My debit card number was fraudulently used. I was notified by a text message and called customer service. The representative told me my card had been blocked and I needed to go to a branch to get a new card. I went to the Rock Hill branch but their machine was broken. They apologized and directed me to the Ballantyne branch which was the closest to there. By the time I arrived, it was 4:55 but the teller was as pleasant as could be and told me not to worry about it being almost closing time. She assisted me in getting my new debit card!! I have visited different locations of Skyla credit union and I must say that the South Blvd location is a whole vibe. The customer service is phenomenal. They re polite, friendly, professional employees who made me feel welcome. I feel happy walking in there because I know it s going to be a pleasant experience. Initially, I was apprehensive with the buy-out by Skyla of the Credit Union I had used for several years. However, I must say that I am impressed with the services provided thus far by the staff of Skyla. Skylas team members are very thorough, patient, respectful, and they value their customers time. Youre never left holding on the telephone without someone constantly apologetically informing you that they are still working on your issue. The team members will offer a call back with their findings if the issue is not immediately resolved. I like that. If anyone is considering joining Skyla, I say go ahead. You will not be disappointed.

The Skyla CU mobile app needs much improvement. Check holds have no available image or identifying information to reconcile, Zelle transfer is hidden and not with other transfer functions, and bank account ACH information isnt all in one place having to go hunting for everything useful makes the app clunky and ultimately not very useful. Calling customer service can be frustrating. Call hold times can be in excess of 30 minutes to find out whats on hold in your account. Improvements have been made to add staffing at branch locations. Everyone is very happy to help. Hopefully the mobile app can be improved so we can spend less of our personal time calling customer support.

My first membership with CMCU began in the 1980s. After relocating to complete my college education and US Navy enlistment, I returned in 1995 and resumed my membership. I seamlessly transitioned from CMCU to Skyla and was very happy with my experience as a member. My concern is that Skyla has changed its mobile deposit service and failed to notify the members that deposits are now partially placed on hold from 3 to 5 days and if a purchase exceeds the available balance, even though the total balance is acknowledged, the purchase will be denied or assessed an overdraft fee. I was not offered an explanation for this change, nor did I receive an a corporate apology for the undisclosed change, or failure to notify members. I now feel less valued as a member and am actively seeking a financial institution that will demonstrate that I am a valued member through their banking practices.

Skyla Credit Union has been my bank of choice since 1983. The name has changed. However, the service has not. Everyone working there has a great attitude and are very professional in their jobs. I have had loans through this Credit Union and have had competitive rates. Whenever I have a question or concern, they are quick to answer, all of those. The first couple of years with them was great when it was Charlotte metro. But these last 2 years was horrible. I had my account where there no overdraft fees was on my account and I still was occurring fees. Asked could fees be removed they gave me a very hard time. Then I get a email 25 mins before they close on Friday and everyone knows that no branches are open on the weekend. The email tells me my debit card privileges have been provoked due card transactions. Then going to tell me I only have a cash account. Soon as Monday I will be up there to close this account. Im going to just stick with my Navy Federal and Truiliant accounts. I wouldnt recommend them to one just terrible the worst banking experience I ever had.

NO! Ive been a member for ten years. Im looking for another option. Since upgrading (!) their mobile system, they LOST functionality. Now its not possible to enter things in the checking account details that youve done but they havent seen. Checks. Venmo. Amazon (debits when item is sent.) CHECKS. (Yes, checks.) Until last year, it was possible to use it as a checking account ledger. According to one person, the old IT vendor stopped supporting the software. Spring for a better vendor. (If you/we can afford a new building...) I have to go back to paper. The second star is because its a credit union so its cheap.

I ve needed some input on a transaction and didn t know which was the safest way to do it. I call Skyla and spoke with real person that was wonderful not to have to talk to a machine for 15 mins before you got to talk to a real person! I recently visited my credit union for the first time since the named changed to Skyla Credit Union. I can attest that my experience was phenomenal. I felt a partnership, an advantage which does not exist for you to feel at a transitional banking visit. I didn t stand in line and I was greeted with a smile. I really appreciate the bank tellers(by phone and in person) respect for their customers. Not to mention, when my direct deposit is due if the date falls on a holiday or on the weekend my funds are deposited early. Also, I have banked with Premier Credit Union/ Skyla Credit Union (new name) for over 20 years now. In addition, I can remember only one mistake was made during this time; as a result, the union accommodated me by applying free interest rates to my account for 3 months. So yes; overall, I really trust Skyla for my banking needs as well.

Tried calling in several times to get this fraudulent attack on my credit cleared up but no one is able to tell me who or what was charged to my account after I closed it and for what reasons no one s attempted to collect etc. I was in college and opened an account with all the restrictions to avoid overdrafts while having top shelf security. Skyla is a great place for personal banking; I dont really know anything about business banking, but Im sure theyd be just as great! They have been so patient and helpful with me. My local credit union SKYLA CU in Charlotte NC is the best. The staff at all branches have always been so informed and willing to help with any issues. Over the years Ive had every external money issue there is( account theft, debit card hacked etc,etc) you name it but SKYLA has worked with me through it all. They have all the products and services as your bigger banks but with a home town credit union feel. Awesome!! Furthermore they have branches in the black community as well, SUPER !!! Not good for deposits like CDs! This Credit Union sometimes has competitive interest rates for Certificates of Deposits (CDs). You will need to become a member to be able to invest money in their CDs. Somewhere buried in their terms and conditions they tell you that they will make a hard inquiry against your credit history. While this make sense if you want to get a loan from Skyla, there is no reason to do this when Skyla borrows money from YOU. You end up with a hard inquiry on your credit history, which stays there for 2 years and affects your credit score negatively. From the outside it looks like you applied for a loan from Skyla but ultimately did not qualify for it.

By far the worst customer service I ve ever experienced. Once Skyla took over this bank from Premier nothing has been the same. You can t get in touch with any one to handle your issues and if you go into to the branch you have to wait hours just to see someone. My family will be closing our accounts and going to a bank that can handle request in a timely manner. There is no reason it should take months to close a loan then Skyla turns around and says that loan has expired you must do another one. Choose your financial institutions wisely and stay away from this one.

I had a great experience dealing with my lending specialist Alyssa Popiela and my loan officer at the Asheville Branch when I lived there; however, since I moved to NV and 2k miles away, the car I financed through Charlotte Metro/Skyla one year ago has had multiple problems over the one year that I ve owned the car and it overheated the entire trip here. My car was in the shop at the dealer in NV for a month and did not get fixed due to the poor extended warranty that I was sold with the car. Not once has the warranty covered any of my repairs and I have spent thousands of dollars fixing and maintaining this vehicle When I brought this to the attention of Alyssa, she escalated it to her supervisor Aaron Crumbly. I had hope and he sounded like he was actually going to help the first time I spoke with him on the phone, but I was disappointed with the customer service just like every other American company. He says member services is his top priory, yet has no follow up for weeks and I have to chase him with multiple emails and voicemails to try and get any response. If this is his idea of diligence and member services than I have no hope for other customers. I gave up and probably going to trade in this car and transfer financing to somewhere that actually cares about me and the services they offer. Do not get the Route 66/Main Street extended warranty if they offer it to you when financing your vehicle!

Third time here since the move and each time Im met with rude staff and a incredibly un reasonable wait time. It should not take this long or be this difficult to make a deposit. As a very low income customer, with little money, Skyla would have to commit some immoral sin to make me turn on them. In other words that wont happen. LOVE THEM! Two associates and 1 supervisor I talked to about a change in my account and I simply asked why? All 3 had the same tone and sarcastic attitude because they had no answers. On top of that, speculation was their next move. I m looking right at the email, but they are telling me something totally different information and angry about it. Emotional intelligence training is needed, I m just a customer asking in a calm voice looking for answers about my money like any human being would.

Disgusted! Today I accompanied my son to the Ardrey Kell branch in Ballantyne . Upon walking in you could feel the eyes on you as if you re not welcome (We re black). He met with a woman about a small personal loan. She asked him what the loan was for. After answering her question , she laughed in his face and said no what s it really for . He answered again . She then asked his credit score . He told her his score and her response was we can t help you . She then dismissed him by handing him his id back . What a lack of professionalism, concern and dare I say home training. I understand being short staffed but now it seems they give anyone a job. I only gave 1 star because I couldn t leave 0. Never again we will stay with Founders .

I used to love this bank as Charlotte metro. I ve been on hold for 45 mins and counting. Since the merge phone call time has increased and customer service has decreased. Also not sure what holiday was on November 26th but certainly not one to be closed on. I despise big banks and enjoyed my account here until the last month or so, still on hold. I walked in and sat in a chair to talk to someone about renewing a loan. Within minutes, Hannah steps out of her office and asks me if there is anything I need. In one session from taking my information until the money being in my account was less than an hour. She is incredible and every time I come to this bank, I have nothing but the best service from people with a smile. I was a customer with this credit union for over 3 years in very good standing if i may add how every. When I became sick with covid-19 in December 2020 and could not go to work; Charlotte Metro Credit Union would not work with me to keep my accounts in good standing. I even went up to the central location to discuss the matter; I was still very sick and could hardly breath and I also had documentation from my doctor. While waiting in the lobby one of their employees had his office door open and was discussing another customer account over the phone. You could hear the conversation in the lobby. The employee made a comment about the customer that kinda made me a little mad. He said that this customer was not a priority because the business that this customer was trying to conduct was only worth about forty thousands dollars and that Charlotte Metro Credit Union was more concerned about the large number of stimulus checks that was about to be deposited. It made me think about my privacy with this company.There for Charlotte Metro Credit Union I give you NO STARS!!!!!!! and one BIRD! for management that lie and say that they will help you and give out false information and also for no privacy or concern when comes to customers account information.

Every time my husband or I had to go into the branch everyone was very helpful. We switched from another bank to CMCU and opened up a loan and the process for both have been painless. They re open later than traditional banks too which is awesome for my work schedule. Definitely happy we switched over.

As a customer of Premier Fed CU for the last 12 yrs, I am so disappointed in the big bank, Charlotte Metro. No communication, at all. I have attempted to reach someone since March 21 to get an increase in my line of credit..pulled my credit 5 mins after the application and the best response Ive gotten so far, as I have called them not the other way around, was its in process. Keep it. Ill be changing banks and taking my car loans with me. Stay clear of this one.

It s terrible that I rushed here after work to withdraw money because the website states you all close at 5:30 but at 5:15 I am rudely being told the bank is closed and I can not withdraw money I have banked with this credit Union for years I have never been so disappointed!

Horrible. We were w Premier before they merged w CMCU. 1. Every time I try to login via my computer, some strangers login information is there. I refresh, clear cookies, no help. Each time yet another strangers account is presented. 2. My husband then calls to try to make a payment on the rare day he is off on a week day. Bless him, but he is not particularly saavy to to scams. Yet, even he is so uncomfortable w the type and number of questions they ask for verification. He hangs up. 3. With Premier, I never had a problem calling to make payments on my husbands accounts. I had all the information required and we have bank accounts that are linked. I never had to ask for account details because I knew they wouldnt provide them. I would just verify my identity, his identity, give the acct info, amount I wanted I wanted to pay and payment info. CMCU wont allow it. 5. The have an app. Useless. I cant make payments using it 6. My husband has never made a late payment, ever, to anyone, in his life. We goofed this month due to unforseen circumstances. They charged a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR LATE FEE. I am borrowing money from family to pay them off, closing my account and bidding them farewell

This charlotte metro is the worse company in the world while the dividend interest has dropped, their interest rates are still high, I am trying so hard to withdraw all of my funds out of this company, to me this is a pyramid and a scam, 1Timothy 6 please go and read that Bible verse because that is what this company is all about. I only give them one star because it doesn t take if it is no star selected, so in saying that I give negative five and read it right NEGATIVE FIVE STARS.

As a Premier Federal Credit Union customer for 15 years, I never had any serious complaints. Still, when they made the poor decision to merge with Charlotte Metro Credit Union in August of this year, they acquired their poor practices and lack of customer service. I have yet to get ahold of a single representative despite calling at different times in the day. Furthermore, once the merger occurred, I noticed all my military retirement checks and pension took much longer to be deposited into my checking account. However, the company is quick to process them if it is related to payment for them. From what I have garnered from other reviews, it appears this company will not last long-term with its current business practices. I will be relocating my accounts over to my USAA account as my business and others do not seem to matter to them. I highly recommend not opening an account with this credit union as their standards of service are horrendous.

Premier messed up by merging with this bank. Very unprofessional and rude staff members. Called to make payment and staff member Sherell was unhelpful and had a condescending tone that I could care less for. She placed me on hold several times and when asked for her manager name she replied Paula. I asked for her full name and she placed me hold. She took payment and never provided me with a confirmation number. She eventually transferred me over to her manager who apologized for the behavior of her staff. Her manager tried to be helpful with resolving the matter however after dealing with the first staffer it really left an unpleasant taste in my mouth. This type of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. If you don t care for your job find another one.

Intuit had an issue with Direct Deposits one fateful payday. Most financial institutions will not post debits before deposits when they are on the same day. There were 5 transactions that posted before my Direct Deposit causing 5 overdrafts. Intuit was able to resolve the issue by the end of the day. BUT because this was not the fault of CMCU they refused to refund any of the fees they charged. My history will show my Direct Deposit posts the same time every Friday along with other Auto-payments that go through the same day. And they have never gone through before the Deposit posted. My employer is kind enough to reimburse me, but not my credit union? I already tried speaking to customer care on the phone basically explaining that CMCU keeps the money they charged for something that was neither mine nor my Employers fault. No thanks. I am taking my money elsewhere.

This is a great place to bank. If they opened on Saturdays from like 8am til noon for ppl to do emergency banking, this place would be A1. Some things cant be done at a ATM like getting a new debt card because life happens sometimes at the wrong time. This is my Only issue with this place. Other than I absolutely love banking here.

I have banked with SECU for 8 years..... NEVER have they treated me the way I have been treated from CMCU, Goodwill location. The ladies there are AWESOME!!!! From the branch Manager to the bank representatives they are Amazing! Inspiring, willing to help, knowledgeable and ready to walk with me through the process of regaining my confidence when it comes to my credit, money management and investment. I closed my other accounts with SECU because they absolutely did nothing for me. This is my story, maybe yours is different... I ll respect that, but for me and CMCU, I m sooooo proud to say I bank with you!!!! You all make a tremendous difference in the community! No judge zone there, authentic, professional people!!!!

I purchased my home in 2005 with the assistance of CMCU. They were extremely helpful in walking me through the process. Some years later, when I decided to refinance, Steve Petroff went to a lot of trouble to make sure I got the best deal for my situation. I had to do my business banking elsewhere at first, because CMCU didn t do business banking. With SunTrust, I had crazy charges for random things (that were NEVER reversed) was issued a credit card that I never asked for, and had checks go missing from deposits three separate times. I was thrilled when I could finally take my business accounts to CMCU. Nothing has ever gone missing, there are no charges, and I already had my CMCU credit card. I do wish I could link my business and personal accounts with online banking, but it s been well worth the trade off.

I am not a member. THANK GOD! This place should shut down. What is the point of having after hours phone people when they are not knowledgeable. I received a cashiers check in the mail and I just wanted to know if it was good. Because of their inconveniencing me i have one of 2 options available. I can either take off time tomorrow and call than go cash it, or I can RIP up this $2250 cashiers check. Guess what option I chose. I ripped up the check. Im not taking time off work when its only my 3rd week. This credit union pays a company for after hours to do absolutely nothing. Needs to go out of business. I dont associate myself with stupid no brain people that goes for companys too.

Worst online services Ive ever encountered. You practically have to provide a blood sample to login or reset your password. SSN, birthday, security questions. none of those are enough. I could steal my own identity and still not have enough information to satisfy them. There are better authentication methods which are far less cumbersome, so I dont buy that theyre offering any greater level of security. Im sure the form response to this review will attempt to paint it in that light *rolleyes*. Website may be hosted by geocities circa 1998.

member services was on point today! I called due to some fees that happen from a place over charging me 3xs. Its the Holiday season and I sure dont have time to be overdrawn, although it was Amazon mistake it cause my account to be overdrawn with 3 fee (s) $33.00. The rep (s) I spoke with were apologetic and showed true empathy. They were able to see it was a mistake and took back their fees!

This BANK IS TERRIBLE. I just lost my job and they been adding overdraft fees on my account I only overdraft once so there should be only one one overdraft fee I have 4 which is ridiculous I called and they said they can t refund it. Like I m stressed I lost my now my last check I have before Christmas will be going to them and not my son. And it breaks my heart and Im just gone cancel my account, because this is ridiculous. And they don t care about their customers I was crying and she said well there s nothing i can do. I m done with them.

I have been a member since 1999. I had accounts with the big banks and they dont compare. CMCU financed a vehicle in 2014 for me and 2018, theyre financing another. The Representatives are polite, professional and always willing to help. Ive never had a problem or issue with them.

Thought this was the best bank when I opened my account with them. Was so glad to be back with a credit union. Turns out I was wrong! I was struggling for a while and only paid biweekly. Somehow my account went $7 in the negative, my paycheck was maybe 10 days away. Well, they closed my account and although I came in on payday and paid it up they put it on my credit report and left it there. Even after calling and emailing IT IS STILL THERE! Almost 8yrs later! Ive since contacted credit bureaus but it really sucks they did so much over $7. Not too mention my daughter who is now in college opened an account with them for savings. They couldnt for some reason keep track of her information. Not only did she give it to them personally, but she emailed documents several times (she goes to school in Durham) and they still didnt have the info. Charlotte Metro is a joke. Thanks but no thanks!

Be very careful they are not very professional people starting at the top, numerous complaint have been filed, they will hold you money even when they have been notified that the charges were false the same day the charged my account, it took 6 days to get my money back in my account after they had full knowledge of the double charges, again the person that made the mistake contact CMCU directly issue the numbers from the US Treasury and CMCU still refused to correct the account, they are sad to deal with and dishonest they are proud of
