I couldn t recommend Academy more!! They have been so great throughout the entire process. We specifically worked with Ashleigh and she was so so great, we could not have went through the process without her kind spirit, her way of explaining things where it was easy to understand, and her answering phone calls and texts at the drop of a hat. You could tell she knew her stuff and she was always so on top of communicating with the title company and realtor. Highly recommend!!

I would give them no starts if I could!! We had the worse experience buying a house with them. We had worked with Mike Pena and his team There was no communication between his team specially at the end of the 30 days before closing. We lost $2k earnest money, inspection money, Etc. Very unprofessional and didn t want to take accountability for them taking long and wasting our time and money! MIKE WAS VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!

I reached out to Academy Mortgage and got in contact with Mary Navarro. I was under contract already and working with a different LO but I wanted a second option incase I wasn t able to secure financing through them. After being on a call for over 45 minutes, she basically told me that the only way I would get approved for my loan was to sell back BOTH of my vehicles and pay off ALL my CC debt (4k). She said that s they only way, there is no way around it, you might as well consider that loan dead I paid off some CC debt but just decided to stick with my original LO. (My original LO never asked me to get rid of my vehicles or to pay off ALL of my debt) And like most people, I couldn t just afford to get rid of both vehicles and left without any kind of transportation. Let me tell you, THANK GOD I didn t listen to Mary, me and my partner would have been left without a vehicle. As first time home buyers we need to be careful and not always believe that all people are looking out for our best interest. PEOPLE- I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH, PLEASE GET ATLEAST 2-3 DIFFERENT OPINIONS. AND STAY AWAY FROM MARY!! I don t understand why Academy mortgage has very high reviews. Please look through them carefully and you ll see some ppl with the same experience. DONT CALL MARY!!

Jon was awesome! I wasn t sure what to expect because of the rising rates but he worked tirelessly to earn my trust and work on getting me the best rate. Even when I didn t trust the process he was working for me. He found a program that worked for my particular situation that secured a rate that is unheard of in these uncertain times. What set him apart from the other lender I was considering is when he put in the extra work on the weekend so I could negotiate for a gem that I came across. The conversation with the loan officer started good in the first conversation. But then nothing. No calls back nothing, then I received a denial letter. If all you wanted to do is make a hard inquiry to cause damage to my credit I could have done without. Terrible communication.

Explained everything so even I could understand it and explored a number of ways to finance the loan. A lot of paperwork is always required, but knowing what to get and making sure the information passes through all the hands that have to evaluate it in a timely way is very important.
