We got a home equity loan so that we could pay off some debts and repair some long-standing issues with our home. We are NOT happy with the lender (UWM), but Raleigh Mortage Group has been excellent every step of the way. They are very quick to answer questions, understanding of the anxiety inherent in such dealings, and friendly above all else. I dont expect to ever need another home equity loan, but would recommend them to anyone else who might.

Brian Grubbs came through for me multiple times with a loan approval letter on a Sunday (when a seller would impose a deadline on offers). On one occasion, he was able to make time to send me an approval letter on a Sunday in spite of the fact that he had a funeral to attend (his friends mother). I bid on 9 houses over 6 months, 6 of which had tight deadlines. The house would go on the market on Thursday. Id look at it on Saturday, and the deadline for offers would be Sunday night. It was a hectic time in an overheated housing market. I appreciate Brians efforts very much.

EDIT: added 1 star as the owner reached out to me after my review. Im not going with them but hopefully they would be more attentive to future clients. I reached out to speak about programs available for FTB and I was surprised by the attitude. Very little interest in explaining what options they have, what can be done for me as a first time buyer, no interest in following up, etc. The loan officer sounded if I actually was bothering him with smth annoying. Man, its your job to explain everything to prospective customers. I definitely dont recommend them based on my brief experience.

Mike was super willing to hop on the phone with me and talk through different scenarios, explain things I needed clarification on, quote a bunch of different options, etc., and I got a great rate I was happy with. Be mindful, once they have everything they need, it goes super fast. My first loan experience was not like this (much slower, I was usually waiting on them)...I did not feel that way this time. I have worked with a lot of lenders and this was one of the worst experiences I have had. The communication was lacking, the processor I worked with had a very bad attitude (which could have been avoided if the phone was picked up and documents that were needed were explained), and the actual Loan Officer was pretty much absent the entire transaction. The processor would avoid phone calls and not return voicemails. There was a lot of unnecessary stress for all parties involved that could have been avoided with simple COMMUNICATION.

I contacted Raleigh Mortgage as a last ditch effort and Jeremy took my call. Although I met all the criteria for a loan, obtaining one was more difficult because I am self-employed. Jeremy went ABOVE & BEYOND and it almost seemed like he was trying to get the loan for himself rather than for a client and the kind of drive and passion is hard to find. He went back and forth with the underwriters to make sure we got the loan approved and he would even touch base with me after hours as I always had many questions/comments; and he was beyond patient. If it werent for Jeremy, we would not have been able to purchase our home, and for that I am forever grateful. If youre looking for a mortgage company, Raleigh was always extremely professional, but make sure you request that Jeremy assists you throughout the process! I guarantee youll be happy you did! Best mortgage company Ive ever worked with. ONE single point of contact the entire time, responses within minutes (our previous broker had *9* people involved, none of which talked to each other or I could figure out what they did, or where we were in the process). True experts in what they do. Very good prices -- perhaps could save a fraction on fees here and there, but not worth it -- they do what they promise with no BS. BTW, I worked with Jeremy H. -- would highly recommend asking for him.

Raleigh Mortgage Group helped me secure the best mortgage rate available when I closed on my new home a few years ago. And, they recently helped me refinance and take advantage of the current low interest rates saving me about 20% a month! Although the rates are low, this is a hard time to refinance with lenders having to be extra cautious. You need someone to help you get the information needed quickly and help you to closing table. Was a little scared to refinance since we experienced a snafu with a different company during our original purchase that almost cost us the house, but Im glad we chose RMG for our refi. When I first decided I wanted to buy a home, I shopped around and worked with several different lenders, and as a first-time home buyer, I had no clue what I was doing or what to expect. Not only were Mikes rates by far the best, he was also super patient and understanding when I would contact him several times a day with random questions and for updated quotes. Right now, homes are listed one day and under contract the next, so if youre looking to buy, you need someone like Mike on your side. He was able to get me clear to close in half the time State Employees Credit Union could, and he even came to my closing the day after having major surgery. Mike and his team are sedulous and responsive; they have excellent customer service, and they never make you feel like youre a bother.
