I was extremely disappointed with the customer service I received today at Sandia Area. I am a long time customer about 10 years in and was about to pay off my car loan over the phone. Myka or Michael was the supervisor at the call center at the time. Apparently there is a fee they charge over the phone but I was promised it would be waived as a good deed. I felt great about calling back to make my final payment over the phone as I live in California. Myka or Michael appeared to not really knw how many times the fee could be waived but I felt he didnt want to waive it because I asked to speak to a supervisor about it. The least you can do for your customers is honor your word. I felt he came off very rude and unprofessional about the situation it felt like he could have waived it but decided not to just to prove himself. I hope they can do better in the future. All my other interactions have always been great with everyone else I have dealt with over the years. I was the victim of a fraudulent electronic check. I was very panicked when I contacted the institution. A representative named Deirdre assisted me, and within minutes of speaking to this representative, their composure & professionalism did a great deal to calm me down. Deirdre helped me to resolve my issue in a very expedient & polite fashion. The exceptional degree of customer service I received turned an unfortunate & stressful event into a pleasant experience. The ease with which my situation was resolved is very reassuring; I am happy to be a member. Thanks again Deirdre!

I flew into Albuquerque from Dallas to buy a Jeep Rubicon from a customer of this bank. Unfortunately, the customer was late and would be arriving in 5 minutes when I was kicked out of the lobby by the bank manager Bri. I had $30,000 on my person at the time, which I showed to Bree and yet she still insisted I leave at 4:23 pm. The bank closes at 5:00 pm on Wednesdays. I wouldnt recommend this bank to anyone. Bri created a risk unnecessarily, out of ego.

Rude staff and very unprofessional. I called today to wonder why they are billing me two transfers for this month. This is after calling yesterday to tell them my payment is going to come in on the 19th instead of the 15th. The response I get is I m sorry I m not seeing a processing payment on here and I can t help you . I told Mike (the representative I was speaking with) that I cannot afford two payments and he froze and didn t know how to help me. This place is the worst customer service I ve dealt with.

If I can elaborate shortly the gratitude of the helpful individuals at this institution.. I processed a loan for a vehicle they carried for me for a long duration of 2-3 weeks.. I had not a anticipated to sell after the loan was processed, I had gone into the branch to retrieve the title and pay off the amount and I couldn t have been more happy Chelsea G happened to be the one who came out to inform me they had not received the title because the time frame had been so short. She informed me with such a grace and smile through her mask radiated such a level of comfort that was needed at a time of distress seeking such an item where it would be.. She spent countless time tracking it down through out the entire day informing me several times that she was diligently searching and wouldn t stop her search till it was found.. in conclusion she retrieved the title had it ready at the receptionist with ease when I came back it was like it never happened.. The gratitude I extend to this institution for finding such a person of character and dedication to her job and the sandia area credit unions clients.. What an asset to represent this Institution a person of such high integrity and dedication should be nothing short of rewards and appointment..

Unfortunately it is impossible to bank without going into a branch. If you never need to deposit a check, use a mobile app, or send or receive money, Sandia may be a sufficient solution. If you anticipate needing any of those services, expect 10 hours of emails text and phone support, and a week for turnaround time. Ive struggled for almost a decade with Sandia and have not experienced any improvement.

Worst place to get any loans! This is my second time I tried to get a loan! The first time I got approved a commercial vehicle... but then the came back after I sent the info of the vehicle... they said they dont do specialty vehicle...it was a( tow truck)... and they knew what I was going in for. They say the have quick response on approval Thats a lie! I have to call them and they take for ever to answer!Two days later! Stay away from getting a loan from them! If I could I would but negative stars.

I have been a member of Sandia Area FCU for a good 20 yrs and there are plenty good reasons. I even moved to Montana for 12 years and kept my banking with them. They are easy to access, professional and courteous staff are always there to help. If any questions they may have with my account, I get to promptly hear from one of their staff. Their car loan rates and services saved me money and was able to pay off my loan months sooner. I thank all levels of their team for maintaining a high standard of professional care to me as a customer!!

I can say worst experience ever 1. I was scheduled at Paseo location had an appointment show up and Carlos states that I didn t have an appointment (thank goodness for confirmation texts). I show up which I drive 35 minutes to get to this location and I m 35 weeks pregnant, have my 5 year old with me and to top it off a new member. Carlos states that they scheduled me at the wrong location and the person who was opening my auto loan transfer was at the coors location. Carlos tries to call to see if they could get me into the coors location. Carlos said he couldn t help me with the paper work because it was assigned to someone and they get credit for signing new loans. Long story short I drive to coors and talk to Ivon Lopez (coors) who was super helpful and amazing she helped me fill out all paper work needed. On top of that being the only person working at that branch. I was also told I could of been helped at Paseo because no one opened my loan or was assigned which makes me even more frustrated with Sandia on Palomas. I would of not opened an account or switched if it wasn t for Ivon I would have not opened my account.

I needed help with a problem with a charge that had not shown up in our statement. I spoke with Genevieve at the call center and she was able to resolve my problem rather quickly. She was very pleasant during our conversation and nice to speak with. Also, my interactions with Bonnie at the Paseo Branch have always been very pleasant and helpful whenever I have needed assistance. Bonnie is such a nice person and always willing to help. Great rates on loans & fairly prompt service. If you need to ask them questions text them, dont call. Much quicker response & much easier. Their rates on loans are great but they can be a little slow origination loans and getting a loan closure scheduled. Their banking app is pretty good & it is very convenient that it keeps all your accounts, including loans, all visible. I pay my car loans by transfer using the app & it makes it so much easier.

I am not sure if I called the call center or the Montgomery branch. My reason for calling was a mistake on my end that ultimately resulted in an overdraft. I was hoping I would be able to get some help to fix it but was told I could not. I gave a 1 on my text survey out of frustration. Within 5 minutes I received a call from Karen. Karen went above and beyond, tried to help my situation again but couldnt because of timing, she did refund my fee and did not have to do that. Then Etta called me later, not realizing Karen had already called. Etta went even further on my behalf, and again, did not have to. Like I said this all was the result of my own mistake - I am amazed by how I have been treated, like I am important, as every customer should be treated. I came to Sandia from Wellsfargo where I had to fight to correct their mistakes and the customer service was always geared towards not helping. Several weeks ago my boyfriends mother passed and we needed to get a check off hold earlier than it was supposed to be available so we could get to Kansas. I cannot remember who I spoke with but she also went above and beyond for us then. Every experience has been a 5 star experience at Sandia Area!

Charged off my account over 5.00 dollars.. Disputed it directly with transunion and asked to have it removed from my credit as it was paid. But Sandia declined and left it remaining on my credit. OVER 5.00.. Another charge off that was paid in full was on my credit, got a letter from the manager at the credit union on Menaul and candelaria stating the charge off would be removed from my credit report. It was never removed still on there 5 years later. absolute criminal bank... they ll take everything you have Stay away

I m not sure if I reach the Albuquerque office or the call center, but regardless Every time I have called the bank, the customer service is extremely friendly, very helpful, and always makes me feel comfortable and takes care of my transactions immediately. Most times it s my password expiring. Friendly people are extremely important to me because there s nothing worse than calling and someone makes you feel like you re putting them out. Sandia Area FCU Paseo branch recently held a cyber security seminar for interested members. It was particularly well attended and well organized. Everyone who attended was very impressed the level of knowledge of the staff regarding the subject matter, and I learned some very valuable ways to increase my security level. I was glad that I chose to attend the seminar.

We worked with Dominique to get an auto loan and she was very knowledgeable and accommodating. This is my third time working with SAFCU and I have and will continue to recommend them to family and friends.

Best service out there by far! Joan knows her stuff and it was a pleasure to work with her! The entire staff was very friendly and welcoming. Plus they have free cookies! I ll Definitely be recommending this place to my Family and friends. Keep up the great work guys! :)

I absolutely regret going with Sandia for our auto loan. We had problems from the start which was no big deal. The dealer contacted us and told us that we are not getting our plates due to missing information and they gave us the contact person and number. Why couldnt they call me instead? Tried to reach them, waited a long time to get a hold of someone and then get transferred to their voicemail. Left them several messages and no one called me back! What I also dont like to have to pay $15 to make a payment over the phone. I am not in the area to come into the bank but damn! I dont use checks so thats out the question. I was told to sign up for the payment center on a different website. Okay, no problem but now I am waiting for it to be approved...... Called Sandia, the person I talked to had no idea what I was talking about. She said she will give me a call tomorrow. Well, I wont get my answer. Great! I hate this bank! I will be moving to another bank.

Ive been banking with Sandia Area for nearly 20 years. They have always been slow to adopt new technology and have occasionally been difficult to work with on business matters but never bad enough that I wanted to change banks. However, recently went in to setup a NFA Living Trust account with the proper documentation from my lawyer and Branch Manager (John) would not set it up. Wells Fargo setup a the new account with the same documentation in 10 minutes. If I cant trust them to handle simple planning matters like this I can not trust them with my checking and savings accounts. Sadly I will be leaving Sandia Area.

had an issue immediately as a new member and didnt get a resolution until 3 months later...90 days of grief and holding on the phone and runarounds etc. ugh! be ready to deal

Except the phone service all the help they do is excellent. Sadly the phone goes to a single branch and wait times can be longer than if I had called this branch direct.

We went to the Coors branch to refinance our vehicle because we were enticed by the low interest rates advertised on the local television channels. Long story short when we asked one of the representatives to explain some of the extra fees on documents, he turned his computer and said look i just typed your name in and those fees just suddenly appeared The bank rep pretty much said he had no idea what the extra fees were for! The fees werent much but the fact that he couldnt explain how they were calculated worried me. We obviously werent very comfortable proceeding with the loan. Needless to say our facial expression showed our hesistancy and distrust. Instead of trying to get us answers, the representative eventually told us that whether we got the loan or not he got paid his hourly rate regardless. In my honest opinion, it was an absolutely terrible banking experience.

I am EXTREMELY unhappy with this bank. Their hours are awful, their customer service is far less than satisfactory -especially over the phone- I have been trying to regain at home access for months and I cant go to their office because of their hours. Their phone service is automated and even when you do get a hold of a real person they just redirect you 3 hours on the phone and I have accomplished nothing. I will be switching banks the moment I get the chance.

Im not much a person who likes to write reviews, but after a unpleasant experience trying to refinance my moms vehicle through their company, it was enough to motivate me to warn others who plan to conduct business with their financial institution. The day before our scheduled appointment to finalize pertaining paperwork, a member service officer contacted my mom via phone to disclose some additional fees that she will have to accept in order for the loan to be completed. The representative heavily emphasized the requirement of either selecting between the two insurance options: disability or liability; which will binded with the initial loan request resulting into higher monthly payments for my mom to incur. From my understanding, those insurance coverages are not really needed but can be offered as a safety net option for the customer. Nonetheless, my mom was pressured into acquiring this coverage due to the fact that the member service officer made it seem she didnt have a choice to decline. I accompanied my mom the following day to meet up with the representative and came to find out that the insurance coverage was clearly just an option. We instantly revised our deal and was able to save my mom half of the money she would have spent if she went with the route dictated by the loan officer. I am infuriated with the unethical manner on how this institution decides to conduct business and tries to take advantage of people who are unaware of the hidden fees they impose; like my mother for this instance. Despite of the attractive deals they portray in their television ads, be cautios when it comes to acquiring business from them.

We became a member of Sandia Area Credit Union because the dealership where we bought our car from was able to get us a great interest rate from them; however, this is the most frustrating credit union to be a member of. They do not have shared branching (co-op)! Repeat; they are not part of shared branching. This makes things difficult especially since we moved out of state recently. They also do not do address changes for up to 60 days after your move has taken effect. Their online system is way behind in terms of signing up (they have to approve online access whereas other banks and credit unions allow instant access once verfication is complete). The format of their online system and the layout of the information that you see is horrid. All in all, this bank is way behind in everything. I will never be an advocate for Sandia Area Credit Union. Go to a credit union that is part of a co-op or cu-anytime network. This credit union is lacking bigtime.

My family has been very happy having our accounts with Sandia Area FCU. Theyre very helpful in person or over the phone, have convenient locations for us, and being able to use the CU Anytime ATMs all over town is very convenient.

We were approved for a car loan 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting for them to finish processing the loan. We gave up and went through our bank out of state and got it completely done in 2 days. So much for giving a local bank a chance. This bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Everybody we have dealt with at this bank is incompetent.

The branch on Palomas Ave is a great branch to do business with. The staff is friendly and the service is great. They always make me feel welcomed when I come in. I did a car loan at a dealership with the credit union and it was quick and easy.
