The Manager at this location is impatient and incompetent. I wanted to open an unincorporated non-profit association, and because he wasnt educated on how to open one, he said they couldnt do it. He rushed out of the room and was unavailable to answer my questions....since he didnt know how to help me. Bottom line, I closed my biz checking account and will take my biz to a real bank.....that knows how to open a basic unincorporated nonprofit assoc.

I have used the bank yes, bank, because they don t value member relationships like most credit unions for more than a year. I obtained a credit card with a $2000 credit line after initially providing verification that I was a victim of fraud to the degree that I received a second social security number. The card is used for my work related travel, and, for more than a year, I have made payments early and for amounts between $100-$2000 (usually no less than $500-$600). These are well in excess of the required minimum payment. I have requested credit line increases to ease my travel needs, and I have consistently been told: 1. I am no better than my still fraud ridden credit score (getting fraud removed and getting credit bureaus to reflect accurate information is a whole other story), and 2. that if I apply again, I will be subject to a processing fee. This card has been maxed and paid in full several times, yet, despite my efforts to establish a positive relationship - how credit unions used to operate, I am reminded that I am just a number. It s bad enough that they take 3-4 days to respond to messages; it s next level to realize that I am no better than a number. How rude is it to basically say If you bother us again, we will charge you for our time. I d recommend finding a credit union that values you and your business because that is NOT this place.

Worse bank ever. Have had savings account over twenty years here but cant be verified to get checking account? What? Asks 1000 questions to verify you every time you call. Literally 10 mins worth of questions. Have to fill out multiple forms every month now for a transfer Ive done for more than 20 years. And every month there is a new hoop added to jump through in order to get to YOUR OWN MONEY! Save yourself a headache. Even cash app better than this. And dont even think about talking to a Manager or anything like that. The employees literally ignore your request Everytime. Someone here need to be fired.

Received an Autoloan with them through a dealership. Called earlier today and the call was dropped. The lady promptly called back and left a message. When I got service again, I followed the telephone prompts back to where I was afterwards it say it s gonna refer me to a customer service representative but only to ring for a second and brings me back to the home menu for phone prompts making it an never ending circle of filling out member information, referring me to a rep, and back to square 1.

Made the most unfortunate decision to finance my car with them. The car is becoming a lemon and I needed some formal documents. first 3 times all different persons told me they will send it. Never received. fourth one told me I have to pay per hour to investigate. I can look at how much i paid each month in minutes. But I wanted nothing to do with them so i said sure. Nothing. I hate this bank. I can tell they barely function. I can tell they have no idea what they doing. I can tell they are outdated. I can tell they probably prey on the clueless. I was clueless. Never again. Please stay away from this bank. This bank is incompetence in physical company form.

Never ever have been late on payment in 5 years. The past two times I have sent in a check to a Riata Vista Circle and not the Lamar St. address. Twice now my check has not reached them in time (supposedly). Check was mailed on the 13th and it is the 23rd. The other checks I mailed at the same time have cleared. Now I have to fight a late charge again! Where is my check going and why arent they posting it? So frustrating. Glad my car will be paid off and I dont have to deal with these people again.

I never go to the physical locations anymore, those were okay...but their app NEVER seems to work, and their online banking is down multiple days throughout the week...hold times on the phones are ridiculous with no option to get a callback. Once someone finally answers, they transfer to another department or person...so AGAIN a long hold time. Im cancelling my account because whats the point of online banking if you cant access anything or get any assistance.

They not only allowed my account information to be compromised, for every $2 they stole, this bank charged me $27. 34 times they let my account overdrawn @ $2 a time, and charged me $27. Not only that, it has BEEN OVER A MONTH AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO FIGURE THIS OUT. I AM REPORTING THEM TO THE FDIC. Any other bank is better than this one.

I have never had the difficulties with other credit unions as this one. It took almost one year with many calls and e-mails to get added as a joint owner of several accounts. Paper work was sent in but not completely processed for months. Then when the other joint owner passed I could not get the accounts closed due to many delays by the credit union manager despite emailing all of the required paper work. I use another credit union in Northeast Texas that are absolutely wonderful and efficient. Greater Texas Credit Union has enormous manager issues.

0/10 in urgency, I would not recommend this Credit Union. [2.15.2023] Applied for a car loan. [2.20.2023] I wrote via the portal to get an update. [3.02.2023] Still no response, so I called the Credit Union. [3.02.2023] The car was sold to someone else because my loan took too long to get approved. [3.02.2023] I was approved for the loan, and I had to provide documents regarding the vehicle, [3.14.2023] I found another vehicle and provided all information [3.16.2023] STILL no response, even after calling and leaving Kathryn Morgan voicemails.

RUN FROM THIS BANK! They nickle and dime you and even when you have over draft protection they decline to pay it and still charge you $27 x 2 = $54 without even covering the overdraft! They dont do end of day settlements so if you deposit money same day to cover miscalculations, it wont be counted toward your account until after the the $54 fees are taken out. I spoke with Jerry at the contact center previously, who reversed the fee and led me to believe it was a mistake on their part. I called back when it happened again and spoke with Avril who was very cut and dry and explained Jerry misinformed me. Taking my business account elsewhere!!!

Janet M went above and beyond helping us in an unexpected time of need we had 2 deaths in the family back to back she was very patient after a glitch in the system set my payment on the wrong due date and helped us through the entire process in a timely matter. Janet was very professional, compassionate and understanding of our tragedy, im in the customer service field also and customer service is my main priority she was amazing. Janet is what you would really describe as helping with a servants heart which is a motto that I will hold on to for ever from a past employer. Great Service!

Was told by the branch manager they have a policy of not cashing cashiers checks, even if written by them, if it is over a specific dollar amount. How is this even legal let alone good business ? No problem though, walked across the street to Frost Bank who was happy to open an account with the same check.

This credit union has been great. My 91 year old mother has had an account there since the day it opened. I have now had to take over her banking due to issues associated with her age. I have been with grfcu since 2005. I am really grateful to them since they were only ones who approved my first car loan out of college. Thank you. Having said that they need to have better customer service. Never received check books after several tries of ordering. Online portal was abysmal until recently. And it s ridiculous that they charged me5$ for address change failed notification. It s not about the amount but having been their customer for 15 years and with significant savings with them this is a tragedy that they can t treat long standing customers with some courtesy and respect. Still credit unions are better than big banks just need to find a new one.

The phone process is VERY ANNOYING!!! I am trying to make a payment over the phone because the website is NEVER GOOD to use. The phone machine is very slow, not necessary to say my social security out loud! I am thankful for the rate, but this is very annoying. All I am trying to do is make a payment. The payment process is horrible, you can never get an actual person on the phone. It repeats the menu once you get all your account info into the system. It wont let me log into the account. its shows my account phone number to be some off the wall number I have never heard. Needless to say because its obvious, this is so very frustrating!!! I have been with this bank since1997 and now time consider change the bank. Its been twice the holiday ( not a big one I talking about) chase and wells Fargo still open but this one closes 2 days straight. At that time I need real personal services. Not a machine. I understand they close for a holiday but the holiday not until Sunday. At least open drive-thru on Friday and Sunday for a couple of hours. Other than that this bank is awesome. I move 10 away but I still keep with this bank. Now I think I did with them.

I had been given a Visa gift card from Greater Texas Credit Union for my birthday. I called them up using the phone number on the back of my card to inquire about my balance. The first time I called, the person who answered the phone refused to give me my balance to my gift card because I did not know how much was originally on there. I explained to him that was the very reason why I was calling. He then very rudely told me it was against policy and put me hold and hung up. I called a second time, this time another person answered, I explained again, and she told me card was closed now, and hung up on me. NEVER have I had such a negative experience with phone support for a gift card balance check lol. Worst bank/union ever.

I received a letter from them that my final payment on my car loan was less than the normal monthly payment. So I paid that amount. I received a late fee of $18.00 dollars because they said I was late. I didnt argue I just paid it immediately. I then I get another $18.00 late fee on the car loan. So I called and got the runaround, and said a manager would call. No call. I called again only to be told the same. The third call after getting excited the guy told me was I had a late payment on my RV so they were not going to give me my car title until I paid that. I told him that is a different loan and if he wanted to play that game I will not pay the RV loan until I get my Car title. He told me he didnt care. I asked to speak with a manager and he said they are busy and I should call back. Totally illegal, unprofessional and shady. I was steered here by Nyle Maxwell GMC. I think there is some kick backs going on here. I still have not received the title.

I had to reach out to them to get the information for my car loan, then they wanted to change me for paying by phone, very rude, no paperwork, no account number, nothing and then charge me extra. I went to the branch to get my documents and all they would give me is a sticky note with my account number. A STICKY NOTE?!?!?! Incredibly unprofessional way to welcome a new member. I will pay off this loan and never use them for anything again!!

I refinanced a vehicle about 6 weeks ago and my 2nd payment is now due. I still cannot make an online payment on their own website by transfering from my GTCU savings account to my GTCU loan. I reported this in mid-August and it still hasnt been fixed. This is absolute basic functionality for Internet banking which Ive used with other banks and CUs for more than 10 years. It should have been fixed immediately when initially reported.

Service is deteriorating. New online banking software doesnt work. Confirmation messages are not being sent, so access to accounts is effectively denied. Software doesnt appear to have been tested in the real world before rollout. Call for assistance do no good. Horrible service. Get ready to be put on hold for 30 minutes when you call in. If you have a credit card with them they only report to the credit agencies once a month. I ran my card up then paid it off the next month but my credit score went down 100 points for 60 days because of their slow reporting.

Online banking never works and its very hard to get a hold of someone when a problem inevitably comes up. It seems like there is always something wrong with this places system and services. They flagged my address as invalid, so I couldnt use my debit card. When I called, they told me that my address was invalid because it couldnt receive mail. Tell me then... The supervisor would not allow my husband to get his PRINTED check from work cleared because he deposited it on June 29 and it cant clear until Friday July 6 because his 30 days of being a new member is up on July 1 (2 DAYS FROM TODAY). If he would have deposited it today then he could possibly get it cleared immediately. This lady WOULD NOT allow his check to clear because he deposited it 2 DAYS before his 30th day being a new member with day 30 being on a SUNDAY. He was unaware of this 30 day policy but she said ITS WRITTEN ALL OVER YOUR SIGNED PAPERS. I explained to her how TODAY IS MONDAY AND YOURE TELLING ME THAT THERES NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO ALLOW THIS CHECK TO CLEAR WHEN TODAY WAS MONDAY, 1 DAY AFTER HIS 30 DAYS AS A NEW MEMBER AND SHE SAYS THAT He should have waited until today to deposit the check and it would have cleared immediately, but since he deposited on Friday June 29th then it wont clear until July 6th. I then asked her So we have to go an entire week with no money, no food, and no gas? and she replied with YES SO SORRY!!! This was the customer service supervisor with Greater Texas Credit Union of Austin support line, unfortunately I was so angry that I didnt get her name or it would DEFINITELY BE IN THIS REVIEW! Anyways my Husband went down to our local Aggieland Credit Union and he said they cleared the check immediately and removed all his fees, that he had already had attempting to pull from his account, without him even having to ask. So Aggieland Credit Union is GREAT!! But the support call center located in Austin is BEYOND TERRIBLE!!!

What an awesome place! I had to open an account with a $5 deposit years ago to find out if I wanted to get a loan from these people. That $5 deposit grew to $11.27 over the years till I finally decided to close the account by their request. Then I find out they charged me a $5 inactive account fee from the proceeds. How generous! Customer service, online banking, and their app are all terrible. I ve put up with a lot over the years, but I m done. I recently lost nearly $100 in fees due to this bank s errors. Now I m trying to close my accounts, and I can t even get them to return the last $5 in each account. It s ridiculous.

If you like people actually answering when you call customer service, you do not want to bank here. If you like GOOD customer service, you do not want to bank here. I spent all morning calling them. They have a weird phone system, that re-routes to the operator after a certain time instead of placing you on a queue. This is frustrating because it means you re being sent to the back of the line each time instead of just waiting your turn. When you finally get a hold of someone, they more than likely will be the wrong person and will send you back to the queue. I asked to speak to the supervisor due to the agent interrupting me every 5 minutes and you guess it, I ended up talking to the receptionist desk again. I had to take off from work and go to the actual office. They re not customer friendly. Save yourself the headache and go to RBFCU. I ve never had to wait longer than 2 minutes with them and they ve been great at explaining everything and making sure I understood correctly.

While the service I receive when I go in person is stellar - the staff is very courteous and efficient, this review deals more so with the customer service over the phone. They close to early at 4 oclock except for Fridays when they close at 6 oclock so most of the time, I have to call them for questions and concerns. However, their service over the phone now is lacking. I have held an account here for over ten years and this past year, I have noticed a sharp deterioration in the quality of their service when trying to call them over the phone. This holds true across many departments. Anytime I call, I can expect upwards of a 10 minute wait and many times it is without an answer. Most of the time it gets rerouted back to the receptionist until I reach his or her voicemail. Its very frustrating as a customer to feel so helpless when I need some sort of assistance. I can only speculate as to why this decline has happened, perhaps they are short staffed, but I hope it gets alleviated soon because I am ready to go elsewhere.

Worst place ever to have a loan. First they lost my mazda 6 title. Later i was selling mi other car and i went with the buyer to the bank to pay off the loan and guess what, they lost it again and it was another car. They give a certified copy when i give then the original title. Long history short i lost the sale, like 1 month later i paid my entire loan and called to get my title sent to my place after 13 days call back and they still had it in there. I just went there took my title and rifinance my other car loan with RBFCU with s better deal save money and no BS. Stay away from this bank. Worst customer service ever in my life.

FRAUD! So this bank is NOTHING but problems. Run away as fast as you can. Despite financing numerous cars, if you dont pay attention to the statements they will FRAUDULENTLY add charges. I understand one time could be a mistake, but it seems like every car I finance, problem arrises with them fraudulently adding insurance. They will argue, harass and especially someone by the name of Jonathan Wilder who is in charge of this. By his level of harassment, I would not be shocked if whatever insurance they are adding fraudulently he is probably getting kick-backs for. I have never met a bank who has people who work there that argue with customers and harass them. Never been late on payments...this guy is absurd. I am shocked they allow someone to work there of such low class. So if you want a bank who will fraudulently add charges, harass you, argue with you from the cesspool of society...this is the bank for you as long as Jonathan Wilder works there. If you want to have to go as far as having to write public complaints, make complaints against the Attorney Generals office and with the Credit Union Board and have to go to Court...this is the bank for you!

As a bank they are very friendly in person. I use the account in Callaghan, Rd, SA, so thumbs up for them. Recently enquire about a mortgage and was left puzzled as to the quality of customer service. I have a feeling it was because Im an international client and they couldnt be bothered dealing with me. Some of their methods of looking into your employment history are antiquated to say the least. The figures (length of mortgage) they came back with were not the ones I asked for. Not going to waste my time anymore.
