I am writing this review personally to thank Richard Guerrero. We were first time home buyers, so we didn’t have much knowledge on how the whole process of purchasing a home. Richard made the whole process simple and straightforward. He broke down exactly what we would be paying and was very transparent with us. He made the numbers make sense based on what we could afford. During the closing process he guided us step by step on what documents we needed and we followed his instructions exactly. We closed on our very first home with Richard and my Realtor Nick and are so grateful for them for making our first home a reality. This experience has been life changing. Rebecca was incredibly personable and a joy to work with. I think she was more excited than we were when we closed on the house. It took 2 years to get everything in order and she was incredibly patient and understanding of all of our shifts and changes. As a business owner we had a few hurdles to jump through and she explained everything so well, taking time and empathy to make sure we understood how everything worked. We moved into a Divvy home three years ago. Been trying to buy this home for six months. The first lender fell through, then was turned to Jon Kloc at Summit funding. He and his team had a challenge when it came to us and Divvy Homes. They did not give up and fought hard on our behalf. It took over three months, but we are now homeowners thanks to them. Greg Payne is the best loan officer you will find in Chattanooga or anywhere else, really. From the second my wife and I spoke with Greg, you could tell he really cared about his clients. Greg went above and beyond to ensure that we knew what every step of the home buying process entailed. When we had a question, Greg was there to answer quickly each and every time. This was our first home buying experience and to say that we had no idea what we were doing, would be a massive understatement. At one point, we were panicking about a massive payment that was unforeseen and not within our budget. Before we even had a chance to panic, Greg was already texting us and making sure we knew not to worry and that the numbers would drop to what we were expecting they did and were even better than we expected! At no point did we feel like a number or paycheck for Greg and his team. At no point did we feel like we were belittled for our home buying inexperience or our plethora of questions. Greg was always there to explain and go to bat for us. It cannot be overstated how amazing Greg was. He has become a friend to my wife and I and we will continue to use Summit Funding for each and every future loan.

Everyone was very kind to us and worked very hard to help us close early, which was critical for us because we had to move out of our old house on a deadline. In addition, Chris accidentally found us our dream home while showing us an example of a house we could afford in the area we were looking in. I purchased a property in Chattanooga, early 2021, and had a pretty lackluster experience with my lending agent at the time. Chris was the polar opposite. Apart from being a genuinely good person, he was a bit of a numbers nerd (not much unlike myself) and offered up different and unique ways to structure the loan to help in contract negotiations and make sure I was getting the best bang for my buck. I worked on my mortgage loan with Juan Florez who was very personable and extremely knowledgeable on the math behind the loan. As a first time home buyer I really didnt know much about the questions I need to ask or the things I should care about. Juan helped me model a few different scenarios for the structure of my loan and helped me really understand the cost/benefit to each of them so I can make the best informed decision for my personal financial situation. Him and his whole team were also great with communication, literally 24/7 on anything I needed, which is very important in a process where time is of essence. From the start Chris Kloc was amazing! I was a first time home buyer and Chris took the time at our first consultation to give me a PowerPoint with all the information I needed to start my home search confidently. Greg Payne was awesome to work with during the loan process. He communicated with me throughout the entire process to answer any questions I had regarding the loan documents or process in general. He even took my call while he was at an Atlanta Braves game. I knew then he was a great Loan Officer. . It was a pleasure working with him and cannot wait to work with him again to fund my next home.

We refinanced with Chris Kloc at Summit. It was easy, quick and pain free. Chris is super personable and fantastic to work with. You may even leave with a few laughs under your belt. Need a loan or to refinance?! Chris is definitely your man!

This morning I had a very disappointing interaction with one of your employees. I use a wheelchair and have a van that has a ramp on the right side. I need 5-6 feet of clearance in order to let the ramp down and be able to get my chair in and out. I didnt see any available handicapped parking, so I parked diagonally, purposefully taking up two spots. The woman walked past, and in a very harsh tone told me to fix my parking. I explained my reason for it, and she kept walking and said something along the lines of you dont need 2 parking places just because youre in a wheelchair. I would encourage you to educate her (especially while representing your company with her clothes) to be more kind and understanding. If someone had parked next to me I would not have been able to leave until they moved their vehicle.

After being referred to this company by a long time friend I applied for funding gave all my info uploaded all requested documents all for the young lady to stop replying to my text, emails and phone calls basically she ghosted me. So for future reference for anyone out there if you don t qualify she won t even bother to reply and tell you that. But 3 months later I qualify with a different lender with no issues. #buyerbeaware

Amazing service!! I hate the entire process of buying a house, but this time was different. Greg Payne made it a really fun experience, stayed in close contact to make sure that I knew exactly where we stood every step of the way, and worked very quickly to get us into our dream home. Never do business with them or this particular loan officer. He doesnt care about his clients and has no personal accountability. Let everyone show up for a scheduled closing all the while knowing it wasnt going to happen because he dropped the ball and didnt communicate with anyone. Cost people time and money and rescheduling of utility transfers and insurance placement on said property on both buyer and seller side and could care less of what he caused. He left the title company while his client was in tears because of his negligence and not doing what hes paid to do. Blamed every one from the real estate agent, title company and the underwriter for him not doing his job. To let something and everyone get to the closing table before communicating it wasnt ready is totally unacceptable.

I purchased the home of my dreams through Summit Funding, with the assistance of Clarence Hawthorn. Mr. Hawthorne made everything seem so effortless and with constant communication throughout the entire process. It s one thing to be pleased with someone at the time of the process, but six months later I am even more pleased with his professionalism now, then I was with him then. I tip my hat to you!

Nathan Byram, at Summit Funding, was my Loan Officer. His knowledge and expertise are exceptional! Working with him allowed me to have all of the information I needed to make a decision as important as a home purchase. The entire process was straightforward and uncomplicated, and I truly appreciated the timely communications that ensured I remained informed. I cant express how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to work with such an honest and interested lender. Closing was lightening fast and all aspects of the process exceeded my expectations. As a Realtor, it is always nice to have the purchasers lender call with updates. This lets both me and the sellers know that work is actually being done to get to close. Jeff Gibbs kept me up to date with everything and the title company had everything needed to close a week prior to the actual closing, which is pretty rare these days. Two thumbs up.

This is my first home and there was a lot about the home buying process that I didnt know or understand. Clarence guided me through this process patiently and professionally. Every time I had a question he responded promptly and respectfully, no matter how uninformed the question was.

Clarence Hawthorne is a coward and is very unprofessional. We started our home buying process in December of 2019. He assured us that he could definitely work with us and told us exactly what we needed to do to make sure that we got approved for the loan. He even gave us an Approval Letter to give to the Realtor. We did every single thing he requested, even had our own house under contract in 3 days! Each time we got something done, he came up with something else. We had a Closing date on our new house and everything. A week before closing we kept verifying if everything was still a go, then he hits us with something else, something that he KNEW weeks before! He ran out credits over 3 times dropping our scores significantly, then had the nerve to tell us that when we close on our home that we needed to find someplace to stay because he didnt think that we were going to be able to Close on day the home we were purchasing. When we called he kept saying that we still have a chance of closing! Then our Realtor called and told us that he heard from Clarence and we are not closing. The Realtor immediately gave us the name of another lender whom we contacted. They got on it stat. When he found out that we had gone to another lender, it took him days to relay to the Realtor that he could not pay for appraisal that we had to be the ones to do it, then it took him another 2 and 1/2 weeks to get it transferred over to new lender delaying our Closing by a day! In another instance he sent paperwork with the wrong social security number! He acted like a revengeful child and I am very disappointed and embarrassed by his childish antics to delay us purchasing our home. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy!!

Worked with misty Smith here and she was great to work with and very quick with the work she was doing with us at the time but when I started working with other companies to get the best deal she seems to loose interest and stopped communication.
