We were moving across states with new jobs into a new build which had its closing date pushed back twice delaying things by months, while dealing with interest rates going crazy, selling our old home while living in it, and the spring/summer housing market madness. After overcoming all of that, I am extremely grateful I got to work with Scott Spicer on my loan. He got me the best rate locked in throughout all the delays while rates rocketed. He was very knowledgeable and always answered my calls whenever. We even decided to go with him instead of the builder’s lender that came with credits. He’s a good guy that works hard. In hindsight after observing the service I received from my realtor, builder, movers, packers, and all other moving related services, I can safely say they all sucked to some degree. I was just another client fit into their “over-promised” schedule. Scott was truly the only one positive experience. He always delivered. He never over promised. Andrew and his team did an AMAZING job! It was the easiest refinancing process we have been through. It was stress free and easy from start to finish! We signed closing documents within about 3 weeks! Very impressed with the way they handled everything! Communication was clear and quick responses to all questions. Mark recently helped my wife and I buy our new two-family house (we closed in March) and also helped my parents with their financing in order to buy our old house (They closed at the end of February.) Needless to say, there were a lot of moving pieces and elements that needed to be timed properly for everything to work out. Not only did Mark and his team never miss a deadline anywhere within either deal, they were instrumental at several points in helping the other actors to avoid missing their deadlines. Mark's knowledge of the real estate industry is impressive and I heard repeatedly from everyone else involved in both deals how impressed they were with not only his expertise, but his responsiveness.

For my parent's purchase of our home, he was able to get them a 3.0% interest rate in early January, with zero-down as a second home purchase (something we were repeatedly assured would be impossible by others). This was significantly better than anything else my parents' had been able to find on their own (to the point that they were skeptical of whether it would turn out to be too good to be true)

My wife and I, on the other hand went under contract back in mid-December and Mark was able to get me a rate that was significantly lower than any of the other half-dozen lending agents I had spoken with up to that point. Not only was the rate lower, but he was able to offer me an extended rate lock that was weeks/months longer than anyone else was even willing to entertain. So remarkable was the deal that Mark worked out for me, that several others involved with the deal insisted that it was too good to be true, and kept trying to tell me that there was no way I was going to be able to close the deal with the numbers he was offering.

That said, Mark made himself available to me 24/7 for the three months between going under contract and closing on the house. We closed on-time and with almost the same exact numbers that he had quoted me back in December. We closed on our dream multi-family house in mid-March with a rate of 2.25%, Zero-down, at over a million dollars for the property. Of everyone involved with the deal, Mark is the only one who never missed a beat, never over-promised, and followed through with everything he said he and his team would be able to do. We experienced delays from nearly every other actor in the deal, particularly on the seller's side of the process. Again, Mark and his team were instrumental at several points in either directly intervening, or helping walk me through the process of ensuring that the deal continued to make forward progress toward closing.

My wife and I are hoping to look into buying a second house in the future and I can't imagine buying another property without at least giving Mark and his team the chance to match and/or beat all other offers for lending. I would recommend anyone reading this to at least offer him the chance to prove that he really is as great as all of his reviews says he is before moving on to anyone else.

I have obtained or refinanced a mortgage numerous times over the past 35 years, and refinancing with First Mortgage Solutions was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience I've had. Tamara Gillespie explained the steps very clearly at the start, everything moved along efficiently, my questions were answered quickly and clearly, the fees were less than those offered by my previous mortgage holder, I was able to sign the closing papers at home -- and there were no mistakes or surprises in the closing statement! Tamara was recommended to me by several neighbors, and now I'm passing on the recommendation.

Throughout the process, Scott maintained open lines of communications. We would contact him via email, phone and text and the responses were instant. He was available during the evening and weekends as well (huge plus!).

Scott gives really great advice and has your best interest at heart. He sincerely cares about getting you the best loan terms possible. Our builder changed the closing dates multiple times but Scott and his team were always ready to close before time. We would not hesitate to finance our future properties with Scott.

We got good interest rate locked in initially (for the market at that moment). Then, when interest rates lowered surprisingly, our lender allowed us to float down the interest rate to be more consistent with the new rates. This saved us A LOT of money over the life of the loan. I also really liked that the loan officer was very responsive when I needed assistance.

Horrible experience working with them. They were great in the beginning with competitive rates. However two days before closing, we realized they hadnt properly processed our loan. They hadnt done their due diligence that ended up costing us a few thousand more in closing. Futhermore, they also didnt process on our time making us delay our closing by a day. Stay away from this lender. I have been following with loan officer for three months and no resolution. Hence resorting to posting here.

Working with Basil was the easiest and most pleasant part of my entire home buying experience! Basil is not just down to earth and knowledgeable, he is also the most responsive person I have ever worked with. Day or night, Basil was on the ball! The thing that meant so much to me was that no matter what, he was devoted to getting the best deal for my family and that he (and his team) truly looks out for our veterans. This company is a huge joke! They provide you with constant horrible customer service. I was constantly bullied by my loan officer. My realtor was even mortified by his behavior. Then months after I thought I would never have to deal with them again they randomly run your credit - without consent. My loan is not even with them anymore!! Please save yourself the nightmare of this company. Go somewhere that cares.

Contacted Loan Officer 1 with First Mortgage Direct about a home loan. She was informative and responsive. Not sure if she was fired or quit but I stopped hearing from her. After two weeks, I called the bank and was informed she was no longer with the company. I was referred to Loan Officer 2. Spoke with Loan Officer 2 she told me she had everything she needed and would be sending my paper work to underwriting. Another week goes by and no word from Loan Officer 2. I called the bank again asked to speak with a loan manager. I was sent to the VP of customer experience or something like that. Left him a voicemail. Loan Officer 2 calls me apologized, stating the VP had reached out to her. To date, I havent received a phone call or email from the VP. Hopefully, you will have a better experience with this bank than I did. Honestly, they dont deserve the one star.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL DECEIVE YOU INTO THINKING YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD RATE AND THEN COMPLETELY SCAM YOU INTO ULTIMATELY PAYING MORE THAN ANY OTHER MORTGAGE COMPANY ONCE ITS TOO LATE TO SWITCH. If I could give negative stars I would. My family lost $40k to this scam of a company. They started off super responsive and nice and kept saying everything is on track for closing. Then after 2 weeks I stopped receiving updates, got no responses to any of my emails and could not get a hold of anyone. I had to continue pestering them until I finally got a response where they said everything was on track for closing. THEN 2 days before closing they suddenly said that they could not close on time, lied to us about some missing tax documents that wouldnt come in on time and said we needed to change our loan type completely, pay $30k more for the down payment AND pay $15k in points in order to keep our rate that we had LOCKED IN. We had no other choice but to proceed in order to keep our house since the seller wasnt budging on moving the closing date. I ended up having to take out a loan from friends in order to pay for this loan, which was ridiculous. Then one day after closing, the lender called me back to make amends and said that they had ACTUALLY GOTTEN A WAIVER ON THE TAX TRANSCRIPT so we couldve kept the original loan (??) but that the change to a different loan type (and decision to pay $40k more) was OUR DECISION? Ive never seen something so infuriating in my life and I am so utterly regretful that I had picked this company for our mortgage. Not only were there countless nights of stress and insomnia due to this situation, we lost a lot of money that we were planning to spend on renovations and now Im also have more debt I need to pay off from borrowing for the down payment. Ive seen other reviews similar to mine about this company, so Im almost positive most of their positive reviews are fake reviews that they bought off the internet. Its completely ridiculous.

My guy was responsive while I was searching. I had to redo my pre-approval letter a number of times for different properties (which is pretty normal). I ended up having a really tight deadline to put in an offer, and didnt have time to try to price match, so I went with a different lender. I didnt inform my guy at FMS, which is on me. But when my primary lender had a health emergency, I was in kind of a crisis and tried to come back to FMS. My lender basically told me, youve been too much work for me, and you obviously werent planning to tell me you went with someone else, so I dont want to work with you. Im sure hes on commission, and Im sure hes got better prospects with other customers. So it comes down to, I didnt treat him all that well after I went with another lender, and he refused my business. Again, hes not really in the wrong here. Its just bad for the customer.

Overall good. Scott was always very responsive. First Mortgage says they support mortgage rate float down, but they rejected us three times when we asked to have our rate lowered when 30yr fixed mortgage rates experienced major drops a couple of times while we were getting our loan.

I was a first time homebuyer. my lending agent John was without a doubt one of the best parts of my home buying experience. I had originally started with my local credit union, and even though I made that decision, John was still providing advice and guidance during my prequalifying. When the time came to put an offer in, and my slow, rude credit union could not give the sellers a # of days to close, John assured me that sub 30 days was very realistic for his company. I made the switch and never looked back. Johns timeliness in working with my realtor to put together the best lending offer was key in us winning the bid on the home I wanted the most. His advice on appraisals, rate locking, escrow, and even home insurance helped me feel like an expert during closing when communicating with each group and making decisions. I plan to use FMD again in the future if/when the time comes to look at another mortgage product thanks to this experience.

Back again, we were given the clear to close twice. We set up the appointment with the title company and signed all needed documents. Both times they retracted saying there is an issue with the documents. We were supposed to close last week and now it looks like we won t close till next week. All these issues should have been addressed weeks ago when we turned in the information! April, Heather, and Darry have completely screwed up our loan process and have caused so much stress on me. They are extremely unprofessional. At this point I feel it would be easier to just back out of the purchase all together, which sucks because the house is perfect and the deal is extremely hard to find where I live.

Absolute worst mortgage loan company I could have chosen. We ended up having to move are closing date because they did not get everything done in time, which cost us a lot of money and head ache. They used the excuse of fat finger for multiple things. I dont have time to wright everything they did wrong but I do not recommend them to anyone. They lied about the rate I was getting. I had to schedule the appraisal, after noticing it wasnt done the week before closing. I asked several time if we need anything else (the week before closing) they said no then the day of closing they brought up more. I was unable to speak to a loan officer. They practically avoided me, and I just wanted to make sure everything was getting done in a timely manner and it clearly was not. We still havent closed yet but it is too late to turn back now. I am already planning to refinance with a respected company within the next year. I really hope nothing else goes wrong but I have little faith that will happen.

Absolutely horrible process. After waiting 60 days to sign they lost my rate lock and then tried to get me a higher rate and pay for it. They took to long and didn t want to pay for keeping my rate. Nice people, just worst place to do a refinance through. Lots of bait and switching.

Wells Fargo and Better both provided best mortgage experiences than First Mortgage. Our mortgage broker told us we could close in July, when rates were at an all time low, and instead we had to close in October. First Mortgage made no effort to rectify situation or help us financially after receiving a worse deal in October. Integrity is extremely important, and in this case there was none throughout deal.

Brian Leonard from First Mortgage Direct was very helpful and guide us through every single step of the process. the communication with him was awesome via phone calls, text and emails. But the most important part is that he was able to make critical decisions that can affect our rate (like locking our rate, before the market went up, affecting the whole process). We strongly recommend to do business with First Mortgage Direct, but specially with Brian Leonard who is going to be the person that is going to guide you in this difficult process that is to find a good lender.

Some unexpected issues occurred during our loan process, creating unforeseen delays. Kerrie and her team actively managed these issues personally, and communicated through phone calls, texts and emails till these issues were solved. When the normal process didnt work, First Mortgage Solutions spent the time to make things right. I wasnt calling an automated system, I had separate direct emails and cell phone numbers to call.

Mark & Matthew our lenders, did a great job! Can t say enough about these two. From start to finish they made it happen. We got the Lowest interest rate with the highest dispersement. Always available and never had any worries with these guys. Very helpful with information and how to use technology today when we didn t have access to a scanner. They know how to do it all. Ive worked with Basil twice; once on my initial mortgage to purchase a beautiful new home and then again when he brought to my attention that the rates had dipped enough to make it worthwhile to refinance to get a better interest rate. Throughout both processes, Basil was available, responsive, knowledgeable, patient and thorough. Even on evenings and weekends, he was always responsive and was able to clarify things when we had questions. FMS was hands down the easiest, fastest closing we have ever done with a company. Basil Benyo our agent with First Mortgage, let us know our different options. He was very knowledgeable, kind, answered ALL my questions. And I always have A LOT! He even gave me great news and made my whole day when it came time to close. See we were going to be on vacation that same week he wanted to close. Basil then informed me, don t worry about it our company will send a closing agent out to where ever you are. I have obtained or refinanced a mortgage numerous times over the past 35 years, and refinancing with First Mortgage Solutions was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience Ive had. Tamara Gillespie explained the steps very clearly at the start, everything moved along efficiently, my questions were answered quickly and clearly, the fees were less than those offered by my previous mortgage holder, I was able to sign the closing papers at home -- and there were no mistakes or surprises in the closing statement! Trevor and the rest of the team were awesome. I gave them a never-ending list of questions for my investment property and they took the time to answer them time and time again. I shopped around with probably 5/6/7 different lenders and came back to First Mortgage because of their rates and very friendly customer service. Others offered low rates as click bait, but never answered my questions and worse, kept asking me to fill out the same information again and again, proving I was just a number. First Mortgage is different. If you are trying to decide which lender to use, keep in mind that not only does First Mortgage offer incredible rates, they back that up with a great team to help take you from inquiry to close!

I worked with Jake Longhta and his team (Ashley Whaley and Stephanie OFarrell). Bottom Line: Personable people (when you can reach them) - this is emphatically NOT a critique of them personally. As for FMS - Poor communication, sloppiness, and limited VA loan knowledge characterized my FMS experience - The entire focus of the FMS team was simply to package up my loan to sell it (or go on vacation). And it showed. Jake was very responsive and personable - until he had earned my business. After I declined all other offers I had from other lenders, Jake disappeared. From then on Jake never responded to any emails when concerns arose (he either ignored them completely or simply had someone else respond separately). Ashley was very personable. However, at key moments she simply didnt communicate. Prior to the end of due diligence, I sent Ashley an email ahead of time and asked her for a status update since I hadnt heard from her for some time. With a good deal of money riding on this deadline, I never heard from her. Ever. She just ignored my request and the due diligence period passed without a word from anyone at FMS. Later, in the waning couple of weeks before closing - with lots of different issues popping up - Ashely disappeared. Literally. Turns out she just went on vacation. My criticism isnt that she went on vacation; everyone deservers a vacation! However, she/nobody ever mentioned it. Right in the middle of the critical closing period, she vanishes without any coordination. The professional thing to do would have been to simply let everyone know she would be out and give us the name/contact info of the person who would be handling her business in her absence. Right? Her stand-in just showed up and caused panic when she told everyone the closing date was wrong - right before closing. Honest mistake that probably resulted from the aforementioned poor communication at FMS. Stephanie was really personable and only came into the picture in the last phase prior to closing. However, she also suffered from FMS communication woes. Our closing was nearly cancelled (which would have resulted in us losing our rate lock and pushing the deal out another month - which wouldnt work for the sellers; costing us thousands and losing the deal) because she simply didnt communicate with my agent or the closing attorney. I had to scramble to call everyone myself at the last minute with the attorneys office griping at me that they couldnt get a response from her and about to close, literally minutes from closing for the weekend. Within only minutes to spare the docs finally arrived without any explanation.

He was an expert on all aspects of the loan process, and skillfully guided us through every intricate step. I would like to first say THANK YOU to Luciana and her team. They were extremely helpful and quickly responded to any questions throughout the entire process. I am completely satisfied with the support I received. Luciana was professional and never attempted to pressure me to make a decision. She just presented me the facts and explained the details. My experience with refinancing my home started with searching for the best mortgage rate across several different websites. My information was captured, and I was approach by at least 5 different Loan Originators from different companies. I was so lucky to have answered Luciana s call. I listened to everything she said and took notes and proceeded to compare the details to what the other Loan Originators had provided. I selected Luciana s quote from First Mortgage Direct for 2 reasons at this time. 1) best rate lowest cost. 2) I was told the loan would close fast. Now things get a little crazy I received unsolicited full estimated loan disclosures from 3 of the other companies trying to win my business even after I shared with each of these companies that I had chosen First Mortgage Direct. They were so persistent that I decided to share some of the details of what Luciana had quoted. The rate; how long my rate was locked; points and estimated loan cost. All three companies could not even come close to the same loan cost. Luciana s quote was more than half the cost of each of the other quotes. One of the companies even tried to persuade me to second guess Luciana by telling me there is no way she could be so low. They wanted me to be wary of last-minute changes that could happen at the closing table which would put their quote ahead of Luciana s. I was so excited to have connected with Luciana and her team that I shared my experience with friends and family and started comparing her quote to their recent refinances and learned that even their cost was at least 10% greater with similar rates and terms. I had to see this to the end. Huge Win for Me! I wish you and your team the best Luciana. I will continue to tell my story.

First Mortgage did not provide sign copies of all of the documentation to us. They also delayed the funding of our loan, after we signed all documents and wire transferred our closing costs. Their delay costs us more interest on our existing loan.

I could not have been happier with my experience with First Mortgage Direct and Stephanie OFarrell. I stumbled onto their website from looking at Zillow. At first I was a little skeptical because some of these mortgage lenders promise everything and deliver little in the end. That was not the case with First Mortgage Direct. You owe it to yourself to talk to First Mortgage before you make a decision. I highly recommend this company and in particular our loan officer Jason Stuber. Jason got us the best terms among all the lenders we considered--and we were at settlement before we knew it. This was the fastest and easiest refi weve done thanks to their use of e-signatures and automated appraisals. I would at least contact First Mortgage before you lock in to see if they can beat your best deal.
