American Rare Coin & Collectibles

Thank you American Rare Coin & Collectibles for letting me exchange my old and broken pieces of jewelry for cash. I only had a small amount to turn in but I was dealt with in a friendly and open manor.
Before going to ARCC I was able to get a quick Google education on the value of my items and, also I went to a local jewelry store to see what they would give me. At my Jewelry store visit, they took my items in the backroom, then returned with their quote and a vague explanation of how they came to their quote. At ARCC , I sat down at a desk and they checked current spot prices for different types precious metals that I had, weighed my items (in front of me), did some math then arrived at an offered price.
While ARCC gave me less than what I was hoping for, they gave me FOUR time what the Jewelry store offered. When I left, I was happy getting money for my old stuff and felt like I was treated in a trustworthy way.

Helping an estate monetize a silver place setting (with every piece ever needed) became fun with American Rare Coin & Collectibles. The senior staff worked professionally and quickly to weigh the eligible items and held back those not meeting the qualification. All the while, an enjoyable conversation was maintained about coins and collectibles, weather, and all sorts of things. This staff showed me the current silver quote and calculated the value down to the penny. Needing an additional okay from one of the members of the estate, I left to wait on that. When returning to ARCCs office to complete the deal after that okay, turns out silver had perked up two percent, so the check total was higher than expected. Of interest, American Rare Coin & Collectibles valuation yielded almost twice that of a multi-unit competitor who does business in this field. Safety is a factor, too. Turns out the security officers desk sits a few steps away from the entry door to the shop. This is a major tower in Bloomington along I-494. It is an A-grade facility. Plenty of traffic. The security professionals are very alert at this location (theres a major bank here) to who comes in and how they act. I suggest this is a big advantage. Also, the doors to the ARCCs business are secured; you are buzzed in. Safety is there. I want to go back and spend more time gazing at their silver and gold coins. They are beautifully displayed and seem as if they should belong to me. Im working on it.

The guy that went through my coins made me and my fiancé feel so uncomfortable. He wasn t welcoming at all and honestly seemed like he was annoyed by us being there. He barely said a thing to us and made little eye contact the whole time. When I showed him a big portion of the pennies I brought in he said in an annoyed voice you can take these to the bank as far as I m concerned. He continued being quiet for the rest of the appraisal until he got to the paperwork telling me how much he would pay and had me sign some paper work. He made me feel so anxious and uncomfortable. I just wanted to get out of there and I regretfully ended up selling my coins to him for much less than I would ve liked.. I won t be going back and I wouldn t recommend this place

This is the place to sell your coins, silver, gold & platinum bullion. Especially on a good price upswing. They update buy price on their website daily. Fast service and very knowledgeable. Obviously you wont get the same price as selling privately. But they offer sellers zero hassle or risk. Plus youre immediately paid in a check, that you can cash down the hall @ Wells Fargo.

I was thoroughly impressed with the people at American Rare Coins and Collectables and completely satisfied with all transactions. I took in old foreign and US coins as well as jewelry. They promptly introduced themselves and took an interest in the items I had brought in. They were knowledgeable and explained many interesting facts about the pieces and the time periods when they were produced or popular. When they had a question, they called over in-house experts in the fields who were able to quickly provide additional information to answer the questions. Ive been to American Rare Coin twice now, my 2 year old son with me both times. That fact frames my experience here more than any other factor. Parents know dealing with a rambunctious toddler is never easy, especially in a setting such as a coin shop. The first time I was there was a longer trip and my boy was getting restless. At no point did any of the employees make me feel bad about his not wanting to sit, even going as far as providing water and a snack to keep him occupied. I bought some S. Korean gold then. Next trip I had a gold bar of mine tested (no charge, thank you!) And when I was looking st some silver rounds my son reached toward the bowl and when I told him he couldnt have any, the employee who was showing me the silver gave my son an Eisenhower silver dollar. That sort of thing means more to a parent than I think most realize. And that level of customer service is what earns my repeat business and praises. Thank you, American Rare Coin!

I called to get some information before I brought my coins to be looked at and the lady on the phone was extremely rude. I know they might have been busy but I had questions. The lady I talked to didnt seem to want to give to much info on the coins or if they possible were worth more than melt down. She seemed to be stuck on only paying melt down price. When I mentioned that I had done some research on my own and that I had some that were protentional worth a lot of money, she got very short with me and no longer wanted to talk to me and hung up. I wouldnt ever bring anything to this place, I dont think from my conversation that they are honest at all. I checked on the melt down price of silver before I called and they were well below the price.

Lady was incredibly rude when I walked in asked me 3 times if I was sure about wanting a price almost refusing to sell to me she was very condescending and I will never go back I had money to spend and wasnt given the time of day horrible experience didnt end up spending a dime and never will there are plenty of reputable dealers around and thats where Ill be making my precious metal purchases NOT HERE!

I came in on December 12th, 2019 with a wide variety and a lot of coins. These coins were collected for over 85 years by my father. I worked with Daniel and not only did he give me great customer service, I received an education as he more than willing to answer my questions. I came in about 11:30 and it took 5 hours to go through everything. After we finished I realized that Daniel did not even stop for lunch. That to me is going over and above. The final result was over 5 times more than I expected to receive. One reason it that Daniel found that one coin that you just never know about, that you had. I had a silver dollar from the late 1800s valued at $1600.00. I highly recommend American Rare Coin & Collectibles.

The tiny man in the blue shirt was rude and condescending. He told me very shrewdly no one is going around gluing $100 dollar bills to coins among other comments. Really? Ya think?! I bought a few coins via auction from a seller with almost a 5-star rating and 8000+ reviews. They were/are (somehow, but it doesnt make sense after the coins I received) the best coin auction house on my preferred auction site. NOT Ebay, fyi. I did my research and thought I was ok, the pictures looked good but when I got the coins, I thought they looked cleaned. Being an armature collector, I looked to an expert to confirm or deny my suspicions. I wish I went to my second stop first. I couldnt leave fast enough. Ill never go back as long as that guy works there. What terrible customer service. You should be ashamed, sir.

I had a collection of coins and a few bills to be appraised. Old and new, some silver, some foreign, and none of it well preserved. I didnt have high hopes, but the guy with whom I met (sorry, I forgot his name; 5/7, 1030 appt) went through everything and gave it all a good look-see. In the end, the collection was organized so that I now know what is collectible, silver scrap, spendable, and just plain scrap. Very pleased. Thanks.

Took some misc gold and silver (first time ever) items of my dads who died about a year ago, into American Rare Coin & Collectibles. The woman at the front desk was very rude. It felt like I was bothering her or interrupting her. She sat me at a desk to wait for someone else to come. I waited a bit and then left. Maybe she was just having a bad day. First impression is everything!!! I went elsewhere and they were very happy to buy my things.

We were in a few weeks ago to sell my father in laws coin collection that was left to us. I must say, it was quite busy but we were greeted by such a delightful woman. I am sorry I didnt get her name, but she had the most fun glasses! She was so knowledgable and pleasent and helped us so much, along with the other staff that we worked with. Definately will return here if I need to sell/ buy, or even get advice.

I stopped into American Rare Coin a couple of weeks ago and even though it was quite busy, I was greeted and welcomed immediately by the office manager (if she isnt the office manager, she should be!) . . . I wish I could remember her name! Everyone was so professional and made me feel like I was the most important person there. Even though I ended not selling or purchasing anything on this particular visit, I will definitely be back and would highly recommend checking them out.

Ok, I was a bit nervous about checking this place out. I had some bracelets from an ex to get rid of. He had assured me they were real gold. The woman in the front of the shop was so kind and helpful! She explained the process, offered to get me some water, and then examined the bracelets. Turns out they were cheap junk. But the woman who helped me was so helpful and understanding, and funny too, that I almost didnt mind that the stuff was worthless junk! (My words, not anyone elses.) I would recommend American Rare Coin. Thank you!
