***UPDATE: Shortly after writing the above review, Veterans United sold my mortgage loan to ServBank, who has managed to make numerous errors to my mortgage account, such as NOT applying 'principal only' payments to the principal, taking out a monthly payment BEFORE it's 'Autopay' due date (& several other errors) & NOT correcting those errors in a timely manner. I am VERY upset & unhappy with both companies, but more so with ServBank.

Veterans United was the absolute best choice we made when it came to choosing a loan. Being a veteran it was important to me that we worked with a company that has Veterans backs. Daniel, our loan officer, was amazing. He made the process painless and very simple. I never had to worry whether or not I could reach him if we had questions. He was there anytime we needed him. Our realtor Yadeth was exceptional. She also was there for us and continues to be anytime we need her. If you are a veteran and you are thinking about buying a home I strongly suggest and recommend going through Veterans United. My wife and I could not be happier with the service and care they provided us. We closed on our house yesterday. The whole process took about 6 weeks. We were fortunate to find a house we loved rather quickly and from then on out, and even before Veterans United worked diligently for us. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could. I can't say enough good things about our experience. We are forever grateful.

The loan officer I had refused to work with down payment assistance. He had said that it was basically for me to figure out unless I wanted to apply for another loan through them for a personal loan. I tried to get a new loan officer and the manager called me and told me I had to work with the officer I already had.

I worked with Bill to get my mortgage. Bill gave me a good rate and explained what options were the best for me. Everyones situation is different and so its a good idea to talk to your mortgage officer. The portal is helpful to get all docs organized so that you know what docs youve uploaded. Alycea the transaction coordinator was very responsive. From beginning to end, the entire process took me about 5 weeks to close my new home. Thank you.

I worked with Amber Brown and her team. As a veteran and first time home buyer, they patiently explained the home loan process and checked on me and my family at regular intervals. I was pre-approved for a house within a day and was able to get an offer into my future family home. Veterans United is amazing actually! But when I got the chance to refinance in February 2024 to reduce my interest rate after closing on my first house just 7 months prior, they sold my loan to be serviced by a company called NewRez. This company has multiple class action lawsuits and 1.3 star google rating. 1.3!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my home buying experience with VU but cannot ever recommend them to other veterans because you may end up getting sold and serviced by NewRez who has charged me late fees fraudulently TWICE and completely messed up my escrow account to the tune of $1100!! RUN!!!

Turned into a pissing match when we decided to go with a different lender trying to get our appraisal transferred. They would not release our info to another lender that we requested over and over and over again. Do better.

Veterans united got me a fully underwritten approval and helped me through a very hard time finding a home in this crazy market. Ginny was awesome and remembered that I am a Detroit Lions super fan and they sent me two glass beer glasses with the Lions logo and my last name etched into them. They just showed up at the house one day. My agent got me a Lions throw blanket to go in my brand new man cave (The Lions Den).. I would definitely recommend Veterans United to all my brothers and sisters in arms. You have a very happy SSgt. Over here

Gave us the run around and didnt want to work with us, they didnt communicate very well. I would email and tell one loan officer my paper work and 2 weeks later another would ask for the something because the first forgot to put it in the system, it was a mess. We have since went with a different lender and the process is smooth sailing

Toby was very helpful throughout the process! He and the team made me feel like I was sitting kneecap to kneecap along the way instead of like an obligated phone call. The fact that these ratings can only go up to 10 is my only dissatisfaction with this home buying process. From where I began this process, the only knowledge I possess is Lots of money and big words everywhere to having a detailed explanation and understanding of many of the steps to utilizing VA benefits, using the VA home loan, and other universal steps to buying a home, Veterans United, Heidi, Nicole, and the rest of the team have given me more support than I ever had thought possible. I cannot recommend Veterans United more even if I was given 100 years to invent new words to describe how supportive the team I was placed with had been. Overall we are extremely satisfied with everything. Process was easy, streamlined and easy to understand. Everyone was great and only issues I can come up with are super minor. I thought the To-Do Process items could have been quicker, but I was getting them done as soon as they posted and was eager for the next Item, so I was a bit impatient. Our Realtor Angie was great only negative I can give, again nitpicking, she got hung up on the pest inspection and I had to help get that complete so we could close but she worked hard to get it completed. I would defiantly recommend the team and Veterans United to others.
