Branches near Plano & Richardson have been closed. Now the Coit location is by appointment only. Not worth the hassle... (Update) I had to close an account Ive had for over 20 years to open a new account. While there the agent advised a debit card would be mailed to me. I asked him why it wasnt made on site per the usual and he advised they are now mailed. This was 9/27/2024... I called in today 10/31/2024 and was told there was never a request made for a debit card to be mailed. This is an extreme inconvenience and very unprofessional. Then, I have to set an appointment to go in the bank to fix an employee error...

Been a member for 20 years never had a problem until I tried to change the auto-payment on my truck. 10 calls, hours of waiting on hold and 2 docusigns later and they are still double charging me for my truck payment every month to 2 separate accounts. Cant tell if its poor management or just incompetence. Seriously considering refinancing with another bank as that is probably an easier process UPDATE 9/13: Another Week and another failure to get my issue resolved. Waited on hold for another 30 mins to be told they are working on it. Was refused when I asked for escalation to a manager. Refused when I asked for a call back from a manager. Update 9/27: Called to validate this is fixed. Now they canceled both auto payment for all accounts. I cant believe the level of incompetence here

I ve been experiencing significant challenges with Resource One Credit Union (R1CU) while trying to update my insurance information for nearly 10 days. After receiving an urgent message requesting an updated insurance policy, I attempted to submit the required documents through various channels, but encountered multiple issues. Every time I tried to text or email the update, I received a generic something went wrong message, without any further clarification. When I contacted customer service, I waited 20 minutes only to be told that they use a third-party provider for insurance and that R1CU doesn t even have visibility into the exact issue. After some investigation, it appeared the only problem might have been that R1CU wasn t listed as the lienholder on the insurance policy. I contacted my insurance provider, and they promptly made the update, sending a revised copy to R1CU. However, I am now back to waiting another two days for the urgent request to be processed. When I asked if I could deliver a copy in person, I was informed that the only acceptable method is through their designated email. Additionally, I ve encountered issues with my auto payments. Despite setting up automatic payments through my bank, I received a notice from R1CU stating I had missed a payment. My bank confirmed that the payments were sent and cleared, yet I had to make the payment over the phone. This issue repeated the following month, leading to another manual payment, even though my bank confirmed the checks had cleared. During one of these calls, I was informed that I had $1,600 in my savings account, something I was unaware of, as I had initially opened the account with a nominal amount. This entire experience has been highly frustrating, and I am seriously reconsidering doing business with R1CU in the future.

I am updating my original review. I went in person to the CUTX branch in Oak Cliff and expressed my concerns about not being to reach anyone by phone. My concerns were taken seriously and passed on to the CUTX leadership team. The next day, I received a phone call from corporate customer service informing me that the problems I experienced were taken seriously and being remedied. There was genuine interest in my customer experience and a commitment to system improvements. Thanks, CUTX!

Told as I showed up that this location is appointment only, after circling the area for 30 minutes because they were closed for lunch. Bad customer experience, I was looking for a quick transaction and found a location on Google closest to my work, shouldnt have to make an appointment as a member.

Do not waste your time with credit union of Texas and especially not the location on Lyndon B Freeway. They will not let you in the doors unless you schedule an appointment 24 hours in advance. I am in the area, today, to buy a car and need to withdraw cash since the credit union ATMS have a maximum limit. The credit union employees refused to let me in to withdraw cash because I did not book an appointment 24 hours ago. They are so incredibly rude and it s obvious that they are just trying to get out of helping customers. There were 3 employees standing around inside doing nothing. Another customer came while I was trying to get in- he said this is the branch he uses and he has never had to have an appointment before. No one deserves to be treated like this. One of the employees cracked the door open wide enough to give us a piece of paper with other locations but I am not from this area and driving around her is challenging to say the least. Congratulations to 3 employees at Credit Union of Texas on LBJ freeway, for successfully finding a way to get out of doing any work. Worthless.

Times are freaking tough right now and I can t even access my own damn money because I don t have enough deposit history?? Really??? I will have to update this review if things get better before I close the account and go elsewhere. This bank has not been helpful to me nor my kids since I opened the account. Everything is 60/90 days, no one in the office can do anything, there s no override to help you, there s nothing in their control. I find that very hard to believe considering the area and how it s a credit union. Researching all the banks that have made it hard for minorities especially blacks to get approved for anything and this bank wasn t on the list. I came here to see if there would be another Rachel the branch manager at first central back in my hometown but unfortunately there s not! That branch manager approved things no one could approve, she helped me get a car two of them with not so great credit, she gave me loans, worked with me and etc. I move here and it s like everyone is apologizing while showing no concern or interest. Moving here has been a nightmare. The whites act as if they never struggled or needed help everyone walks around with silver and gold platters. It s sickening to see so many look down on the ones who are actually trying! Why? Are they afraid that WE will out do them in this life? I m not sure why are there so many people in this area that are not helpful. Texas is a red state with a Christian values but not a one hold up to that belief. Jesus should be thought about in everything we do, but not here! This move has been a nightmare. I m regretting moving here. I moved here for a personal reason with my kids. I have 7 of them. I m the first to graduate high school and college and I m trying. Being in this area motivates me to keep pushing so that I can drive the nicer vehicles and have my own home. But the people I have to deal with makes it impossible. There s no help here! And the Heeral lady or however you spell it wasn t helpful at all even gave me false information! I m so tired of hearing the word SORRY! I can scream cause you are not sorry you are taught to say that when something happens that s not in the favor of the other person she nor the other lady could give a damn about what I m experiencing so save the sorry! I know what God can do and right now God isn t here at this location. I will be looking for another bank that can relate to me and my issue and help me out! A branch manager that wants to see my excel and be successful it will not be here! Save your time and energy, go somewhere else!

I am not satisfied with CUTX. It seems like back office and the fraud department at either the Allen or 635 location took away my Check Deposit, Zelle, Bill Pay and my External Transfer features off my online banking. When I called member services, they reached out back office to only tell me that they do a soft credit check and explain that I had a charged off at another financial institution and that I didn t have direct deposit going into the account. FYI, when I got this account opened, I already had direct deposit coming in. I m not sure why they didn t nor didn t double check my transactions. Then couple of months later, they restrict me to where I can t make deposits at the ATM without even telling me. How do yall expect me to even my loan payment when there isn t a branch in the city where I live? They claim they are a credit union but y all act like a traditional bank. All of this experience with this financial institution makes me want to pay off my loan with them and close my account with them. I m still debating on whether or not I want to keep it open or not.

Been with them well over a year and this location is terrible. Always super long waits. After waiting 30 minutes Today their card machine is broken and they cannot replace my debit card or update my address to mail a new one after I lost mine yesterday. Why do I pay $10 a month for terrible service and long waits? They also didn t tell me the Richardson branch was closing the last time I was in it and just a week later they were closed. That was the closest and most convenient branch for me. The branches are spaced too far out.

Sketchy CU. I opened the bank with the location in Richardson. Only opened the savings and checking because the lady there said: Richardson ISD Teachers don t have to pay the monthly fee. There was also a deposit reward agreement of $250 as long as I deposit that amount. Come to find out that location was closed, they ve been charging me the fee since I ve opened the account, they never rewarded the $250 for the deposit. Mind you, I made the deposit as I opened the account. I tried calling about it but they said there s no one they could talk to about it, the lady would not even give me a higher up to speak with.. After I figure what route I will take to receive that money that should not have been taken, I m closing the account.

Minus the low interest rate, there s nothing really special about CUTX. I had a very poor experience specifically with Kamron Mathis at this branch. If you want something or service done urgently, just reach out to the manager direct or a different branch altogether. It s horrible to be told time after time that you d get a call back , or be taken care of , but the representative assigned to you just doesn t care enough to even reply emails, multiple calls or voicemail. It took me 4 MONTHS to have SCRA approved, in December 2023 I had to walk into this branch 2 times for the same issue and still didn t get proper help until February 2024 when I informed them that I was going to file a consumer report.Very frustrating as a customer that this is the length I have to go to.

If youre in the area or youre desperate to get the money in today or in a hurry? Its worth the drive. Theres never a line at the teller window and there are very few people waiting to have personal appointments with employees for discussing their finances or loans, what have you. But the absolutely magical reasons for remembering this place are the hours. If youve missed your regular location and you can make it to this location before it closes? It does have extended hours. And the tellers are always in a good mood and thats because theyve had an easy day because of the location and theyre decent people who havent been working non-stop all day. I dont think Ive ever been in line behind somebody when I arrive. This place has been a lifesaver or at least a huge convenience because of its hours. Just when I think that Ive missed my opportunity to get a check in? I remember this location and look it up sometimes I have two hours to spare. Its not hard to get to even though it looks like it on the map. You can literally pull into the parking lot off the service road. Mark this one on your map cuz one day youre going to need it. Im sure youve been in situations where you wish the bank was open later because you just absolutely had to pay something or get something in your account? At times like those traffic and distance dont really matter. You just want to get it done... today. If you can make it? This place is your answer to that problem.

Terrible bank, they make it impossible to make payment from another bank. My main bank is chase, i used to be able to set auto pay, not they now make it impossible. They also charge $7 to make loan payments. The also dont process your payments correctly, they constantly say you have past due payment, for a five month period they keep calling about payment and I made double and triple payment to my HELOC thinking it was past due. Dont get trick by their rates.

Lexis W. At the High Five Branch was fast, focused, and extended great customer service. She let a group of know that she was sorry we were experiencing issues with our card and accounts. That her manager would be right with us. When our wait was extended she went to the manager asked if she could get us started. She printed new cards gave us directions. I recently had the pleasure of being at the Credit Union of Texas (High Five Branch) with a co-worker on our Lunch break. When we walked in it was a little busy and I noticed a young lady Teller that was helping a rude customer! It stood out to me because this young lady never lost her composure or her beautiful smile. Be forewarned, the lobby may open at 9 am but unless you only need the most basic of banking services provided by the teller/manager Alfredo, you ll be waiting around 25 minutes for one of the personal bankers to come in. Having issue with Zelle and Cash App. family transfer funds through Zelle and Cash App I never received funds to my account. I am still waiting to see where the funds are , customer service was not much help. Hold times for customer service are not good, hold times ranging from 15 to 20 mins. Also going into a Richardson Branch I waited over an hour to see someone just to get a new Debit Card on Saturday 11am. Credit Union of Texas please work on changing the style of the Debit cards they do not look authentic.

The amount of times I have had to call to get a payoff amount on a car loan is 5 times too many, this is simple information. I was then transferred several times and each time the new person had no idea what I was trying to accomplish. No notes were passed along, there is zero communication from within. No one seems to know how to do their job properly and trying to get simple information from someone is an all day hassle. This payoff question should have been answered within 2 minutes and I have been back and forth with this company for 4 straight hours. Management needs to train these folks to better assist their customers, if you have money in here or are thinking of getting a loan DO NOT DO IT. They may have decent auto loan rates but the customer services completely wipes any upside potential this credit union may have. To top it off someone placed me on hold and then after 5 minutes the call just went to their voicemail and hung up on me. TERRIBLE SERVICE

I came to apply for An auto loan, at first I was denied. However I came back 1week later I met Franklyna, I think she is new to this location, but was able to help me reapply and got me approval, I wasn t excepting to get a great offer since I was denied the first time. Didnt have allot of issues with this bank until they did an update to the credit card portal. The new site is straight up horrible and confusing, it honestly looks like it was coded in 2005 by a college student. I have no idea why the previous site is no longer in use, it was honestly one better experiences Ive had with online banking and card management. If they dont fix this soon I may be closing my account.

I ve been a member for over 20 years. I lost my job back in March due to the virus and my daughter also has leukemia. They refuse to waive overdraft fees. At first I was told only 3 a year but with the virus they could possibly waive more. I was able to get 10 waived total but was told that s all they could do and it was a one time offer. They like to try and come across as helping their customers but bottom line is they don t.

During a time of crisis and my wedding, the manager at the McKinney location denied my request to release MY own money stating that I already had funds released. They put a 7 day hold on my bonus check and are currently issuing it to me in increments. Thanks CUTX! When my money is released...I ll take my business and my money to a customer friendly credit union.

*Edit* Account has been closed and I was contacted by 2 managers. Nice job on fixing the problem, thank you. Extremely disappointed. I closed my account in person (like you have to do) and now almost 2 months later, it s not closed. I sent an email the day of to the branch manager and he ghosted me (I was asking about the $10 maintenance fee when I had it open for maybe a week) but he never responded. Fast forward to today, apparently account is still open, more fees incurred, and no way to contact directly except by going up there in person again. When you get this fixed, I ll remove this review, but right now I think people should literally go anywhere else except this credit union.... regardless of the branch.

Google reviews are only when Im mad and want others to understand that if I took the time out when I was mad then it must be bad. But this is exactly the opposite. The branch manager is Roy and he is probably the best manager at a bank I have ever dealt with. I just love my new switch to a credit Union. He has taken time to sit there several times and call as many people as it takes to get me my answers and has gone above and beyond. I called him at 5:59pm today and he actually called me back at 6:03 to tell me it was resolved. They close at 6pm. Try getting any other bank to even call you before close let alone after. I told him I was just calling to thank him. I feel like these people are my family the only difference is if I give my family money to hold I wont get it back!!

Do yourself a favor and use another bank. Lack of customer service and absolutely not willing to put customers needs first are the driving factors I will never use them again. I ve been a customer for many years and have had over 10 loans with CUofTX and will be taking my business elsewhere. The recent changes in the way they do business and customer support are the primary reasons for this decision. Don t make the same mistake I did thinking CUofTX is a good alternative to a traditional bank. They are exactly the same. It s a shame. On hold for over 20 minutes is not acceptable!!! Update!!! CUoTX is still lacking customer service. These people are aggressive without a soul. Calling to threaten me on Christmas Eve. I asked if I could call back and was forced to discuss my situation in front of family. What a shame... these people.

Applied for a loan waited 3 days and still didnt close on my loan! The loan officer doesnt respond back to emails or phone calls. Hes always on lunch break(calls go straight to voicemail saying on lunch break). I tried requesting a different loan officer, but all they do is transfer you back to the same loan officer like they dont understand English. Horrible experience and do not recommend!

Great interest rate on my auto loan, absolutely horrific experience after getting the loan. Their website and payment system is a train wreck, they refuse to mail or email payment instructions, and the loan officer who sold me the loan ghosted me immediately after. If you get lost or cant remember anything only solution is to call them and spend 30 minutes on the phone instead of reading a quick tutorial on how to make your payment correctly. Member Services just told me on the phone it wasnt their job to help me figure out how to use their system, but it was up to the members to figure out on their own. Do not recommend unless you enjoy being stressed out all the time.

They have the worst customer service of any bank that I have ever dealt with. Today alone I have been transferred 3 times and been on hold for over 30 minutes. They continued to ask for you to verify who you are and once you have answered their security questions they transfer you to someone voicemail that is not even available with no regard to your time on hold. If possible stay away from this bank!!!!!!

By far the worst bank ever! Do yourself a favor a get yourself a loan with another bank. Or if you have a loan with them and you trade in your car be prepared to wait forever to get your car paid off. they suck at sending new payoffs to dealers to get customers loans paid off. Then when you call no one ever answers or they place you on hold forever.

They advertise good rates, but I have had so much difficult with their customer service from getting wrong information to an agent trying to sneak in additional charges on my auto loan. One of the worst things though is if you have to call them the IVR automatic machine is terrible and it takes FOREVER to connect with an agent. I regret.

I had a bad experience with cutx personally from the very start. I am co-signed on a loan with a now ex-boyfriend of mine. At the very beginning when I was first talking to somebody at cutx I was pretty much just handed the phone to talk to somebody about a loan I didnt know anything about, and the guy on the other end of the phone line which was obviously a cutx employee was already demanding my information so that I could co-sign this loan for my boyfriend at the time. He was extremely demanding and he was pretty rude about it and it was like pulling teeth to try to talk to him about other options and details. He just wanted to make sure that he got this loan through and he literally cared about nothing else. But it doesnt end there of course I had to learn a lesson the hard way you dont co-sign a loan for somebody that you think you care about to help them just in case they end up being irresponsible in the end. So now the loan has completely defaulted back to me and cutx will not assist me with getting any information to sign into online banking and view the loan progress and whats left to pay off or anyting. They wont allow me to access a loan that I am fully responsible for because not only has the other person refused to make any payments theyve also refused to talk to me about this darn loan. So Im stuck in the dark from cutx and Im stuck in the dark from another person who honestly doesnt matter anymore, and you would think that since Im the only person paying this loan you would think cutx would offer some assistance with accessing the loan and of course they will not. I definitely dont recommend co-signing a loan for anybody but if you are in a position where a loved one or a child of yours needs assistance and asks you for help co-signing a loan for them your best bet is to take your business somewhere other than cutx. I know I will never do any business with them.

I need car Auto loan for so i contact customer care about auto loan . They told me we are very competitive for other credit union i told representative i got better rate from City Credit union 1.99% for 36 month but car which I am buying is under the auto loan with CUTX so I think process will be reliable . They told me we cant give you that rate but we can request to underwriter that customer get better rate from other place so they can offer 2.99% . I said ok because I heard about CUTX customer service is good .Regarding that i ask how fast your process for Auto loan they told me if you do application over the phone we will respond you within 2 -3 hours . I said ok and applied over the phone after that i didnt receive any call from CUTX loan officer her name is Melisa . She even didnt call back about my application whats going on very rude i have to follow up constantly . Still application is there no response . Customer Service sucks. No one spoke or came out to help me. It seems like Im invisible... Not good Credit Union of Texas. Navy Federal and City credit union is much nicer! Agree, customer service here is iffy. I closed my account years ago, the lady said she would cut me a check for the over-pay on my loan pay-off and close the account. Never got the check, account was drawn down on fees until now it has like $5 in it, they wont stop sending me statements/life insurance policy sign ups/other things I dont want. Bad taste in mouth from it. I even called to try and save them the money of sending the statements and they told me I had to physically come in to get the account closed... I waited on hold for 10 minutes and no longer do business with you, why would I take the time to physically come in? Youre the ones spending the money, Im not going to give you MORE of my time.

The one time I did speak with a real person, they wouldnt transfer me, but said I had to call the main number again. Judging by the customer reviews, this is not an issue they care to fix. They will hold your money for up to a week when you make a deposit over a certain amount (which is pretty low, under $1000 I m pretty sure) and then tell you it s GENEROUS of them to release a fraction of it to you so you can pay your bills on time. Somehow giving you access to your own money is now a COURTESY. Generous and courtesy are the words THEY used when I called them, by the way. Also, they have my husband s and my auto loans. When we needed to register our vehicles in another state because we just moved, we ended up spending the entire day at the DMV because they kept telling us they would fax over our titles and then never did so. We called at least three different times and they lied to us each time. Seriously, we sat at the DMV waiting for their assistance for like SIX HOURS. I missed an entire day of work because of their idiocy.

Attrocious website. I tried signing up online and encountered so many bugs I decided against it. The forced rerouting of pages can force you to start over if you click on links. I encountered this just on the first few pages of the signup process and wasted too much time only to end up with nothing here. Im using Chrome & Firefox Focus, and Im not going to download some other browser just for this, especially when I need mobile banking. HARD PASS.
