How is it you denied me an account via letter when I have absolutely nothing bad on my credit reports. Says to comtact another agency in Dallas, TX and the letter even says there is no particular reason why. If you dont know why but made a choice based on your personal opnion of yes or no that is a poor justification. Passing the blame saying you dont have a reason & cannot explain why is the type of business decision that will ruin you with lomgtime faithful customers. Our economy is bad people need help not excuses. If you want to be jerks about it just say. Otherwise choose better business partners because there is no reason why I should need to speak to anyone else.

This happens here everytime I use the drive-thru to conduct business: there is NO greeting or acknowledgment of my presence, NO interaction and certainly NO Thank You or Have a nice day! When I pressed the call button, I was admonished that the receipt was on its way! That wasnt my question and I will NEVER use that branch again! There is something wrong there because the branch on University Ave. is always cheerful and other drive-thru locations that Ive used are courteous and pleasant! Avoid Lafayette at all cost!

I have been a member at Affinity in Eagan for well over 10 years. I have always had great experiences both in person, and on the phone. My most recent transaction was with Lydia from the St. Paul location. I phoned the 800# listed on the website, needing help with my adult daughters accounts, as they were traveling abroad and were unable to access them despite notifyingthe bank prior to leaving. Lydia did everything she could to ensure a great experience, both for me and my daughters. I really appreciate the kind professional nature she used to handle my problem as expeditiously as possible!

Its amazing when you finally are able to get your first big loan , you work so hard to get your credit where it is and you see the great reviews this Credit Union has . It is reassured to me the difference between reading other people reviews and actually getting the opposite service . I applied for a loan to see if I would be pre-approved. I also became a member like they asked for me to be able to go Ford with the loan . I get an email of them requesting my legal statues on as I have Daca which is legal residency o legal immigration. Statues to live here, work and study, I eveny pay taxes for our beautiful city of saint paul. I sent over my SS CARD and work ID . And still they asked for a passport of the country I came from when I was 6 years old . Note Minnesota is my home the only thing I know . And asked for a visa . Saying its in their policy . I never know that discrimination or a policy having to do with my residency was actually a thing. Therfore I asked for an email copy of their policy . I spoke with Kimberly Ostad on this matter which her supervisor , I dont recall her name at the moment called me. Instead of letting me read their policy she called me . I politely explained everything and asked her for the policy an email that never arrived . Not only that I asked her if theres anything she was willing to do for that matter, she said no I politely told her theres no more calls needed since we can go on with the loan . I HIGHLY SUGGEST DACA RECIPIENTS to no use this credit union . Waste of time and ignorance in the policies . Daca recipients are legal immigrant who didnt have a choice to live here but made this country home . A credit union that has no knowledge on those statues should not be open . And many may disagree but I will place a discrimination card on this . Its sad and like I said any DACA RECIEPIENT go get a loan at another Credit Union . I recommend Spirit, or Hiway. Event the metropolitan of Saint paul credit union .

I have been a member for over 10 years and never had a problem until today. Last fall I received a loan for debt consolidation to help my credit card debt. This winter my daughter died unexpectedly and I used my credit cards to help pay for her funeral and other house hold bills while I was grieving my loss. I called today to talk to the banker who helped me in the fall to do another debt consolidation and I explained that my daughter died and I used my credit cards for her funeral and household bills while I was unable to work. I wanted the loan for a lower interest rate. The bankers response was he will not approve my application and I need to take a budgeting course . Ummm I wouldn t be in this situation if my daughter didn t die. It would be nice if your employees could show a little compassion and keep their comments to themselves. A simple no would of suffice.

Left my debit card in the ATM and forgot it so I had to report my card lost. I called and reported it and came in in-person to this location to get a new card. I was in and out within 5 minutes! Great customer service as well. Overall great experience!

Car loan rates that used to be competitive are much higher than other credit Union rates now. Do not purchase their GAP insurance if they offer it - drunk driver totaled our car and after downloading 11 documents to get a small deductible refund they are still working on a decision. Because their rates were higher - we also missed a $1000 that could have been applied to a new loan through them due to our totaled vehicle. I have been a member for 35 years or so - I would not open accounts at Affinity Plus now. Try other credit unions that have better customer service and lower more competitive rates. Their fundamental listening skills are lacking and their overall lower customer feedback reviews do not matter to them. Do your banking somewhere else.

They didn t update online to show they weren t open today. Just drove 20 minutes to find out based on a piece of paper on the door after double checking online to make sure they were open. Was going to open a checking account, second guessing that now if they can t even bother to update whether they re closed on a holiday.

I just recently began banking with Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, and I have to say it s been a great experience! I was also able to take out a fixed loan with low APR to purchase a new vehicle. I am very impressed with their customer service and the the overall institution. I had previously banked with Huntington Bank, and boy oh boy am I oh so glad that I finally took to leap and made the switch. I d recommend Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union to anyone who s in the market for a new banking institution.

We moved to West St. Paul and needed a new bank. My son recommended Affinity to me and I opened an account. The people there could not be nicer!!! I have gone into the bank a few times since and everytime I have a wonderful experience. I now would recommend them to anyone.

This bank will not allow me to direct deposit part of my paycheck into my wifes account. Unless I am added to the account. Our other banks do not have this issue. This same bank wouldnt allow us to deposit a check from our insurance made out to both of us, with both of us present. I have never had these problems with any other bank. We were told to deposit into my account and withdraw the money to deposit into her account. What?

If I could give them Zero stars I would. My husband was just profiled and basically refused service when he stopped in to open an account. My husband owns a barbershop, so I m assuming because of his street clothes and his color he was profiled. He only has one day a week to do any type of errands because of the nature of his business. He was looking to open another account at a different financial institution in hopes to expand his business. I was called back by the manager Tasha who said she spoke to her employees that mentioned they tried to service him but they were busy, offered a few other times that didn t work. This is a business that literally thrives off holding people s money yet they couldn t simply ask what days worked for him? Or of course give him some resources to Schedule? When the branch manager called us back she still didn t offer to schedule an appt. we are switching our business to wings financial. I urge others of other ethnicities to do the same. Apparently only people who look Caucasian can bank here.

Kelsey was awesome with getting everything organized and sent off in a quick manner, answering any questions and keeping us up to date on the process. We have banked with a national bank for over 15 years and this is the first time an overwhelmingly positive banking experience has made us consider switching to a credit union.

I am always treated kindly, quickly, and with the utmost customer care at Affinity Plus. Since Covid, I utilize their drive thru services which everyone is patient and understanding but the wait is less than 30 minutes depending on the time of day. When I use the bank by app system they are detailed in giving updates or notifications to customers as soon as they can. This is the only bank I know that works with you and wants you to be the best financially as you can be.

I really like Affinity Plus until I refinanced my mortgage with them. Their online banking does not allow you to make additional principal payments to your mortgage. Instead, youre forced to call each time, which is pretty frustrating when youre on hold for 20+ minutes waiting to talk to a representative. All other banks Ive used in the past allowed you to easily do this online. Each time Ive brought up the lack of this feature in the past 11 or 12 months, I hear that its a common complaint and is being looked into.

wow I called to deposit 25,000 into a money market account an got a snotty person on line- unhelpful and when i asked for his help he told me to go on-line and hung up on me. One week later- talked to a rep at the bank. She apologized and so I opened MM account. Now I cant transfer my funds. I am on hold FOR EVER waiting for someone. This is a joke. No one helps, they apologize but still dont fix the issue. There is no way to talk a human being with out being on their annoying 800 call and wait and wait and wait.

Ive been so disappointed by my credit union lately. Ive been a member for 20 years. Recently I had an unauthorized charge on my account. First they proceesed things incorrectly then closed my credit card without checking with me to see if I had something going through. I had a insufficient funds from another account because of this. I was reimbursed but what a mess. Always on hold forever when I call. They were supposed to send a lien release but failed to follow through with contacting the dealership as I was promised. Just very frustrating as they used to be so great. I miss going into the branch as service was much better.

I just have to say, i was hesitant being a first timer applying for an auto loan however Jane J. helped me through the entire thing! via email!!!! This is by far one of my best experience with a bank. Jane was thorough, she is responsive! I hope i wasn t too annoying. lol. Reading through the reviews, I was surprised at some of the comments. Never had problems with online banking, deposits have always been completed promptly, online support always helpful and just had wonderful service on a refinance of our house. Our rate is now 6 points below what we were paying and are saving just about $800 a month.

I dont like to give bad reviews but it needs to be said so others dont get treated the way I did. Ive been with affinity for over ten years and never really had an issue. Since I didnt do much but use the checking account and got small loans. Today I am sorry to say, this bank has let me down. My first issue is with Corinne, the lady that took over two weeks to open up my business account. Is this a normal time frame to open a business account? We patiently got through that and finally got to the point of getting a small loan. Here again two weeks go by and Im still not getting anywhere. Is this obvious that there is a trend? Towards the end I called and got the response that they are finishing up final numbers. I waited over the weekend and waited until Tuesday afternoon and called again. This time I got the excuse that the gentleman working on it was sick. Has anyone ever heard that before. Is excuses a trend with this company, can anybody see this? Needless to say, I told Rory the gentleman working on my account to stop. I will take my business along with all my accounts and all my familys account to a bank that will take care of me.

I have never been introduced to such misogynistic practices as this bank has imposed. They wouldn t deposit a check without my HUSBAND on the account. He had endorsed it; not good enough, then he came TO THE BANK with me; not good enough- they wanted his name on my account to be able to deposit the check. I was able to get the check deposited Only When my husband said I was closing out my account and we were finished with Affinity Plus. Then the manager said it could be deposited, and she fixed it, albeit with very lame excuses that didn t acknowledge the insanity of previously requiring his name on my account. They also sent me through hoops by trying not to allow me to change my name on the account (To my married name) without our marriage certificate. I have a valid state ID with me with my married name, having supplied it to the state already. So, I could CLOSE the Affinity Plus accounts, and reopen one with my ID that I already have, but I needed special permission to eventually get it changed without the marriage license and just with my legal ID. In the end, they did the right things, but only when my husband was there to be just as mad as I was. I will keep banking here in the meantime, since I have CDs etc. and I will review again in a year or so, hopefully with more positive things to say... Just words of warning to anyone who wants to keep their finances independent from their husbands...

This Credit Union is the best, let me tell you why. Theres individual financial counseling and credit counseling. People who have money troubles or trouble figuring out their finances will have those problems anywhere. But if your are a responsible adult and get into a jam you are treated as an individual and not just a black and white we dont care. Yes you will have to wait in line on a phone call service, that is normal anywhere, and especially during these times when theres less person to person contact. Thank you for helping me fix my credit and score some points!! Which I use for gift cards!!!!!!

Horrible customer service. Always at least a 10-15 minute wait when I call. Don t plan on doing anything during a work break! Awhile ago the recording playing on hold said the wait was due to new systems & training. Since then, things have gotten worse, much worse. If there are always at least 10 members on the line ahead of me, can t they just hire another person at the call center? The call center is also cra-cra. No sooner are you celebrating the fact a person actually answered, than you realize this person can t help you and has transfer you because they re a clueless call center! You re better off keeping your money in a coffee can buried in the back yard.

I have all my accounts, car, home, checking etc. with Affinity and I wouldnt have it any other way. Their app is so easy to use and the updates are great. I do very little banking with this organization, thankfully, and only have the account as I had a motorcycle loan through them. When it call me time to sell the bike both myself and the company that bought the bike received an incorrect payoff amount, resulting in a net loss for me on the sale, and I had to pay the difference out of pocket. When I asked for an explanation I was told someone would call me. No one ever did, until someone from their collections department contacted me to collect on the amount owed. I explained that I had asked someone to contact me with an explanation as to why the discrepancy (the company that bought the bike also received the incorrect amount from them, and sent them an additional payment to get the lien release, which Affinity sent to them prior to informing me there was still an amount owed). I left her a voicemail the same day, as well as sent her proof of both payments from the company as well as a copy of the lien release on their letter head. Two days later they reported the payment as late to the credit bureaus. I called and inquired about this as I had provided all documentation and was informed by their representative Ashley (wonderful service and exceptional follow up, despite the circumstances) that the payoff amount was still ~$200 more dollars, and that if I paid it the back office would retroactively apply the payment to my account and update my credit report. Despite what appeared to be blackmail I elected to pay the amount to avoid any negative impact to my credit. I was assured that it would all be handled and that my report would be updated. I received a notice 2 months later that there was an update to my report from them and that the account was closed, however the updated payment info was not applied, so the payment still looked late. I contacted Ashley and she contacted the back office to have it adjusted, which it finally was. Despite this previous fiasco, I decided to try their business banking as they are close in proximity to my business as well as my home. During the initial account opening process their representative, Tony Q, asked extremely intrusive questions under the guise of being a small credit union - including asking for a full list of customers. I quickly took my business elsewhere and closed my personal accounts as well. I have been banking with Wings Financial for several years and highly recommend them over Affinity any day of the week.

Affinity plus made clerical error that caused my credit score to drop tremendously. Ive been a member for over 10 years, Affinity plus wont return my calls to resolve the issue. Its been 3 weeks since I first called them about the issue, every time I call I get the same answer: Im going to look into it and call you back.

Been with them for over 5 years and recently I feel the customer service isn t the same as it used to be. The used to be so help and follow up. Now they just don t really care, I referred my younger sister and they lady rep that assisted her. Entered in her DOB, incorrectly she couldn t set up the online banking due to this. We went back for a credit card, so she can build her credit. The guy Rep stated she was approved and she would get it in the mail in about 7-10 days. It s been well over a month. She has emailed them and no response. I called about the rewards program and so much has changed for the better but I feel like all the new changes aren t good. Then in my loan I have auto pay, granted this one was partially my mistake. So I rushed to the atm, deposited money. Made the payment the same day. Then 3 days later the payment was taken out again. So I had to call and get is resolved, which they did. But stated their new system doesn t recognize when payments are manually made. Thinking about switching credit union, more negatives than positives over the past year.

I dont know what else to do. Ive emailed twice, mailed, faxed twice, and given a paper copy of my insurance declaration to a teller. They keep putting forced placed insurance on my loan and when I show proof of insurance they wont refund my money to my account, they put it back onto the loan which is stealing as far as Im concerned. So beyond fed up with their version of service.

I highly recommend this place the costomer service and quality of service is the best compared to a bank like Wells Fargo or us bank I have had accounts with them before joining affinity plus. I like there rewards point system that you can use for free checks and fee reversals and skip a credit card payment. There is no minimum deposit. All you need us $10 for a manatury member savings the $10 you can not use but you can add to the savings and use anything over the $10 and the interest on $10 is one cent. I usually like Affinity Plus and have used their services for years, however, the biggest thing to note is that your customer service and your approval/denial on loans depends on who you work with (my family frequents the Lafayette location). On more than one occasion, Ive seen approvals and denials based on the judgment of the loan officer and not credit and other qualifying information. A family member was also outright lied to about being approved for a loan and then when the situation escalated to a supervisor, they were told about what typically can be done with loan approvals... suggesting again that loans happen primarily at the the discretion of the loan officers. Affinity is excellent for banking purposes, but is truly inconsistent when it comes to the auto/personal loan services.

I am a member since 2012 and I love Affinity Plus. I was able to secure an auto loan with unbelievable apr (and I was only 22 when I got approved). Also, the Moorhead branch is super friendly - its almost like a family. Every time I go there, I get greeted by my first name, well my review just quite doesnt explain how personalize and friendly the experience is. I love my small, cute little bank.

They say you can start an account online - but they never sent the paperwork to be notarized and then want me to come in to a branch to prove who I am. Very concerning as Ive got excellent credit and stable. Communication is lacking! I wish I had the same experience the 5 stars had - I was really looking forward to a good relationship

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT. I love, and I mean I love the Roseville branch. One of the best member advisors is Jared Goertzen My girlfriend and I have had several loans threw this branch.... We try to refer friends and family there, but most people already go here! If your doing banking at a bank? Your doing it all wrong. This company works for you and there rates are un touchable The one thing I love? They will make any kind of payment plans you want, weekly, monthly, etc. If you dont believe me? Thats fine, but go try them out, and give them reviews after your awesome experience happens!!!! Great job Roseville affinity!!!!!

Hours of operation are extremely inconvenient for someone who works Monday-friday 8-5. This causes people to pile in on Saturdays making sure the wait is 45 minutes to speak with someone in person. Very frustrating and very disappointing for a bank that prides itself in its customer service.

Ive been with Affinity for probably 10 years now. All my dealings with them have been positive. I was disappointed that they dont offer VA home loans, but aside from that, Id recommend them to anyone. They even credited my account after I made an error and bounced several checks. Good luck doing that at a big bank! Im sorry to see some negative reviews about them. I dont see any details in them explaining why they were dissatisfied.
