Honest to God this place is the best. Without The greater alliance I think there would not be as much successful people with good credit and doing good business as there is today. Bibi, Tasha and Pilar are all great associates who genuine care to help in many more ways than one. This business has helped me grow as a person. When all doors were closed ,T.G.A. opened their doors to me and helped me build and fix my credit. Now all companies send me letters to open credit with them. I owe it all to the Greater Alliance.

I have been bank with this bank for over ten years. I have also taken out a few loans through them. They are truly unique! I have recommended so many people to them. The staff is fantastic as well. Gina and Thompsina are perfect staff members, and they understand. The only reason I gave them a three-star rating is because I called last week to inquire about a fast cash loan, and they no longer offer the program; it was such a selling point to attract new members and, in my case, keep members.

Hopefully, they bring something similar to that back.

Gina checked in on my process to make sure I was getting what I needed which made me feel comfortable and completely impressed by her professionalism and customer service. Unprofessional here dont come to this branch I came in to finalize my lease buy out I did everything throughout the phone and email to come in Saturday sign all paperwork and open up my saving account to finish up the process my lending representative on the phone didnt tell me I had to bring in additional paperwork to open up my saving account when Greater Alliance had all of my information through the lending representative Personnel in the bank told me I can come back with the additional paperwork and told me my lending representative and her work in two different departments and my representative didnt know how they operate in branch when I came back to finish off the last final process they waved me off and told me they werent quote on quote staying behind to help me out Im trying out a different branch hopefully there not as rude and I have a better experience.

Shout out to GABBY at Hackensack Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union for her guidance, support and knowledge of the GAFCUs optional Disability Insurance plan. You dont need the insurance until you do! Saved my life having the disability insurance coverage during my unexpected illness. My GAFCU loan could have defaulted and goodness knows what that would have done to the high credit score I worked hard to achieve. If youre considering any type of insurance coverage, such as disability or unemployment, just do it!! Again, thanks to Gabby for making the claims process understandable and EASY!!

I love this bank! They try hard to get you everything you want or need. My car loan was more than 50% less interest than traditional banks. They treat you like a person and not as a dollar sign. Why would anyone go to a traditional bank. They are thieves. Thank you Greater Alliance FCU! This bank actually cares not like your big thieving banks. Came in for a loan didn t have all the documents so went back home to get them. Got on line to wait and they acknowledged me that I was waiting in line so I sat downright next to the line some came afterwards and as soon as next in line was said person got in front of me. I asked you guys don t acknowledge lines ? The lady came to me barely skimmed through my papers and told me to wait because she preferred to take the person that cut me that probably already had an account and was making a payment or something. Very disappointed that occurred. Lady knew I was next why didn t you want to take care of me first ?? Why make a potential new customer wait??

In person service is good. The drive through is slow. My ATM card was locked out because I tried the wrong password several times, but the machine didnt tell me what was wrong. From that time, I tried to make cash ATM deposits for months, thinking there was an ATM problem. The ATM makes you go through the whole process, only rejecting your transaction after you waste time going through screen after screen, and finally rejects your transaction, without any clear error message. Finally I brought up the issue today in the branch and it was rectified nicely.

Ive banked with this company for over 10 years, but I recently had an issue with my loan. I called to have it resolved, but that was back in March (7 months ago). I was told to write a letter and send it to management. My loan was set to expire last month, but I still dont have a resolution, yet a call back from the bank. I left multiple messages and emails without a replies. I call and Im always told the same story Manager is in Meeting and he will call me back at the end of the day. Cool Story right??? Im still waiting for that call lol.

I visited the Hackensack new branch on 6/14 to make a large deposit check and open a youth account for my son. When I got to the office, it was 4:40 pm. I had to wait for about 5 minutes to be attended as tellers were busy. No problem with that, but the kick came in when I tried to open the account and was told that it can t be done as staff has to be done by 5 pm on the dot. I even spoke to one of the supervisors as it is not easy for me to come in person to Hackensack. I don t live in the area and I don t really have time, but the answer remained a no, no blink, no buts. I guess the office slams the door at customers if you arrive 5 mins before closing. Just to put into perspective how irritating and inconvenient this is, and how little this office cared for business, I closed a NYC based credit union whom I ve done business for over 20 years to have all my accounts and my son s under the same umbrella, and this is how they treat customers! I guess the deposit wasn t large enough. There is really something about a bank that doesn t appreciate new or continuous business. I guess this credit union is just good for mortgages. This experience has led me to seek other alternatives and just keep great alliance for my mortgage and forget about banking with these people.

Nice new building most employees are friendly but dont use their bathroom without asking I almost got my head cut off lol by a lady. Not sure if she was the manager. I Used it other times. No signs or was ever told before. ITS for employees ONLY one of the tellers told me.

They have no staff at their busiest times and then the staff that they do have are less than helpful and are Rude! You would think that when the lines are wrapped around the lobby, the customer service personnel sitting in their cubicles not assisting anyone would come out and assist with transactions, but they don t. Even the manager is rude and does nothing to assist the customers.

I did my loan in two parts. In June I worked with Maya who explained everything to me very well, but I opted to go with a small amount so I could go home and look through all my finances and bills to figure out what I really needed. I have worked with Maya before and she is wonderful! When I came back to finish my loan, I worked with Pilar. The employees are nice and professional. HOWEVER... One think I didnt like at all, is they do their typing, they work on their computer screens and they hand you an electronic pad to sign...I mentioned to 2 employees... I need to read, see, absord, understand what I am signing on. This is something serious and very important...This is definitely something needs to be changed with any customer...wether you opening, closing an account, applying for a loan...whatever the transection...you should not be handed a pad and signblindly without knowing g what you signing on!

This is the worst bank for multiple reasons. For one the banks door is broken and sometimes you cannot get into the bank to make deposits or withdraws after hours. The customer service is horrible and you will be waiting for a long time so if you re in a rush don t even waste your time going to this branch. I recently found out my account was frozen since November, it s February and they made no attempts to contact me, I only found out because my card kept giving me trouble. They never sent me a new card after I spent an hour on the phone with a representative and when I came to the branch to receive a new debt card, again their horrible customer service spoke for itself. I wanted at the branch for over an hour for them to tell me the machine that makes the cards is out of service. Now we are in April in the middle of a pandemic and I m having trouble with them again. One of my apps was compromised and over $1,500 was taken from my account. I called in to submit a dispute and was advise that I have to submit half the dispute with a rep and the other half on a paper document. A week later a rep called me back stating that the dispute didn t go through and I have to submit it manually. I never had experience with a bank where you have to print out a document to submit in order to file a dispute. What are we in the 80 s? If you looking for a checking account and your a fast paced person this is not the bank for you. Look elsewhere!!!

I have been a member of greater Alliance for approximately 25 years. Everybody in the organization goes above and beyond to assist you. I prefer to deal with Gina in the Hackensack branch. She goes out of her way to assist you with any and all matters ASAP and greets you with a smile. I could not ask for anything more than the service that Gina and her staff provide. When you walk in a large bank you are just an account number. Excellent customer service! !

I have been with this bank for over 15 years and I have never, ever regreted the day when I decided to join this branch. The employees are always very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a great place to do your banking with.

Ive been a member of the Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union for almost 30 years now. Im always greeted with a smile, acknowledged by name, and treated with the utmost respect, professionalism and courtesy. All staff members show patience, professionalism and knowledge of their field. Its a very good felling to be treated like a person, and to be listened to, and have all my questions answered. Over the years, Ive seen many staff members promoted, and/or moved to positions of more responsibility including management. With this, I see staff in leadership positions treat their staff members the same as they do anyone, with respect, kindness, professionalism and diplomacy. GAFCU goes above and beyond to ensure my money is safe. Twice they stopped unfamiliar transactions, and notified me immediately that my account was on hold until I verified the transaction were mine. I appreciate and trust how GAFCU works. Its a good feeling to know that I can depend on and trust them. Thats why Ive ben a member all these years. I highly recommend them to anyone that wants a trusted, and respected financial institution. They are the best! Thank you GAFCU for all your help over the years. I look forward to many more!! My experience at Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union was a great one. Everybody was very friendly there and made you feel right at home.. I didnt have to wait long to talk to a loan officer (Gina Coccippo) which for me was great since im always on the move! Gina was also great to work with and made the transaction as smooth as possible! Anytime in the near future that i will need a loan, i will be coming here again.. So much better than a regular bank. I feel like a human being rather than a number at the other banks!!

I have been a member for over 30 years. I have always been more than satisfied with the service and attention received from the staff, especially Gina C of the Hackensack branch. All of my banking needs have always been met and Gina continues to be there for me and my daughters.

This is the best bank for customer service and helpfulness. There is usually a short line. If there is a line, the staff moves to alleviate the situation. Everyone in the bank is helpful and when you are finished with your transactions, the cheering parting words, Have a GREATER day. always makes me smile. In a world of short tempers and discourtesy, its delightful to have a neighborhood bank that strives for superior service and offers all the bells and whistles of larger banks.

I have been a member for many years. They have always tried to give every one personalized service. Over the years there have been situations that needed specialized attention and I have been very lucky to have them addressed by Gina C. She is amazing!

Nice credit union . Dislike that there is a minimum balance on the accounts and they charge me $1 each month for a statement. Besides that it a good credit union with nice employees.

It is one of the most reliable associations. I have been doing business with them for 18 years. They are very competent. Every time I ask for their help, they give me the necessary help and I am very satisfied with their performance.

Ive been a member for over 20 years now and I can tell you I love this credit union! Ive had multiple loans over the years and Ive never had an issue. Customer service is outstanding! The ease of having multiple accounts set up, then have money direct deposited into one account that auto pays my loans and then folds whats left over into a savings account is great!!! I Highly recommended Greater Alliance Federal Credit Union!

Service was excellent, I applied for Loan, discussed what I needed, took suggestion from Loan originator Gus, he told me what I needed to give him . Sent over information and Loan was approved within a few days. I could not have had a better experience and Gus answered all the questions we asked regarding the loan. I highly recommend doing business with Greater Alliance and Gus

Great local place to have as your local bank. I was in a 7% loan & they brought it down to 4.25% which will save me a couple of grand... I bank with Mia shes AWESOME!!

We are long time members of Greater Alliance Credit Union and when shopping around for a Home Equity Line of Credit/Loan, we chose GACU for their ultra competitive rates and discounts. If you are a member, fees such as closing costs, filing and paperwork fees, and application fees are waived. Thats not all, though. Andre Porter was our HELOC contact person and he does not mess around!!! He is professional, diligent, and made sure that our valuable time was not wasted on sending multiple copies of the same information over and over again. He explained all of our options clearly and was happy to answer our 5,000 questions about the process. Closing day was a breeze and we finished signing our paperwork within 30 minutes. GACU better keep Andre around!!!

We applied for a Home Equity Line and our experience right from start to finish with Mr. Andre Porter was so professional and exceptional that we were actually surprised. Thinking that a Credit Union may be slow, it was such a departure from the norm. Due to the extra-ordinary efforts of Andre we closed within less than 3 weeks! We still keep talking about the exceptional services proved by Andre Porter. We need more like him in this Industry.

I applied for a home equity loan with Greater Alliance. It was an unusual request due to the circumstances involved. Andre Porter was there for me all the way through and did everything possible to help me out. He even went above and beyond and delivered the paperwork personally. If your applying for a loan work with Andre Porter he was fantastic.
