So I see a lot of people commenting about how they are here if you are even a couple days late on your payment but you guys NEED to communicate with them. I ve been financing my car through them for about 2 years now and I was very lucky that they even gave me a chance and financed me since I had pretty bad credit and was denied by many finance companies due to my past. I was never late or missed a payment but recently lost my long term job and was stressing about how I was going to make this months payment. I called and spoke to a guy (unfortunately I can not remember his name) and told him I would be starting my job in a little over a week but won t get paid in time to make augusts payment and asked if there was any way I could make 2 payments in September without it affecting my credit or hurting my account. He pulled up my account and told me it was in a perfect standing and if I brought my offer letter in before my payment date they would defer augusts payment and all I would have to worry about was September s! I brought in my offer letter that day and augusts payment was removed and I m no longer stressed! It says on their website to communicate with them if you are struggling to make a payment so I highly encourage you guys to do that because I m sure they would rather keep us as a customer than have to have our cars repoed. I would gladly finance my next vehicle through them as it s been a great experience the past couple of years!

If I could give negative stars, I would. The collection manager Dennis is a straight PRICK!!!! He speaks to people like theyre lower than dirt and acts like he is better than everybody because he is a manager of some predatory lending company. The facts are, he will threaten to repo your car if youre a couple of days late and then will yell obscene things at you if you try to explain your situation. This is by far the WORST bank Ive ever dealt with and Dennis is the worst person Ive ever dealt with. Do yourselves a favor and fire him!!!! MY next report will be to the attorney General AND better business bureau!

Dennis is very very rude refused to do his job of what Gap insurance needed from them ! Said it was my job to get them the stuff they needed! When gap needed stuff from them with information they have not me..said he was not doing it. But wants to remind me my account is 111 days past due..but he not doing his job to wrap everyrhing up but yet wants to keep charging me for a car thats totaled..sounds like you just trying to screw me over!

i am not a client, yet had a very unpleasant experience with this company - I had an appointment at the dentist office next door and, unbeknownst to me I parked in the area that was reserved to CFI. The lot was almost completely empty, (evidently they don t have many visitors throughout the day). There were signs, I didn t see them. They had my vehicle towed. I found myself stranded at the dentist s office. Managed to contact the towing company who told me I needed to pay cash and gave me their address (well, that what I thought) Had to walk to the nearest ATM, then called Lyft and ended up in a sketchy neighborhood, in the very back of a parking lot, walking through gravel. I was so scared, in broad daylight, felt like I was on the set of a horror movie and I have been all over the world! I kept looking back at the Lyft car, hoping it wouldn t leave right away, in case I needed to turn around and run! I even texted my husband my location in case something happened to me. There was no proper business there, just a tow truck and my car next to it. The guy was okay, I surrended the cash and drove off. He later texted me a receipt. Back at the dentist s office, where I had left my kids, I decided to go to the next door neighbor. They were all smiles, so sorry for me, assuring me this had nothing to do with them and that they hadn t placed a call at all except that the towing company had mentioned them to me and their address is listed on the receipt I asked for! The dentist office also confirmed that this happens all the time - in spite of the multiple signs... (did I pay the price for my lack of attention!) In conclusion, I wouldn t do business with a company that looks at me in the eye and lies with a soft voice, and big smile on their face to me, it s wicked!

Columbus Finance has been a great company to use for my auto loan. Nick is the definition of a great account manager. I always stayed in communication with them, even when I got hurt and had surgery. c I have finance through Cols Finance for the past 3 years. They are an excellent company all the way around. Smooth transition and paperwork from financing car to paying off car. My credit score went up a lot higher even with starting at fair credit. I had the privilege working with Tonya. She always went beyond to answer my thousand and one questions, very knowledgeable, excellent customer service, and kept accurate/up to date data in their system. I have worked with Nick on a couple of occasions and today once again he proved to be a valuable member of the customer service team. I was having trouble making my payment yesterday on a Sunday which is my due date. I called him today Monday and he explained that there was a problem with the system and that even though I was a day or two late technically I would not be penalized.

I want to share the amazing experience I have had with Columbus Finance. Being that I am a younger adult and didn t have much luck getting approved with a lender Columbus Finance took a chance on me and helped finance my vehicle. The payment structure was amazing online. Simple straight to the point and easy to use! Just how I like it, haha! ** Extremely Unprofessional, Horrible Customer Service** Sometimes I Wonder If They All Collectively Decide To Take The Phones Off The Hook. I Called Every Extension Possible For 3 Days STRAIGHT( At One Point The Phones Weren t Even Ringing), Left About 10 Voicemails And Almost Had To Drive All The Way To The Main Location.... All So I Could Notify Them My Car Was In An Accident. Nobody Ever Returned My Call Either. Do Not use this company!! No stars is the best I could ever give. Rude. Shady. Insulting to customers. Do not go here expecting a real finance company. Their statements of working with customers is a sham. Phones are constantly out and you cannot get through. It is as though they hire the meanest people with a grudge against the world to handle the calls and be disrespectful. They are going to say I do not have an account here-which is true. But I sat and listened to the phone calls of someone who does and cannot believe people treat customers the way they did.

I have had my car loan since 4/16/2018 and have had nothing but a great experience- probably because I PAY MY BILLS! I have been late a few times and no one has been rude or unprofessional! They tell you what happens, how to resolve any problems and support you if you re trying! As long as you pay your loan- I don t understand why there would be any issues! Made a payment on December 24th in the drop box with a note explaining our sitution and intent to pay any remaining balances on January 22nd. Didnt hear anything back so we thought we were in good standing. On January 15th we recieve a call informing us our car is on the repo list. We were surprised because we have already communicated with them about our plan to pay. The lady was very professional as we explained the whole situation, and she apologized for their lack on communication. She explain only Dennis has the power to remove a car from the repo list, but if we pay everything will be fine. Dennis was at lunch so I left him a voicemail. We played phone tag since hes never at his phone. Finally he left a message saying If we dont call back before 4 hes going to call the sheriff because we arent communicating with him. (Guessing he doesnt know how to read the note or listen to the 3 voicemails we left him) We again tried to call him back and AGAIN got his voicemail. Not understanding why he felt the need to escalate so quickly since weve been trying to contact him? And They have known for a month when we planned on paying? We were able to come up with the money and delivered it in person. The lady was professional but Dennis seemed disappointed that we paid in full (he was hoping to give us a big speech) once he realized we were paying in full, he couldnt. He then questioned me on where I lived like he was a police officer. I told him the adress on my ID and the one they have on file is my current one. He didnt believe me and gave a sligh remark about taking the car next time. I chuckled and said ok. The whole situation was ridiculous as he doesnt know how to read or communicate proper. Theyve known for a month about our plan to pay but it still went down this road. I feel bad for his employees who must put up with his school yard fairy attitude.

They helped me get a car when I couldn t get approved elsewhere. I mean it is high interest but it ain t their fault I didn t pay my bills on time before. So it makes sense. They work with a lot of dealers - so you pick the car you want where you want. People get upset because they think they can go like months without making a payment - there you can t. It s like Aaron s you don t pay for your television they come and get it. It has nothing to do with you they just pick it up - just pay your bill on time - you have an issue call them this black lady she was so nice & helpful. Anyone who is saying they are not helpful you prob didn t pay your car payment for months, or you blame them Bc you don t what to pay your car payment

IM NOT SURE WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE THE COMPANY HAS PAID TO WRITE GOOD REVIEWS BUT THEY ARE LIES. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. First of all they have no customer service experience at all and for some reason my last few payments that I have paid in office has not lowered my balance due. They have police working in there for a reason and its because they talk to people crazy. Im showing my last payment is in November but they keep telling me that I still owe $2700. I will be contacting the BBB on Monday to file a complaint against this company. And before the company responds saying they are not sure if I ama customer, I AM. 200000××××-1

Just a horrible company. If your looking at using this company as a lender your probably desperate like we were at the time we used them but definitely beware of their shady business strategies. Response to owner response: Just becouse you cant verify I was a customer doesnt matter to me or anyone else. Your bad record keeping is probably the reason for half of the bad reviews. You put a $50 fee on my credit after our insurance company paid off the loan. You Jack masters made me get gap insurance to pay anything insurance wouldnt pay but you had to put $50 in fees after you jacked me around taking forever to get the loan closed creating the $50 in fees. Every time I came to your office to make a payment your reps were very rude just like other talked about in their reviews. Your lame attempts to respond discrediting peoples reviews makes your company look worse.

She was saying head up we need you to call us if your going to be late. (Okay I can do that but someone needs to answer the phone so I can tell someone that I am going to be late but no one answers the phone) I told her okay but I just want to make my payment. she also mentioned that her coworker tried to contacted me numerous times. I am an extremely happy customer with Columbus Finance. I had the opportunity to refinance but decided to stay where I was because I get ands have gotten such great customer service!!! I have been with them three years and have not had a complaint about them yet!! I had a sudden death in the family, my younger sibling, and they, Dennis, was more than understanding when it came to my payment (I had to go out of state for the funeral) being late. I did another review a while back, I dont often think about reviews but Im now starting to read reviews myself for lots of other things. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Also, my agent here was actually the one who recommended Kemba, to me for refinancing(I wouldnt recommend them, at least not the agent who was working with me), after I inquired about it. She was also very patient wi th h all of my questions. If I get another car loan I would want the guys, but honestly, I dont want another loan with anyone simply because I hate car payments-even if it were $50.00, I would much rather own the car and buy shoes every month-lol. All in all, if you are looking for an auto loan company Columbus Finance is fantastic!!! It will be bitter sweet when my car loan is up

I have read the reviews and find all of the negative ones to be so far from my experience. It was super easy for me to be approved. I had been working on my credit and they saw that. I had gone through a divorce and things were bad for me for a few years. I honor my obligations and did have a few issues that made a few payments late. I called and discussed with them and had a plan to take care of it. I then honored that agreement. I feel they do understand that sometimes things happen. Communication is key. It also makes a difference that every other payment is made on time and without issue. I assure you that you wont hear anything from them if you just make your payments. Its really that simple. I dont understand why people leave bad reviews because they dont have their own personal lives together.

Company was ok at first I was always on time I was pregnant and lost my job 7months pregnant then needed one deferred payment because I didn t have any income Dennis made it very difficult for me I got hired at a better job 8months pregnant then made payments on time again because Dennis will cut me no time knowing I just had a csection then after he called being rude saying you should have prepared if you knew you was going to have a baby rude then after I made a payment one day and he was like how do you have a job if you said you were fired and how did you get hired if you was having a baby I was like well a job hired me at 8mknths he made it seem as if I was lying which why would I lie about a pregnancy then months after I still been on time even with a three month unpaid maternity leave I asked a question about deferred payment which I had my car for two years and only had one because some thing s cane up he denied it and said it would be best to find another company and ever since then I ve decided this is the worst company I always pay my 328 car payment and only had one deferred payment in 2years I m a good customer but reps like Dennis make the company terrible who tell their customer they should get another finance company

The only reason I gave them this star is because they approved me when I had no credit fresh out of college with loans. Outside of that, this is the worst customer service I ve ever seen. If you are a week behind they are consistently calling with nasty attitudes and remarks asking why they haven t heard from you yet. Telling you that your car is going to be repo d unless you can come in NOW with the money. Their hours are terrible and not realistic at all for a company that requires you to come in for EVERY LITTLE THING because their website is useless. So one day they called me because I was 3 days after my grace period, it just slipped my mind so I drove back to Ohio and told them I will be in at 4:45 pm (they don t close until 5) so I pull up to the building at 4:50 with cash and the old blond women who sits at the front desk (who is the worst human I ve ever came in contact with. She is nasty, rude, and disheveled. She treats any customer that walks through that door like a lower class citizen) she seen me coming at 4:50, gets up and rushes to the door, looked me in my eyes and locked the door in my face. So I had to take time from work at come early the next day. When I come in the next day she only says Name looks me up, makes a phone call to Dennis, then refused to talk to me. I asked her can I just give you the money or and I waiting on someone? She looks me in my face and waved me off. Dennis comes down stars and in the lobby asked me why I was late and attempts to scold me on the importance of paying BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Financing through them was biggest mistake I could have ever made, they need a completely new staff because the people in the office are unprofessional, unethical, rude and unrealistic at the least and they way they speak to people is completely uncalled for. I would NEVER recommend anyone that means anything to me to finance anything as small as a TV through this terrible company.

God help u if ur last name is at the very end of the alphabet... cause then you ll get DENNIS THE MENACE as ur rep. Being 5 days late or two weeks late every now and then isn t a reason to repo a persons car! I called the office to speak Dennis s Superviser. But it s hard to get in contact with anyone unless it s about paying them money when u are late! So he calls all my references and tells them that he s having my car taken / re-po d etc. this weekend if I don t come pay today. Today is a Friday. So I can t go till Saturday..and put it in the drop box by this date I ll be 16 days late or 6 days past the grace period. Even if CFI has the right to do this? WHY WOULD U WANNA DO UR LOYAL CUSTOMERS LIKE THAT?? Smh

Columbus Finance is AMAZING....!!!!! I am sooooo happy that this awesome business has been here for me through thick & thin.....!!!!! Do not I repeat do not finance with columbus finance they make up the rules to benefit them... they have a 4pm payment cutoff which is ridiculous since most people are still at work and banks are open that then allows a late charge so if you take advantage of your grace period they get paid twice... thats even with trackable services like Web payments... then once they use this cave man system and blame it on bank processing they do nothing for you, so although you get charged a daily interest you dont get a full day to pay??? Thats not common! Then to make matters worse if you happen to have the fees Im referring to they pull it out of you payment amount so it looks as if you didnt pay so the normal payment hierarchy is not in play (interest & princaple) are thrown to the side so they can collect on fees and then put you at risk of credit reporting even though your pymt was made. With all these negatives the customer service is horrible given my concerns the most I received was a threat for repo... there is never anyone available to answer a phone and you waste that limited day playing phone tag, which is also not helpful since the Web doesnt allow partial payments or any other services... and this comes from a financial person whom has recently worked for credit services and currently does auto financing so I fully understand the terms of the business

First I d like to say I am giving Columbus Finance TEN STARS!!! I have been with them for almost one year and John, his manager, Martin, and the staff have always been not just pleasant but extremely helpful as well. John is always helpful, compassionate, kind and professional!!! As we all know, life happens in one way or another, to all of us (if it hasn t happened to you yet, keep living) and when it does John and Martin have always been more than kind and always more than happy to help keep me from going under. I love that about this company and the people!! One thing I really, really appreciate and totally respect is Johns tone when I am faced with a daunting and troublesome situation and am forced to ask for help; lets be completely honest, no one every really wants to ask. He talks to you and not at you, the same with his manager (which I regret I had to request his assistance as well-not for a complaint or anything bad). There was no finger wagging just how can we help and what can we do to be of assistance. All I can say, and I can only speak from my experience-side not, Im very persnickety- is they have been a blessing and joy in this wonderful car buying journey (if you havent guessed, there is sarcasm in the wonderful car buying journey portion-not the blessed and joy part, thats genuine)!! I would and do always recommend Columbus Finance. If I ever have to finance another car I would live to work with these guys again!! Although, for real, the next time I would like to purchase the car out right -John and the company are awesome, but I loathe car payments every month- rent and utility bills are enough. Geesh!

Worst experience ever. I had full coverage insurance on the car I had, was in a wreck that was completely NOT my fault and I still have to pay 15% of the loan on the vehicle. Columbus Finances representatives (Dennis) are really rude and unprofessional. I would advise you go elsewhere immediately. Literally run away from this bs finance company.

THEY ARE RUDE HARD TO GET ON THE PHONE, RUDEST PEOPLE OF ANY BUSINESS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!! Im only asking them to fax a lien release for my title and MARTIN (btw the rudest person I have ever talked to) said he will get around to calling me back. He doesnt even need to talk to me!!! He said its my fault I lost my title. But I didnt even get a letter with the title a YEAR ago telling me I had to take it to the title department to have it released!!! But its my fault!!!

Im not sure what has happened with everyone else but ive been dealing with them for about a year now and ive never had any problems. People are talking of repossessions and such, I have never experienced this. If im late, they dont harass me at all, the told me maam we dont want your car , just make the payment when you can. Maybe its the fact that I pay on time or over the amount. but they are flexible and friendly at all times. This is my first time lending from them as well and they have treated me with nothing short of welcoming kindness.

The First time I had dealt with them , I was very pleased with the fact that they had loaned me around $1800 For a truck. My credit had been heavily damaged by the loss of my wife and I did not think I could get a loan. Payed all my payments on time and wanted to do another loan with them and was approved. I had asked the question.... since I had proven myself to them if they could do anything about the rate to possibly lower it a little on this new loan which was approximately $2200.00. Showed up on a Monday morning when they opened to see if they could sign me up without an appointment because I have a hard time getting off work when they were open. Absolutely not she said, This is like signing for a Mortage and takes 45 Minutes by appointment only NO Exceptions ! So. While I sat there for 45 Minutes trying to get them to help me No one did. The receptionist took a couple calls. But The four Girls, 3 in front and one in the back office and a man in the back office did not take one call while I was there and appeared to have not lifted a finger to help anyone. Made an appointment with Kim for Thursday morning, And even with an appointment and confirming ahead of time that she had everything that she needed from me Once I got there I had been told that she still needed two more things from me which I took care of within a few minutes, Late for work I sat there helpless. To make a long story short, I was taken into Kims back office to sign and she automatically tacked on $400.00 for Gap as if It was part of the deal with no option . And the new loan was once again 21 %. In the meantime without knowing my girlfriend just bought the car for me. That day I called and told Kim that I was sorry and appreciated all her help but that I did not need the loan. I also pursued trying for 27 days to try to get her to tell me what my pay off was which she kept making excuses as to not knowing payoff. They are the company that I got the loan through. Several days pass and now I get a call from the collections department that my first payment was late ?What happens to people trying to help people ? I felt like they had no heart. Later that day I get a call from Martin who says I signed a contract and I owe them the money. Then come to find out that they cut a check to my dealer which never went down there to pick up the check because the car was already paid for and they had no reason to.Martin promised me that he would call me back and I have left two messages and still no phone call. I know that Byer s owns Columbus Finance and I am Grateful about the first time they helped me but I dont think that they treated me well at all. I have had at least ten cars from Byers when times were better for me, but I doubt if I ever buy anything from them after this bad experience. I wanted some help and I didnt get it !

So I dont know if I should begin with the fact that she told me I need to come in and sign because Ohio is brick and mortar state or with the location if this brick and mortar place. Maybe I should attach their rude emails constantly telling me to take off work to sign closing documents as if Im signing for a mortgage not an auto loan. We chose this dump because they were about $100 cheaper than the first approval we received. That saying you get what you pay for applies to them. I tried to be understanding as their business hours are my business hours. But dont tell me that I need to take off work to service you. You want to get paid, dont you? So why tell me to take off work to sign documents that couldve been signed at the dealership like normal finance companies? Oh because Ohio is a brick and mortar state....thats for mortgages not car loans. Im not as stupid as you think I am.

they made me jump threw all these hoops i put 1000 down paid my insurence up front in advance took DAYS off work to do things for them waste my time and money for them to pull the deal under my nose and not even give me the respect to call me or anything all because they did not like the place i was living because it happened to be connect to the place i worked do not do business with them they will screw you over and will not care and i was not refunded in any way for my time or money
