My visits to MCU on Hylan Blvd are usually pleasent, but today was an exceptional one. It started with the teller I most frequently interact with, James M. James and I will often share humorous comments and leave each other smiling and today was no different. Thank you James M. for always being polite, professional, knowledgeable and caring. I dealt with David Lacagnina for my auto loan. I stopped in the first time and he was honest with me and told me to wait a week because an option I wanted with my loan would be available for me later. I came back a week later, not only did I get the option I wanted but my loan was approved and done in an hour or so. He was patient, professional, and very kind and clear about what was needed from me to get the process done as quickly as possible. I d recommend using him 100 times over. Update: I wrote one outstanding review. That was before the negligent actions of the bank. Long story short I did a lease buyout with MCU. Everything took an hour and a half tops and I was happy with my experience. Got my deed and had to pay $2,800 in sales tax at the dmv. Shame on me for not realizing so it s not their fault. But now I ve got a late payment notice on my credit because they didn t deduct the correct amount out of my paycheck to cover the loan. WHAT?! I got half of an apology due to confusion on their end. That s unacceptable. Now this is going to affect me for more than a year to come. Thanks MCU!

I went into the MCU office to inquire about a car loan to buy out my lease. I was helped by Austin. He explained to me what I needed to do to setup account first. From there Austin walked me through all the paper work that I would need to get the loan done. He was able to give a quote on the interest rate. Better rate then GM Financial and other banks around. I returned in 2 days and was able to complete the loan with Austin without a problem. Austin made me feel that I was a valued customer. He went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were covered. He informed me about a product the MCU uses for extended warranty on used vehicles. Austin gave me prices for the products and they were great! I had prices from the Chevy dealership and one other but MCUs price was the best and saved me over 2,000.00. Austin set me up and I was on my way. I would recommend Austin for your banking needs at the Hylan Blvd branch.

I went to MCU in New Dorp for a loan to consolidate my credit card debt. Something that has been consuming me for far too long. I was blessed with the opportunity to work with James P. on this loan application process. He advised me what I needed as far as documentation. He told me to return the following day to see him with all of my paperwork so we could complete the application, and so I did. Due to some blemishes on my credit report, it took some time to work through. James was phenomenal! He was patient, thorough, and went out of his way to do everything he could for me. He spent a lot of his time working with me and for me. Desired outcome achieved! I cant recommend this location enough, and James P. specifically. He was so lovely and made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. All of the staff at this location were friendly, helpful, and personable. This branch is AMAZING!! I went in a few weeks ago after having a horrible experience at a car dealership to inquire about an auto loan. The Assistant Manager Tiffany Cord happened to be there and guided me through what the process would be. She was extremely kind and patient. A few weeks later when I was ready to actually start the process, she had another member service rep named James Pucci assist me. I have never had such an exceptional customer service experience at a bank. The process was so smooth, he explained everything every step of the way and he was amazing. I wish I could give 10 stars as you rarely see that level of customer service and care any longer. If you ever need an auto loan this is definitely the place to go. Deshawn was absolutely amazing and helping me walk me through every step was a kind gentleman couldn t ask for more Also, the manager, Tiffany was equally as helpful. I had a problem with money being moved to a wrong account and she immediately got on the problem to fix it. She kept in touch with me calling me two or three times and then asked me to come in once the problem is rectified I have nothing but great things to say about this bank. Perfect. Stopped back in on August 31st with an issue concerning my credit card. Deshawn greeted me immediately professionally like he always does. Great service at this branch location, applied for a car loan for my senior mom and David was great with opening accounts, setting up the mobile app , insuring we had the correct documents and even went out of his way to stay past closing so we could get the final loan document signed. Closed on a Lease Buyout loan (used car loan). I started the process online through the app. Approved within 5 days and sent an email with some items that needed to be sent to MCU. I would strongly recommend you make an appointment at the branch ESPECIALLY here to continue the process. MR. James Pucci took over the application and walked me through it step by step. (first time financing) From day 1 he called me and emailed me a spreadsheet over every document you need in order to close the loan. Made an appointment with him in person and we closed the loan with flying colors. The staff there is amazing and its great to see the staff working with each other as a team. Anyone and everyone that needs help with anything should not look elsewhere. I look forward to working with them in the future!

I want to start off by saying I do not usually write reviews I just go sure and keep it moving that being said, I received nothing but the best help from start to finish, my account was closed years ago due to inactivity and not maintaining the account I went to this Branch not knowing what to expect and let me tell you do yourself a favor and go straight to David Lacagnina this kind Gentleman went above and beyond helping me open a new account walking me through all these steps so that I would understand everything I needed to know . I then returned at a later date seeking a personal loan, I knew the headaches with other places and I thought I d have the same experience but nope David Lacagnina yet again helped me through the whole process gave me great advice and made the whole process painless easy and just epic. I live far from the branch but I will kindly drive back and forth anytime I need help. All the staff seem great I might add but go talk to David lol.

I had a very pleasant experience with my visit to MCU on 5/17/23. The new location even though smaller, is very clean and bright. Most of the staff was smiling as I walked into the location and was also greeted immediately. The representative that assisted me was James P. He was not only professional but very helpful and knowledgable, addressing my concerns in obtaining a pre approval letter for car loan. I would recommend going to this location for all your finanical/banking needs.

This has to be the worst bank in the banking industry. Slow as molasses, no customer service skills, no basic operating systems. Waited 4 hours for someone to contact me regarding a Power of Attorney issue. I would NEVER bank with them. Its for low income, city workers, people with money would never bank here.

This bank is horrendous, my bank card was compromised on 12/04/22, this is day 3 of trying to get in touch with someone. For some reason they think that a 73 minute wait to talk to someone is reasonable, meanwhile have no debit access to my accounts. Their branches all close at 4:30, I work until 5. I guess i have to wait until Saturday to fix the problem and close my accounts.

I appreciate good customer service and that is why I am writing this review. The lease in my car was up and I needed a loan to finance it. I was greeted politely by Austin who then helped me along with this whole process. He knew exactly what needed to be done on his end and guided me step by step on what to do on my end. I needed to return for a second visit because I needed to obtain certain documentation from Hyundai. I emailed Austin with concerns I had and he replied within a timely manner. I was very pleased with the entire experience and would like to acknowledge his excellent customer service!

So unprofessional. Customer service is non existent. I was approved for a lease buy-out loan after a credit check. Everything seems good at first. Then let the games begin . They are so unorganized I was waiting for two months to just get documents to an agent. After waiting on hold for two hours, to only be disconnected. Then call again the next day to finally reach a representative, and I was told we will send you an email or an agent will contact you. Three business days later , nothing.. Call back again, now Im wondering if this is effecting my credit. I call again and was greeted so rudely from the start of the conversation. This person was obviously having a bad day. I was just trying to explain my situation and get some guidance. They just hang up. Unbelievable, what a rollercoaster. I finally decided to take the money out of my savings account and said forget this.. It was actually funny how bad it was .
