The worst experience I have ever had w a bank. Do not recommend. I my card was locked on a Sunday because i couldn’t remember my pin. I called customer service for help. They are closed. Till Monday. The app is trash! The chat bot is trash! I haven’t even had this account for a month. I try to Zelle my money to my chase account since my card was locked and I need gas! The Zelle isn’t working. I’m closing my account today. Nothing but inconveniences!

Many might not know that CUTX stands for Care Understanding Teaching and eXceeding expectations. Today I went to the Ross location for an auto loan and was assisted by one of my favorite bankers, Ashley Piña.
I just wanted to shout out that no matter how upset and frustrated i come in for something systemically wrong, she has always resolved my issues with a positive attitude. I’ve applied for a couple loans with the other credit unions in the past but for some reason, had a difficult time getting the application processed. Until i meet Ashely, never have i’ve been this satisfied with their service. She’s found ways time and time again to make sure i get what i need.
Ashley is a perfect example of what the Credit Union stands for because not only is she very attentive to my needs but she helps me understand the processes with guidance and is always exceeding my expectations. I will encourage others to reach out and get your business done through her. Ashley will set you up right and not leave you abandoned like other banks that just consider you another transaction. Hope to see her grow soon as she deserves it and hope her work doesn’t go unnoticed.

Been with CUTX for more than five years. They always mail out refinancing car options, life insurance options and extra “perks” but once you apply for it they automatically deny you after running credit.
My account information was compromised after car was stolen (I lost all material things and documents shortly after moving from home). CUTX held check that was supposed to be deposited for an additional week knowing I was in need of my money and have been a customer for years. On top of that, it was from a trusted government agency. I understand there are steps to getting things approved for security measures but how about verification process? I called to get help with something else prior to the compromised information and had two sets of security questions to answer (exactly same questions), I passed the first set and failed the other set… then was told, “maybe you provided different response for each one when setting up the security answers.”
They will lock you out of your account and close early and give you a number to member services (I’m not sure what they can help you with aside from telling you to call back during business hours).
The branch staff are always nice (over the phone is a different matter).
The app chat option is a joke. Good luck with that.
For some reason I am no longer able to deposit my checks through the app and everything just seems to be getting more complex to achieve. I’m not sure if inflation and Covid-19 has anything to do with this but I hope it gets better soon. I am closing my account and looking into other options to store my funds.
They also charge five dollars for a new card if not fraud related (I never remember them doing that). They charged me and then had to reimburse account because they was not looking to see the fraud notes on the account. Card machine always broken and waiting on card to come in the mail is always a pain. They should come up with a vertical card option like Capital One.

I have two people that made my life easier with my auto approval. Let me start off with Ashley Piña. I contacted CUTX and Ashley right from the start was professional, knowledgeable, kind, skillful, and easy to express concerns with. I explained to Ashley my situation and walked me through the steps on how to get started with the approval process. I have never dealt with a credit union so reliable and so understanding like CUTX. Having representatives like Ashley makes this a whole lot easier. Thank you Ashley for explaining the process and getting me to the correct department.
The second person that I would like to recognize is my loan officer Reagan Holder. When I say that Reagan made this experience wonderful, I mean it. Reagan provided so many options with what car I could get. My goal was to get my BMW M4 that I have always wanted and it if wasn’t for the advice that Reagan provided I probably wouldn’t have gotten the car. Reagan got me the best deal that I could’ve asked for. He went above and beyond and made sure that I was taken care of not only at CUTX but also the dealership.
CUTX thank you for having these two individuals that are going above and beyond for their customers. I will be referring CUTX to more of my colleagues, co-workers, family members, etc 😁

Opened a business account and a personal account last Monday. Worst banking experience I habe ever encountered. Its Sunday and tomorrow 7 days after opening the accounts Im going in to close them. If you need a bank for a business account do not open one here. Absolutely horrible servive and fees are crazy. Run dont walk!!!

DONT BANK HERE PLEASE!! I have only been banking with them since jan 2024. The system keeps going offline. I was in line trying to pay for food and my card kept declining despite having money in my account. Was told that the online banking went offline, which prevented me from accessing my money. I explained how dangerous that was, but was told It doesn t take long to come back online. It has happened 3 times. Zelle never works and you can only send 500. The staff at the Ross location in Dallas made me cash my check elsewhere and could not tell me the policies of the back. I used to be with chime and I never had any issues. As soon as I move I as switching. DO NOT BANK HERE!!!

If I could give them a negative I would. This bank is so inconvenient and I regret getting this bank. My debit card was stolen and I called to file a claim. I was told that I would have to wait for 10 BUSINESS DAYS before I could receive my funds back. Other banks will give a temporary credit until the claim is completed. I was then charged a 35 dollar insufficient fund fee for the charge made on my card when it was stolen. Customer service is very ghetto. They take FOREVER to answer (meaning about 20-30 mins to answer) and when they do I get someone who seems to hate being at work and answering phone calls. They rush you off of the phone and a lot of times they don t even know the answer to a simple question. They also charge you for your first debit card when you open your account which no other bank does. I really regret getting this bank account.

Yesterday I went to the CUTX on Ross without an appointment and met promptly with Emith Badillo. I found him to be courteous, informative and extremely helpful. He quickly brought together a team and came up with an excellent plan to help me. I am delighted with the outcome!

Nancy Gutierrez was the most patient and thorough cuoftx agent Ive worked with. She resolved every issue I came in with. She got approval from a mngr, she called a branch that I had visited and got clarity for me, she resolved a debit card delima, and offered advice on some other financial matters. She was relentless in finding out information that I needed. Ive never had an agent take care of varied issues while smiling and not rushing me through. Excellent service!! Thank you so much

Words could only fall short in describing the helpfulness of Ms Nancy Gutierrez at the Ross Avenue branch. For over 6 months digital Bethany would not let me access my account using my account number of 52 years nor my phone. Nor SS#. I was locked out of my account - MY MONEY. Ms Gutierrez was a listener, question asker, patient and tried many ways to allow me access to MY account and MONEY. After almost two hours she resolved this problem. She was kind, supportive and completely simpatico w digital Bethany s lack of intelligence - artificial or otherwise. Honestly I was about ready to leave the credit union but Ms Gutierrez has shown me you still have capable people working there. She deserves a Pat on the back not just from me but her superiors. She also set up to bank online. Do not quite know how to use it yet but I will learn. Please keep employees like Ms Nancy Gutierrez on your staff. She is a REAL PERSON and I am a REAL PERSON. This works very well. Bethany is NOT A PERSON. She is not compassionate. Not smart. It was a pleasure to have the old fashioned Service I remember from the original credit union in 1971. The teller at this location was supposed to process my skip a pay the day I went in. Turns out, he didn t get me to sign a. Document that s required so it still withdrew. I need you to know that I have been a member of Credit Union of Texas on Ross Avenue in Dallas, TX since 1994 when I moved here. I got a job as a teacher with Dallas ISD, and was told that my direct deposit could be handled by them without a problem. This continues as a known fact because of the wonderful professionals you hire. They all are knowledgeable, and can call me by name when talking about my transactions. They changed location to 3305 Ross Avenue, but the committed professionals remained the same at your banking organization. I have been to Europe on vacation, to Central and South America, and when I check my once a month deposit, it has always been accurate to the statement issued to me by the school district. What blew me away were the ways in which they handled the Zelle account that I wanted to use to send money to a friend in Houston, TX. I came in contact with two tellers, two bankers, and the branch manager because I spent two days in going through the right way to send the money. At no time was I belittled or talked down to at all. Every step of what was needed was clearly explained to me. I was not I treated any differently from what had been their handling of me over these many years. For this, I would like some special recognition to go Moisés Martínez - Hernández (Branch Manager), Luis Albiter, Maritza Sánchez, Felix Mendoza, and Kathy Clark who patience and expeditiously worked with me those two days that are still in etched in my mind. These professionals went above and beyond the call of duty to help me on October 5th and 6th. It takes a Team to keep the ball rolling and sailing across to a perfect winning goal each day. So, I would be remiss if I did not thank the others at that Ross Avenue Branch in Dallas like Nancy Gutiérrez, Alejandra García, Raymond Aguilar, Ashley Piña, Cindy Pérez, and Edith Badillo. I thank you Credit Union of Texas for know to hire people who have people working skills to share their expertise with those who some might view as just another person walking into their bank on that impressionably fateful day. You might not be able to see their real need, but your outstanding employees know exactly how to serve the public as they leave in them an impressionable mark on that client for a long time. I hate dealing with Bethany!! There is no way to get to a teller at a particular branch anymore! I have been with CU of Texas for almost 23 years.. I will be looking at a way to replace this bank. Its too dificult to do buisness with anymore, But hey, I think the one in the Colony or Plano has a coffee shop in it? They should just sell coffee! Even after the post. It requires you to rate it and put at least 1 star before it will let you post. As if you didnt even want to give them one star wasnt a hint of a rating to them already? 11/21/2023 I am going to cancel my membership with this financial institution. Their customer service representatives are completely disrespectful. I want management to call me. Specifically from the South Hampton branch where I have conducted business for more than 2 years. The physical staff at this location are very kind and courteous, the phone representatives are absolutely disrespectful. Below is my previous review from 4 months ago --------- This financial institution has been one of the absolute worst credit unions I have ever attempted to continue business with Over 2 days of physically arriving in their locations and not a single resolution has occurred. Great rates for saving I suppose, but their member services are inconsiderate of their actual members. Youre given very simple and specific instructions, when followed, youre just told you need more support from higher management. Oh lord

I have been waiting to write a review until we had some time at this CUTX location. We ve NEVER had a bad customer service experience here; as a matter of fact, it s all been over the top GOOD, every time! They ve helped me increase my credit score astronomically and have helped us in emergent situations, even. (Emergent travel due to death and illness). The ONLY thing I wish was better were opening account holds. It took us several months to have quick access to our funds since we didn t have direct deposit. Be SURE you know this going in. Our banker was good at explaining it to us; but I know not all do. ESPECIALLY because most people are on direct deposit so it is mostly a non-issue. However if your employer is still writing checks or you re self employed; you may be waiting 10-14 days for your $$ to be made available to you in those first 3 months. AFTER the first 90 days we ve not had any issues, however. AND their app has really stepped up in the last 6-8 months as well making external transfers, applying for loans, etc SEAMLESS.

Im a new member who joined in July of this year. Since joining, my experience with CUTX has been a good one. My local branch is the Ross Avenue location in Dallas. The staff there is always friendly, helpful and accommodating. I recently visited that particular branch to get help with an issue that came up concerning my auto loan paperwork. I had the pleasure of being helped by Nancy Gutierrez, a personal banker at that location. She immediately began working to resolve my issue with care and concern. She was very knowledgeable and even recommended other products offered by CUTX which also peaked my interest. If you are looking for a solid credit union, with quality products and great customer service, then CUTX might be the answer.

Came in today to get something simple signed. The wait was unreasonable. There were literally only 3 non employees. There were about 5 employees standing at the counter. One employee in the lobby on his phone and only one banker taking clients on a Friday! It s very frustrating to be made to wait when you see the staff laughing joking and enjoying themselves.

The Credit Union of Texas Ross Avenue office has always provided excellent service. When I experienced fraudulent activity to my account, the representative was able to resolve all of my issues in a very timely manner. She was sympathetic, professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable. On another occasion, Matt and Emith researches and determined that my Zelle account was correctly set up and functioning properly. Also, they advised me to open another checking account to avoid the nightmare of additional fraudulent activity by having a separate account used for transacting all financial business and transferring money from it for miscellaneous business. To date, I have been very pleased with the quality of service provided by the staff at the Ross Avenue office.

their insurance department are so incompetent verifying my insurance. ive tried working with them multiple times and they always seem to mess it up somehow. I recommend lightstream or another smaller credit union if you want a loan.

Their customer service in the call center is absolutely terrible. When we were in the middle of Covid, they offered no relief or accommodations to people who fell ill, and their staff was so unhelpful during that time. Save yourself time--- go elsewhere. Their rates arent much better, and combined with their customer service, its just not worth it. I will never use them again, and am counting the days to refinance my vehicle. They used to have an employee named Moises who was the absolute best--- he gave amazing financial advice and direction, I was bummed to see his office gone. I wish I knew where he went, I valued his opinion.

I reached out to Credit Union of Texas in December interested in transferring my existing auto loan over from Bank of America. I was quoted a 4.74% interest rate by Miranda. She then put me in contact with Carlos Becerra from Loan Team 12. They ran my credit, making my credit score go down- which is fine usually as I intended to do business with yall and understand that is part of the process. On 12/15, he emailed me saying I was approved and requested documentation which I provided on 12/19. I emailed and called Carlos several times over 2 months. I left voicemails and I never heard anything back at all. I also tried calling Miranda again and she would transfer me to Carlos and then nothing. Today on 2/8 I called the main number and someone said he was on the phone and would call me back. Nothing.... I called again and his VM said he was at lunch so I left another message. He finally called me back at 2pm today, the first contact made since December. He said he didnt know why I would want to switch my loan over because the rate was over 6% now which is pretty much the same as Bank of America. I am completely disgusted with how much time and effort I put in to try to give them my business- including an additional $7K I wanted to put towards my loan during the refinance. I would not waste your time with this business!!!

Worst bill pay system. They use SpeedPay to accept online payments to your loans. SpeedPay glitched when processing two of my payments and showed returned payments, but the system never actually tried to access my bank account. They declined to fix the glitches and told me I had to wait a year before I could use that bank account to make another payment, telling me my options were to open up a MasterCard credit card or open up a new bank account. We wont be using them for another car loan.

I just opened my account the beginning of this month I haven t even had my account for 2 weeks Doing business with them is already going wrong I tried to deposit some money into my account on dec 12th the machine ended up taking $100 from me and didn t even deposit it into my account I spoke to someone in the Inside and they told me that the machine does this often and they haven t had anyone to come out to service it I ended up having to do a dispute which they told me originally it would be 1-2 business days now they are stating it takes 1-13 business days for you to hear back from the dispute claims person they told me December 15 is when the machine gets serviced by the people but when I just came here Monday dec 20th they told me the people haven t even been out here to service the machine to see if it took my money I am so upset I planned on using the money I had to buy my kids Christmas gift but looks like I have to wait I wish I never made a account with them If it ain t one thing it s always another with these bank places I have to wait till dec 27th just to see if they did there job smh I will give you guys a update i advise you to walk in and deposit your money unless you want to end up like a victim Like me

This is the best visit I can remember at any CUTX. A gentleman employee opened the door for me and welcomed me to the bank. I had a very pleasant experience with a teller for a deposit transaction. My final transaction was replacing my lost debit card with Luis. He was so friendly and personable. A true 5 star customer experience today. Way to go CUTX!

This location lacks basic customer service skills. It is extremely hard to get in contact with anyone. Roy (the manager) isnt accessible to customers when his employees arent doing their job. I will not use this location again.

So I ve been with Cutx for years and have never had any issues ! I went into the Ross branch Saturday and when I tell you I received the best customer service ever!!! The relationship specialist Susie Montoya she was very helpful, knowledgeable and just heaven sent, I really feel it was meant for me to speak with her she helped me with my banking needs and then we were just talking as if we had known each other for years . I come from a banking background and people like her are definitely great assets and what keep people looking fwd to coming into a branch.

I go in at 5 to get something notorized at 530 the first guy before me had been there since 430. Theres 3 customer service people one has clients the other two have no one. For 30 min we watch them doing something but not helping people in the lobby. 4 people waiting after me. So the people waiting are you going to cut them off and tell them to go home at 6 after weve been waiting for over an hour or at the speed they were working is someone going to stay until 7 to help the people. I left. That absolutely unexceptionable. Nobody should be waiting for over a hour while two people are doing whatever. Let them stay after work and do whatever and help the people that pay your salary. Because without clients you dont have a business.....

I open an account at the txcu in hopes to do all my business here and transfer my accounts here. Numerous problems. I open and account and i got automatically signed in at op in. A decision the banks makes for you. I did over draft my account, in which i had never done before, at another bank, do to not being allowed. I did not receive a single notification via text, email nothing. I received overdraft fees. I asked why was i op in. I didnt sign up for it. The bank automatically puts you in. When I refinance with txcu i got a rate on the mid 3% interest rate. When I was sold to caliber by cutx the put me in an 8% rate. FYI Just be careful I learned the hard way at txcu Atm doesn t take deposit either.

I have attempted to go through the CUTX to make my payments or online never works. The service in bank is slow and you wait hours on the phone being passes around talking to different people and the outcome remains the same. I have had the same problems over and over. I have had money in the bank on automatic payment they have called me stating I m late. I asked how is it late on automatic payment? We re sorry we made a mistake. Banking should not be this difficult !!!!!!!! I am going to settle my accounts and never look back. To many mistakes!!!!!

Recently had my father go into the hospital, and had to help out my family with money. Nothing like only being able to move my payment out two weeks and cant help me out with skipping payment just for this month to relieve some of the stress. I dont think Ill honestly being doing business with this bank anymore. crazy how heartless this place is. I mean I guess as long as your getting your money. Its pretty clear they do not care about their customers. I used to give recommendations to this credit union. Im done with that.

Horrible customer service! If I knew how to give 0 stars I would! In less than 3 weeks. I referred 5 auto loans. As part of the promotion, I haven t received compensation for any of them with the exception of 1! I ve called to speak to customer service multiple times, with the intention of following up. One had an attitude that was terrible!! The others committed to calling back and never did. I wanted to fully transfer my banking over to CUTX but I ll be taking my business to elsewhere.

I went by my branch office CUTX on Ross and spoke with the most courteous, polite and knowledgeable associate CUTX has had since the original location near Ross and Fitzhugh. Luis Albiter is an awesome addition to this location, he serves clients with excellence. It was a good Start when I opened my Account with the Credit Union of Texas. My Complaint has NOTHING to do with this Specific Location on Ross Ave. They are Amazing. But the Advertisement says : Get Paid 2 Days earlier NO Way, if like the End of the Day or Next Morning as Promised. Do Not Count on this Feature !!! The new upgrade on the mobile app was very difficult because of poor training. In todays climate I understand how hard it is to find and keep good employees. On top of the employee shortages the training is probably rushed. I get it... I was really struggling to gain access. It was a very simple mistake or IT issue. Ive got multiple accounts and a joint account. Apparently when your on a joint account things do not go smoothly ... This is a constant issue with this bank. In order to open the new app I needed my solo account number.. I only have this account again because of the ignorance behind the joint account I was forced to open an account to get a credit card. I never wanted another account with this bank. My husband and I have a joint account and this bank is thinking that my husband needs to be the primary. So this obsolete solo account was opened for no real legit reason. I do not like having two accounts. I never use that other one. So this second account number often messes things up in regards to the app or updates, ect ect. It also confuses the tellers when trying to pay loans on the phone cc ect its just stupid. All at the banks doing again I never needed a second account. Moises Martinez-Hernandez was a great help he finally realized the error of the incorrect account number.. I waisted two whole lunch breaks dealing with this ignorance. The teller just walked me through the app and got us locked out. So several days of no online access in my opinion due to poor training. The teller should have known that it could be the incorrect or multiple account numbers. We all learned some learn the hard way. She was very friendly just was not equipped with all the right tools.

After dealing with BofA, Wells Fargo,, NFCU, USAA, NFECU, BBVA and a couple more, I was tired of being nickel and dime d(sp?) to death. I was going away from big banks again but needed some local atms for cash deposits so CUTX made sense. I have never in my life had actual fraud claims turned down (card was stolen) or checks not deposited so this one has physically cost me the most. They farm out everything so they cannot do much for you in a branch anyway except maybe change your address or give you a replacement card for one that got stolen and never got your money back from (not once but twice!). Boy I miss Wachovia, which was bought by Wells Fargo who I know is like BofA but i will give them another chance. Ugh.

Representative Daniel just hung up on me as I was explaining the need to legally notify the credit union of my fathers passing to halt any activity on the account. He proceeded to tell me that I needed a death certificate which is not available for 90 days. I explained that I have the death record to provide, until the certificate is processed and that he was supposed to make a notation in their system as they would be responsible for reimbursing any funds taken from his account after notice was given. He was very rude told me that to not threaten him and hung up on me. I would NEVER do business with this credit union and will be pulling all funds from my fathers account immediately!

Went to get money out of the ATM. Live in the neighborhood and am already of member of a CU and was going looking at transferring to the Credit Union of Texas. Anyway, went to the teller and asked to break 2- $20.00 bills. The teller wouldnt do it because I wasnt a member of this CU... that right, this CU would break 2-$20.00 bills! I asked, are you members of shared branch... nope. This place is behind the times, limited on service, and has no desire to attract... much less help new and potential members. Your CU board and management really needs to read this.

Very rude customer service. Refused to finance a used vehicle after I was pre-qualified for a much larger loan than required for the car I wanted to purchase. Specialist I spoke with said it was a total loss vehicle, when it was not. I asked if theyd reconsider if I had the car inspected by a collision specialist and received a curt reply back of no, we would not reconsider. Nothing was wrong during my test drive despite the severity of the damage reported on the Carfax. My bet is that CUTX just didnt want to finance a vehicle that was as cheap as the one I planned to buy. Will not get any of my future business.

I even received a letter confirming my address and YEP, you guessed it, No title!!! Sit on hold for an hour!!! The people are pathetic! I started with them in 1984, got my first new car. Back then it was no problem and great customer service. My credit was great so it wasnt a problem. Started with the old one on Ross nice people worked there. Now things have changed and you may run into some rude people on the phone. But anywho I want change staying with them no matter what. They are better than most. And you know everything changes with time. Somethings I dont agree with but Im staying with Credit union of Texas. After all they gave me my first new car and a loan.

They hold all checks that are remote deposited for a WEEK. If you call and pester them, sometimes they will release part of it but they ll act like they re doing you a big favor and it s inconvenient for them. They actually had the nerve to tell me that when they don t hold a check, it s a courtesy. I m stunned. They also told me it was generous of them to give me access to a portion of my own funds, and said if I m still worried about overdrafting I can apply for a line of credit. They tried to tell me this policy of holding checks for a week is state and federal law, but as far as I can tell, that is not true (of course, I m not a lawyer, but Google suggests it was a lie.) We will be switching banks as it is clear that they engage in predatory practices and encourage employees to lie to and manipulate customers.

Every time I ve come to this location the ATM check deposit isn t working. This has been an ongoing issue for about four month. I end up making multiple trips to handle an issue that this location promotes convience. It s been such an annoying issue it s making me consider a different credit union. CUTX offers some great services, but their focus on customer service seems to be severely lacking. It took several days and multiple different loan officers to finalize my auto loan with them, due to delays in their responses, and I got very contradictory information from each different representative. 9 times out of 10, it takes a minimum of 15 minutes to speak with a representative, sometimes much longer, and the automated recording does not state an expected wait time. They do offer a call back option, but making myself available to answer their call back, without any idea as to when that will be, is near impossible. Each time I am finally able to get a hold of someone, there s no apology for the delay, misinformation, or trouble I m experiencing (which is much more frequent than with any other credit union I ve used). I m currently on day 3 of trying to get a hold of them about a late fee they charged on my loan payment, which they set up on auto-pay. They ve apparently been experiencing a system glitch with charges reflecting correctly online, which has remained unresolved for almost 2 months (their words). I really wanted to love working with this credit union long-term, as I have with other credit unions elsewhere, but I m very frustrated with how ridiculously difficult it is to get thorough, accurate service from them.

Worst experience ever. I applied for my account & went into the branch to complete the process and to get my account information to set up direct deposit from my job. I got there and waited over an hour to be helped. And it seemed like all the representatives were coming out if their office to assist the people that were waiting in line for a teller and not assisting the people (including me) that were waiting & seated in the lobby area. Some were just sitting in their office doing absolutely nothing instead of helping customers. Very bad, awful, disappointing 1st impression. Will be closing my account ASAP.

I went to open an account for my daughter and the employees made her feel special. The environment was warming & comfortable. I was only going to for my daughter but now im switching this bank . Definitely gonna recommend this to family and friends

Utterly disappointed with this branch! Totally devastated! Will be at this location first thing Monday morning closing my mothers and my accounts.

Denise Trevino deserves the highest recognition. She resolved our issues in one visit. Until we dealt with her we were frustrated and ready to close the account, but she is professional and served us well.

Minus the fact that when my check cleared (9 business days) and the resulting high volume of purchases on the same day (with a freeze on the account) went through, I was satisified. The only reason there was so many transactions in a single day was because of a nine day bus
