Great Lakes Pawn

We came here to buy a lawn mower for our first home, and left with the lawn mower plus a power drill. Both were reasonably priced, and they even threw in a free carrying pouch for the power drill. Ivan was super helpful through the process, as well as multiple other staff who helped everything go smoothly from start to finish. Everyone was so friendly and made our visit quick and easy, and we left feeling happy with our experience (which isn’t always the case with many pawn shops). We’ll definitely be returning soon, and want to recommend this place to everyone. Seriously, if we could give more than 5 stars, we would!! Thank you, Great Lakes Pawn!

I've been coming here for years and have never reviewed. Ivan, Vern, and the whole crew are amazing to work with. I've always been treated well, and the prices are phenomenal. The store is very clean and organized, not a dumpy pawn shop at all. Don't hesitate to stop in and look around, they always have jew things coming in and have periodic sales on select items.

Great Lakes Pawn is absolutely PHENOMENAL!! I previously purchased a laptop from another location and was informed that my motherboard was now dead. I thought that I would need a new laptop and was hoping Great Lakes Pawn could help me. Ivan asked if anyone had seen my laptop and I informed him that I got a diagnosis over the phone. He took it apart and got it working in about 5 minutes!! Not only did he save me from having to spend more money, but when I offered to still pay him for his time he politely declined! Some places care about making a quick buck, but Great Lakes cares about meeting the clients need. I appreciate them and see that they truly care about helping every single person that walks through their doors.I will definitely be back and I will be referring others to them as well!! =)

I have been in and out of Great Lakes for about the past year. And the staff and management team are usually courteous and helpful. Recently, however, things have changed due to a layaway that I had planned to finish purchasing. I was given a call from the staff notifying me that I could make a payment to keep the item current, unfortunately I am unable to complete the purchase. So, I took the time to travel to the store and notify them. And then requested a refund, less the restocking fee. I was shocked when I was informed that my money would only be refunded in the form of instore credit. The store manager ,Ivan,explained to me that it was all in writing on my original receipt, so not having it handy I left the store. When I did come across the original receipt I quickly realized that I had been lied to. The store credit disclaimer is no where on the receipt. So I call the store back and speak with Owen concerning this missing disclaimer. And now he informs me that Ivan, who is the manager of daily operations, was not correct about the disclaimer printing. But its on another paper, the purchase receipt not the layaway receipt So Im stuck trying to get my money back, less the restocking fee that is normal from these guys. I offered a restocking fee not them, and they both Ivan and Owen are quick to remind me that it was a courtesy to even notify me. Funny, had I came in to give up more money than there would not have been any issue with the courtesy call and we would all be happy and holding hands right now. But because money for once seems like it may not stay in the building now its an issue. Suddenly Ivan isnt around and has his subordinates calling me to say that he has left for the day and it would be a waste of time for me to travel to the store. Really? Thats the only reason I gave Great Lakes 2 stars. I would not recommend any layaway business, and make sure that if you do get the policy in writing or a pdf file. Since it seems so difficult for the manager and staff to recall the policy.

I WOULD NOT recommend they only buy/give loans for flatscreens that are 2018 or later. Umm thats almost a brand new tv. No absolutely not. Livonia is a funny city.

I am a consistent consumer/purchaser of loose diamonds and gold bullions. Whenever Im ready to sell my assets, I choose this place and I literally am reimbursed either dollar for dollar or more than retail price for the items that I am selling. I really love this place! Zeidmans who! American Jewelry and Loan what? This is the place to be! Very experienced in gems and fine metals, and whatever they lack experience in (palladium), they tell you instead of pretending to be educated in that area (like Zeidmans) and give you bottom dollar. Love them for their honesty also.

Ive had a couple things pawned in this shop one was my tv and I got it back it was cracked then I almost lost one of my tools because they failed to send me a text or call the only reason I didnt lose it was because I went up to buy something and I checked on my pawns while I was there needless to say Im getting everything out of there asap Ill never deal with them again very very unsatisfied

Very friendly staff. Fair on their prices. I tried to sell a gun I bought and they found out that I was over charged so they helped me return it to the gun store I bought it from for a full refund. They told me what to do and say and it worked. They also try and give you the most they can when you pawn, and if you do a lot of business with them and they know youll be back to pick up your pawn they will give you more then the item is worth. They helped me out so many times. Best pawn shop I have ever been to.
