My experience with Extra Credit Union has been stellar since my first interaction with them back in 2017. The first person I met was a lady name Paula B. Who treated my like a human being with a story behind my then credit history. She placed me with Jamie M and we have done FOUR auto loans to date! I live in California now and still do business with ECU in Michigan. They are these only institution I trust. Period. Shout out to Jamie M! This is the worse bank I have ever had to deal with and they are very racist. Please do not bank with them or pull your money out of this bank. I have had this bank account for over 3 or 4 years and I have never experienced racism and evil intent like this. I have several loans with them and I am still making payments even though I am going through a hardship. I explained to them and was not help, instead I encountered a loan manager from hell, MARK. I ask him to reverse a payment to get a repair on my vehicle, he wouldn't help me, instead he took my overdraft and I was going to use that money to help with the repair. I will be contacting the President of the bank, because this is unfair. Mark talked to me like I was a child and I feel like he had no compassion regarding my situation, he should be replaced. Mark is using his power to usurp authority and hurt others. Please do not bank here, you will not get any help, no matter what your situation is. I want my overdraft put back on my account.....

Please make Mark put my overdraft back on my account, I have all my money tied up in this bank.

Long-time ECU/MCU/Warren Teachers CU here. Totally not impressed lately. Yesterday I visited the (only) branch to send a wire transfer. It took nearly an hour. But it never showed up so I called first thing this morning and they told me the wire transfer has been sent. I said I m looking at the funds in my account and how could the funds have been sent and the money is still in my account? Then they admitted it did not actually get sent and can t tell me why not. I asked for accountability from the department that screwed up, they said they d have someone from the finance department call me and can you guess what? No phone call. No accountability. No apology. I cancel the wire transfer at ECU and sent it through my MSGCU account. The transfer showed up in two hours with no excuses and no failures. Surprising? Nope.

Generally the staff is courteous and responsive. Their security features regarding debit cards are good here. They have stopped several fraudulent and erroneous charges over the past years. They have had a few beaches that are troubling. They make you change your passwords more often than any of the other institutions do. You must reconcile your statements however, because errors happen.

This is a great place to start off a credit adventure, and you really give a great help. Great support you really get laid in the right direction. The person that had help me and is still helping me. Chauna and I started out just changing a withdrawl date on my account. We ended up refinancing my debt crusher loan and my car payment (with another company) at a better rate. We needed some relief with all this inflation. Chauna was so kind, and patient. She answered all my questions. She offered good advice and saved me some money. Plus I have gap insurance! What more could you ask for?

One ATM that never receives enough service. This has led to me being overdraft and unable to pay bills three times this year alone. Regardless of if my money is returned, these issues are able to be avoided and havent been addressed for over 5 years. Go somewhere else

My Husband and I love love loved the fellow that helped us out today at the extra credit union office on 13 mile in Warren...very thorough at answering questions . We moved to Kentucky a couple yrs ago but still come to Michigan monthly for Dr Apts...we both really love our Credit union and hated to leave ...but with the help fromMichael Carr we plan on staying at Extra credit union because he found us places to go close enough to our home in ky that are attached to our Credit union. ......thank you Michachel Carr for being such a amazing help ....p.s I personally love your bubbly personality

This customer service rep in loan, Katelyn G. In Washington Township, MI is the most condescending, entitled, misinformed service rep. She spoke about reducing my cc from 5k to 2500 and than she reduced my limit rather than leaving the limit and just paying half as discussed. When I addressed this she stated that I misunderstood her she never apologized or stated perhaps we misunderstood each other because I definitely did not want to be maxed just at a lower limit. She s the one that s slow, I have my MBA, and this poor customer service has me questioning me doing business with them ever again. When I decided to go with another contractor, she threatened and said, this is the last time, (it s was only done once) And that my contractor I picked had 2 bad reviews, so what was I really trying to do. Accusing me, this lady is crazy, all in the meantime, I m paying back the entire loan bi-weekly. This lady definitely is young has poor customer service, and has multiple complaints, with no resolve and no training. She needs to access who s she s talking to, and think outside the box, and recognize the history of the customer. I ve dealt with this credit union for everything and this ONE bad seed affecting me doing business with them again. Writing a complaint with the attorney general, and the CFPB in the next 7-10 days. No manager has reached out, no one rectified my cc limit, no said a thing to me. The bank is in business to collect interest and make money off my money. They are not doing anything to retain me.

I have been a member of extra credit union for a few years now. When no one else would help me they did. They prepare you for your future plans and always try their best to help when needed. Mike Carr has been a life saver. He is responsive and caring and makes sure he does all he can to help when needed. I have continued to always reach out to him when ever I am needing any assistance. We recently had a chance to work with Michael Carr for some financial loan things and he was nothing short of fantastic! He truly helped us be able to get a new car and take care of some other financial problems. He went to bat for us with the underwriter and he truly listened to what we needed most. He was was patient when I had a billion questions and he answered every one without hesitation. I highly recommend Michael Carr and Extra Credit Union for all your loan/financial needs!

Horrible experience with an auto loan application. Mislead by my consultant on the application process and gave me the overall worst experience I ve ever dealt with, at a Credit Union. Connie was very unhelpful, short, condescending, and told me personally that let s face it.. your income isn t that great . I couldn t help but laugh as I knew this was no longer a loan application but perhaps a prank or just an interaction with someone who doesn t care about their job or the community they serve. Your best bet is to go to any other Credit Union in the state of Michigan. Many others out there, check google and read reviews. I d recommend avoiding this place to all new customers if possible. Sad part is that I know someone personally who referred me to this institution yet my experience was so awful. The specialist I dealt with is definitely a bad seed. If you unfortunately decide to roll the dice and do business here, I hope you have better luck than me and get any other lending consultant than the one I was given. Nothing would make me happier than the Extra Credit Union (Owner) replying to this and telling me they re able to pull the call, review it and set me up with a conference call to discuss my experience with my consultant. Note: For all Newly incoming members applying for an auto loan - I was told by my consultant that this is heavily a relationship based lending institution, and you will have to build up a repertoire (setup direct deposit, get their credit card, etc. ) before being eligible to get as little as a penny for an auto loan. Even if you have top tier credit. Does this sound correct?

They put all checks on a 10 day hold for the first 90 days after opening an account including paychecks. When asked the reason we get told to build a relationship.

This is one of the best credit union s I ever been with. Low interest rates on personal loans and car loans. Constance Brandt and Chauna Ace ARE THEE BEST!!! These two helped me on separate occasions. They both knew exactly what to do, and made the process for me smooth and stress free. They both were so helpful, kind, patient and very knowledgeable. If I could give them a 10 rating I would.

ECU is always so helpful. Every loan I ve had through them the loan officer has been helpful and patient. This time I looked into a loan, Lisa helped me out so much and was patient with me and alll my questions. My best friend ended up giving me a car and I didn t need the auto loan anymore but lisa was still sooo understanding! When I m ready to purchase a car I will definitely call Lisa !

Extra Credit Union has the best auto loan rates around, and Michael Carr was great through the entire process. He answered all my questions, was always prompt in email/phone replies, and made it easy and fast all around. I became a member and got a floor rate loan in two business days, saving thousands versus the rate the dealer offered.

I ve been with this credit since 2019 and I ve never had an issue. But now, I don t like this thing that they do when they don t give us a grace period to get rid of a negative balance on our account!!! That s the dumbest thing someone could ever do!!!! My About went into negative today!!! And they charged me the overdraft fee today!!! That s ridiculous!!! Why do I have to pay this fee when I have the cash on hand?!?! I didn t even know about the transaction coming out!!!!

Again we had an awesome experience with Mike Carr. We moved all the way to NC and Mike always comes through with our financial needs. We purchased a Jeep Wrangler here in NC and was able to refinance with a lower rate through Mike. We cant express what a wonderful experience we always have. This use to be my favorite Credit Union, but this last loan has been the worst process Ive ever dealt with. Ive worked with 5/6 different women on loans before, all great, but Paula has been the worst. It has not made me comfortable at all. If I could write a book about Costance Brandt I would. This is her second time helping me in a desperate time of need. She has such an awesome spirit and she does everything to try and help you get your loan approved. I m not saying this just because my loans have been approved but she genuinely cares about her clients.
