I was recommended them by my credit union and I can't even get in touch with anybody to talk about applying for a mortgage. They said James rogers would call me back. They even gave me his number to call him, he absolutely never answers. So they've lost my business before they could even get it. I need a mortgage lender That's good in communication. The customer service is disappointing.

I'm a real estate broker and I assure you that if you send me an offer with this company as the lender, I would recommend my sellers not to accept it. The communication and lack of professionalism is unforgivable.

I applied for a mortgage, and closed on the property. Prior to a single payment being due, the mortgage was transferred to a different company. I was not told my mortgage would be sold and the first communication I received was from the institution taking over my loan, so I have to give them the lowest rating as they denied me the option to have any positive experience.

My sister passed away, so I filed an Informal Probate for her Estate. In the meantime I have payed her mortgage & tax bill from my personal account. I find out I overpaid her tax bill. Now they won’t re-issue the check in my name but will issue the overpayment in my deceased sisters name.
I have been fighting with Members First since December 2023, to no avail. My recommendation is to find another mortgage company to deal with rather than these idiots.
They have called me but again they will not reimbursement me for any overage payment. Not unless I reopen my sister’s Informal Probate, which will be another 300-400 dollars for me.
They certainly don’t have an issue with taking my payments but man, they must really be desperate for money to keep an old ladies over payment.

I would not recommend if you are looking to get into your home in a timely manner. My closing date was pushed back several times. It took them over a monthly to actually get the ball rolling. I do not and will not ever recommend Member First Mortgage to anyone. This company seems to be in the business for taking homes. My experience has been a very stressful one with this company. Last year my income was cut 60% due to a divorce and a loss of income due to illness. I got another job in December 2023 where I am now making way less than when I obtained a mortgage with this company. I advised First Mortgage of my hardship and applied for a modification and was told NO very quickly. I provided all the documentation they advised me that they required, they so called reviewed it and told me sorry, cant help you...pay up or sheriffs sale. So I sold my vehicle and started pawning some personal belongings in order to keep up with my mortgage so I will not become homeless. I am 61 years of age and have never been evicted or homeless in my entire life and I do not want to be especially being a female at my age. I came back to first mortgage again and asked for or filed for a forbearance due to my financial hardship and once again provided all the required documentation and was told NO again. So I sold and pawned more personal belongings. I am a 61 years old black hardworking woman and to be in this position is very stressful. This company will give mortgages but once locked in, should you fall into a real verifiable hardship they will not budge or work with you. When I was once paying all of my bills due each month in full to now having to choose to get medication and eat and make arraignments on my utilities. I cannot help I have health issues and had to quit my $100,00.00 a year job due to my health challenges to this. The HOME PRESERVATION department at First Mortgage are uncaring, heartless and cut throat. BEWARE. I GIVE THEM NO STARS IN THIS REVIEW.

Lots of incompetent people working here i wouldn t advise mortgaging with them. Choose someone else if possible. They ve tried to bill me multiple times for increases that never happened or they knew about. They ve tried to bill me for missing escrow that evidently came from Them not doing their due diligence and getting the proper insurance information from The previous year. They ll let the bill go up for months and then contact you saying you owe this lump sum. Every time I ve called to talk to them they ve gotten loud and hostile with me about the situation and I mean every time. They re just as bad as the people working the BMV wit their attitudes. As soon as my insurance policy is up I ll be mortgaging with another company. I ll be damned if anyone raises their voice and talks to Me the way they did and multiple people at that.

My experience with members first mortgage was exceptional! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a mortgage to go to members first mortgage. My mortgage consultant, Marta Dulaney went above and beyond in administering my mortgage loan! Marta Dulaney, Heidi Brower and Patty Fisher showed attention to detail that I don t believe I wouldn t have received from any other mortgage company. The person overseeing the mortgage process was extremely rude several times when I asked questions concerning the process. I even told him I didnt appreciate his rudeness several times. We were late to the closing because he didnt tell us where it would be. We started the process at our local bank (everyone there were polite) so we assumed it was to close at the bank. By time I got a hold of him the day of closing we were an hour behind and he then informed me the closing was at the title company 25 mins away. When I asked him why he never informed that the closing wasnt at the bank he said all closings take place at the title company and you should have known that. I have had three mortgages in the past and they were all held at the bank. I then told him he was being rude to me he suggested next time I should ask where its being held and it wasnt his fault or job to tell me.

Not a great 1st start I get a letter today from my previous mortgage company saying that Member First Mortgage now servicing my loan as of Feb 1st and as if today I still havent received anything from them about a new account number or anything on how to now make my payments and of course they dont have weekend hours to speak with someone, nice way to welcome your new clients!!

I was losing my home in 2010 due to the housing collapse and loss of a job. I was forced to refi under HARP. Luckily found a job, refi was good. I have had to call them 2 times since 2012. Both times unacceptable response time and waste of time. Trying to get rid of PMI, filled out form, didnt hear anything for over 35 business days. Called, sat on hold for 20 plus minutes to find out I would have to pay to get PMI off, even though home values way up. Original eval of property in 2012 was done electronically, during housing decline, not a market search. Loan to value ratio out of wack and they hide behind Freddie Mac.

Only star - because the process was finally completed, but I completed the application Nov 29 but we didnt close until January 20. I know we had holidays and such in the middle there, but this process takes way too long. Way to many hoops to jump through and they keep moving the hoops. Here is your target - oops! Just kidding was the the way member First Mortgage played the game with me. Not at all happy with the communication between the different units within the company. One person in particular was so rude, every time she called I would grind my teeth to keep from telling her what I thought of her and where she should put her mortgage. I was treated as if I was lying to them right out the gate, never treated with respect or honor. Just a horrible experience with the company employees. That said- I did get a decent interest rate, and once all the moving targets were finally hit the process went ok. Just ok, not great, not even good, just ok. Member first seems to be of the mind that they are doing me, the customer a favor, they fail to understand that it is I (and us), who have come to them. That it is us doing them the favor by choosing to work with them. I will never go back to Members First. I recommend you try somewhere else, too.

This was the best experience I had. Thanks to Mr. Jerry Bailey and Ms. Denise Dixon they went above and beyond to help me make it possible to refinance my Mortgage. My interest rate went from 8.99% to 3.37% which lowered my note by $150 a month and also I have 7 less years to pay my on my home. Its a process, but dont rush it. Honestly terrible at every step. Like many other reviewers, obtaining the loan was such a hassle with us constantly being asked for more information and explanations, and our closing date kept getting pushed back further and further (which allowed them to bump the interest rate each time). Now that everything is closed and we are paying off our mortgage I find myself just as frustrated. I have issues navigating their site and logging in to my account every single time. And no app??? What kind of business in this decade doesn t have an app? We used members first because we went through our credit Union (which I typically love), but I would NEVER do that again. If you re being pointed in this direction, just run. The moment we can transfer our loan, we will.

How do I give a 0. Even as I attempt to write this review, my wife s name pulls up: The mortgage is in my name not my wife s name. I was recently charged a late fee, prompting this review. I do not trust this mortgage company. I have communicated 4 times calling them in the last month. Only to be charged a late fee. When I called 2 weeks ago, Member First put me on hold for over 15 minutes. Finally hanging up. I messaged both Credit Union and Member First Mortgage. My end result was a late fee. I then made my last payment through Credit Union 1. Along with a message explaining I can t talk to a voice at First Member . The last time I talked to a voice, Member First pretty easy to put the blame on credit union 1. Horrible service and the the website is a joke . That s the statement I got from a First Member employee. In closing , why is my wife s name pulling up on the Member First Website? Where are the checks and balances my pmt was not late it s lost between those 2 institutions maybe in the clown tent! R Mendez

I would not recommend Member First Mortgage! I have had to call for a payment coupon the last 3 months. Junes was mailed late & had the wrong zip code on it. So payments for July 1st were late or mailed back to the homeowners. Called today for August 1st coupon, the customer service agent thought it was funny. Asked for a manager never got one. Called back got another customer service agent she would not get a manager. Told her I would drive all the way down to the office if I had to. She started trying to push me to drive down there saying come on, really, etc. I have worked in customer service for 35 plus years & am very understanding & sympathetic with my customers when they have a problem. Member First Mortgage will not be understanding or sympathetic even when the mistake was their fault!!!

I would not recommend Member First Mortgage to anyone. My experience with Zach Carlson was horrible. He wouldnt respond to emails, voicemails or text messages. I had to call his supervisor and leave a message to get this man to call me back. When I would finally speak to him, he sounded as though he didnt have a clue as to what was going on. He would request documents that had already been provided to him. My real estate agent had the same experience with him. She said it was the worst transaction she had ever been a part of. If you do use this company, just make sure youre not dealing with Zach Carlson.

Should be named Member Last Mortgage Without laying out an entire novel, my experience with this company is: they have high turnaround or absence, which leads to poor communication, poor job execution, and issues with customers. My Credit Union recommended them for a home purchase. Like some other reviews stated, their ability to know what is needed for paperwork collection is just bad. This causes massive delays to get approvals, schedule closings, and overall interact with people who are on the ball. Now trying to deal with a PMI request, They have now decided to only communicate ambiguously through an email called Escrow. EVERY communication with them has been delayed by weeks. No actual name of a person. Just delayed generic responses. Sometimes responses that are not true in the process you are requesting (training issue?) They simply dont care. Or they are simply overwhelmed. Overall bad experience. I cannot recommend.

I filled out my application on NYE, Friday evening while I was watching the Times Square stuff. I received a call and email from my OUTSTANDING loan officer Aaron S. that SUNDAY! I repeat, I got a loan estimate on a Sunday of a holiday weekend. I showed the loan estimate to another mortgage broker that I had spoken to, and he thought it was fake because the rate was so low. Quick responses, excellent rate, and I ve already been recommending them to everyone I know who is thinking of buying or refinancing.

After getting to the point of thinking we would never get a loan because we are self employed and the house we wanted to buy was not the normal, Member First came through. They were honest, fast and answered my questions right away. Very, very happy!!

I called to ask if they can do a virtual closing, so I dont have to be face to face with a notary during the pandemic. After 6 tries to reach a human, I was told by one of their staff (Phil) that hes had covid twice, and doesnt feel like its enough of an issue that I should care. Eventually I got ahold of the processor Id been working with, whod been blowing me off for a week on the answer to this question (Brooke), who assured me a totally virtual closing is fine. A couple hours later, I got a call from my credit union telling me that MFM decided they cant do a virtual closing, because they arent trained on Docusign (despite having had me fill out several forms using that service already in this process) - nevermind that its the TITLE COMPANYS job to set all that up for the closing. MFM THEN SUGGESTED I USE A TITLE COMPANY OF THEIR CHOICE INSTEAD - A CLEAR RESPA VIOLATION, AND TOTALLY ILLEGAL, IF I WANT TO MEET THE CLOSING DATE. If I had ANY other option for not blowing my closing date, being in breach, and losing my EMD at this point, I would use them. If I am EVER suggested to use MFM again, I will promptly tell whoever makes that suggestion to get bent, and take my business elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE.

We recently purchased a house, and used Members First, because they were affiliated with our credit union. It was not a good experience. It took over 90 days to close, they would ask for information, we would send it, they would say that should do it, and then 2 weeks later, want additional information, or the same information we sent weeks ago. One time they requested info, we sent it, 2 weeks later they told our credit union that we never sent the information they requested. Got kinda snippy, said we were delaying things, until the processor found the information, in her spam Email box. Please do not use this company.

My mortgage consultant, Mike Young, was excellent. He is the reason that we chose Member First over all of the other lenders that we looked at. I was a first time buyer, and Mike was clear and communicative in regards to the process and expectations. I have a strange work schedule and I work long hours, and his prompt and attentive work ethic made efficient communication possible. We closed yesterday with ease; offer to closing was less than a month. I have already referred people to the company because of this consultant, and he deserves a raise. Thank you, Mike!

Would definitely not recommend! Started refinance in January, finally completed in May. Had not even made second payment and they failed to pay my I home owners insurance out of escrow account and let my insurance lapse. Had to make payment to reinstate insurance out of pocket, when they reimbursed my payment it was $105 short. Failed to pay property taxes out of escrow on time. When I complained they said that there were a lot of people that had recently quit. High turnover most of the time equals bad company. If I didnt have $10,000 in closing costs wrapped up in this company I would go somewhere else. I am 3 months in with them now and would not send my worst enemy there. If you are thinking of using them RUN FAR, FAR AWAY!

Buckley Geno is the most unprofessional useless person I have ever worked with. Hes dragging his feet and weve missed our closing date and are at risk for missing the next one. When asked several times if anything else was needed he finally replied with no only to find out (less than a week from our closing) we needed something else. He cant ever be reached by phone, only email and when he does respond he doesnt answers your questions. The mortgage person is who makes the calls to the title company not the buyer. He has no sense of urgency! If something is needed and is time sensitive a phone call should be made. We have zero faith is his work and even less trust. I pray that by some miracle we make our closing and can finally have our home.

We have been dealing with this company trying to buy our house. They keep asking for the same documents over and over and keep wanting more. So far this has been a 6 month process and we have missed our closing date twice. This has been a very stressful and long process that shouldnt have taken this long to do. Can never get ahold of anyone to see what is going on and when you of get ahold of someone all they say is its a waiting game. This process should not take 6 months!!!

Terrible experience and they left me with no lender in the middle of a real estate transaction. I paid $595 for an appraisal then another $450 for an engineers report as requested. It then took them over 20 days to get the appraiser to the property, which put my deposit on the line for due diligence. The appraisal finally came back just a hair under value (which was good news I negotiated the difference), Wayne Fuller then informed me that they cant do the loan because the underwriter wants more comparables. The reason they stated was that a Fannie Mae investor was going to buy the loan and their guidelines state they needed more comparables to support the value. Regardless of what the appraisal report said they refused to use it, even though the value was there and that it was done by a licensed appraiser that they hired which I paid for. They then issued me a decline in the middle of a transaction and forced me to start loan shopping again. No attempt to remedy the issue or offer me a credit towards another property. Not to mention the communication with my lender was very limited. I went over a week without hearing back from them. Public be warned lest you lose money.

I applied for a home equity loan with Northwest Community Credit Union. For some reason Member First Mortgage handled this loan for NWCU. After applying for the loan and filling out their paperwork all communication stopped from them. About a month later a different representative from their company called me. I was told the original representative had left the company. It took another month and starting an application with quicken loans for the Member First loan to get done. The interest rate was slightly better with Member First or I would have gone with quicken. I will never do another loan with Member First.
