Waited several minutes while three bankers laughed and talked amongst themselves. After they dispersed I was approached. I said sorry I don t have an appointment could you help me. He said sorry we re pretty busy today check with the tellers for an appointment as he walked away. Stuck around long enough to watch the same three reconvene. You sure don t look busy.

Affinity has been a great bank but their app makes it extremely hard to check on balances. I cannot even login to my account because they constantly need to send a two-factor authentication code. Also, their mortgage officers are incompetent and will reject your application before even reading all of the details first. I had the worst experience here and decided not to pursue a mortgage with them after being on the receiving end of racial discrimination from one of their employees. I checked all of the qualifications for being a first time home owner but the mortgage officer denied my application because she couldn t spend two minutes reading through my employee history. She tried to apologize after the fact but it was too late Affinity is not a bank for first time homeowners. You can be serious about pursuing a mortgage with Affinity but they won t value you as a person especially if you re a minority. Also, make sure to check your balance or submit any transactions before traveling internationally because Affinity forces customers to verify their logins via text or phone call 3+ times/week. If you do not have an international plan, then consider yourself out of luck.

The level of this bank has gone down so much. Its a letdown. You lost the chance at my new mortgage due to just go on line but you are about to lose my business accounts too for go do it on the app I dont need you as a bank, I came to you because you use to be better them every standard bank I had a person to talk to, i could get things done in a timely matter unlike many other banks. But if its just going to be go talk to our robots. Im going to leave.

My wife has been a customer at Affinity since she was a teen. She raved about the company and their unmatched services. On Saturday we went in together to discuss options for a new savings accounts together after recently getting married. The customer service here deserves 0 stars. Actually, negative stars. It took tellers/bankers on average 30 min per person. (This is not an exaggeration) During our time in line (40 Min) one older gentleman lost his cool and loudly expressed how bad the customer service was before walking out the bank. To make matters worse; you could see a couple bankers smile and chuckle as if they found humor in the outburst.The branch manager and or supervisor should be fired for the unprofessional behavior and leadership. These behaviors are clearly taught! An experienced professional knows a simple thank you all for your patience. We are working hard to get to each and every one of you as fast as we can. Would go a long way. The line in my opinion was not the issue, it was the obvious lack of care for customer that was visible by multiple bankers. When you see several customers visibly frustrated, you step up and take action. I will be closing my account and keeping my business at another local credit union. Affinity leadership needs to step in immediately and make changes.Do better!

I am a member of this bank for the past 10 years, now that my wife wants to open her account, I tried to schedule an appointment so that my wife can open an account in Affinity Plus! This is my 3 attempt to get an appointment! It looks like they are least interested to open an account! Staff members were rude, and was telling us to come back later as they will have to go for lunch! I am being super patient at the moment! If I see their behavior is not improving, I might move to a different bank!

I have banked elsewhere for the past 20 years. Never felt much of a personal connection as I did here. Showed up here today and felt so impressed with the staff and atmosphere. I was able to work through what I came in for immediately rather than someone reading off a website telling me stuff I already know. Thank you for your help today.

I recommend avoiding Affinity Plus if you value your time. If you work a 9 to 5 type job, it s impossible to make it to a branch while they re open. The teller line, including the drive up, is incredibly slow every single time I ve been here.

Pretty good bank, but I only give them 2 stars because they are impossibly slow. If you go there with the intention of interacting with the tellers you better have at least half an hour to kill. And dont even get me started about their genius decision to remove teller stations at their Roseville branch and replace some of them with ATM stations where there was never a wait for that to begin with.

Sometimes, I ve received little drawings, stickers and treats - today the teller gave me a little candy, and told me i m a peach (it was peach flavored candy) Thank you for making my day!! i will always come to this affinity :)

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the service I received from your organization. At first, I was blown away by the amazing service and the good rate on an auto loan. I was impressed by the flexibility and well-qualified, friendly, and intelligent staff. However, my recent experience has left me feeling let down and disheartened. Over the past several weeks, I spent a considerable amount of time searching for a car and visiting dealerships. After finding a car that I was interested in purchasing, I went to the in-person store and asked for a check to buy the car. Instead of matching the JD Power value of the car, as I was told by the two prior people who helped me get my auto loan, I was informed that you would pay over $1,000 less than the value and charge me an over $2,000 down payment on a $10,000 car. Additionally, my interest rate went up unexpectedly. To make matters worse, the employee I worked with in person was unfamiliar with your company and how things worked. She told me many things that ended up not being true or holding up when her leader came to help. This only added to my frustration and confusion. As a result of this experience, I feel like I wasted my time and money searching for a good car, only to be met with this disappointing outcome. I feel like your organization used bait-and-switch like tactics to lure me in and then went back on your word, which is unacceptable. I will certainly leave a review to warn others to be wary of your practices. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve your service in the future.

I am incredibly impressed with the level of service Affinity has provided from day 1. Ive worked in community/private banking for 28 years. Ive had accounts at several banks and credit unions over the years. The level of service they provide is top notch. The video call option to open accounts, conduct business, ask complicated questions, etc is gold. They follow through. I received a voicemail from them recently about an issue with my account that no other bank would have bothered with. #1!

I waited in a very long line (being one of those people on Friday 20 minutes before closing time) and when I was finally helped, the girl I was being assisted by was in such a positive mood and so funny. Very personable and I wish I knew her name. She is blonde that s all I know. She was very kind and patient and the bank was closed at this time. Most people are crabby at this time, best bank experience I ve ever had.

This is the 3rd review I ve edited on this Roseville location in a 10 year span. The wait is ridiculous! I waited in line for 10 minutes just to get checked in to wait over another 10 minutes to open a checking account. They have no priority or organization as far as customer service. I will be going to the St. Paul location from now on. If you have an hour or more to spare then come to this unorganized location! got here a little after 1pm leaving at 2:55p!!

Would give zero stars if I could, but basically this place flagged a bunch of checks as fraudulent and closed out the account, but still kept the money from the paychecks. Idk how this even happens, but apparently thats the time of place this is. Update: After screaming at one of their employees, they finally reached out to work the employer to investigate the situation. Still dont have the money back, but things look more hopeful. That being said, I am disappointed I had to resort to being nasty in order to get assistance with the situation. My partner tried without being nasty, but it didnt work. Once the money is back, I will upgrade the rating to two or maybe three stars.

WORST customer service EVER Can not give zero stars. Had to interrupt a nice lady at her desk to get help as the clerk station for appointments was empty. When called over for help the guy called the name and walked away from us. Not waiting for my mother in her walker a 40 year member of the credit union. When we sat down, he never said Hi, never introduced himself, was not even friendly towards the member. I explained what we were there to set up so I could be added to her account and he stopped me and rudely said. I need to hear from her. I politely stated she has cognitive issues and I was protective of her. He rebuted me and said I am here to protect too. I asked to see someone else as clearly this person was not in a customer mood. We are closing her account. She was more upset then I was. Cant contact the branch to speak with anyone, they only give you a robot. Update: chatted about the experience with my mother over dinner. She is still shocked and upset at how rude and pretentious the person was. If you want to see what is wrong with customer service nowadays, visit this branch.

I waited in the Drive-through for nearly one hour at a dead standstill. The other lane was moving but not real fast either. This isnt the first time this has happened to me. They need to either hire and train people who are more efficient at their job or be out here directing traffic so people dont need to wait this long. Its ridiculous!

Sat in the drive-thru for 25 mins for one car in each lane. Thats ridiculous! Those two cars in each lane should not be doing troubleshooting of their accounts in a drive-thru lane at 430pm on a Friday afternoon. I like the products offered here but wait times using the drive thru or in the lobby continue to be ridiculous. Not every transaction can be handled at the ATM or thru mobile deposit. For the past 18 months lobby access has been limited yet I wait no less than 25 minutes in the drive thru EVERY TIME I have to come here. Please, please find a way to make talking to a person more accessible! 6/6/2022 update: Wait time at Drive thru continues to be unacceptably long.

You need a minimum of 45 min to kill if you go to the Snelling location. Maybe 30 if you go inside. They were sluggish before the pandemic. Now its just repugnant. They need to hire more tellers and streamline their expedition process. To do this well, they probably need to pay their tellers better - its likely hell to work so hard for lines of irritated customers. Go somewhere else. Addendum: I got here at 1:29pm. Was finally at the drive through console at 2:15pm. Was finished at 2:22pm. The customer in the parallel line was saying to her teller that shed been waiting for 47 minutes. Shes still there.....

Great experience, great rates. More locations would help though as they are bit far from where I live. Great customer service. Happy overall :-) EDIT: The above was in the past. Since then customer service has become much slower. Also, Ive had several issues when customer service tole me one thing and then later it costed me money and they wouldnt do anything about it. Overall, before they were really customer oriented and had very few fees and many rewards. Right now I noticed they became much more greedy (maybe theres another reason = more costs?) and now Ive been charged ridiculous fees. (Ive had $35 fee for $1 overdraft). At this very moment Im switching banks as their online system started to nag me with text one time code and that system does not even work for me anymore - I have to call them to log in. Nope! Not reasonable. Seriously I wish you guys went back in time when you really were the best!

The wait time to ask a simple question at the Roseville, MN location is ridiculous. I ve never waited less than 30 minutes to talk to someone and usually it s closer to an hour. They have a massive branch with only three bankers and never just normal tellers (unless you want to go through the drive through), so even if you just want to deposit money inside, you end up having to wait. When you do finally get to speak to someone the customer service is fine, but nothing over the top extraordinary. If you re looking for a quick bank run, run the other direction because you certainly won t get that here.

Ive never had an issue with my bank. Ive been a loyal customer my whole life. But I think its pretty ridiculous that theyre now only open until 4pm Monday through Friday. I can only go in and speak with someone or have service with an actual teller if I take off work. I work during their business hours. I feel like this is a HUGE disservice to their customers.

Just remember this, it was you who exited your vehicle in a threatening manner to all. It was you who was pacing about in every direction. Remember, it was you and none other. You were in a yelling, screaming mode and cussing away as if ready to kill and/or maim. No! You were absolutely in the wrong and out of line for being in line. Yes, it is taking longer than usual for all to endure during this unprecedented time. Most longer business was conducted indoors and quick deposits/withdrawals were in the drive-through. Now, we all must conform to reality of the times including you. The manager was absolutely correct in reprimanding your behavior. According to your statement, she did not reprimand you as a person, but rather at your behavior. The rest of the public will remember you as the person who was wrong on all counts. Remember this in your future, because your actions will demand consequences and/or rewards.

Horrible experince with this bank. Waited over hour in drive through. The car in front of me took over 35 minutes and still hadnt got his transaction done. After being trapped in the drivethrough for over a hour i had to get out if car to ask why we were stuck waiting in line. With cars backed up behind and front, i had no way to leave when pasengers in the car started to have medical issues i had to get out to ask what was going on. Finally a bank manager came to ask what was wrong. I Was asked to pull around so they could finish transaction. I said thank you and pulled around. The bank manager then came out to tell me that it was unacceptable to get out of my car. I then told her it was unaaceptable to be waiting over ahour total amd 35 min for the car in front of me. No apology for the wait, cut me off mid sentence and just was and scolded by the manager and she would nt even listen to why it was unaceptable for me to wait. Do yourself a favor keep your money with a bank that respects its patrons...wont do any more loans or business with this clown ran bank

For the most part customer service is outstanding! The tellers and office staff a very friendly and very personable. They make you feel welcomed. I mentioned above that for the most part service is outstanding. However, I did have an incident with, I believe, upper of managerial staff. I wanted to find out how to do check deposit using my smartphone. She informed me that I should go home and get online to learn how to do it. I felt that was very insulting. I was in somewhat of a good mood that day, so I didnt vent on her. I believe if I ever had another run-in with her not only will I bring it up to the duty manager, but I will also VENT on HER!I. I have been with Affinity Plus going back to the late 1980s when it was still the Capital Credit Union. Thinking back all these years, I believe sending the tellers and staff to Nice People School has paid off. Although they may have been sent to Nice People School you can tell that the tellers and staff are sincerely friendly.

My family switched here from Wells Fargo about 4 years ago after ongoing service issues with Wells Fargo. Since then, I have been very happy with Affinity Plus. My banking is done almost entirely electronically, and their system has been very smooth. I also love the online chat, and have found customer service to be extremely helpful. Got superb rate on auto loan as well. Love this credit union, and will happily deal with the issues relating to a smaller bank to keep my money out of the hands of the big banks.

This is hard to believe that a company that has grown so much in the last few years and have advanced so little when it comes to technology. I really like this bank but it is getting difficult everyday to use this 19th century bank as my primary bank. This is 2018. NO ONE GOES TO THE BANK!!!! Still cant get it that how on earth they dont have ATM that accepts cash, Online banking where you can actually use, rewards program that actually makes sense. I am so disappointed.

You absolutely need a good credit score to open an account. Some loans and debts will hurt and affect your ability to obtain an account. With help you can get your score back on track and good enough to open an account which is nice but in some cases, it can take forever. Thanks but no thanks

The most misinformed and untrained, sometimes rude people I have dealt with yet regarding the death of a close relative who banked here and was a loyal customer for many years. Not only did they not know their own policies or processes, they told me completely wrong legal/financial advice, and then belittled me. For example, A higher up wrongly told me I should have known that I have to wait 30-60 days after a death to touch the bank account, then told me that I had to wait until AFTER probate was complete to access the account (not true, I have to access funds at some point to settle any debts, in order to file with the court to complete probate), and then told me that the state would contact the bank when probate was over and where and to who to send out money (probate can take a year plus, and its the precise legal responsibility of the personal representative, not the state, to alert institutions like Banks to retrieve money, close accounts, settle debts with creditors, and ensure beneficiaries receive any inheritance owed or begin claims processes on accounts with named beneficiaries), employees of the bank also repeatedly required me to come in again, in person with family members to begin the claims process for beneficiaries, but after getting there we found out there was no need for us to miss work to come in person and that the bank is fully capable of processing a claim on their own. No employee of a bank should be giving out false legal and financial advice, especially not wrong legal advice pertaining to a sensitive subject like the death of a loved one! In particular was a person names Teresa. Ended up escalating this to the general manager who helped and was actually knowledgeable and was accurate with what she stated, who then apologized for the misinformation her several employees gave me over the course of two weeks.

Ive been a customer here for about 3 yrs. It so far, my favorite place to keep my money. I also know that some of the people who work for Affinity Plus can be also rude too but, i cant blame them. There always a bad sheep among the herd. Cant expect everyone to be perfect. My favorite person at this branch is Georgina Thompson. She made the refinance and deposit easy breezy. Kind and professional. Funny as well when her printer was acting odd. Handle it with humor. So for those who having bad experience with Affinity Plus just ask for Georgina Thompson or if it your first time. Ask for her anyway and save yourself a headache. Also Krista from the Coon Rapids branch is very professional and friendly too.

Ive been a member for 28 years and I Affinity. Ive had several car loans and a 2nd mortgage with them. The application process was so quick and easy I would never apply for a loan anywhere else. The only reasons I didnt give them a 5th star are 1. long wait lines at the Roseville location, 2. problems with the mobile application, and 3. no location in the east metro area.

Ive been with Wells Fargo and US Bank previously and wasnt a huge fan. I didnt realize I could truly be happy with my bank until I switched to Affinity Plus. They have convenient locations, a mobile app that you can transfer funds and deposit checks (just like the big banks), and some of the best customer service Ive ever experienced. If I ever have an issue they are quick to respond and happy to help. The only issues Ive ever encounteted were either an error on my part or a third party. I have an auto loan currently and will be using them for a mortgage as well. Also they have a great waiting area, which isnt terribly important, but convenient for people with kids or people who like to play chess while waiting. Ive never had to wait long, even for opening new accounts or loans. I highly recommend them to everyone I meet. When I worked retail, I would comment when I saw am Affinity bank card, and the customer would always gush about how much they love it. You should switch right now actually.

Had an account here over 5 years. There were some issues with my account. I chatted with a woman who wouldnt listen and couldnt understand. After getting nowhere with her, called branch manager. Very unhelpful, customer retention was not an issue, he gladly offered to close my account. Dont ask me twice, account closed!!

I have been a member with Affinity for 15 years. In 15 years, I have absolutely zero bad things to say about them. We have had credit cards, vehicle loans, and even a second mortgage, and have nothing but good things to say. In 15 years, I have never talked with anyone who hasnt been pleasant and helpful. So much better than a bank !!

So far my experience has been absolutely wonderful with APFCU. Theyre so polite and you can really tell the people want to help when and where they can.
