I have been a member here for over 10 years, I have had my credit card with them since 2017 and have kept it in good standings. Yet I have never received an increase from them, I ve had problems with tellers getting the correct amount of cash to be deposited because they simply fail to take their time and count or giving me wrong info and I go to a different location which they venom for me that I was told incorrectly. I will be looking for a different bank.

I have been a member of MACU for 40 yrs and never have I had as many problems as I have had this past year. My business is GREATLY impacted by the new way of holding almost all funds deposited into my account that is disrupting my ability to adequately run my business and when I call in to talk to someone about why all funds are constantly held and to get those funds released I m given an answer that the manager simply says he doesn t want to !! What do you mean you don t want to? No reason that makes any sense just nope won t do it don t want to! Basically you re telling me you have control over MY money and my only options are deal with it and wait 3+ business days to have access to my money or I take my business somewhere else! At this point it s looking like banking somewhere else is the best option. I wouldn t recommend anyone use MACU anymore where in the past I use to tell all my friends and family to open accounts there because it was such a good bank to work with! Not anymore! It s a complete joke! If you want access to your money then I recommend you take your banking needs somewhere else!

Their financial department is deceptive and dishonest. Customer service is nice until you ask to speak to another department i which you get over there and they hang up on you, has happened three times. Honestly if you want a good CU that cares and will actually solve problems, avoid this institution. I have never had such a hard time just trying to resolve and issue. Working with macu has been a nightmare that I didn t expect or want.

The Layton branch is fine, but the ATM is useless. Literally every time I go to that ATM, it says cash is unavailable either for deposit or withdrawal. Whats the point of having an ATM if its never going to work? This is the only branch where I have that issue.

I bring 4 cars to this location and have to say my experience at the West Haven location was much better. Besides never wiping the car down completely, when I asked today why the wheels were still wet I was told There s only so much we can do when it s cold . You can still charge full price then leave me a car half dry. I bought the $5 towel on every car I have because every time I leave I have to complete their job for them. Not impressed.

My son banks here . Theres no direction. They served a family before us while we waited for so long to open an account. Finally we are informed that we need to sign in first at the tellers. I wish there were at least a sign inside . Then after 1 hour they tell us they have no experience to verify new immigrants to open an account for them, even thou his brother opened an account 2 years earlier. So he was denied an account for his first job. We went to Wells Fargo instead. No problems there.

Dont ever expect to talk to a real human on the phone. When working with a rep in the branch you would be smart to keep documentation on everything you do because they are generally unqualified to work with your money and are likely to make a costly error. Good luck.

I took my 80 year old mother in to the branch of Mountain America Credit Union on Antelope Dr in Layton, Utah to open a new account. I did inform the lady opening the account that my mother was little hard of hearing. Well as she started to open the account she would look at me and asked me the questions.this upset my mother cause it was her account. She asked the lady if she could address her as it was her account. The lady got very upset and started to chew my mother out. She just kept getting more and more angry. So she piled up our stuff and said she would get another employee to take her when all that was required was an apology and talking to my mom and looking at my momwhen she asked questions. I know older people can be difficult but they just want to be treated fairly and like they are still adults. So now mom has an account with America First Credit Union

This credit union disappoints me more and more all the time. First, I really dislike the customer service at the Layton branch and second, if I go to the ATM outside it only works about two thirds of the time I need to use it. Lastly, way to make extra money Mountain America!.....it is absolutely my fault when my account overdrafts (I do admit that) but unlike other credit unions and banks that I have had, you guys dont even give a same day grace period to get an account in the positive, to not charge that overdraft fee...you just take it. Again my fault but your customer support is definitely undesirable in more ways than one. You should get one star, not two really, but you do have great agents at other branches. Edit to add, next time pull from one of the savings accounts I have. Oh wait, you dont make extra money if you do that. I guess it is convenient that a withdrawal hits my account in the same day before a deposit does (or I guess I should have transferred the money myself)....because yes, my savings has money and my checking account will have enough money. And by the way, YOU dont pay for my overdraft, at the end of the day I still do. Good thing I belong to another credit union, as well though. *In response to yours....typical generic answer.

I can say without a doubt that the Layton branch has always stepped in and resolved the issue in a timely manner. Its why I keep coming back do business... I didnt know the selection I needed to make so the IVR hung up on me. Not a great way to handle your customers. I called the layton branch back and another lady helped me. Went in to deposit checks from my grandmother. Figured there would be ahold so called in advance to the call center and ask about for how long in the amount. they informed us since it was a new account that would come off on the 14th of this month if they would hold half of the amount it should have been $500 and the other 500 would be available today. when I got to the branch the tailor informed me they would hold all of it even though I told her that I had called in and said she didnt know who I talked to you but that wasnt how it worked and was unable to work with us on getting some of it released. Poor member service from teller 2989, she should atleast looked into it a little more than informing me I was wrong, even though I called before hand.

Last week, my husband and I went to the Mountain America in Layton and we were very disappointed. We went to open an account for me, but we couldnt because they wouldnt accept my documents, which was a valid Green Card. The lady who was assisting us told us about this rule, that the Green Card was supposed to have my signature, and we explained to her that the document was valid and should be accepted everywhere. That lady was nice, although she looked a little lost, but then she called the manager, and that woman was just awful. Unfortunately I dont remember her name, she was a tall blonde woman. She just came to us and the first thing she said was that that was nothing they could do. She was so uninterested in helping us, and was treating us like we were dumb and stupid. She said that they had to follow the rules, and according to the bank rules, a Green Card was supposed to have a signature. We explained to her that it doesnt make sense that the bank gets to decide how a Green Card has to look like. A Green Card is a government document, and if the US government says its a valid document, it is. We asked her to contact her superiors, and request a change of that rule, and she said she could tell them our opinion if we wanted. I mean, opinion?? This is not about opinion. Any bank in US should accept a valid Green Card, this is a fact, not an opinion. Well, a few days later we went to the Mountain America in Salt Lake City. I had my passport inside my purse (which has my signature) just to be prepared, but I didnt even needed it. They accepted my Green Card and opened a bank account for me with no problems at all. So it seems that that rule wasnt even a big deal, how that woman said. My husband and I will keep our contract with Mountain America because we like the bank in general and we were very well treated in Salt Lake City, but Ill never return to the one in Layton. That experience reminded me how we immigrants are still not welcome here in United States, no matter how hard we try to be accepted. I felt humiliated. Thats it.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I went to make a business deposit last week and some of my checks have my business name on them. However this particular branch states that it is not associated with the account. I explained that I have never had a problem at any other branch with this name nor have I had a problem mobile depositing them. Flash forward this week I went back to the branch and the teller explained to me that they were not allowed to deposit any checks with that particular business name. I asked, Just curious is it just your branch or does it say that at all MACU s? He says no it s at all branches. Out of the corner of my eye is the teller from the previous week and she says, Sir I explained this to you last week. Would you like to talk to the manager,Kent, about it?! I said no it s ok. She leaves and walks straight to the branch managers office. (I hate confrontation but doesn t no mean no-especially in this era?) Kent, the Branch Manager, walks over and asks if there is a problem or if I need any questions answered? I should have just kept my trap shut but I asked him the same question I asked the teller. He proceeds to tell me that that they can not accept any checks with this business name on it. And that it is impossible that any other branch accepts it and that if I mobile deposited he checks they would have been shut down my access to mobile deposit. (Though I have mobile deposited with checks with the business name and deposited at other branches in the past). Exasperated I respond Kent you are right I must be wrong but I have been a member for a long time and have been doing exactly what you said I could not do at any other branch but yours. (I guess the customer is always right except at this branch) He tries to argue with me more about it-note I m not trying to win an argument I am stating a fact-every other branch but yours excepts this deposit including the mobile deposit. I tell him (and I admit quite rudely) I don t need your help and just go back to your office. As I leave I ask the teller who went to Kent, Hey thanks for tattling on me! She says she was not tattling and Kent comes out of his office saying that it was MACU s policy to talk to me about this. If that is the case I really would hope they change their policy. I m a calm person imagine If I were a lunatic or had a short fuse. If someone says no, please respect their wishes. On another note I have noticed all the poor reviews are customer service related, Kent that starts with you my man.i

Make sure to ALWAYS get a receipt when you make a deposit at their ATMs. I made a deposit of 60 dollars at their drive up ATM to pay my storage unit bill on my way to a wedding reception. Then I get a notice that my account was negative. When I called to see what had happened they said that there was no evidence that I had made the deposit. So I asked them to watch their ATM footage and they claimed that they did not see me at The ATM. I WAS there and I DID make the deposit! They just did not want to admit that they had lost my money! While I was waiting to hear back from them I went to use their change counting machine and forgot to grab my Victoria PINK backpack sitting on the chair next to the machine when I left. This was on a Friday, I called Monday to ask if they had heard back from the lady who was watching the camera and also asked if my backpack was still their. The teller asked the branch manager if they had it put away somewhere and she said that they were not a lost and found, that it had been thrown away! Lol she did NOT throw away a 70$ backpack she took it home and didnt want to admit that she stole it! So now not only did they loose my 60 dollars and steal my 70 dollar back. I have to pay them what I went negative. In the end they will have got me for the 60 dollars they lost, the 70 dollar backpack they stole and the 75 dollars I went negative after them loosing my money. $205. dollars in total! I will say that the teller that was helping me figure out what had happened, Did everything in her power to help me. Which is the only reason they even got 1 star...well that and you cant give 0 stars on here.

Never had any issues depositing my checks into my account until today. I often get checks from my hair and lash clients and went to deposit everything today. The lady at the drive thru said they couldn t deposit my checks (something they ve always done for the last 8 months) and sent my stuff back and turned the screen and mic off without any further explanation. I had more than enough to cover it if anything should happen. For an institution that boasts customer service, you re lacking clearly in this branch. At least be consistent!!! And don t hang up on your customers!

Never have I had a bad experience at this location till couple days ago when I needed some help with a signature load and I seriously have never met someone with poor communication skills, Gabriel was the name of the guy that assisted me, he wasted a whole hour of my time and was just not answering my questions & I seriously had to walk out cause he just kept leaving and had me waiting, I went to another mountain America and right away everything was taken care of

I have had issues with some major banks in the past. I was worried but recommended to Mountain America and I am glad I opened my accounts with them! They are quick, efficient, and extremely polite! I have had an iffy experience with Banks and credit unions in the past but Mountain America has totally changed my mind. I was able to open an account, no questions asked. The process was totally painless. The employees are friendly and always have a smile on their face. If you go there first thing in the morning they unlock the doors and all the employees stand outside with the doors open to greet you. My only complaint is that the ATM outside frequently acts up. In this day and age it shouldnt be that hard to get the machine working properly.

I have been at the Layton Branch for years. Since they changed management about a year ago Customer Service has been non existent. They now never answer there phones. I actually go out of my way now to avoid that branch. Really Sad as their customer service is why I ended up depositing my money with them now I am seeking a relationship with another institution. That Branch has lost its compass.

This credit union is probably the worse ones out there! I have never received such poor customer service until I came to this credit union. When they want your business, they are so eager. Once they get it, no way do you get any help on things you need answer. I will not put any certain names out there. But this is the worse Insitute! Ive only had my account for 3 weeks and I am closing it and going else where due to poor customer service.

My wife and I have been banking here for years (both personal and business), we have always received incredible service from this branch. We especially appreciate how attentive and helpful Hollie has always been. I noticed a comment on Google reviews from another person stating he had a negative experience with Hollie; without knowing the gentleman I can only assume that he was denied the loan because he has chosen to disregard the importance of being a grown up human being and handling his business so he could be approved. Also its apparent he doesnt know how to use spell check. Love this MACU branch!!!!

Hollie at this branch did not help me at all to get a loan for a car. They are supposed to be able to assist customers for more business not deny customers for loans. She was not experienced and has no right to be a personal banker. Probally not even graduated in Finance.
