I visited the store for the first time, excited to browse through some jewelry pieces and see what they had to offer. Unfortunately, my experience turned sour quite quickly. An older male associate began to follow me closely around the store, which made me extremely uncomfortable. I tried to address the situation directly and politely asked him why he was following me, expressing that it was making me feel uneasy. Instead of understanding my discomfort, he simply replied, “You’re fine,” dismissing my concern.

Feeling frustrated and anxious, I wanted to request to speak with his manager but didn't feel safe doing so in that moment. To add to my discomfort, when I expressed interest in trying on a ring, I was told that I needed to provide a copy of my ID. Given my past experience with identity theft, I strongly believe in protecting my personal information and refused to hand over my ID just to try on a piece of jewelry.

Overall, this visit left me feeling more like a suspect than a valued customer. I’ve never felt so uneasy while simply browsing in a shop. I’ve decided it would be best for me to look for another jewelry store where I can explore their pieces without feeling as though I’m committing a crime by wanting to try them on.

My fiancé originally went to another jeweler and was told he needed to do more research and come back. He decided to go to Houston Jewelry based on recommendations and was very impressed. Steven was amazing when helping to customize a ring for me and ensuring my fiancé our diamond was being used and verified over and over. Mary Gross and Charley Morris are amazing! My story-

The stone on my wife's family heirloom opal ring broke. This ring had a lot of sentimental meaning to her and I brought it in to Houston Jewelry on Thurs Dec 21st. Mary & Charlie worked an absolute miracle by finding a perfect opal match and fixing the ring WITHIN 24 HOURS. This allowed me to surprise my wife on Christmas day with the fixed ring.

Not only did they find the perfect matching opal, they also cleaned the ring (and matching earrings) and the entire set looks brand new. I didn't even ask them to do that, they really went above and beyond!

To top it all off, Charley packaged it all up beautifully by wrapping it in a gift wrap + a bow + the whole 9.

What a fantastic crew they have at Houston Jewelry. These two really made XMAS special!

I when to this place base on all reviews people posted here, I try to sell two rings and bullion gold bar and a coin, the lady who s helping me don t seems to have the knowledge on how to inspect diamonds and precious metals.. first she use the scanner then an acid test living horrible marks on the side of the rings (I understand they have to scratch the ring on a hidden area) and if she use the scanner why scratch the rings? that make no sense any ways she scratching the coin as well this tells me that she doesn t know, there are other ways to check coins with out damaging, (scratching coin on the stone) Mexico 10 pesos gold coins are well know coins any skilled jeweler will identified this right away well not the case here! Finally their offer was waaay to low I understand that this businesses had to make money and they use for reference the gold spot price.. base on that most businesses take off 10 to 20% for profit well this place try to take about 32% off the gold spot price .. to me this is very abusive! Mexico 10 pesos 7.5gr pure gold content, the spot price in New York at the time 1967/oz the gold spot price for the coin will be $474.35 from that amount take your 10 to 20% profit that s all! Their offer $325.00 for the coin they try to give me. Also she told me that one of the rings was 14k when in reality both rings are 18k since I was already shopping around this was my 4th place all other 3 places check my items and no issues at all so I finally had to go back to HPM (Houston Precious Metals) midtown area for the better quote Please shop around first and places like this STAY AWAY! Since I wasnt able to reply to the owner I just to add few more thinks .. the only item your guys don t want to buy was a the silver bar (the reason according this person because was a mix with something else ) but you want to buy the gold bar the purity was questionable was between 22k and 23k but let s assume it s 22k 98.2gr pure gold content 89.95gr 2.89oz X 1967 spot gold price =$5689.19 .. 18k gold band 21.5gr with 17 dia @ 1.5pt each 18k white gold ring 19.6gr with 66 yellow diamond and 62 white dia. @ 2.56ct and the gold coin 8.33gr .900 @ 7.5 pure gold content .. your guys offer me for all $5285.00 If the bar was ilegal according to you why wanted to buy? The city of Houston Sec-7-90 articles to be retained placed on hold, exceptions.. don t said anything about what you mention.. only that you have to send the police my information and items I presented to you and photos . And lastly the coin has a numismatic value ..date 1920 .. not 1959 and HPM pay little more for that .. If you consider my items I presented to you as an illegal act, why you just don t said it up front I pass like you did with the silver bar, instead you offer me $5,285.00 for all, however, what would be happen if I decide to sell it to you and take the money you offer me ? Base on your statement is not ilegal? What business reputation you talking about ? What business fair and ethical reputation you talking about? Unless you have other concept of this acts I m sorry but to me you actions are just to take advantage of the situation most of us decide to get rid of out items mainly for economic reasons. Every time I visited Houston Jewelry during my recent visits I was made to feel so welcomed. Staff is super friendly and kind. But I must give a shout out for Stephen. His knowledge of his art is impressive. His professional demeanor and his patience with my many questions eased any concerns I may have had with selecting Houston Jewelry to handle my jewelry needs. It should be noted I was making a small purchased for my daughter s birthday and custom work on 2 rings I ve had for 36 years. Stephen made feel as if I was spending thousands, upon thousands of dollars. Thank you Stephen for all your efforts!! I will always come to you at Houston Jewelry!!

Do not sell your silver to these people. After a very tiresome process with no transparency, they made me an offer. I knew it was low. Went down the street to a reputable dealer and got 2.5 times their offer.

I brought my watch to have the battery replaced in my watch. I was told it had two batteries and needed cleaning service inside. Comes to find out which none of this was true and charged me to much money for just one battery. I would never step in this store again. For a store to take advantage for something so little tells you something about this greedy store. I wouldnt recommend this place at all.

A Houston classic. My parents went here when they got engaged, and so did I. They have at least 4 giant binders to choose a design from, or to get inspired to create your own design. The ring came out identical to the render provided by the designer. Turn around was very quick, although I would be upfront about timelines for design iterations. Price supports quality.

Ok so I bought something and needed it to get repaired. The individual who assessed it just did not treat my things well. Tried smashing it back into the box forcefully and overall treating it like it was second rate. Her conclusion after her assessment was that I bought a used ring and while that might be the case that does not then mean to treat things harshly especially after you have identified that its damaged or in need of repair. Needless to say I am not going back. Edit: no one hacked my account. If you would like I can call or show up in person to criticize if that suits you better.

I went to Houston Jewelry to get my engagement ring resized and to purchase my wedding band. Ms. Lily and all of the staff were so helpful and kind. They made sure that I got the right size and found a wedding band that I love and matches my fiances ring well. Thank you so much Houston Jewelry! You certainly deserve 5 stars. Ms. Lily is amazing! She will definitely help you find what you are looking for and treat you like family while she does it. 2023 update** I really enjoyed returning to Houston Jewlery. Steven helped me immensely. He welcomed me and helped me to find an affordable way to fix my wedding band (which unfortunately I had to have cut off during my pregnancy) and to have my engagement ring resized and polished. When I mentioned that I had a budget, he happily agreed to work with me. So happy I came back!

Houston Jewelers is amazing! They are the most honest people around! Made cleaning out my moms house hassle free! Even called me back to say they made a mistake on something I sold them and to come get another check. Super honest! They actually explain things to you. I have learned a ton of things from Rex. We took in a bunch of silver to sell & they called us later that day to say they had undervalued our things & that we had a check for an additional $800 waiting for us. They didn t have to do that but I think it speaks to their integrity.

With all of the jewelry store options Houston has the Houston Jewelry show room and staff are the best in Houston. The staff is amazingly friendly easy to have a conversation with and honest on their prices. They will stand behind each and every piece that they sell. I live on 45 south quite a ways from this location but I will never shop anywhere else except the Houston Jewelry store.I sold my Rolex they gave me an amazing deal. My wife and I were looking for a new wedding ring set to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. My wife will never make a purchase without checking the competition to ensure she is getting the best quality and price. We hit all the major jewelry stores. We even went to some smaller Mom and Pop shops to find the best deal. No matter how many places we visited we always ended up back at Houston Jewelry. Not only did they offer exquisite pieces at a very competitive price, the staff is very courteous and friendly. The manager Steven Reiner was extremely patient and helpful. I sold a piece of jewelry today to Houston Jewelry. This is the second time Ive sold an item to them. Both times, theyve made good offers and have been professional and courteous. Steven is the gentleman there Ive talked to both times, and hes excellent. I would recommend this place if you have jewelry to sell.

There is something terribly wrong about taking advantage of customers that are not experts in the jewelry/diamond industry. Houston Jewelry on Westheimer did exactly that. I had my wifes diamond wedding band made at Houston Jewelry by their expert craftsman. We had a picture and asked that it be replicated. It kinda was and didnt really match her engagement ring. 5 years later, I found a real professional jeweler craftsman and asked that the same design be duplicated. The results were night and day. Furthermore, we were shocked and taken back regarding the quality of diamonds that were used by Houston Jewelry in her 1st wedding band. We were shown through magnification that the diamonds actually had carbon visible on them which indicated poor quality and preparation. When you pay a premium for a customized high end creation as we were told, you expect the quality to be at least good, not flea market material. Stay far away from this place, its no better than a low end pawn shop that will take advantage of you.

Been a customer off and on since the 70 s. I have bought jewelry, had jewelry repairs, and sold gold and sterling silver, as well as silver plate. Always a great staff-very friendly, honest, and great prices.

Happened upon this establishment after a very negative encounter with a store down the street. Walked in to Houston Jewelry, was greeted by Sherri who was so kind and helpful. I was very blessed to come across Houston Jewelry from one of my regulars. I was getting ready to propose and I was looking to design the ring myself. I was having difficulty as Houston is a very big city and I wasn t sold on any of the places I looked because of price and customer service. Finally, I was told to go and see Steven Reiner. He is and was more then qualified to help me, gave me the best deal in town and did an amazing job on the ring. It s beautiful and my fiancé loves it. They do everything in house which was something I really wanted yet it s not too common from what I found. We will be getting our wedding bands here and I am also referring my brother here when he s ready to pop the question. I can t stress enough how high the workmanship all around quality and amazing service is that Houston Jewelry provided for me. Steven is even a gemologist as well which is just the icing on the cake. I sincerely will never go anywhere else as they more then went out of their way and especially Steven, to make this happen for me. Even though I am not in the same field , I do dabble in gold and silver and precious jewels and as a professional myself, I can tell when someone is at the top of their game and Steven is just that.

Management is wonderful here. After initially having a negative experience, Rex went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. My initial negative experience was not a reflection of Houston Jewelers. This store genuinely cares about its customers and will do everything to make sure they are treated well. We got an offer for a ring that was fair and I enjoyed doing business with them. I recommend you go check them out.

I arrived at Houston Jewelry after extensive research into businesses that buy estate jewelry. I had been to one business already. I brought in a considerable amount of jewelry from my mother s estate to sell. Steven Reiner immediately greeted me as I walked in and once I told him what I needed - he cleared off counters and we began going over everything in great detail- for several hours. Before it was over- three or four others joined the project, including, Gigi and Rex Solomon, the owner. I received great information and most importantly a great offer for my items. I had planned to visit 3 other businesses and due to the thorough effort of Houston Jewelry and the pricing offered along with the great people I dealt with I have stopped my search. ( The other business had provided pricing and was fine - but neither their pricing nor their people held a candle to what Houston Jewelry offered. ) I so appreciated Steven and his tireless effort on my behalf and loved working with everyone! I strongly recommend this great business for tackling the puzzle of how to deal with and value estate jewelry- or frankly -any other jewelry you may want to sell!

Went to Houston Jewelry on Westheimer today to sell 23 pieces of sterling silver flatware, Gorham Strasbourg, excellent condition. Seems no one wants to buy silver flatware anymore so the value is just in the silver content, buyers just sell to wholesalers who melt it down for silver content. And that s okay. Houston Jewelry weighed it and offered just over $300, wouldn t tell me the price per oz, said they just base offer based on grams ! I checked the spot silver price and estimated value to be around $700 ! So I went to another buyer nearby and they were much more professional and really valued their customers, they offered just over $600. What a difference ! Don t sell silver to Houston Jewelers, get a fair deal and much better offer elsewhere !

I bought a Gold/diamond Pendent on Q1,2020. Today(July,2020), we just opened the box again to check on it and found the gold part looks blackish. After a quick internet search we found out that silver oxidizes to black, and it seems our is Silver pendant with gold coating. This is really not what I expected as it was first prominent anniversary gift I bought for my wife after many years of marriage. The sales person was amazing and I acknowledge that, but it seems he is unaware of what is he is asked to sell. Pretty shameful for a developed country where such things happen in open. Please be mindful of what you are going to get from this shop if you happen to visit.

After I called this place I canceled all other appointments and went with the place I trusted. I came in with my fiancé to create a custom engagement ring. My husband and I purchased my engagement ring here. I took my ring to another jeweler to have resized in Dec. 2019. I was informed that 3 of the diamonds had been improperly glued back into the ring. The other diamonds were not glued. This ring Is defective and is difficult for my new jeweler to rectify. This ring was either returned by another customer because the diamonds came out or Houston Jewelry knew of the defect and did not repair properly to sell as new.

To that note, go by and see there exhibitions to trains, furs, crystal and especially the English royalty museum. It is awesome. Went by initially to pick out wedding bands for me and my fiancé. I really enjoy going to Houston Jewelry. Ever since my fiancé bought my engagement ring there we have been going there to make purchases. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I took my engagement and wedding bads here for sizing. Paid $160 and the turnaround was fine. My issue is the gentleman man that gave me my rings back told me they werent real diamonds. I didnt ask, he just told me. I knew that, but if someone didnt that could really cause issues in their marriage. Very unprofessional

I didn t liked this place at all. Most expensive in the town unnecessarily. 4 times more cost. Very frustrating Here are more details I did visited Houston Jewelley shop on Westheimer near party citi at 4.25 pm. I was asking to change the battery for my wife s watch. I first asked if they can check if it has battery or pulse operated watch. Then she took my watch inside and without asking me straight away changed the battery and billed for $45. To change the battery anywhere in Houston for such watch is $10. Which i did today only at some other place for another 2 watches. Why $45 for battery replace? And again without asking me. I am very disappointed. Hope you understand.

The level of customer service here is amazing. I brought my wifes necklace in for repair and there was a miscommunication with ordering all the pieces. When I found out, one of the owners (Rex) got involved and handled the situation very well. The entire staff here is ffriendly.Richard andGigi are great. They even expedited the repairs to make sure I got the necklace back by the original date. Absolutely recommend this store for all your jewelry needs.

A couple of years ago, my wife lost the diamond in her engagement ring. Subsequently, she has been wearing her late mother s rings.In celebration of our 52nd wedding anniversary we decided to replace the missing diamond. We were familiar with Houston Jewelry, as many years ago we had purchased replacements for her original engagement and wedding rings from them after she had lost the diamond on the engagement ring. At that time, we elected to have her original wedding ring and the new rings soldered together. When we entered the store, we were greeted by a very delightful person named Lily. Lily saw the original and replacement rings we had brought in and suggested that we consider, after selecting a replacement diamond, having all four joined together. She then spent a lot of time helping us select a suitable diamond. She was very patient and stayed past their normal closing time in assisting us. Walking in here I after leaving Kay jewelers down the street, thinking I couldnt afford something truely beauitful and unique as a engagment ring. Also Ill be honest I didnt have a clue on anything about rings before I came here. Lily showed me anything I need to know about rings before I signed anything Things like color, clarity, imperfections, and cut. Which then made me confident in what I was buying, rather than just taking whatever they get from me like Kay would. Yeah I spent more than I originally planned, but knowing the things I know thanks to Lily Im okay with that. Houston Jewelry has lots of inventory. However, the most valuable jewel in that store is Lily. From the moment I walked in she treated me like her own son. She is always available and never promised something she could not deliver. Lily is very easy/flexible to work with and provided me her personal cellphone number to reach her directly with questions and/or concerns. On one occasion she waited until I finished work and stayed long after the store s closing time; helping me design the perfect ring! She even came in on her day off to accommodate me and contacted me throughout her vacation out of state. Frankly she was one of the biggest reasons I took my business to Houston Jewelry. I was on the verge of pulling the trigger and purchasing a diamond ring from another source, and she was the sole reason I did not. I must add that all employees were super nice and friendly. And Rex was extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and accommodating. I shopped for the perfect engagement ring in many stores and online. However, the price and quality I was offered by Houston Jewelry could not be matched ANYWHERE!! In addition, they have bunch of Better Business Bureau awards and stand behind their products. I highly recommend visiting their store (even if you are not ready to purchase) and getting a quick education in jewelry and diamonds. I could not be happier with my purchase and because of my experience with Lily, Houston Jewelry gained a customer for life!!!
