Ill be so glad when we are done paying off the loan with this bank. Its been one thing after another. Now we get our new card and it wont let me activate it and I have to call customer service but its the weekend so Im screwed. Im so over yall at this point. We have moved everything else over to our new bank and the last thing to do is move over the VA checks. So done with your bank and the new bank is so much better. Not one issue at all.

Joining Arbor Credit Union was the best decision weve ever made for our financial future. Wed been with Fifth-Third for decades when we began to feel it had become a little impersonal. A Forbes article about the flight from traditional banks to credit unions appeared around the same time and wed heard good things about Arbor. Were so glad we took the leap!

As a young adult navigating the financial world, it is so refreshing to have such a supportive and informative staff to help answer all of my questions. Every time I ve entered the branch, I have been met with welcoming, smiling faces. Plus, without my knowledge, Kimberly (the branch manager) stayed almost a half an hour after closing to make sure that all of my concerns were addressed. She showed kindness throughout our discussion, and I am so grateful for her assistance.

I really dont understand where the bad reviews are coming from. Its important to remember that reviews should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when an alleged bad experience comes with no context. I love Arbor! I have never had a bad experience with them. They have always been ready to help me when Ive needed a line of credit or to forgive an accidental overdraft. My only complaint might be the quality of the cards they issue. Then tend to fall apart after some time in the wallet. I wouldnt mind a slightly more premium card!

Drive through at 9th St. location in particular, is unexplainably slow. They also dont appear to hand count the money sent out and rely on the machine only. So when the machine runs out of a certain denomination the teller doesnt know and sends out less money than you requested. But your withdrawal slop djpes the full amount.

Back in January we ordered a new RV and we were working with Arbor to secure a loan. The process was easy and the rate good. Then we ran into some problems getting our unit. Without getting into too much detail, we experienced delay after delay in the units delivery date which ultimately ended up in them giving us a totally different unit. We worked with Tony Flanders at Arbor for both the original loan and later when we had to make changes in the financing to accommodate the change in vehicles. Tony was efficient, professional and went out of his way to make the process as stress less as possible. Can t thank him enough for his help.

this cu has gone down the drain since it changed from eccu. it used to be if i didnt have money in my account, my debit card didnt work. that was great. then they started charging me $35 each time, and i told them i didnt like that so they put a line of credit on my checking account so if i did overdraft, it would charge the line and i would pay it off at the end of the month. but they STILL charge me $5 each time i overdraft! i said i thought we fixed this problem and they said, well $5 is better than$35 now isnt it? and they dont even give you a 24 hour grace period to deposit/move money around. thats a real poor way of doing business and i have been looking for a new place to put my money lately. the mattress has been looking better and better.

June 16th 2022 I called to speak to a call center representative about a blocked autopay transaction. DREW answered informed me that it was blocked because it was a Texas based transaction. This is troublesome because I have been based in TX over 50% of the time for over 2 years. Upon pointing that out he responded with no you dont so I requested to speak with the manager on shift. He question why? To which I responded with because I would like to speak to them. He told me no its my last day sand I dont like you. Then hung up. I have called back 6 times the first time he pretended he couldnt hear me and disconnected and since every time i have called it is answered with silence. This person has access to my money and confidential information. I do not feel comfortable with my money here any longer

They tried to force me to get a new card AFTER I resolved my issues on my account and made agreements with people at the branch. I called and canceled monthly memberships and everything and the fraud dept. STILL wanted me to get a new card tho it was me who made a mistake and no fraud was going on. I had to beg them to keep the card I currently had. The worse part, the same lady I spoke to and made the agreements with was siding with the fraud dept even tho she told me I would be good after I call and make cancelation my part a week prior. I cant wait to leave this bank!

This branch offers the slowest service ever. Ever! Out of any bank I have ever experienced. Out of all the branches at that. You can be the only person and still wait an hour hour half. Happened multiple times it s just so close to my home. Also I have had my card decline for fraud on a $6 charge at a gas station I always use but when I go Miami it swipes with no problem. I was able To make it to the west edge branch once and they offered impeccable service with more traffic. Also don t dare need to dispute something. Where most credit unions or banks take maybe 3 days you ll be waiting weeks to hear anything at this one.

Never have I experienced such poor service at a banking institution! Moved back to the area several months ago and really looked foreword to banking with Arbor again, since I was previously a member for 40 years. After setting up my accounts with them, I needed checks, which they said should only take about 10 days. After many phone calls and over a month later they could find the checks and needed to resubmit the original order. My last negative experience was when I applied for an auto loan, was told that they should have an answer by the end of the day or possibly early the following morning. After not hearing any word on the loan I called and found out I was approved and the loan agent would be calling me shortly. Another day and I still haven t heard from the agent, so my wife and I have decided to pay cash and plan on looking for a different Credt Union.

Having done multiple forms of banking with Arbor Financial - I was astounded to be asked to pay an origination fee to change my mortgage amount (which changes every year because of property taxes). To top that off - They called me a week AFTER I came in to the bank to change it - to tell me I had to come back to pay them. I was informed by an employee this afternoon that the reason for the charge is that it takes 1 employee 2 HOURS to make this change from my external bank. Seriously. Another fake charge to pass on to your customers, with pathetic lies for your excuses. Ask yourself is this who you want to bank with?? I was told they wouldn t waive the fee either. (I hadn t even asked) Which is funny seeing as someone pulled through the drive through next to me recently and asked to have their overdraft fees waived. And they did - no questions asked. Awful lot of one star reviews for this bank. Consider yourself warned!

I used to love this credit union never really had a whole lot of issues but the last few months theyve started processing all of my payments and deposits backwards so I get over draft fee after over draft fee when it all adds up I end up having more money in over draft fees than I ever went over theyll only refund up to 3 per year yet keep doing this over and over again I am a single mother of 4 children theyve been taking longer and longer to process my deposits that I get from the same place every single time so theres no reason for them to look risky or anything else Ive lost literal thousands and they started charging more for the fees than they used to Ive used banks before and they where t even that gold digging will literally allow up to 24 hours for the payment to hit I had fraud transactions they allow you to cancel here they let them over draft your account (yes they where cought while still pending they very easily could have canceled them) take weeks to send you the money back and dont refund the over draft fees thanks arbor I cant afford my babys diapers this month after getting a cash advance because theyre still letting more of the fraud charges process and go through after making me think 1 went away because it was no longer showing in my account.

This review is not for a specific location, just for the credit union in general. I ve been a member of Arbor for almost 20 years, and each time they have rebranded/changed, the service has gotten worse and the fees have gotten higher. On a different matter: your WEBSITE leaves much to be desired. When I do an online transaction, Im VERY LIMITED as to description of the transaction, and NO LONGER able to edit the description. We have good credit and funds for a down payment, but the mortgage officer seemed to judge us because we are in our 20s, so that must mean we arent worth their time. Clunky app. And right now, they have their app and online services down for 3 full days while they refresh. Working in IT, I know that with proper planning, there is absolutely no need to have a 3-day downtime. That is absurd to not be able to access your money online, especially at the beginning of the month when mortgages are due. Ive been with them for years to support the community I grew up, but this is making me switch. A 3-day downtime is just really poor service to your customers.

Stay away from this credit union..terrible experience. I moved to Michigan recently, heard great things about this credit union and i tried to open an account online, Claire Wagner from the eCommerce department made this experience a nightmare, she was horrible, she withdrew my application and refused to answer my questions and when i asked why she withdrew my application, she responded she is not required answer me. I asked her what my next steps were, she said i could visit the branch (despite telling her that i am 5 hour drive from where i live, , which i was okay making a trip for) and but she kept going on that we cant guarantee anything to you even if you were come in (what a negative way to welcome your new customers). I told her attitude towards me was unacceptable, she didnt care. She is incapable, doesnt care for her customers. She is disgrace to this Credit Union. I regret to have given this credit union a chance for my banking needs.

One star is too many. As many others, we have been long term members. We have had multiple mortgages through them along with car, RV and boat loans. They have always been great to work with until we applied for a refinance this year. We applied in the beginning of March. First two weeks were fine, then it went downhill quick. Now I know these are unique times and low interest rates but as of this review date, we still havent closed. We are in our 15th week and it will be over 16 weeks by the time we close. Then they tell me I have to prepay our house taxes 2 1/2 months early even though we arent escrowing anything. Then on top of that, our first payment isnt until September 1st even though we are closing June 30th. Not a big deal except we have to pre-pay the interest from June 30th until September 1st even though I will be making a payment on my own August 1st. We have a friend that has been a realtor for over 20 years. He says Arbor is the worst out there. Use them at your own peril.

Review №72

Just closed on a refinance yesterday. The initial process was a little slow, but I think its mostly because interest rates were at records lows, so the volume of applications was quite high. Once we got going, it was smooth sailing. Most importantly, I never felt like anyone was trying to take advantage of us. We got a very good rate with a shorter term and smaller monthly payments. I have also been pleased with their online banking system. Some credit unions can be technologically archaic, but their interface is intuitive and modern. Very happy so far!

Im not sure what has happened over the past several years, but Ive been in a member for a few decades, and theyve gone down hill at a steady pace. It used to feel like an actual credit union, where being a member meant something. Now - big bank feel and actions. Fees increased to match big banks, same with policies. Holding deposits unnecessarily long, etc. Whatever training has fallen aside too, as the experience is horrible typically at branches. I would not recommend them to anyone. PS - no need for some cookie cutter response from Arbor, Ive tried many times in person and by phone, no need to try to make yourself look good by a politically correct response.

By the time I can get to g-mail it is there but time is running out. I am not sure how many times that I have contacted them many many I am sure. By the way to anyone who is interested there is a problem with g-mail (too many) they may not forward your secret password until you are at 100 or less. They suggest you do bulk deletion until there is ROOM for your emergency word.. Has anyone been told that? I havent.

Ive been with this credit union for 15 years and I loved it because It didnt charge me when I overdraw from one account to the other. I would even recommend this to friends and strangers because the bank worked so well for me. However, the moment I moved to Grand Rapids it became complicated to use. Its hard to access money and if I want to buy something for over 500$ on the weekend i cant. Now that Im back in Kalamazoo its getting worse. If I want to spend 300$ on saturday I can only spend 200$ on sunday and they wont let me raise that limit because I dont have a credit score. I cant even call outside of business hours to get that changed for a payment. With technology the way it is today one would think they could offer convenience but they dont. Theres no place to call outside of business hours for problems with accessing your account if theres a limit on it even though the money is clearly in the account. Even the 800 number doesnt have the means to help with that. I even went in and asked and they said they thought there was a number to call but id already called the numbers and there was only fraud/lost or stolen card help. Even though all of this happened I wanted to stay because they dont charge for an overdraw but today I overdrew for the first time in years and I saw that they started doing that. Theres a 5$ fee and of course I wasnt notified of the change, why would i be. It probably changed years ago and I didnt know. Its really hard to figure out policy when there are changes the website isnt user friendly at all and even when the bank tellers dont know information in my case the managers didnt either. I was very polite and patient (hard to believe these days that a customer would be that way) but they were polite back and uninformative when it seemed like they knew it just wasnt possible to help me get more money from my account than 500$ at a time and then 500$ more in an atm. I wish they would have just told me that there wasnt a way to raise it since I dont have a credit score, instead of wasting my time looking for a phone number that didnt exist. Some things in life cost more than $1000 and I dont like using credit cards. I understand why they have limits but a customer should be able to raise them 24 hours in case something happens like they need new tires on a sunday. Then there are the sneaky charges they put on accounts without asking like paper statements and the only way to take them off is to request it after noticing. And this is something that most places do anyways but their interest rates are so low that you cant earn any interest because youre paying fees that are more than the interest you would make on a savings account. This credit union is inconvenient and now they have sneaky charges and low interest rates on savings accounts that make it not worth the inconvenience. ECCU/Arbor was a credit union, years ago, but now theyre acting like a bank. Im leaving as soon as possible.

Ive been banking here ever since I opened a bank account (well, my parents did for me!), and have not had any problems.

Love ECCU, well now Arbor! Thanks for having such great customer service. I never have issues with my banking. I love the app as well, makes it convenient to quickly look at my balance and make automatic transactions. Keep it up!

I am incredibly disappointed in the new online bill pay options and the inability to make payments from outside institutions. This was one of the reasons I previously liked ECCU. I will not be doing business with them once I have my loans paid.

Kings of misinformation and a terrible website. Here their hours for Saturday clearly say 9AM to 1PM ...so, this past Saturday I arrived at 12:30 only to find the sign on their door says closed at 12 noon! Major inconvenience thanks to their oversight and not being able to stay on top of their public information online. As for their website, Ive banked with four other institutions in the area (including 2 credit unions, of which one I am still a member), and ECCUs website looks great at first -- colorful and interactive, but DONT BE FOOLED if you are considering membership at ECCU. Their online banking for their most important people (i.e., their customers) is the worst Ive ever seen. I am technically literate, spending hours on computers each day, and their online banking is not only USER UNFRIENDLY but it is a complete waste of time. They used their money (e.g., from customers fees and interest) to upgrade their entire website/online banking system last year and its your (members invenstments) in what has been this once great and long-standing reputable CU that have been a complete waste down the drain. Whats next?... probably the same as other Google review responses. Someone from CCU will respond saying theyd love to have me come in and have them show me how great their website/online banking works. Hear this ECCU: I dont want someone to have to show me how to use *your* terrible system -- I know how to use websites and other online banking systems just fine because, unlike yours, they work!

Sidney Ellis (Not related) is a wonderful customer service person. He has always worked his hardest to get great results for me on loans. Sometimes it did not work out in my favor, but he had great follow up with me. It has worked out in my favor and was able to have extra cash when needed. I have not been this happy with a banking institution in quite some time. Thank you all for everything you do, but thank you Sidney.

I have been a long time member, but HATE the new online banking. It is very difficult to access. getting into it with out a customer service rep is impossible. That means if you are trying to bank online during off hours, you are out of luck!
