Many others would not accept me due to my zip code. Finding a good rate as a retiree now that the Fed has cut rates is difficult; my high-yield savings are no longer as high yield and my T-Bill will probably be just the same. I think this 11-month CD is a good alternative for now.

Brett Foster and Leigh-Ann Hopkins exceeded all expectations throughout the entire process. I hadn’t dealt with Northpointe in the past and wasn’t familiar with them (I live in MN) so wasn’t sure what to expect. Their interest rate was by far the best I could find and I shopped a lot of options. Other brokers said there was no way they could offer the rate they did (Northpointe was 1-1.25% lower) but everything worked perfectly.
I also had A LOT of questions for them because of my unique situation and they were both so patient and helpful in explaining things.
I truly would recommend Brett, Leigh-Ann, and the entire Northpointe team. The online portal for uploading everything was super helpful and they were very proactive at keeping us updated throughout the process.

I have a mortgage loan with this bank. An escrow shortage was identified in December, 2023 with my loan—reassessed property values, no application of the homestead exemption. Contact was made with the assessor’s office, and a letter of reduction was sent to me from the Cook County Assessors Office, and I emailed to Northpointe Bank. I followed up with the bank, only to be told they had not received it. The document was sent to the special email address as instructed by customer service. I sent it, again!
I made two payments on separate dates to eliminate the escrow shortage. The bank checks were marked escrow shortage. Northpointe Bank applied both checks to the principal, NOT the escrow shortage. I have listened to music on hold, written emails, and talked to countless customer service representatives, in order to get this rectified. As of this writing, one check has been applied correctly, but I was just told moments, ago that I should get a call back today or tomorrow with the 2nd check applied to escrow shortage, and removed from the principal!
In our electronic age, I was told that I should have called customer service, and had them apply the funds directly??? The customer service representatives were all pleasant, but there appears to be extreme overall inefficiency with this bank! 5-23-2024

This is the fourth home that I have ever purchased and by far Northpointe Bank has been the easiest loan ever. Steve Brand took care of me through the entire process and his VA loan knowledge is probably the best out there. I highly recommend him and Northpointe Bank.

For AIO loan clients beware: My AIO was paired with Nothpointe and Im not happy with the experience just a week+ in as a customer. Coming from Chase Bank and/or several credit unions in the past- this place is a huge step backwards on most fronts. Depositing a check using mobile app- its been over a week and the funds are on bank hold still. Customer service literally said in the future its worth paying the wire fee in lieu of depositing a check because of how long it takes. Transferring money: when you finally get an external account added, you can plan on many days before the transferred funds land in the account (sounds like a win on interest acrual for the bank). The typical external account link services like Plaid absolutely do not work and you must add ALL external accounts with the 2 deposit verification method, which takes days (hmmm another win on interest acrual). It took over 5 weeks from loan closing to getting account access- another very huge win on interest acrual. Im going to have to get creative going forward banking with them. Good luck and dont close out your current checking account

Zero communication skills from people who answer the phone. You cant talk to escrow department.They charge me twice for the property taxes and it took 5 months to correct their mistake but only after I filled a complaint with State of Michigan. It seams they start getting something done after the Agency for consumer protection send the letter to this incompetent crooks!

Do not trust this company with an escrow account. My homeowner s insurance policy was cancelled due to Northpointe not paying the bill. I called my insurance company and they agreed to reinstate my policy. I called Northpointe again to get them to pay for the policy and the representative told me the insurance company had them on hold too long and I would have to call them myself and have them bill the bank. So I did that and thought everything was taken care of. Last week I received a notice that my monthly payment would go up over 300 dollars a month due to new insurance provided by them costing double what my old policy cost. I contacted them again and was told I need to provide documentation again. I called my insurance company and they would not reinstate my old policy any more due to the amount of time that had passed. I am currently in the process of getting a new policy so I don t get charged any more for their absurd lender provided policy. I had no insurance for months and wasted several hours of my own time on the phone due to Northpointe failing to do their job and pay my insurance twice. As if that failure isn t bad enough, their customer service has been of little to no help throughout the process. Going through these reviews I see that other people had the exact same problem with their insurance department not paying bills. Update 10/11/22 The escrow department once again dropped the ball, and didn t pay my summer taxes. I just received a notice from the township that it is a month past due. Luckily my mortgage was acquired by another bank this month, so I don t have to deal with this joke of a company any more.

I received a great service experience from Molly F. on your team. She assisted me in canceling a recurring transfer that was next to impossible to disable. She was patient, knowledgeable, and even took the time to speak with a representative at my other banking institution to iron everything out. Kit Bradshaw and Brandon Edwards were absolutely outstanding in our recent home purchase. We experienced major setbacks and it didnt faze them at all, they just kept patiently answering questions and explaining what our options were and what the best product was for our situation, and then when everything was finally settled and it came time to close, it went off without a hitch. I could not recommend them and Northpointe Bank more highly. Ask about their All In One loan if you havent heard of it yet.

TRUST ME STAY AWAY FROM NORTHPOINTE BANK!!!! They purchased my mortgage and have been over charging me for escrow insurance since day one. My down payment was large enough I would pay escrow insurance. Their payment portal does not let you change the amount to be paid so youre forced to pay the amount they or not pay at all. I call after Northpointe after seeing this one my first statement. The gentlemen I spoke to said he see theyre over changing and put in a request to have a supervisor call me back. This was in April and I havent heard from them still (7/27/22). I didnt pay Aprils statement hoping they would give me a call back. Nope, they reported to my credit that I was 30 days late payment...!!! These people are unreal and should not be able to operate a bank. I called today and spoke to a very rude lady that placed me on hold for 20 minutes to tell me she has put in a request for a Supervisor to give me a call lol! This place is a complete joke and plan to refinance with another institution. Do not be fooled!!! When I call me bank, they take care of anything I need immediately and have supervisors standing by to help.

Always available for her clients! She is very polite, understanding., smart and always available to help us. We got best interest rate compare to the market. Also Kim always gave us updates through messages as well as emails. She also gave us time for all the necessary documents she needed everytime during the process. I think Alexa DePaolo of Northpoint Bank is an actual angel on earth. I have wanted to purchase a home my entire adult life and Alexa stayed in touch with me for 3 years until I was finally able to do it this June. Her knowledge of the whole process blows me away and her service style made us feel like family. In addition to her being an all-around beautiful human, she made the process so incredibly smooth. Tried to open a savings account with them it has been close to a week with no response to my email and an email that says well be opening this account shortly of course only after they have my routing and account numbers from another bank to make my initial deposit. Within months of having my mortgage refinance to this bank, there was an error in Escrow. First, they paid out a semi- annual tax installment, which wouldve been correct. But then a few weeks later, they paid a years worth of tax installment, causing an overpayment and now a shortage in my Escrow account. I have requested resolution via phone and through their website messaging numerous times with no resolution for almost 2 months now. I am just told Ill get follow up and that its been escalated. This is a terrible start with a new mortgage company and Im feeling a bit regretful going with this company. I just want am answer as to why this happened and how to resolve before my monthly payment increases.

Terrible experience. Dan was extremely unprofessional took weeks to get answers to simple questions and then when he said we qualified for 30k less then we originally talked about.we had some questions and he became very short and defensive. Then after our phone call he proceeded to tell us through email that he didn t have time to service us and that we should take our business else where. I d recommend any other bank or credit union first.

Crooks! This company withdrew several extra PMI costs from my Escrow account after receiving payoff in an effort to decrease my refund. The company has admitted fault and promised a refund will be issued. It has been 4 months and no refund in sight. Im tired of dealing with this.

I have been attempting to have my PMI removed. After providing documentation that we were below 80% LTV, the person I was emailing, Darrin Fein, simply stopped replying! Ive called, emailed customer service, used the customer service chat... All without reply. Take your business to another bank!

I cant say enough great things about our loan officer who is readily available and an amazing advocate for our personal and business loan endeavors. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the departments behind the scenes once the loan is secured. We are about to have our 3rd round of delinquent taxes because the department in charge of our escrow account continues to screw things up. Each tax season (winter and summer) I have to make multiple calls before our taxes are paid correctly. Very time consuming and frustrating when the whole reason I decided to set up an escrow account was to make our lives easier! For any future loans, I will be opting out of this bank managing my escrow account as they are highly incompetent at completing this task.

They service my mortgage loan and they dont even know Fannie Mae guidelines for PMI removal. In spite of meeting those guidelines, they have so far refused to approve an appraisal. Wondering how many people these uninformed servicer have turned back for PMI removal and other mortgage issues. Terribly disappointed that Im having to call Fannie Mae to remind these folks of the guidelines that they should know and work with. 1st Update: I paid for an appraisal, money was debited from my checking account, the appraisal was not approved yet they decided to keep the money. After many calls, emails and over two weeks, Northpointe Bank has refused to refund the money. 2nd Update: Appraisal payment has been refunded.

We couldnt have asked for a better experience getting a loan for our home. Matthew Arcaris team was amazing! Adam and Betsy were on top of things and kept us updated every step of the way. They kept everyone accountable for allowing us to close as quickly as possible, and were readily available for any questions. My husband and I are working full time with 2 little babies and just moved states, they made this process so easy for us. Cannot recommend them enough!

Very disappointed with my first month at Northpointe Bank. They purchased my home loan. The first correspondence with them was that I was behind on my payments and owed two months of payments (which I was not). I immediately set up an online account and set up automatic payments with my checking account. (The website did not show I was behind. I think they did this snail mail startle correspondence purposefully to bring attention to their purchase of my account.) When the day came to process they sent an email with no identity as Northpointe saying my payment had been declined. Hoping it was spam I checked the website and it had not been processed. I tried again to set up automatic payments and pay a one time payment and it said it was declined (other companies are able to process my automatic payments from the same checking account). I tried to call. No answer. Extremely disappointed with my first month of experiences with this company. I think they are purposefully making it difficult to make payments.

Terrible customer service. No one seems to know anything. Weeks go by with no response. Get conflicting information and emails from different people. Got a response from a 3 week old email from someone unaware of where we are in the current appraisal process asking me to pay double what I just paid! Mistakes galore yet no accountability. Extremely unprofessional. Go elsewhere, we have four home loans and never experienced such terrible service. Stay away! This company is the kind of company that creates financial market crisis!

They could not have been incompetent if they tried! Took us several calls to make them aware that they need to factor in summer and winter taxes. Never received any call to thank us for correcting their mistake let alone an apology! Each time we called we could not speak with someone who could help and were promised a call back, but again they re to incompetent to work a telephone! We just received a letter in the mail with our payment increase. Then when we went to sell they were so slow to respond it pushed our closing back! Like I said they could not be more incompetent if they tried! Do not recommend will never come back!

We recently worked with Ryan Gardner to buy our first home. In this competitive market, working with Ryan made all the difference! We were up against an all-cash offer and Ryan was able to talk to the listing agent to go through why our offer was just as good as the other one. Initially we applied at 5 banks/credit unions to find the best mortgage rate and the lowest closing costs. Ryan Gardner at Northpointe Bank was the only one that seemed to dedicate time and get the ball rolling fast enough out of all the banks/credit unions that we applied to. We chose to stick with Ryan. He kept everything moving faster than we even expected, and was always fast and efficient in everything needing to be done. Karli his assistant and he answered questions ASAP. We had self-employment income that made our application a little more difficult, but they found work-arounds and made it work. They are are a great team, and we would recommend them to anyone wanting to go through the mortgage process.

I am experienced with mortgages loans to a degree that I know what I need to qualify, and that I did have what was needed in my profile to qualify. I have been trying for almost 3 years and extremely hard since February 2020. By March 2020 all factors were aligned to qualify for a loan but I could not find a loan officer that would take my file seriously. They refused to have an actual conversation and engage with me just stating I was wrong and I did not qualify. I had realtors and mortgage brokers completely ignoring my communications. When I met Ellen though a mutual relation, Ellen took the time to listen and look at my file, I explained to her I know my case would not be easy, but I know I met the qualifications to purchase a home. Ellen and her associate Ashlee asked for all the needed documents to look over and see if they could pre-qualify me and my wife. After a few days I received a call form Ellen where she explained she had great news, she said she was impressed with how much I seamed to know on this topic, and they yes I did and would qualify to purchase a home, she was saddened and upset to know that other mortgage brokers would not help my family simply because they wanted an easy case and did not want to work for their client. Ellen reinforced with me it would be a hard process, but if I would stick with her she would stick with me, and she guaranteed that we would get my family in a home. We went through 16 home offers or attempted offers from August until we finally closed and Ellen stuck with us through every hiccup, offer loss, hard spot, and confusion and helped secure my family a home we needed very much. For my family it was not just an investment, this is our new home, we have been in medical housing for over 3.5 years because my wife is terminal, this offers us a home again, a place to have our family dog back with us, a place to heal and see through treatments in a place that is ours again and that we can feel comfortable. This will help my family heal in many ways and help regenerate some energy lost over these last many years. I really appreciate Ellen and Ashlee taking on this process with us and fighting along side my family to get this home purchased so my family can have peace again. Ellen chose to work, and work very hard to get this deal finished, and she did not back down because it was not an easy open shut case like the majority of mortgage brokers we have talked to here in Denver. I am very thankful for her and Ashlee. Today February 19, 2021 I can say my family has a home again!

Since Im no longer a client at this bank I feel that its safe to make a review about them. First off, Ive never dealt with such a unorganized bank before and am suprised that such a bank can exist legally. Anyhow, my experience starts with my loan officer. Throughout the process they ended up loosing documents, which resulted in them asking me to resubmit multiple documents that I already finished and submited to them. But thats not the worst part, when it came time to pay the earnest money deposit I got notified that it needed to be paid, not just on the day it was due, but 30 minutes before the deadline to wire the money from the bank and this was while I was with a notary getting my documents finialized and had to put that on hold which not only messed up my schedule but messed up the schedule of the notary who had other appointments to make. Then when it came time to make the first payment on my house, I recieved the wrong payment number from the mortgage officer which resulted in my payment getting lost and the workers of the bank having to take a while to find out where the payment went. And those workers who took the time to look for it are the reason why my review is a 2 star one and not a 1 star one. Either way, I never plan on having any sort of dealing with this bank and I recommend that you do not either.

We originally contacted Melissa DeRoba on the advice of our real estate when we ran into a problem with another lender. Melissa listened to us and immediately said We can help, and boy did they ever. They got our daughter and her family moved back home in record time and we loverd her for that. Stephanie Ward was also right on top of things and it was an easy mortgage process. We are now using them for a refi and another purchase within a few months. Way to go Melissa and Stephanie: great teamwork with good results!

We applied for a home loan in June of 2020. Over a period of six months we provided hundreds of documents per Northpointes requests. After telling us for six months that they were just a few documents away from making the loan, Northpointe, called me and said that they could not verify information and would not make the loan unless I could provide more documents. The underwriter even rejected original IRS documents? When I did not provide the documents they sent a decline letter. They didnt even call and let me know that they had declined the loan. I would not have minded if Northpointe had simply turned the loan down within a reasonable time but instead they wasted hours of my time gathering documents that they claimed were not sufficient. The bottom line is that this bank is not a place that you should try to do business with.

Weve been working on 3 refis for 3+ months. We also purchased a home and that loan was a cluster too. They have paperwork for 3 months to show that we were VA eligible but they didnt know how to read it. Has us running crazy for weeks. Tom Jarrett is awesome, he was very responsive and did what he could to help with the chaos. His boss Craig, total jerk on the phone and basically told me to deal with it. Ill never use them again, very disappointed.

Ne-ver again!!! Northpointe Bank is a horrible loan servicer. Year after year an escrow check was RETURNED to me stating that only a certain amount can remain in the account. The issue is year after year my mortgage payment has increased. I intentionally contributed more to my escrow to ensure that my payment would remain the same taking property tax/home insurance increase into account. I called customer service to express my concern and requested to speak with someone in the escrow department. I was told this department is extremely busy & Ill receive a CALL back in a few days, 7 days max. Unfortunately, it took 2 WEEKS for response and it was NOT a call back. Instead, I received a generic e-mail from an escrow team member initials T.M. Shortly after T.M. emailed me again once he thoroughly read my concern. Still, I was unsatisfied. I was PROMISED a phone CALL. Matters concerning MY MONEY & MY HOME are IMPORTANT! I deserve an explanation via telephone and then a follow up of the conversation via email. Why did it take 2 WEEKS just for an email from the escrow team?? DO NOT TAKE OUT A HOME LOAN & OPEN ESCROW WITH THIS BANK. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS WHO HOLD YOUR FUNDS HOSTAGE. THEIR INVESTORS WILL INCREASE YOUR MORTGAGE YEAR AFTER YEAR FOR THEIR OWN GAINS. THEN NORTHPOINTE BANK WILL TAKE FOREVER TO RESPOND TO SERIOUS MATTERS SUCH AS YOUR MONEY & YOUR SHELTER.

Our mortgage officers were Adam Dublet and Nichole May. They were outstanding from start to finish. We had a very difficult case, as we were first-time home buyers, but Adam and Nichole made it seem as it was the easiest case ever. Ryan Gardner was our loan officer. I have had several mortgages and he is the best loan officer I ever worked with. The time frame from start to finish was a little over a month. We found some better interest rates at another bank and Ryan went to bat with management to match the rates. The loan closing person even came to our house. Awesome experience - I would recommend Ryan to anyone.

Dont use Northpointe Bank they will cost you money! After a two month long closing process in which the rate of 3.9% with an automatic payments that we were quoted climbed to 4.45% our loan officer never gave us the paperwork to apply for the automatic payments and did not inform us that it needed to be done prior to closing. After our loan officer admitted this was his fault he will not give us an exception for the mistake he made. Now the rate is at 4.7% and very close to other banks rates that I considered using which would not have had closing costs involved. Dont use this bank!

Carle LeMaster a Navy veteran did a fantastic job getting me my original loan when everyone was saying I couldnt get it. He knew all the rules of getting a VA loan and I was able to buy my house. 11 months later rates dropped and he helped me get a IRRRL loan to drop my % rate on my loan. I went from 4.25% down to 3.125%, which was completely awesome! Recommend Carl to anyone especially veterans! One brother/sister helping another out.

We worked with Julie Raphael at Northpoint. This was the best mortgage financing experience we have ever had in all our mortgage financing experiences (were a military family so weve financed a mortgage at least 10 times now). Julie was fantastic from start to finish as she laid out all the steps we needed to do in plain English and kept us up to date along the way (which was important as the market and interest rates were going up and down so we were very concerned about if we were going to get the rate we had signed a lock on). In the end we got a 2.75% 30 year fixed ... had no idea that was even possible!!! Again, this was a fantastic experience and we will continue to tell our friends and relatives about Julie and Northpoint Bank! Thank you!!!

As a new home buyer and refinancer, I approached North Pointe Bank as a naive clientele with little knowledge about refinancing. After contacting Timothy, my loan officer, I started asking several questions everyday every Hour for about two weeks. Tim was prompt in answering my inquiries. Unfortunately, I got a better deal from another bank and left Timothy. With the other bank, my service experience was very discouraging. They couldn t beat the prompt responses and quality service I received from Tim. So, I came back to North Pointe Bank because of Tim. He gave me all I wanted from simple lessons on key issues in refinancing to confidence building. He was prompt in responding to my endless questions. He helped me to close before the scheduled time. He also changed my attitude towards internet based refinancing. So, I am exceptionally happy working with North Pointe. particularly with Tim. . Ugg. Where to begin. Great mortgage experience up until year and half later when we got a notice from Northpointe that our condo association insurance had expired. I am the President of our condo Association so I knew that wasnt the case. We had simply switched providers and Northpointe wanted proof otherwise we would be bill for homeowners insurance by Northpointe. I immediately did what the letter said and logged into the site Northpointe provided and uploaded a copy of the insurance paperwork. The website never said whether the upload was successful or not - a few weeks later got a second letter from Northpointe saying they needed proof of insurance still. This time I called and got a lady at one of Northpointes vendors called PFIC (a third party) who shared with me that she saw the form I uploaded but it was too big a file. I asked her if I could email her proof of insurance, which I did. In fact our insurance agent emailed it directly and she confirmed she had it and even emailed back a question which I answered. I followed up the same day asking if we were all set and no reply. Followed up with two separate emails later asking if we were all set and no reply. A few weeks later we got a third letter from Northpointe and this time they said we had been billed for homeowners insurance. I immediately emailed the person I had dealt with before and CCd northpointe at their support email and got an automated response from Northpointe. I waited a few days and nothing from anyone. So, I called back and spoke to the same lady as I had talked to a few weeks earlier who after putting me on hold twice and reviewing our previous email thread seemed lost and twice I asked why we hadnt received replies to which she had no good reason. She said the insurance issue hadnt been take taken care of yet. I asked her to fix it while I was on the phone. After being on the phone a while she eventually said it was fixed but Id be getting a bill for the time we werent covered. (huh?). She said it would be about $16 that time period. I was pretty upset so I sent an email to Northpointe support explaining that I wanted a refund as we were covered and there was never a lapse and never had been and gave a full explanation per what Ive written herein and still no reply from Northpointe. Bottom line, their third party insurance administrator sucks as far as Im concerned thats on Northpointe for using them and Northpointes email support is seemingly non-existent. My time, trouble and emotions were taxed and we are talking a whopping $16 - which is sad because its not worth my time to call them or stop in to their office and they lose future business because we (an perhaps someone else who reads this will not get another loan with them over it).

Revised rating to 3 star from initial 1 star, after initial problem with the confusing website was fixed, good customer care supported to resolve the issue quickly. My loan was recently transferred from Mr Cooper to Northpointe Bank and I tried to create an account to be able to access my mortgage account and website very confusing, it was directing to open checking account instead of giving the selection what I want to choose, in my case, access the mortgage account.

My husband and I purchased our home in January, 2019. At the time it was with CBC Mortgage Agency and they sold our loan to Northpointe Bank immediately following the closing. We escrow for our homeowners insurance with Northpointe Bank. Fast forward to January, 2020 and we receive a letter from Northpointe on the same day as we received a letter from our insurance carrier that the insurance has expired due to non-payment. I called AAA to make sure they had the correct mortgagee information and then I faxed the insurance information to Northpointe Bank per the instructions on their letter.. I also called Northpointe which is where this gets real fun. I was on hold with the insurance department at Northpointe for almost an hour and when I finally was able to speak to a representative, I informed her that we do have insurance with AAA and that we escrow with Northpointe. I also told her that I faxed the letter from AAA to them and wanted to be sure they received the information. I was told....you need to call back in 48 hours after we update our system. Are you kidding me?!!! Customer service seems to be a thing of the past and Northpointe Bank is on that band wagon too!

My loan was recently transferred from Mr Cooper to Northpointe Bank on January 1, 2020. I had paid my Janaury 1, 2020 mortgage payment on December 27, 2019 to Mr. Cooper before the loan was sold to Northpointe Bank. Northpointe Bank has said they had not received the payment which is not true. I had been in touch with Aubrie (wont provide last name on Google review) for over a week with no resolution. On top of this I received a letter from Northpointe saying my mortgage will be sold again on February 1, 2020. This is complete fraud and now my credit score will be affected by this and I have reached out numerous times asking for the issue to be resolved. I have filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and will get an attorney at this point.

I consider Northpointes promise of higher interest rates to be fraudulent. And here is why: I opened an ultimate money market account at Northpointe Bank about 1.5- or 2 yrs ago, based upon my web search for best interest rates. So, I got the monthly statements that showed my fixed interest rate (2.4% I think) and interest earned. Interest rates across the marketplace then went up. But, I was OK with what I had. I had stopped looking at my statements, since I assumed I was still getting the same or higher interest. Then, I looked at my last statement and found that I had only been getting 0.4% interest for several months! I looked up best interest rates on the internet, and Northpointe STILL showed up in the top tier. I called Northpointe to question why I was only getting 0.4%. I was told that my interest rate was only an INTRODUCTORY rate that reverted to their much lower standard rate after 1 year. I had never been contacted by Northpointe to notify me of my lower rate. I never knew they considered it an introductory rate. The various websites that list best interest rates do not say anything about Northpointes rate being a 1-yr introductory rate. No other bank has such an introductory rate. The agent told me that I could request the higher rate, and that she could only give me the higher rate for the current month and going forward. This is simply FRAUD, in my opinion. Northpointe is advertising a high rate that the bank only intends to apply for 1 year -- unless you specifically ask for the higher rate after you notice your rate has dropped suddenly on your bank statement. I removed all of my funds and transferred to another bank that has a continuous, steady interest rate-- not subject to non-obvious policies.about intro rates, etc.. I suggest that you avoid Northpointe and deposit your funds into a bank that will honor you as a customer and be honest in its policies and up-front with its customers. Honesty is the best policy.

I found Northpointe Bank from a link on Credit Karma. I compared rates with my own bank, and with my current lender, and Northpointe offered me the bar rate and lowest closing costs. My loan officer communicated with throughout the process, and answered my questions.

Incredible experience!! My wife and I just finished building our new home and the process of getting a construction loan was very new to us but Northpointe made the process very easy and were able to answer all of our questions along the way. Our loan officer Matthew Bergin even locked us in at a great rate and was very responsive to our emails! The whole team over there treated us really well and left no question unanswered. For a self-employed, first-time home buyer, I cannot ask for more. I had a great experience. Especially Justin Freedman and Adam Luther were great. Justin was more like represented me at Northpointe. He was my point of contact, helped me securing a lower than expected rate and made everything look so simple. Even the paper work way less. Guess, 30 signatures.

The online application lacks an option for a joint account. You need to open a personal account first, and then submit a paper (!) form to provide a joint owner information. The process which does not belong to the 21th century.

I really appreciated the help loan officer Jason Smith offered during the process. He was very efficient in returning emails, calls and texts. Made the process very smooth. No complaints with the service during the process. My only complaint is that the loan was sold to another lending service within a month of closing. I did not expect this but maybe I should have. In looking back I should have worked with my local bank, at least my info wouldnt be transferred....Lesson learned....

This was my first experience with Northpointe bank and I must say they made the whole process extremely easy and painless. They were very up front with everything and always available to answer any questions that would come up. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone in the market for a loan.

Tried to get a cash out refinance to do some remodel work at our home. Thought their rates sounded great but turns out the banker misquoted us, then they hired a bum appraiser (missed multiple pertinent facts) so we couldnt proceed anyway AND refused to refund our deposit even though hiring of the appraiser was 100% in their control. The banker and her manager supposedly thought the value was low but didnt offer to reappraise. We ended up going through a different bank who hired a different appraiser and the value was significantly higher. Left feeling like the whole process was one large bait and switch.

First, Cherie and Nikkie are two of most professional people Ive had the pleasure to work with. Ive been on a year long journey to find the right home and have my bid accepted. With every new opportunity, I found myself confronted with new problems and challenges. So what did Cherie and Nikki excel at to earn my trust and respect? Regardless of time or day of the week, they made themselves available to approve my latest bid request. When they learned of my VA benefits, they submitted an application for a special Texas veterans benefit program that resulted in a significantly lower interest rate on my loan. Finally, after the seller asked for an earlier closing date, Cherie and Nikkie were able to pull it off despite the fact that May is the busiest time of the year. I could go on,.but you can see my point. I was not just a customer, I was a person., And for that, I will always be grateful for everything they did to make my dreams come true.

I hate to write this bad review because I dont think this is a reflection of everybody else in the company. Ive had no problem with any other people in the company. However, I feel that I need to inform others of the disappointing experience I had with Jeremy. He was the officer in charge of my loan application. To summarize my experience and the experiences of my Realtor and Attorneys office, Jeremy had a lack of accountability, lack of communication, and lack of customer care. He failed to take ownership of his mistake. He failed to thoroughly review the docs and addendum sent to him. An addendum was sent to him two and a half weeks ago and yet neither I nor the real estate agent was informed that the terms of the addendum conflicted with bank policies. I agree that it is against bank rules, but we should have been at least been notified immediately that this was the case. I am not the expert in banking/lending so I expect someone with better experience to review this type of detail for me. It was not until the very last day of the closing period where I and my realtor notified about this issue. Because our closing date had been pushed back three or four times because of lack and delayed communication between Jeremy and the attorneys office, the seller would no longer approve of new terms and we are forced to terminate the deal. This is just one example where I felt Jeremy did not go above and beyond what is expected of him. Finally, I did not feel that Jeremy really took ownership of the matter. I lost my Earnest Money Deposit and wasted Appraisal and Inspection costs in the deal. Yet, I did not once even get an apology from him. I hope this review is taken seriously so that this problem is avoided by whoever uses your service in the future.

if your not from michigan horrible customer service over the phone they never answer then you will be put on hold for a long time and all they to help is direct you to use their website thats always their answer for everything but their website aint got all the features and it has glitches RESPONDING TO OWNER REPLY: DEFINITELY NOT TRUE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE MAYBE YOUR EMPLOYEES ARE TELLING YOU WRONG I WOULD CALL YOURSELF TO SEE HOW MY REVIEW IS ACCURATE

I got my original construction loan (over 3 yrs ago)with them and the process was sub pair at best. However, they were the only ones willing to work with me which is why i gave them at least one star. The loan was a 7yr arm so I needed to refinance shortly after before it came due. So this year we went with them to get a 30yr fixed. The process was quick and we always felt pressured to get the paperwork in so they can get it in before months end. During the process I constantly asked them I dont want my mortgage sold because we had horrible experiences in the past. They assured me that it was small and if it was they would still handle all transactions. Well they sold it before we even made our first payment and now we are struggling to contact the company they sold it to so we can make our first payment. Let alone the new company has not even communicated with us yet on terms and conditions and the reviews I find online about this new company are horrible. WHAT KIND OF BANK WOULD DO THAT TO ITS CUSTOMERS!! Call me old fashion but I would rather deal with a bank in my hometown where I know my payments are being processed and I thought Northpointe would be that. I WAS MISTAKEN. Any advice I would give is to go with to any other bank besides Northpointe. They will rush you through the process and sell it off before you even know it. Customer Service is NOT NUMBER ONE in there eyes

So far, not great. A PITA to open an account that I need to pay my mortgage that this bank bought. They dont even have a branch within 2500 miles from where I live. When will this country stop letting banks sell loans to other backs? Its ridiculous!

Horrific.............. 3.60% on a 5 yr. CD is a good rate.....but, folks, run the other way!!! I told them I wanted to transfer my annuity from Iowa to open a 5 yr. CD at their bank. It was a fiasco from the get go. They told me I could do this---tax deferred. (that was incorrect). I had send a cashiers check up to them to add to my annuity....they then started trying to talk me into a roth IRA.....I never wanted that, nor mentioned that. When I had had all I could take...I told them to forget it & just send my check back......which took too long. Getting them on the phone---or to return a call takes an act of congress. FOLKS.......RUN FOR THE HILLS...... this bank is loony-toon land!!!!

Horrific front-line customer service. Had questions regarding the procedure of paying off an All-In-One Loan and received a different answer each of the 3 times I called. Have a question about their savings account, referred to website. Have a questions about wire transfers, referred to website. Have a questions about the website, referred to website, literally. That would be acceptable if the website actually had informative content, it does not. The loan officers, Tiffany Ogle, are excellent when you get to them but the general team is untrained and unaware of their banks policies and procedures. The rates can make the headache bearable but I advise to identify your key people early and never call the 800 number. I am an out of state customer (not in MI).

I just opened a savings account with Northpointe because the interest rate is among the best in the country AND it is guaranteed for 12 months - a rarity. My only quibble with the online application is that you cant initially create a joint account. You must add the 2nd owner afterwards, by mailing a paper form and copy of the joint owners ID. That seems unnecessarily cumbersome. I do look forward to those interest credits, though.
