I have over heard the staff at the Ann Arbor branch braging about physical conflicts that they have won. Even from the Manager Dasha. She can be nice but if you have any difficulty, she goes out of her way to be unhelpful, aggressive even.

Jason was fantastic to work. He was extremely knowledgeable on the entire mortgage process, and walked us through each step along the way. He presented all options in an unbiased fashoin, and was very transparent about the strengths and benefits of different products. He was always available to talk (day, night or weekend) and was very responsive and timely in his replies to our questions. We don t plan to buy another house soon, but would highly recommend him to any prospective home buyers.

As a first-time homebuyer, I was coming into the mortgage process as a complete newbie. My realtor recommended Jason Robinson to me, and Im so, so glad she did: he had an introductory call with me over the summer to answer any and all questions I had about pre-qualifying, down payment percentages, etc. It wasnt until a few months later that I was ready to submit offers, and Jason was incredible - responsive over email and text, providing letters customized to the address, always with a friendly and professional disposition (I know its the business but having someone respond after 9pm on a Friday so we could get our offer in first impressed me greatly). I came into the office to open my account after getting mortgage approval, and everyone at the front desk was so helpful and friendly - really had a neighborly feel to it. Had a lovely conversation with Dasha as we went through the paperwork, and the efficient team had me out the door in less than twenty minutes. I didnt have an appointment, but Jason popped in to introduce himself in person -- when youre making one of your largest lifetime purchases, its those extra details that go a long way in making you feel like a person and not just an account number. I have great appreciation for the staff at LMCU. Jason even came to the closing to share some additional information about how the escrow process worked and again made sure all of our questions were answered. Couldnt be happier with his service: we closed in less than 30 days and there was never a time when I felt out of the loop. Thanks so much, Jason and LMCU!

Working in the health care industry during COVID, I had very little time to apply for a mortgage. Jason went above and beyond--replying to my emails and reviewing documents when I was able to send, which was mostly 10-11pm in the evening. He did so over several consecutive nights; responding to phone calls and texts very quickly. Close which was estimated to not be possible to complete in a short time frame was completed as a result of his diligent work. He was fast, responsive, and helpful throughout the process. I recently switched from a mega mortgage company of North America to LMCU and I couldn t be happier! LMCU in general, and my broker, Jason Robinson, in particular, are the exact opposite of the nameless, faceless, bureaucracy I purchased my last home with. Jason was always very easy to get in touch with, he always explained things clearly, he always followed through, and he always got things done correctly the first time even with a very tight closing timeline. Jason Robinson was really wonderful to work with this past year, when my spouse and I purchased our first home. As first-time homeowners, we were really apprehensive and overwhelmed by the process, and it meant a lot to have a trustworthy lender like Jason in our corner. Jason went above and beyond our expectations; He was incredibly patient in explaining process, very quick to write a letter (even after regular work hours) when we were ready to make an offer, and after closing on the house, he has continued to be there to answer questions large and small. He was a really reassuring voice during the process, and at one point, I even joked that he served as something of a therapist during the process. Highly recommended.

This was my second time working with Jason Robinson to secure a mortgage and I was very happy with the service I received. Jason was always available to talk through any questions I had and he made the loan process very easy. His vast knowledge of loans in general made it very easy to figure out the best loan to apply for. LMCUs online loan system also made it very easy to submit documents and to keep track of what was still needed to complete the loan. Overall a positive experience.

After a big bank turned us down for a loan because we have income from self-employment, I reached out to LMCU. WOW was I happy I did! Roberta and Dasha were absolutely amazing in processing my home equity loan. I have not always had the best experience going through the mortgage / loan process (lets face it, most consumers dont get a mortgage THAT many times in their lives and really rely on the expertise of their bankers). I dont think we could have been in better hands. Roberta and Dasha worked hard to get all the answers I needed quickly and talked me through every step in the process. I would highly recommend the team at LMCU!

Jason Robinson and Sara Piper from Lake Michigan Credit Union help me close my loan within 10 days due to my special needs on my SUPER complex loan. And at a great rate... During the whole process, they communicates with me through email, text, phone calls from Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 11:50 pm... We just finish the loan yesterday, I still can not believe they can finish my loan in 10 days. They did everything they could do to make this happen in a super professional way. Amazing!!

We bought our first home at the end of 2020, and after talking to several financial institutions about mortgage options, we concluded Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) was the best fit for our needs. (Because LMCU is small and independent, they were able to offer far more flexibility in terms of products and customization than the bigger banks we considered.) Jason Robinson, the loan officer we worked with, was extremely knowledgeable and very patient about answering the many questions I had. (Sara Piper, the mortgage consultant who kept everything organized, was remarkably helpful and pleasant to deal with too.) There were a few minor hiccups, but in general, the process went pretty smoothly, everything moved quickly, and closing was seamless. Overall, our experience was definitely a positive one, and wed certainly choose to work with Jason at LMCU again.

Working with Jason as a first time homebuyer was great! He was a bit slower on the prequalification than the other lenders by a day but had additional details the other lenders missed (no PMI, low-balled insurance costs, etc.). Once my offer was accepted, he encouraged me to tell him about other lender rates and he would work to match them. I initially talked with 3 lenders, but finalized with him b/c of his clear communication on what my costs would be. After that, any questions I had I usually either got ahold of him through phone without issue or within an hour of calling. There were many documents through LMCU, but Sara and John were very helpful to get it done. Documentation was complete almost 2 weeks before closing, with final approval 7 days before.

I have a very hard time believing all the 5 star reviews are legitimate. I ve had nothing but trouble with this credit union. LMCU reports inaccurate credit information and refuses to correct it. If you value your credit score do not do business with Lake Michigan Credit Union. Unethical organization.

We have been LMCU customers for a while and have both a checking account and savings account with them. When it came time to shop for a mortgage, LMCU was the first place we checked-out. Luckily for us, it was the only place we needed to look! Jason and Sara were very helpful throughout the process. We were first-time home buyers, so the process was new to us. And while we did a lot of research ahead of time, we still felt overwhelmed and anxious at times. Jason Robinson with LMCU helped us recently with the refinancing of our home in Ann Arbor. We could not have been more pleased with every aspect of his stewarding of this process. Jason communicated promptly and thoroughly with us at every step and quickly problem solved any minor issues that came up during the process. He is very experienced and knowledgeable about the mortgage and refinancing processes with particular knowledge of the market and other involved professionals in the Ann Arbor area, which, in our case, made the difference between no deal and a fabulous outcome. Jason Robinson did a FANTASTIC job handling our mortgage application while we relocated from Texas. Our situation was somewhat complicated by the pending sale of our existing property in Texas, but with Jasons help we were able to find a price range and mortgage product that allowed us to purchase a home without a contingency on the sale of our Texas home. His experience handling relocations made a big difference for us, and he was able to offer us very competitive rates on the mortgage. He even managed to save our original closing date when the city requested a surprise fix before issuing the Certificate of Occupancy for our new construction; he literally brought in the COO 15 minutes before closing. It was pretty epic. Anyway, you should work with Jason, who is also a super nice guy!

Jason Robinson was very easy to get in touch with, very flexible with timing, and quick to get paperwork processed even in a limited time frame. I was able to get a great interest rate with no points with his help. Even though we had a unique family situation he went out of his way to make sure we got the best loan option for us. The main thing that could be improved is helping first time home buyers through the process, explaining the specific requirements of the loan that one will be approved for (such as the requirement to open an account with them), and a little more thorough in calculating taxes and hoa fees when giving us a sample monthly payment for a home we are interested in. We were not living in the city and were unable to have face to face meetings which may have made these discussions more difficult. All in all though he was really great to work with.

Besides being happy with our experience with the company, I cant say enough positive things about working with our Loan Officer, Jason Robinson. Weve worked with Jason in the past when we purchased our first home as well as fast forward to today and the next chapter exciting chapter for our family (moving to our next house). Jason is prompt and responds quickly. Hes knowledgeable and always has an answer or follows up immediately with one. Besides that, hes familiar with the other side of the coin as his wife is a real estate agent. Theres so many benefits to having this background too. Worked with Jason Robinson on a mortgage loan for my first house purchase. Jason was incredible to work with. We put in a couple of offers on house, and Jason was ready on a moments notice to get us the paper work to make our offer as strong as possible. If you know the housing market in Ann Arbor, that s a huge benefit to have. There were multiple times that we d see a house during an open house on a Saturday or Sunday that offers were due later that evening which he was able to get personalized pre-approval letters on time to get the offers out. Jason is extremely knowledgeable as well, not just with question about the mortgage, but going through the process of purchasing a house. His experience with helping other home buyers in Ann Arbor showed when it came time to help us. He was double checking all the steps we were taking, offered up advice if he found something concerning, and was really working for us. He really made us feel like we weren t just going through the process alone. As for the mortgage, Jason was also a rock star. My application wasn t the easiest by any means, and I wasn t making the process any easier. Between selling a personal business during the time of looking at houses and working full time (including work related travel during the week before closing), Jason always made himself available and helped out anyway he could. Whether is was getting information out to insurance companies, helping compile and organize documents and answering any number of questions (or theoretical situations), he was more than happy to get me answers, if he didn t know the answer, track down answers, and run numbers for me. He even helped with some insurance issues that popped up at the last minute. Giving Jason a 5-star review isn t even fair to him, he deserves even more. I would recommend Jason to any of my friends and family members. If you re going to get a mortgage on a house, go with Jason, you be very glad you did.
