with. We lived in Logan for years and the branch on 1400 N was always incredibly helpful. Heidi in the Provo branch however, needs to consider a new line of work that doesnt involve keeping customers loyal. She called my wife today with an attitude wondering why she hadnt come in yet to fix a title error from a recent vehicle purchase. An error that was between the dealership and MACU. No, were not sitting around everyday looking for errands to run. Were both busy with jobs and life and fixing someone elses mistake wasnt high on our priority list. Are we scatter brained sometimes? Absolutely. We forgot to bring the forms back in. Guilty. Her rudeness just caught us off guard and was very unprofessional. Not a good way to encourage loyalty. Based on this experience and other reviews, well be staying away from the Provo branch.

They re too busy to help you if you re trying to get a loan or open an account. There are usually people sitting in their offices while there are multiple people waiting to apply for loans and get help with their accounts. Tellers are efficient though so even though there is usually a line you ll get to talk to them and make a deposit, printing a new card, etc. fairly quickly. Getting in and out of the parking lot is tricky but the location is convenient so that s fine I guess. I only go to this location if I m making an atm transaction, the Orem location by Red Lobster is better than this one and it isn t as busy. The Orem location also has treats and prizes for coming in when I go, this Provo location doesn t.

My wife and I were looking to transfer everything to another financial institution and when we went into Mountain America we were well received. We worked with Jasen and he was amazing. Very professional but also very interested in us as people. He quickly becomes friends with everybody and he helped us get exactly what we needed. We are very happy with joining MACU and Jasen is a huge reason why.

Sorry for the negative review but we just walked out and gave our money to Zion Bank down the street. We walked in, sat and were not acknowledged by anybody for 20 minutes. I asked the teller if we were in the right place to open a new account and she rudely asked me to sit back down. The manager in the office right next to us never looked or spoke to us. The front desk person had a employee at his desk and was in a deep conversation with her, also never acknowledged our presence. The other desk had a customer but never came up and asked us to wait or apologize for the long delay, heck anything would have been good. My next review will be on Googles site for Zions Bank in Provo which was an amazing experience hence they have my money now. At the end of the day its how the Manager trains his/her staff plain and simple.

Ive had a phenomenal experience working with Jasen! He helped me refinance our car loan, and get set up for a second one! He is very well informed on the products he has to offer, and he did a great job of educating me on those while not being pushy! Ive never felt more comfortable with a banking decision in my life! So glad weve found both Jasen and Mountain America CU.

Being the only branch in Provo, they should be able to be a full functioning branch on Saturday. Drive through personnel arent very helpful, they are very limited to what they can do. The lobby should at least be open half the day, like every other bank.

Super slow service. We waited over an hour to be helped. Found out that we had caught them at some lunch cycle at 3 in the afternoon, which seems unlikely and weird since the banks close at 5 and 6. Also its no excuse, you need to have enough people on hand during lunch breaks to cover customer service.

On Saturday July 1st, I went to the Provo branch to deposit money into my landlords account. I have been depositing money into his account for a number of years with only a few issues. I do not have my landlords account number and have only had to give his name and general location of where he lives to deposit the money. On this occasion I wrote out a note and sent the money into the bank (using drive up because MACU does not believe in opening their lobbies on Saturdays) for deposit. The teller asked for his account number which I informed her I did not have and that he was the only person in that city with his name. The teller informed that she could not grantee the money would be deposited into his account without his account number. I asked for my money back and drove back to Spanish Fork to complete the deposit(they have done this transaction in the past for me without my landlords account number.) I was very dissatisfied with the poor service I received for this branch and the employee.

Really great credit union. I have had such a bad experience with Wells Fargo and random fees that people cant explain, as well as bankers who know very little about banking or financial planning. Mountain America bankers are so much more knowledgeable and no hidden fees! So glad I switched to this credit union.

I have been a customer at Mountain America for a few years and have always been pleased with their services, but today my loan experience in the Provo office with Jasen was remarkable. Jasens enthusiasm and energy immediately made him a stand out, it is obvious that he loves his job and loves what he does. Before we even began the loan process Jasen took interest in me and asked questions, not assuming we would be doing business. Relationship building is key in any business transaction and Jasen has it mastered. Jasen was professional and responsive to my needs. He offered a competitive rate and not willing to settle, proceeded to go to bat and lowered the rate once more. Jasen worked quickly and efficiently with the other team members in the office to close this transaction in a timely manner. It is apparent that Jasen is respected among his colleagues and takes great pride in his work. I am a local restaurant owner and customer service is my business, any business owner would be lucky to have an employee with Jasens service aptitude. Jasen, enjoy lunch on me, Ill be dropping by a $50 gift card for you.

I went into Provo Branch | Mountain America Credit Union to get a credit card today and was very nervous; it was my first time applying for a line of credit and Ive heard terrible things. Jasen Poppleton, FSR, was WONDERFUL! He made me feel comfortable, talked me through the entire process and helped me get a great line of credit with a low rate! He was amazing. I love working with Jasen and will refer all my friends and family to the Provo MACU branch!

I bank at this branch and am a little baffled by what just happened. I called in to get some advice, pressed 3 as directed and it just rang with no answer for 2.5 minutes. I wait a few minutes and call back... This time there is an answer... The receiver jostles a little...And then Click they hung up on me!! I used to think of them as a friendly community centric CU. not so sure I was right anymore.

I have been a loyal customer with MACU for about 3 years and they do have great service as tellers, and for making sure stolen cards issues are fixed but apart from that Ive lost my faith in them. We have 4 accounts with them (person and business with checking and savings for each) that have never been negative or even close to. I tried applying with them a few times for a mortgage and the mortgage specialist was never in when I went, so they said they would have them call me. I tried online and was told they would call me then, with nothing. Recently I tried to do an auto loan and was told that I couldnt use my wifes income for pre-approval without her being there (I understand this may be policy), but I didnt want to finalize the loan, just get a look at the numbers. The gentleman wasnt even willing to try, even though we are both on the accounts there. He then said he would call me in about half an hour or so (his words), and I didnt get a call. I finally DID get a call about a week and a half later, after Id already gone with another company. I will probably be switching. I have my auto loans with Security Service and have never once had an issue when working with them. When I applied there they actually got me taken care of. If someone wants my business, they will get it.
