This place priced my diamonds bracelets / diamond earrings at a fairly low value, as compared to the other competitors in this area. The clerk also treated me like I was a crack head of some sort. He was very shaming and made me, feel uncomfortable. I came into the store in a good mood, and the clerk immediately shot that down with his bad attitude. I would not recommend this shop, and this was a terrible experience. If I could rate it this store, at 0 stars, I would!!!

I came in with a brand new pair of what I thought was AirPod Pro. Second generation definitely thought they were real. Was just curious to see what I could get for them since I don t ever use them this young gentleman named Alex helped me at the counter. He literally held them for about five seconds and said nope these are fake go get a second opinion I was like nowhere these fake. I looked up the serial number on Apple and everything. It was a real serial number. Everything looked super legit so I was like you know what I am gonna go get a second opinion sure enough I went to another pawnshop down the road and they to confirmed they were fake because each Earpod and the case are supposed to have different serial numbers and they all had a matching serial number. Let s just say I left shook these looked super legit. They were in the plastic wrap the box everything I ve never had a pair before so I really couldn t tell the difference. I guess that s what you get for buying something on the street trying to help someone out so they claimed all I have to say is Alex From max it really knows what he s talking about. He s very intuitive, educated and experienced and I will definitely be coming back to shop with him!! thank you Alex for educating me

I HAD CALLED maX It PAWN for a 20 or hire TV to plug in for work. The employee that goes by the name of DJ gave his pitch so I came in than looked at different ones than moved up to the line. The wonderful male employee said sir hold on we are kind of busy well be with you in a second. I said ok. When it was my turn to pull up this unprofessional ragged male that goes by the name of DJ stated that she was here first, I said no I was here first than he said I was not in line. This is THE worst pawn shop EVER !!! The store manager is terrible! I came into the location to ask about how much my pawn was the STORE MANAGER told me 322 and last day was 1/22 i come in 1/22 and it s 451. And she said it goes up per day! Why would she not inform me it was going up in 3 days if that was the case and the pick up bal would be 411. I hate i ever pawned with them. I literally only loan 200 dollars and now i paid back 411 and the ps5 they sale are only 400. I utterly hate this location and the store manager.. and I m referring to the stud not sure whether they go by him or her but John would ve atleast told me what me pickup price was going to be if he knew it was gonna increase by the time i picked it up!!

the new workers there are very slow.. they constantly change the store hours so after wasting gas driving there yesterday being they changed the closing time to 5 I went today on my lunch break to simply pick up and item which took around 30 minutes.. the black guy with the perm constantly needs help from the other guy making the transactions even slower! And the percentage is outrageous

I needed some serious help with my financial situation and the employees of maX it pawn came through for me 100%. Alex, Liz and other employees really looked out for me my alternator went out in my truck and I was struggling going to a new job and they helped me beyond help I was able to make it to my job with the loan they gave me for my things and they understood where I was coming from and I felt that they were very compassionate and were understanding and really helped me with my problem so I give the Cedar Avenue maX it pawn my props 100% And I think those people are cool as hell!

I went to maX it pawn to purchase aTV got it took it home and nothing work. called up. Drew answered told him what was going on. Saw my stolen car in front of this pawn shop. Lost sight of it after trying to drive after them. Went back to this pawn shop, stood in line, waited, and when it was my turn at the counter I asked if they could look at camera footage of the two men who took my car. The manager then yelled at me, No you may not! You are not going to come into here and disrupt my business! You can get in line and wait like everybody else!

My diamond in my wedding ring broke and I took it to another location for repairs and was not happy with the final results.(Not horrible but not to my standards) I talked to Steve the GM who did not dispute with me over the 1st repair. He put me in touch with Liz and I must say she went OVER AND BEYOND to get my wedding ring fixed perfectly. Ive been going to this place for years, before it got wrecked and robbed with my Game system never to be see again. Prices fair. Staff here make the smallest excuse not to buy your product. Touching an empty ziplock bag. Is not a reason at all to pass a sale. You lost me as a customer. Hire people that are looking to do the job, not just make a paycheck.

OK, so not gonna lie, totally a newbie when it comes to this whole pawn business and Bri was totally great! Totally answered my seemingly dumb and obvious questions and explained the process very eloquently and patiently. Even thanked me for my Marine Corps Service! What a joke! Arrived there at 6:23 pm believing that they would actually be open like there wwbsitr says. No such luck! Although there were employees there I was waved off from even entering the store because they were closed. Not the first bad experience I have had with MaxxIt Pawn. In general their employees tend to be rude and not very helpful. Update your stuff MaxxIt and maybe do a bit more customer service training with your employees!

*2020 UPDATE- Review is no longer relevant since this business was burned down in the Riots. Took them close to an hour to process a simple sale. It seems like the attendants are trying their best to delay every transaction through an un-charming small talk, lack of competence in inspecting simple devices, and a stammering explanation of their skepticism that the device might be stolen--something tells me the last part only applies to select ethnicities though.

Terrible service. Was in the shop today for at least half an hour, maybe 45 min. looking at watches. Was going to look at three watches. Was ready to buy the tissot prs 516(?) assuming the chronograph worked properly. Ill never know if that chronograph worked though, since nobody bothered to talk to me or ask if I wanted to see anything. The employees were clearly short handed and were helping other customers so I waited a while. Thats fine. Then I watched both employees go help other customers who had been in the store less time than me. One family had literally just walked in five minutes ago and was standing right next to me and they got helped first. BS. Look, its fine if youre short handed but at least help people in some kinda order. Especially if someone has been standing at the watch section for half an hour plus. I left frustrated at about 1:50pm 8/27/19. Gray shirt. Ill take my business elsewhere next time.

I enjoy checking out the local pawn shops every few weeks, and this store in particular is always on my list of stops. They have a good, uncrowded selection that sees some fairly decent turnover. Also, the customer service Ive received here really is second to none in the pawn shop world - Ive had a couple of experiences with them where the staff have been helpful and accommodating above my expectations ... Definitely a place to visit (and revisit) IMO.

We went in to buy a TV and a couple of other things. After standing at the counter for about 10 minutes with nobody coming to help we went up front to ask for assistance just to grab a TV we wanted to buy. We were told the only way was to wait in the line of people selling things. After another ten minutes of waiting in a line that hardly moved we just left. They had several people standing around but nobody wanted to take a few seconds to make an easy sale. They seem happy with buying stuff from people this time of the day, but showed no interest in selling anything in the back area that needed employee assistance. Would not recommend

Always understaffed and suuuuuper long lines, but decent besides that. Fairly friendly employees for a pawn shop (which means not friendly at all but not mean either).

I waited to buy items for 20min service was awful it wasnt even busy cashiers were unatintive very very bad service I will never go there again and I work next door

Some of these reviews are insane! Racist?! There are usually less white people working than other ethnicities! I visit this location frequently and it is hands down the best Maxit Pawn and its also my favorite pawn shop in the Twin Cities. I can understand if people are disappointed when they find out their items are less valuable than they anticipated but Ive seen customers act like children over the smallest things! The new manager (I forget his name but hes easy to spot with a beard and tattoos) makes it a fun and he isnt condescending or judgemental like many of the other places Ive been. I dont necessarily get along with every employee that works there and the line can be unpredictable but Its the same at all of the Maxit Pawns. As a retail employee, Im willing to bet that has more to do with their payroll budget because its not logical to believe that these employees actually enjoy it when theres a long line. Its a great location and as with anywhere you go, the experience can vary. I mean, the $1 DVDs alone make it worth a try!

I hate to even give them one star. My husband found something he wanted to purchase, but all 4 employees at the back counter only seem to be interested in taking in pawns instead of selling anything. After a while we left without ever being spoken to.

DONT SELL YOUR GOLD HERE THEY RIP YOU OFF !!!!! CLAIMING 10K IS THE SAME AS 14K ENDED UP GIVING 20$ ONLY FOR 2 GRAM 14K CROSS PENDANT IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED BUT IT IS THE LAST TIME. I needed the cash for Valentines day and was ripped off FOR A 2 GRAM 14K CROSS PENDANT Slow as hell and they rip you off. Sat in the store for an hr while the staff putssed around. Also braught in some gold and they wasted my time because even though its 14k they woildnt buy it although they advertise that they buy broken gold jewelry. Then i paid for the product protection on an item and they wouldnt honor it. They give same amount for 10k as 14k it makes no sense IF YOU SELL GOLD HERE MAKE SURE YOU WEIGH IT AND KNOW THE KARATS BECAUSE THEY WILL TELL YOU ITS LOWER KARATS AND WEIGHS LESS THAN IT REALLY DOES. After stopping at Excel Pawn in St Paul and having a bad experience, I went in to pawn a ring at MaxIt Pawn. We were helped by Josh and he was amazing! He offered to look at another piece just to give us information about it and was extremely nice and really cared. Not only that but they pawn a lot of other items that literally can be anything of value. They have a good pricing system and alot of items, from vintage to newer. I will definitely go back!

I understand the location theyre in isnt the best, but this place could do with watching what they take in. I doubt the massive amount of rims they have when you walk in get moved often. Id skip it if you plan on looking for hidden gems.

White, male Maxi-Pawn employee denied services to young bi-racial couple due to standing 6 - 8 passed the waiting sign where there were no customers. We waited for over 8 minutes. Employee antagonized black customer by verbally choosing only to do business with white female over his property being pawned. Employee facilitated a second-party sale or pawn and told black customer to leave the store while he and female conducted the transaction deliberately undermining the value of their brand new +24 chrome rims and mounted tires. They obviously needed the money.

Place is a joke. The employees are rude and condescending. I bought an amp from this joint for 250 bucks, I tried to sell it back to them that Poindexter looking mother f....r offered me 70 bucks to buy it back.. another time I was in there and they had an inspection from corporate. I heard another employee that they failed eveything NEVER EVER WILL I GO TO THIS JOINT AGAIN. THANKS POINDEXTER

My Experience with cedar max pawn has always been Exceptional customer service by management and staff they are ddown to earth i called today regarding my item Jesse answer was great conversation with him had me laughing so u not sure why ppl r sending bad reviews maybe it because u not able to get cash WHAT, u want anyway i would highly recommend cedar, max it great job max it Team

Wow. Waited 35 minutes to get 2 speakers tested. Then Im told I have to go to another line to pawn. Another 35 minutes waiting and they offer me $40 For both Yamaha NS5 speakers and a kitchenaid Artisan mixer with all attachments and manuals.

Poor customer service. Slow and way too much talkative staff. More interested in pawns then sales. Cant find discs to movies. Bad pawn shop overall.

Positive experience. I definitely prefer this location over the Lake St location. I sold a low-end dvd player for $10, a much more reasonable price than Lake was willing to give me ($5). The only setbacks were the wait time (though in my experience it was a universally average wait time for a major pawn shop) and the employee who worked with me. I should note that he wasnt rude at all, but did seem to be a bit out of it. Overall I definitely recommend this MaxIt.

NOT a rip off! Ive been going to MaxIT for over 2 years now and always gotten TOP $ for the stuff Ive brough in to them. Finally some real competition by real people, yes I said that, no more slap in the face offers!!! Take that Pawn America! The staff there is great too, youll love them. Thanks MaxIT!!!!

First off the customer service is horrible. I waited in line to sell an old guitar and they only had one guy working with the customers and the rest of the crew wasnt doing anything. The wait was forever cause the worker was having a conversation with a friend that wasnt a customer. The guy that appraised my guitar was a jerk and didnt know what he was talking about. It took him a couple minutes to find the only left handed guitar in a guitar rack of about 10 guitars and acted as if he was an expert guitar appraiser.

Much better than Pawn America. I got 25 more dollars at Maxit vs the other place when I went in to get a loan on some miscellaneous items. I walked out with a smile. The people I have dealt with seem willing to work with me. Thanks for not making me feel like a schmuck when I was there.

I purchased a laptop (199) about a week ago and bought their warranty for 16.00 extra dollars, in case there were any issues with it within 30 days i could return it. I purchased this solely to write essay papers for school, i didnt even hook up internet on it. It would lag and freeze up on me just by using word. When i brought it in today to return it, they would do a return but only for store credit. I was dealing with Chris the manager of the store who didnt seem to give two shits. We would happily have accepted store credit if we could use that credit to get our iPad on loan out but they wouldnt allow that either. He told me he could buy back our laptop for 80.00 and that was all he could do. Its complete bullshit. This pawn store will have now bought this laptop back 3 times, and will do it again when the next person buys it for their 100.00 mark up. What a scam. Will get my iPad out and will never return. Dissapointed with the way Manager Chris handled himself. He told us his business hasnt made any profit in the last three months. Im just going to assume the reason for that is because you rip people off. Good luck in your future, i hope you figure things out and seriously revise your return policy because its bullshit.

This is a terrible place to do business. Twice now the associates have pulled my items before their due date and selling them. The most recent situation happened Friday, February 15th, 2013 and their excuse was we apologize, we have a new system... saying that I would be able to put a different TV on layaway, but would need to pay full price, $200 MORE THAN MY BRAND NEW TV (STILL IN THE BOX) THEY SOLD. My boyfriends PS3 was also sold before his due date and the stores associates blamed it on the new system. This store definitely needs help as they have cost me personal items which had sentimental value to them. The associates have no remorse and do not own up to their faults. I have tried to file a complaint and have not gotten anywhere, but have followed up with the BBB. Max It Pawn is a COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!!
