Pierre Alley was a fantastic resource to have, especially during the early months of 2022 when the interest rates kept rising like crazy and he knew it would be best to lock in our rate. Without him, we'd still be stuck with an inexperienced lender who wouldn't give us decisive information. We were able to close on our new townhouse a month ago with Pierre and are so grateful for his help through the whole process. We worked with Pierre for our loan and he was amazing! We were first time home buyers and didn't know that much but he took time to explain everything to us throughly and to answer any of our questions. He also was straight to the point and seemed to really care about what would be best for us personally. We also never had an issue with getting a hold of him. We highly recommend Pierre! He is extremely knowledgeable and honest. He also really cares about his clients and making sure they get the right loan. We used him when we bought our first townhome and it was such a breeze. He was great at following up and communicating with us. He answered all our questions and really helped us to understand the home loan process on our first home buying experience. Fast forward to today we’re buying a new house but mistakenly chose the builders preferred lender because of the incentives. We ended up having problems with that lender so my wife called up Pierre for help. And that’s what he did! He helped us so much!. He was honest about what he could get us and had recommendations on what would be the best option for US. He went out of his way and above and beyond to help us figure out what was going on even though the loan was through different lender. Pierre genuinely wants the best for everyone who walks through his door. We are extremely grateful to have had him as our lender and we definitely plan to only use him in the future. Pierre handled our mortgage loan when we were buying our first house. He is very knowledgeable and experienced and took the time to educate us on mortgage vocab and terms. We were especially pleased with how responsive he was to emails throughout the mortgage process. We priced out other mortgage options with different credit unions, but Pierre offered a better interest rate and lower fees in general. We would definitely consider going through Utah Mortgage Loan Corp again if we move again.

Pierre was great to work with. While he was the preferred lender for the builder we were going with, he still worked with us as we shopped around for other lenders and ultimately we settled with him. Staff was kind, however an awful experience. It wasnt even like they wanted me to get the loan. It was a constant barrage of show me proof you qualify over and over and over yet nothing ever changed. Ultimately we finally closed depsite their efforts to somehow disqualify us. We never even met our loan officer Mrs. Sanders. NOT A FIDUCIARY for the customer.

I had a frustrating experience here. Our application was a bit more complicated than average, but our loan officer assured us with their 35 years of experience in the industry that wed be taken care of. We were pre-approved for a loan, and started to look at houses. After we went under contract to buy a home (for 100k less than our pre-approved purchase price) they said they couldnt give us a loan unless we increased our down payment from 20% to well over 50%. When I asked why are we just finding out about this now? they said they use a different set of standards for pre-approval vs actual approval, which seems like a strange policy to me. I understand that pre-approval is conditional and things can change, but I didnt expect it to be that extreme. In any case, a few hours later they backtracked and said they found more income on our tax returns that somehow theyd missed the first time around, so we could get the loan after all. Then they said we could only get the loan if we provided additional documentation of that income, but they were unable to tell us what specific documents they needed (and they already had every available document anyway). Later they did list a few specific things they wanted from us, including the business tax returns of one of our former employers, and the business tax returns of the investment firm managing our retirement savings, and obviously that wasnt going to happen. A significant number of other things they wanted remained vague, just documentation. The only positive part of the experience was that our loan officer was alway polite and friendly, and easy to get in touch with. Im not sharing their name because Im honestly not sure how much of this was their fault. Maybe the in-house underwriters were partly to blame? Or something else? Weve decided to try a different lender, and it looks like well be getting a significantly better interest rate with them anyway. If your application is totally straighforward these folks might do fine for you but if your case is even a little complex I suggest looking elsewhere.

Ben Shoff was my loan officer who handled my entire loan process from application to closing in a very professional manner. I completed my own 25 year career in the mortgage industry a few years ago as Vice President of Mortgage Operations for an east coast bank and so my expectations were high. And i was never disappointed! Ben was always available to answer questions, receive documentation, and even brought me a couple of treats. The choice of the closing agent and the closing itself was excellent and Ben was present every step of the way! Congratulations to Utah Mortgage for employing such a true professional to represent their company!

So where to begin, we honestly did not start out with Utah Mortgage Loan. We started out with someone else. We ran into so many problems with this other mortgage company. There was no communication and no expectations as far as when and what documents were supposed to be submitted. We were finally recommended to Utah Mortgage Loan, and Pierre and Karalee really took care of us. I can tell you that the only thing that went 100% right in our home process was the mortgage after we switched to Utah Mortgage Loan. Pierre and Karalee took our incomplete loan application which to my wife and I looked like a mess and was able to complete it in time for us to close with the builder. Pierre and Karalee really made us, especially my wife comfortable, which is something we will remember always.

My husband and I had such a good experience with Pierre. He took the time to help us understand everything there is to know about a mortgage. We are in our early 20s, and even though this is our second mortgage, we were still apprehensive, because we didnt want to be taken advantage of. Pierre made sure we were comfortable with everything and never brushed over things that he could tell we didnt understand. With our last mortgage company the final weeks leading up to closing were stressful and chaotic. They had misplaced a lot of our paperwork and we ended up sending most of our documents over twice if not three times. This was not the case with Pierre. It was an incredible experience working with this company. This was our second time buying a home, but it had been so long since our last purchase that everything seemed just as foreign as a first time purchase. We worked with Pierre for our loan and he was amazing! We were first time home buyers and didnt know that much but he took time to explain everything to us throughly and to answer any of our questions. He also was straight to the point and seemed to really care about what would be best for us personally. We also never had an issue with getting a hold of him. I represented a first time home buyer on a recent purchase of a new townhouse. The buyer had a friend who was a loan officer and the builder required that my buyer meet with their preferred lender. I told my buyer to meet with the preferred lender and to get a quote from Russ at Utah Mortgage. Russ had a pre-approval for my buyer in about 3 hours, the terms of Russs loan significantly beat out both the builders preferred lender and the buyers friend! That was even after the $4,000 incentive to use the preferred lender! Russ closed the loan a full week before the anticipated close date (less than 2 weeks from start to finish). Awesome Job Russ and team! Looking forward to working with you on the next one. Needless to say, my buyer was so happy. There were challenges to obtaining my loan due to personal circumstances, however due to the diligence, industry knowledge of the staff at Utah Mortgage, and attention to detail I was able to obtain my mortgage loan. Never did I imagine the loan process to be simple, but Ryan broke it down for me step by step and explained everything that was going on along the way. It is so refreshing to talk to someone who knows so much about the loan process. Clark and his team have helped us with with multiple mortgages. They are knowledgeable, direct and honest. A mortgage (for most of us) is the largest financial decision well ever make. We got a Utah home Loan through Jonathan Dyet, a loan officer at Utah Mortgage Loan Corporation and had a great experience. He answered all of our questions throughly and was able to get our loan prepared quickly. Im sure it doesnt always go this fast but he had the loan ready to fund in 2 weeks from the day we went under contract. High recommended!
