Every once in a while you come across a person who is truely special in all the important ways. Today my credit union teller, Patricia, was just that person! She has a Kind and gentle soul with a warm and beautiful spirit. She made what could have been a sticky and difficult transaction very effortless, comforting and thoughtful. She put me at ease with her every word and action. God does make some exceptionally special souls sometimes and True Community credit union customers are lucky to find one of them in Patrica!

I have had nothing but problems since the switch, my husband and I are now looking for a new credit union. I really wish everyone had voted no to this take over.
Update: After speaking to Deborah I’m willing to give them a chance. She asked what issues we’ve been having and once I told her she informed me of how they are working to fix them. I truly appreciate them reaching out to fix this seeing as I’ve been a member since 2016 and was really not wanting to find a new credit union.

I wouldn’t recommend switching to them if you’re thinking about it. I’ve been with them for ten years now. I used to love them and recommend them to everyone. Since they switched to a True Community, it’s been terrible. I’m trying to find a new bank because I’m tired of the issues and inability to get help when needed. It used to be a small-town feel when dealing with them. If you had a problem, you could call and speak to someone directly at the bank right away. Now, you get routed through a call center, where it never fails. You’re on hold for a minimum of ten-plus minutes, and you’ll have to call multiple times. Then, when you do get in contact with the call center, they can’t help you and say they’ll reach out to your local branch and return your call with an answer. Don’t get your hopes up if it is important because they won’t call you back. They changed their ATM withdrawal allowance, so you can’t pull as much out. When I finally was able to speak with someone after calling a half dozen times in a day, they said it wasn’t the case. It was just my card. That’s not true at all. I tried three different bank cards with them and three different ATMs. It’s my money, and I want access to it when I need to pull it. 10/10 don’t recommend them anymore.

I wish I could rate this place a negative 5 star. I was a Parkside cu member since 1990 and never had one issue. Now true took over and it's been nothing but a disaster. I am closing my account as soon as I find a bank I trust.

I absolutely hate this credit union, ever since Parkside merged with true I've had nothing but issues. My debit card been lto many times, trying to call to unlock it is an issue due to a language barrier, I'm a truck driver and can't be having these issues. Will be going elsewhere.

I miss Parkside. I see all these negative reviews about the wait time and a response saying our call center was super busy that week. That comment was 3 weeks ago.
Well, what about this week. I've called 3 separate times today and still no answer.
There's nothing more aggravating than not being able to take care of my banking issues.
I might have to follow suit with the other members and try another credit union.
Such a shame things had to change for the worse

I have been a member since I moved back to michigan in 2016 after my enlistment was up. Never had any issues that weren't resolved within a few minutes. Not true about "true community." Worst business decision you guys ever made. Between my wife and I, we have been on hold for over 6 hours trying to get these new "toys r us" cards activated and now that activation number doesn't work. Very disappointed in this bank. If this is what the future holds for this bank, I will be taking my money elsewhere. Also, get an american based call center. Not one that sounds like an Indian sweatshop in that background.

I normally do not take the time to ever do a review but this place frustrations me so much that I am making the time to write about it! I have had my new number for at least 1 year now. It took me 3 tries just to get the phone number changed, so I thought. I waited an hour and 14 mins, just for them to tell me they could not activate my new card because they still did not have the right number on file. I had to wait the next day to call the bank to have them activate my card and change my number, hopefully it is the right number. Then I said I still needed to set up a pin and the directed me to the wrong line that I waited another 35 mins just to find that out. Just to set up my pin had to call another freaking number and was on hold for 32 mins for them to tell me that my number still has not change and they cannot help me. Then had to call the bank back (on hold for another 24 mins)just for them to tell me to call the number on the card again! NOT HAPPY AT ALL! WAISTED SO MUCH OF MY TIME OUT OF MY LIFE!

Theresa Tafoya helped me with a dispute that I had been dealing with for over 3 weeks. I was getting a complete run around with the phone calls I was making trying to resolve the dispute. Theresa listened to the entire story and understood the situation. She handled it perfectly and contacted the correct person to get the dispute started and one day closer to being resolved. I appreciate everything that Theresa did. She included other employees to make sure that she was handling the complicated situation in the right manner. This the absolute worst credit union ever!!! Once they decided to switch it has become horrible! Every week I m getting charged with $30 overdrafts fees literally every week and I m tired. Do not bank with them , customer service is trash also

I have been a member for 30 years and a 15 plus minutes for customer service...still no answer is not a sustainable business practice! Im sorry or generic apologies are not the way True customer service is handled! Sort your priorities and value your investors!

Ive been a member of Parkside credit Union for 20 years and now since the new company took over I give them a one-star because I called and was on hold for 45 minutes when I had to drive up there and still stayed on hold the whole time just to ask them a question and to get an answer and I told the lady Ive been on the phone on hold for 45 minutes and had to drive up there which is 20 minutes from my house and she told me they be busy but when I walked in the office no one was in there I walked straight up to the counter that is totally ridiculous

Ive Sat here with my father dealing with their issues for over a week because they wont give him a working card this isnt just him its my daughters father and while I have sat here I watched 3 people before us in line have this issue. They frequently are hacked I was hacked 5 times when I banked here and they have cost me more money than anyone should if your card doesnt work you have to wait 10 business days so you would be better off banking elsewhere. Dont believe me give it a whirl. My dad needs HIS money pay his rent or hes homeless they dont care but if you owe them they dont care what youre issue is

Let me tell you about BRIANNA she was all of amazing. I have had a rough time getting a new car I had been paying top dollar for car notes for cars that were so old. I never complained I kept my head high and continue to work hard. When I met Brianna she did her big one. She helped me find the perfect car she didn t settle and that made me not settle. She was phenomenal. Thank you so much for having such a great team player. Also thank Sara for making sure I was also good to go. Thank you to the credit union and thank you to Brianna.

Im not a customer ther but my roomate writes me a rent check and have been cashing them ther for 4 years. And half the time drive threw half the time walk in for 4 years. Last year iv had a couple sugerys. And so the other day went threw the drive threw lady said you fina have to come on in we dont cash checks in the drive threw for non customers. First off. What the hell is fina. Guess some getto talk lol. So when i go in i explained 4 years cashing in drive thrw never a problem them from 3 lanes down lady loudly says not at dis bank you aint. Lol hear we go again with the getto talk.

I have been with this credit union for almost 8 years. I used to love it until it stopped running as a credit union and became a bank. There is no grace period if you overdraw, and they fee you $32 per transaction putting you further in debt, and not being helpful or considerate when it comes to these fees. So if you have a few $5.00 transactions go through, you get nabbed with $96 of fees. It is not right to money gouge and cause your members to go into deeper debt. So if y all care about the people keeping you in business, have a little grace for the people living paycheck to paycheck.

Been banking with parkside almost 10 years. Get a call a few days ago that a check that was approved and deposited a week ago needs to be resubmitted that the bank the check was from was denied for one of the pictures being unreadable even though the parkside member said both pictures were fine and the money was ALREADY IN my account and to just get the check canceled and get a new check for the same amount deposit it and I could get fixed same day. I go in today for them to tell me the check and money will be on hold for 2 days. I say thats unacceptable I need the money now. And she talks to a manager over instant messaging and tells me that I will have to have the check put on hold for 5 days. Even though THEIR app messed up I now have to wait 5 days to deposit the check or lose 10% if I cash it somewhere else. And when I ask to speak to a manager I was told that an executive/manager will not come down and speak to someone like me and this person im speaking to told me they are a staff trainer earlier in the conversation.. Ridiculous and completely unprofessional!

I cant say enough nice things about Parkside Credit Union, Westland Branch. From the time I walked into the door, I was greeted and asked if I needed anything (water or coffee), and the CFO came down to thank me for being a long-time member (40+ years). But, my BEST experience was with Theresa Tafoya. I went into this branch wanting to do a lease buyout on my vehicle. Theresa was professional, polite, and so personable. After having a not so pleasant experience at their Livonia branch, I have to say Theresa made up for it 100 x over. What should have taken maybe a couple or few days to complete, she was able to have everything completed today (the same day)! I really like being treated the way I treat people, and that was Theresa! I give her and this branch 5 stars...youre the best!!!

Outstanding service all the way around. Opened an account online, they followed up the next day to explain services. Also applied for a $10,000 loan & closed within 1 day of applying. Breanna was great to work with & was on top of returning my calls. All around, I was with chase for 10 years, but so happy I joined this credit union. Very helpful & very friendly staff!

Hello, my daughter and I have been members of Parkside Credit Union now for 6 years and this Christmas we were never treated so poorly by the staff and management, they took away our online privileges when we live 40 miles away from the credit union. We have no Idea what is going on with our bank account, we cannot use our debit cards, and our bills are going unpaid. Your Credit union should be for you, not against you. I needed to take out a signature loan for personal reasons, the customer service was fantastic as always. This is my second loan with this credit union. I m sticking with this company because they really work with people with not so good credit. Melinda was friendly and helpful. Nowadays it s difficult to find a company with good customer service. Had an account here for over 15 years. They were great for awhile and then their customer service took a turn for the worse. They started to show their true side. I wound not finance anything or have any type of account with them ever again. I would give Parkside Credit Union 0 stars if I could

Had a great experience with my loan officer Melinda Dixon today. She was very friendly, easy to speak to, patient with me and all of my questions I had; she answered and explained all of my questions and adressed my concerns as well. Melinda even gave me helpful advice and tips for my loan payments/repayments, really went the extra mile. I was extremely nervous about the whole situation and process to begin with, but Melindas comfortable demeanor and assitance helped put my mind at ease. Very very grateful to her making this experience wonderful! Thank you Melinda!!

I think Parkside is a awesome credit union!! The staff is always been there for me and my family!! Today I went to the Westland location with multiple issues that needed to be addressed. Thank God Parkside s staff member MARIA was there and was able to help me resolve each and every one of those issues! MARIA was courteous, patient and explained every process which made me feel comfortable and allow for the interaction to be completed in a timely fashion. I have been with Parkside for well over 20 years and have no plans of leaving because of their staff members like MARIA!!

What ever you do do not send your check in through the app to cash it. I sent mine in at 9pm it is now 4:30 and still has not been cleared, this is the 3rd time they have done this I am sick and tired of the waiting all day if not two days when they should have done it already. I was told my check would be looked over and it never was I am vary close to going to another credit union.

I have had multiple problems since opening my parkside accounts and now Im being charged fees for an employee error. Associate failed to give factual information and input multiple things incorrectly. Although he claimed these issues were fixed Im still being inconvenienced over and over and now Im getting fees due to his constant mistakes. Now, because managers dont work on saturdays I cant discuss this until Monday when theyre available, but I work regular business hours too, hence trying to resolve this on a Saturday. Ridiculous. Would not recommend.

Do not go here, I left just over a year agoBecause they wanted to give up my personal bank information out to one of my family members who is not on my account and I explicitly told them not to tell them my informationUnfortunately my mother still goes there so I go to put money in her account, EVEN IF YOURE VACCINATED they will force you to wear a mask even though three mandate is lifted. Went to Wayne westland federal had ZERO issues since Ive been with them.

I ve been a member with Parkside since I was 14 years old and as I ve grown older Ms. Dixon has assured me that I can trust this bank with my money. When other staff disappoint, Ms. Dixon reassures that Parkside still has my best interest. Just ask for Ms. Dixon for the best customer service and the best internet rates.

My husband and I do a lot of business with Parkside Credit Union. This time in particular we needed a loan, fast. We worked with Brianna T who helped us through the process. We applied early Monday and were able to get the check by closing time Tuesday. It was a race against time but Brianna and her team (Samantha was one) made it happen! We needed it so quickly because we had to make a 9 hour drive out of state the next day to get the car of my husbands dreams, and Brianna stayed on top of everything and got things done in a timely manner. There were a couple of hiccups along the way, like our insurance not being quite as specific as they would have liked, but they worked with us and we were able to get the paperwork needed and everything buttoned up right on time. Do I recommend Parkside Credit Union (we typically go to the Dearborn branches, but Brianna and the loan team are out of the Westland branch), YES of course I do! They are our favorite out of all the credit unions and banks we have done business with.

In the 2 years that I ve been with this credit union, I ve encountered 3 major issues that I ve never had with my last bank (Chase): 1. ATM / System breaches where they ve had to send out new cards (happened 5 times) 2. App errors where I couldn t access my accounts 3. Incorrect routing numbers posted After the pandemic, I m highly considering moving to another bank. Their service have been far below my expectations.

I ve been a member here since I was a child (I m now 40 and my parents had originally opened my account, just as I have for my child) and at first I used it because it was what was setup for me. Never had any issues and as I became older and fraud more prevalent, I realized just why this was an excellent facility! I ll never forget that the credit union noticed what seemed to be fraud happening, contacted me just to verify my whereabouts and someone was indeed trying to use my account...fraud was stopped before it had even begun. That s impressive in my book. Take that and the customer service by people like Ashley B (the one I tend to normally see) and it s rather easy to establish why this is an excellent banking facility! Don t get me wrong, I ve had my complaints or issues, but it s in the recognizing of an establishment trying out new ways that sometimes backfire, but regroup, take constructive criticism and bounce back to create an even better atmosphere and that s exactly what this bank is. My daughter is my world and I opened her account here because I want her to have the same ease of banking that I ve had!

I deposited a money order here at the ATM and they put a 12 day hold on it, so I went into the branch attempting to get the money order back and they told me they couldnt give it to me and that Id just have to wait for it to clear...super inconvenient when youre flat broke! Definitely wouldnt recommend. They didnt even try to help with my situation.

My husband and I have been members of PCU for 12 years. The staff here is great they treat you like family. When walking through the door you re greeted by your name by some of the members with a pleasant smile. I love them mostly because their always willing to work with their members with different issues.

Worst bank ever!!!! Every week theres something wrong. The bank is 15 years behind on technology. They have an app for to log in to keep track, but everytime time you sign in, it doesnt recognize it the password. So that leaves you going up there everytime to check your balance. Also forget about doing anything on friday, because if you swipe your card for anything they dont clear it until monday leaving you with overdraft fees. Also my husband got a credit card from them and you have to go up there to pay for it every time the bill is due cause they dont send it out. Its the same with our car loan! We let one of our major banks that we have had for 10 years that we have never had problems with to come here to parkside. Biggest wrong decision Ive ever made with this bank. I will be closing all my accounts soon and they will give me every single penny that I own.

THEY HAVE WENT DOWNHILL BETWEEN THE RUDE TELLERS TO THE FEES THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. I WENT TO GO WITHDRAW MY OWN MONEY!! I NEEDED TO MAKE A LARGE PURCHASE THEY DENIED ME AND SAID IT WAS A $5,000 A DAY LIMIT. THENTHE TELLER HAD THE NERVES TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE BEACUSE I TOLD HER TO GIVE ME THE $5,000 AND ILL BE BACK TOMORROW.. SHE ASKED ME EXACTLY WHAT DID YOU NEED THIS MONEY FOR? VERY RUDELY ...AHHHH EXCUSE ME WHAT BUSINESS IS THIS OF YOURS?!?!? ITS MY MONEY RIGHT?!? I WILL BE TAKING ALL MY MONEY OUT AND CLOSING THE ACCOUNT. WAY TO GO PARKSIDE CREDIT UNION YOUR NO BETTER THAN THE BANKS!!

We have issues with this bank constantly. Been a member since 2013. As a middle class family who lives paycheck to paycheck, they make things a whole lot harder when the tellers say oh your car payment is 4 days late and we explain that we have to wait till Friday. When we leave they place the payment anyways and then I will not have money for my phone bill of water bill, ect.. Get an over draft fee.. This has happened over and over to us and they have only solved the issue once cause I came in with all my kids crying and telling them my water was gonna get turned off. They gave me back a check in the exact amount of the bill and let me pay my payment as policy says you have 10 days to go past. We have also had issues with our debit card many many times. We can have 10,000 in our account and if I try to buy something for 600 it will decline my card. Its too much to spend at once I guess.. I have had to put back groceries. Not been able to buy furniture on black Friday. Its happened after going to 5 different stores in my area too. Their limitations are ridiculous. There is absolutely no way to contact anyone after hours if your card is being declined. Dont go on vacation, or plan a weekend trip.. you will not be able to use your own money. And last but not least, my son has had a savings account there since 2013. I went to deposit a check and they said mam that account has been closed since July of 2016. It is only a savings account but there was $20 left in it. No explanation for that, just like they cant tell me why they take out my payments automatically before its been 10 days. Breaking their policy to get their money and its screwing your loyal customers. The tellers think they are being nice by paying it so we wont get a fee. You are a bank teller, not my financial advisor. Tell me what I need to do and I will do it myself or I will bank somewhere that they let you take be an adult. Posted this a week ago. Today my husband received a call from Parkside. Of course they wont talk to me cause Im not on the account. She said he needs to give us a call today. And now he is trying to call back and it says customer service line is closed. Then reads you the hours and its supposed to be open. I told the lady my husband works 3rd shift and he woke up for nothing. You guys need to get it together. Its Friday so I guess we wont be hearing back from you today.

They say that first impressions are everything. Ive been with them for less than two months and considering changing already. Theyll try so hard for you to take out a loan through them and will make time to speak with you and make you feel comfortable because youve told them your entire life story and situation. The banker says something like, I dont see any reason why you would be denied. You havent had a single late payment in 18 months. We will call you tomorrow. Tomorrow arrives, you call them and they dont even give you the reason for the denial! Now when I set up my account I was told that Ill always be more than a credit score. So what the hell? I just wanted a $4,000 loan to consolidate my credit cards into a lower interest rate. That would boost my FICO to almost 700 then go through them for a home loan. No. Stinking. Way. Not now. Ill NEVER bother to take out a loan through them! Theyll be lucky if I dont take my account to Zeal! So now Ill go through One Main and use my car as collateral if necessary... pay a 24% interest, get my score about 700 then request a loan through Quicken instead. Update: The VP of lending (Joy) tried contacting me and left a message. I e-mailed her back: I work evenings and spent most of today with my mother at the hospital. Perhaps tell me what it is exactly what youd like to discuss? Because I have little time or patience remaining for this credit union. Yes, I e-mailed a complaint due to my experience but my opinion cannot be swayed. (First impressions and all.) Unless you are reconsidering the approval of my loan then Im afraid that I really dont have any motivation to have my rejection shoved in my face yet again. However, since I was only approved for a useless $500 then I am in serious doubt that is what youre wanting to discuss. But thanks for the follow up. Guess what? No response. So obviously she didnt want to talk to me about reconsidering my loan. Whatever. Im done with this institution! Even though I increased my FICO score 57 points in 35 days Im still not worthy. Obviously, I dont need their help just like they dont need my business. Update Still havent received a letter explaining why I was denied but since then I raised my FICO to 647 and received my preapproval for 170,000 through a different lender. Thats proof that this credit union is NOT interested in lending. At least not to me anyway.

My family have been a member for well over forty years. When ever we have had any issue the staff have taken care of it. Also a long standing employee Sandy is well knowable, professional and take charge person. We think shes great.

They were great at first I used them for loans. Throughout my 2-year period of making payments at least 4 times I went to make a payment and pull money out the ATM at their Bank and their ATMs are down and I went to make a payment today and they locked the doors five minutes early. So out of the 24 payments I needed to make 5 times I went up there and wasted time 30 minutes out of my way and then wasnt able to make a payment had to come back another day when the ATM was working or they didnt lock me out also have friends who use their banking and they say they freeze or post transactions 3 days late so you dont realize and they hit you with overdraft fees or late fees might be a small Credit Union but they act or treat you just like any other big bank

Why does the drive through not open till 10am now? I work midnights plus I do 12 hours a day 7 days a week so unfortunately I dont have time to deposit my checks during these hours. Is there anyway we can change this back to 8am? Not very pleased with this change at all.

It was a great service until around the time I got laid off I had a good amount of money saved up did a lot of shopping and I wasnt really worried about running low cuz I had other side work for the winter but as I went on vacation for every dollar I spent or two or five bucks it was a $30 charge overdraft fee and that had never happen before with my debit card I understand that I signed for this without the knowledge of this happening read the fine line I get it but my card had never been able to do that before it let me charge almost $500 before I knew it so every time I spent a dollar $2 or 20$ it was $30 fee every time and for some reason I thought there was $300 aside and to be in a program but I was wrong about that they didnt take it out of my checkings they just started charging me then took it out of my checkings and I thought at 300-plus my checkings was why they let me charge that much and my final statement from them said I owed them 0.00 which was not the case they said they had to do there when they close account so I had no clue now my credit has been tampered with so thank you for financially molesting me
