Incredibly frustrated with my experience recently with MACU home loans department. Our loan application expired after Id reached out multiple times (3 emails, one phone call to call center) trying to find out why the silence. The call center rep told me shed ask my home loan rep to reach out (that didnt happen). Federal regulations require home loan apps expire after 30 days. I emailed the rep I was working with 3x since her last communication on 8/14 and she never responded to my emails. Then yesterday, she emailed me! ...only to say the app was closed. She NEVER communicated with me since the 14th. The call center rep was sympathetic and helpful, but I have to start the process all over again, I could cry. That was so much work and time collecting our required docs. I am looking around now for a different bank to get this loan. MACU has been great for my auto loans, but I would be hesitant to use them for home related lending. If you do, be persistent about getting communication, and ask for escalations or management if you are not being communicated to.

Mountain America Credit Union is wonderful! Every time I go into the branch on State Street in Murray, Utah I am treated very very well. Simply the best branch and best staff. I ve been banking here for about 10 years and just now decided to write a review. Much overdue. Jackson is one of the most helpful managers I ve ever met and always willing to go the extra mile. And the staff is top notch. But a special mention for Lisa and how patient she is when I become that customer who can have way too many different things to sort out while I m at her window. David too. And whenever I need a loan, I always hope Monica is available. But MACU also has some amazingly convenient programs out there. From a very easy to get short term loan, to the My Express sub account and so much more, they really do try to create tools meant for helping their members.

I LOVE AMERICAN FIRST CREDIT UNION. Just today I was fasting a horrible issue. So I went into the branch. They were extremely busy. However I caught the attention of a great employee. Here name is Monica. My god I am so grateful for Her she acknowledge me and asked if she could help!! Today my prayers were answered by the Mosr Wonderful Woman here name is Monica. I have fallen on hard times. Lost my job. In November because of the recession and because the state unemployment programs are the worst. I couldn t get help from the unemployment. So I started doing odd job where I could because I am 63 years old. No one would hire. And trust me the elderly are being judged and discriminated against. Govern COX COULD NOT CARE LESS! However Monica saved our LIFE My life today! Thank God for Blessing like her. I love Mt America. Great Company With even GREATER STAFF..Thank you B Smith.

Most Def. not your average credit union, as they went above and beyond, exceeding my expectations, and multiple reps. went out of their way to find the answers i needed as well as had the compassion to let me fully explain in detail the reason for my communication. If you have been following along with my reviews you indeed know this is very important to me and i am representing more than just myself but so many of the disabled community. I m really disappointed with Mountain America. This place is so crowded at all of their locations and it feels impossible to get quick and reliable service. Clearly they need to figure out how to properly service the amount of customers they have. I ve never banked somewhere that has lines and wait times this bad. Seriously, I will likely be switching banks and would suggest you bank elsewhere as well.

Came to the office at 1:30 they were super busy and then I wanted to open an account and one of the English speaking lady s goes and tells me that everyone is super busy but she can try and an open an account but it will be half way through she doesn t know if she would be able to finalize it. Because they do close at 2 but yet what happen to good customer service? I understand their busy but she didn t seem like she wanted to help she suggested to open an account online and someone will reach out. This is my first time at this bank and my last time is sad that someone wants to open an account and can t because she doesn t want to do a lot. I m sure not recommending this bank to anybody. This branch is awesome. We worked with Ana to get my car refinanced, after being quoted over 10% in interest at another institution. We met with her on 2 occasions, and both times she was very knowledgeable and very kind through the whole process. Horrible. No one checked off the option for the (5010) and I wasn t told to use it. So all I put was my account number to get my check. turns out I needed that to get my money for my work. So now I have to go through the process of calling them and further delaying my check from being here all because the person I had set up my account didn t let me know. This is frustrating. Please hire more competent people. This is my first experience with them so, not looking good. I don t feel very confident in my decision choosing MACU.

I just arrived at bank 10 minutes before closing. They did continue to help the customers already in bank. My teller was excellent handling my transaction in a timely manner. He was still so nice professional and energetic even though this was the end of his shift. Mountain America is so much better than that Wells Fargo with all the fees and Wells Fargo attitude tellers. Love MACU.

Usually have a great experience with MACU, but today wasnt so great. Went to the branch on State St because I received a call from the fraud department which I appreciated, although after showing to a rep from the fraud department I was instructed to go to a local branch to have the fraud issue resolved by having to open a whole new account. So by this time is was about 5:30 after speaking to the rep on the phone and I did not want to have to wait until the next business day, but I showed up to the bank with at least 10 minutes, waited in line to get to the teller only to tell me sorry, its 6pm now and were closed. You can come back tomorrow to take care of the issue, Im sorry... I get it, it was closing time and all the reps were with customers, but I only went and left work early because the fraud department had told me to see about getting in sooner than later. All the lady could say was oh I better go lock the doors now. Poor customer service and probably wont be visiting this branch for service.

WORST SERVICE EVER! I waited in line for almost 20 minutes {18.5) at the front of the line. There were 2 lobby tellers, both tied up with MULTIPLE LONG TRANSACTIONS (one customer each). The 2 drive up tellers helped 2 customers in that time and apparently CANT help the lobby because they just sat there while 8 people stood in line. FINALLY someone else came from a desk... Only to tell me the debit card machine, which is why I was there, was broken. Normally Ive had great service, but this is UNACCEPTABLE. Get it together MACU!

Ive been with mountain america for 20 years now and this by far the worst branch Ive had to deal with. They lost the check imaging due to a system crash on their end, threatened me that Im going to have to pay the full amount that the check if I dont get them a copy of the check. Ive tried calling them 4-5 times a day for 2 weeks straight and cant get through to a single person to get more information. Ive left multiple voicemails and have done everything I can to get in contact with them. I ended up calling their service center to get help, the service center couldnt get ahold of the branch manager or anyone at the branch. 0/5 stars would and never will return to this location. If you work at this branch and respond telling me to email you to get this resolved Ill tell you to eat a sock. I went straight to corporate after weeks of troubles, and after 1 hour on the phone I finally got my issue resolved.

My husband and I have been with Mountain America for years and we love their customer service! The Murray branch is the one we use most as it s closest to us. We do a lot of banking almost day to day for my husbands business and I love going there because I m always seeing familiar faces and I always get an excited hello as the employees seem like old friends. I had a horrible experience today, it was sort of busy when we walked in and I didn t mind because I made an appointment about a week ago. I even arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment, and was never acknowledged I had to address someone to make sure they would look into my appointment. Which they said they would and never updated me or thought to tell me they wouldn t be able to see me today. I waited until about 5 minutes before they closed to leave because they kept seeing people before me even when I had already scheduled an appointment. I m very upset and no longer will be looking into any of their services ever. I highly don t recommend this place and their customer service is trash.

This branch is a JOKE and so is Vanessa! Opened up an account here and they gave us mixed paper work with another member and incorrect deposit info. Just found out that the direct deposit went to someone elses account. Lets not talk about all the secure information that the other member got of ours! Vanessa was the one who helped us so beware on her competency if you get stuck with her. We should have made sure every single piece of paper had the correct account number and name on it but since the first couple of pieces were right we missed it and relied to much on the banker to take care of us.

I have liked this bank most of the time.they do have a lot of very nice employees. The other day I had a terrible experience with Tyler in collections.He was very rude and made me feel like I was a low life because I had to take out an overdraft the exact day I got my disability check. He told me now my overdraft from the month before is in collections..I have my check directly deposited every month but I did not wait 24 hrs. Now hes going to close my account. I think Im going to have to move my account some where else.their overdraft fees are terrible!!! They are killing me in OD fees. I finally about 2 weeks ago received some ods back for the first time in 6 yrs.so I am grateful for that. Allot of time before I got my express card they were getting like100 a month from me.i am 62 and on disability.thats my only income. Those fees were adding up. One day Im going to count just how much they got from me in 6 years.

They dont honor appointment you make online. The loan officer Sawyer had excuses of because they are busy on Saturdays that they dont do appointments on Saturdays even though I made an appointment online for saturday. Not really professional at all. Why can I make an appointment online for Saturdays when they dont do appointments on Saturdays? Make no sense at all. Very disappointed. Update: although I had to wait 40 minutes after my appointment time, they were very helpful and friendly.

Every time I m here there is an absurd amount of time spent waiting for an open teller. I entered the credit union at 525 pm and left at 545 pm and I was there for a cash deposit. My time is far more valuable than spent waiting for that. The excuse was poor staffing, yet they are poorly staffed here all the time. I m done. If this branch represented the business as a whole, I d have pulled out my deposits long ago. As it is, I m done with this branch.

I only give 5 stars for above and beyond experiences. My experience this morning, a Saturday, went very smoothly and Paige did an outstanding job helping us with the business we had to take care of. What was above and beyond is that I have never had a quicker and easier experience dealing with my particular matter. Very impressed!

All mountain americas are so incompetent and unprofessional. They must pay so low because any other bank or credit union has more knowledgeable and professional employees. The guy that helped me had on a golf shirt and khakis. Couldnt even tell he worked there

Alexis the teller was great, however the banker that received us when we first entered the door was very rude and not helpful at all. She asked us to sit at her desk. When I told her I needed to close my checking account because MACU was not allowing my payroll to go through and I was being charged account fees due to that she questioned me multiple times very annoyed and said she s never heard of that. I told her it was due to my name change and I didn t see the issue if my accounts with them & paychecks reflect the same name as my government ID ...and she assured me that they wouldn t do that basically calling me a liar to my face. She then told me she wasn t going to help me that I needed to go the teller line because they could also do that for me. Keep in mind there were no customers in the lobby waiting to be helped. She refused to help me, sent me to wait in the long line when she could have helped me but very obviously chose not to and went to the back of the bank and didn t come out. Very disappointed in the customer service from the banker that chose not to help me only because she was very annoyed and most likely due to the fact that I wasn t bringing in new business.

The staff here is always very friendly and helpful with everything... however I personally think that waiting in the drive-through for upwards of 30 minutes with 1-2 cars in front of you isn t all that productive or satisfactory to customers that have a quick transaction warranting the use of an in and out service such as the drive through. If a customer has a particularly lengthy transaction, I feel like it might be more efficient to urge them to come inside if at all possible.

I dont think I could have had a more positive experience than I did today at MACU in Murray. I was helped by both Ana and Sohvana over the course of my two visits, and they were both absolutely wonderful to work with. Helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging :) Already anticipating my next visit!

Everytime I deal with a certain teller guy he mess up my account. No one els seems to mess it up. One time he said I had no money to transfer funny thing I went in there an hr before n put money in and on my phone showed money. But he kept saying in had no money. I said so y does it show on my phone i do. He says there must be a problem on ur phone. Well he had the wrong account pulled up even when I gave him my card with my account. G So today I go to take money out to put on husbands credit card. I write a note saying put on this card with his name. This is thru drive thru. He says do u want it on ur Express I said no. on the card I sent in with my ID and account card. Well he didnt listen n put it all on my express. Then y would I send that card just for show I guess. So now If I have to deal with him I will drive off n go in or go to another bank. I cannot stand him everytime he messes it up.

I have been a member with this CU since they were called Utah State CU. As you see this has been a while. Im very happy with them. Im retired now , I have all my banking business with them. They (employees) have never treated me different. They are very respectful, helpful, etc. Jared Haslem in the Financial assets department is very caring & kind. If you ever want to talk to him do so. He is very kind & returns your messages ASAP. People who have had a bad experience in dealing with this CU maybe you were having a bad day.

This could have been a one star, THANK YOU Solvanna Kanistanaux for pulling us out of the weeds. We applied on line to refi on car we just bought and 3 WEEKS LATER and 3 (LOST) online signed docs later we sat at the branch in Murray on a FRIDAY afternoon with EVERYONE and their dogs waiting to sign docs in person because the online person could not pull it off with the equipment she had . SO GRATEFUL that Solvanna knew what she was doing and got us signed and out the door. The worst part about signing in person is waiting in line not being able to make an appointment. THANK YOU SOVANNA!

I borrowed some money for an embarassing situation. Now everytime I go I feel like they dont want me to pay my loan back. A few days ago, I sat at the drive thru for 20 minutes, finally got to the teller and she said that the check I was trying to deposit was to be held for 7 days. I was confused and so the manager tried to explain that my account was on a fraud watch. I was shocked, this was the first check I had deposited. She said she would look into this and call me about it. That was a few days ago and I never heard from her. Im tired of being treated like I did something wrong. I will go out of my way to go to another location because I dont deserve this.

My husband and I switched to this bank from Chase and we couldnt be more happy with that descision! I applied for a home loan with Samantha Everett and she is amazing! She is very personable, not to mention hilarious! She told me exactly what I needed to do in order to get pre-approved for the loan amount that I was hoping for and walked me through every step of the loan process. She took an hour and a half during that first meeting to explain how the loan would work and how long the process would take. She whipped out a pre-approval letter within minutes of me putting down an offer on a house. She is not pushy at all and makes sure that you are buying a home that is within your means. When things got kind of rocky with the loan in underwriting, she notified me immediately of any problem they encountered and told me exactly what I needed to do to make sure I got the house that I wanted. If you are thinking about applying for a home loan, talk to Samantha!

We have been members for about 22 years and absolutely love Mountain America. When we lived in Ogden we had an amazing loan gal and she was always there to help with whatever we needed. We moved out of state and she helped us set up our banking so we could stay with Mountain America because there was no Mountain America where we went for 2 years. I dont visit the branches too often because I do pretty much everything online but when I do everyone is always very cordial and helps with any of my needs. We have had loans with Mt. Am and had great interest rates!! Wouldnt bank anywhere else!!
