I walked in with 2 watches that needed batteries and a gold bracelet I wanted cut down. I was in the store a total of 15 minutes. There service is quick and very friendly. One gentlemen helped with my watches and David looked at my bracelet and gave me 2 options. I went with the 2nd of course and he didn't charge me. RUN...don't walk to this shop. I do not own any interest in this business or have any type of relationship or connection to anyone at this business. POPLAR Jewelry and Loan (Joppa Rd location specifically, although others are good as well) is without a doubt the best place around to go for any jewelry needs whether it's a purchase, to sell, or for repairs. Their inventory is amazing and is updated regularly and their priced cannot be beat. If for some reason they don't have exactly what you want they will order for you. A very large portion of their inventory is brand new, and ranges from small inexpensive jewelry pieces to very expensive top designer pieces. Additionally, their electronics, tools, watches and anything else you.can imagine are available at incredible deals. Ive veen shopping here for over 10 years and am always more than pleased with any purchases ive made.
The BEST thing however about this place is the trust factor and honesty of the employees and management. POPLAR is my go to for so many needs and wants.A+++++++ all day long

My husband and I stopped into this pawn shop for the first time earlier this evening. My husband was actually in the market for an Xbox game or something to that effect and of course I took the opportunity to browse the womens bridal rings and sets. First when we walked in I was truly amazed at how beautiful and clean the store was and how much inventory they had. Ive been in a lot of pawn shops that are just dingy and you almost just dont even want to buy anything because its just so cramped and crowded with merchandise. Everyone that worked there seemed to be so nice and so down to earth and even though it was busy they took their time with each customer. My husband was initially working with Chad to look at Xbox consoles but soon the attention shifted and focused onto me purchasing a beautiful diamond wedding ring. My husband and I are celebrating our 14th anniversary next week and he really wanted to do something nice for me and we saw this ring that was truly stunning. We initially wanted to put it on layaway but did not have the funds to do so at that time and hoped that it would be available later on that week so that we could come back and put it on layaway. Chad suggested that we apply for financing and we did and were approved for the full amount. Chad walked us through the process and it did not take long before I was wearing my ring and walking out the door. I wear a size 9 ring and so you can imagine my surprise that the ring fit perfectly and did not even need to be sized!! Chad cleaned it up for me and the process was done!! Let me just say that as anyone knows first impressions are lasting. And everyone who works there -- especially Chad -- truly made a lasting first impression upon my husband and myself that truly will last a lifetime!! We were so impressed with everyone including Kevin the manager, of course Chad our salesman who is the assistant manager, and Dave and Colin and Jacob who are salesman. We were asking questions of everyone and everyone seemed to play a part in getting us in and getting us out in a timely fashion but also making sure that we were informed and making sure that we were happy and in agreement with everything from the word go. I have never had such a wonderful time at a pawn shop. Most employees at pawn shops are sketchy and always trying to make deals and you always feel like theyre trying to get over on you somehow. But not this place and not these people!! For our first time visiting I can say it definitely will not be our last. Shout out to the whole team and we will let everyone know that if theyre looking for beautiful jewelry at reasonable prices in a warm inviting and clean atmosphere with staff who truly care and will go to extra mile then look no further than Poplar Pawn and Loan in Parkville!! I visited Poplar to look for a new white gold necklace with an elegant pendant . Hablo assisted and to my surprise the chain and pendant I chose was less than I set aside to spend . So I decided to see if there any bracelets I d like to wear as well. I found a few I liked, but they out over my budget . Hablo worked with me and got me a price that in my budget range. So needless to say I was able to come home with a set and not just a beautiful white gold necklace and pendant ! Thank you for working with me to get that little extra I wasn t planning on today ! Both pieces are beautiful !

DONT DO IT !!! Disappointed in their Loan process they re touting. Xoxo loan. It s a scam. Within seconds I was bombed with calls, texts and emails and now they have all my personal information to hundreds of lenders in the network. Very deceiving and NO LEGITIMATE LOAN WAS OFFERED and these Payday Lenders are scammers. SO SORRY I APPLIED FOR A LOAN THRU POPLAR PAWN & LOAN but I m sure THEY got PAID and so did all the websites it kept opening up in seconds on my phone. Was looking for a simple $400 loan and now I have a security nightmare on my hands. And NO MONEY And it s been an hour. Calls, emails n texts still coming in smh

Exceptional customer service! I went in a few weeks ago with just nine dollars to buy some silver dimes, to which the sales representative was very patient, respectful, and kind to me - and never judged me. Id love to give him props but I forgot his name. Being an avid coin collector since I was 12, I always wanted a gold coin. I then returned a week later and bought my first gold coin and also left with some silver bullion. Again, greeted with kindness and respect, a very knowledgable and helpful sales rep, Chad, helped me with my purchase. Because of the remarkable service I had experienced here- when it came time to fulfill my childhood goal, I knew this was the place to go! Formerly residing in NYC, Im new to Baltimore and this experience and amazing interaction Ive had with the sales representatives here has made me a loyal and returning customer. I went in there with my own research to pawn a couple of watches. They did not disappoint. They were only a little off of what I was thinking. But, lets be honest, if the pawner does not rebuy, the pawn broker has to hold the inventory, market it and hopefully sell it to get their money back. I totally get the concept. And, where else can you go to get cash for your items? Sure, you can try to sell on Ebay, ETSY, etc. But, then that takes time, packaging, shipping, possible mail issues, etc. They make it easy to sell or pawn. And, if you are looking to buy, they have great prices on some unique pieces. Check them out!

Left a review over a week ago about an employee being sarcastic over the phone and an item being highly overpriced the owner took the time too at least look at the review see how long Ive been coming there offered to have me call speak about it goes a long way just getting an apology showing he cares about his business still think the item was ridiculously priced for being used when a new one was 200$ less almost with game I went elsewhere just would have been nice to go there and get a deal like Ive done in the past. I have used P.J & L many times for the past 6+ years for loans. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A 100 STAR RATING I WOULD. Everyone is always pleasant. AND THEY ARE VERY FAIR and KIND and JUST AWESOME. I have dealt with other loan places and by far PJ&L IS THE BEST. It would be worth you time and travel to come here. I havent even told you about all they have done for me to make my transaction go well for me. I will say this when Covid first hit they gave back and only made me pay the cost of my loan and not the interest fee. THANK YOU PJ&L. #100stars.

These guys are great. I have been buying things for a long time here and they always offer a fair price and get new inventory pretty frequently. Customer service is top notch and I honestly stop in to say hello nearly as much as I do to see what theyve got in stock.

Excellent staff !! They say hello the minute you walk in I like these guys, very professional and freundly, treT you with respect. I would recommend this place to anyone Does not even feel like a pawnshop. Ita more like a jewelry store with cool gear in tge back 5 STARS EASY :-)

Was looking for a men ring. 1st day, good selections, Chad assisted me, but I was only looking around. 2nd visit, he remembered me & delivered the same great service. Which led me to make my purchase. Thanks because I was leary on buying pawn shop jewelry.

Disappointed to find out the motto is they take anything of value just to find out when I took two of value employee says boss says dont take jumpboxes. But no sign was displayed that. And then sent me away. Im no so sure about this company. 50/50 shot with success

I have sold drones to them number of times. Prior to coming in (driving a hour) I called and asked specifically if they buy camera/gimbal for phantom 4, they tell me yes bring it in to let them look but yes. I proceed to drive all the way down and then they tell me they don t buy them. Absolutely no respect or consideration for my time. Once I asked them why they couldn t of told me that before I drove down they questioned if I called then once confirmed no apology and acted like it was my fault. Not good business

Ive done business with this particular pawn shop at their Joppa road location for years, all the way back to 2016. Now I guess I should admit that sometimes it seems as if they are scamming you, but compared to the cash offers you will find at any other shops I find poplar to be more than fair. Excellent customer service.

By far the best pawn shop in Maryland period!!!! Jim and the staff are the best. They treat you like you are a guest and welcome you. Most pawn shops have the wrong attitude and seem annoyed when you enter their shop. This establishment is by far the best in Maryland. Low interest loan on my Rolex is a HUGE plus. Other pawns shops charge $250 interest on every thousand. Not at Poplar, I was charged ONLY around $350 interest on a $5500 loan!!!! That makes it much easier for me to get my watch back. At any other shop I would have paid almost $1400 in just interest making it almost impossible to get my item back. Most places feed on your desperation for funds and exploit the fact that you are I need of funds. This shop is actually here to help you out. They understand that having repeat customers is better than taking advantage of people who are already financially unstable at the moment. GREAT JOB POPLAR PAWN AND JEWELRY. Also I read the review of the guest which was late paying on his loan and stated that his item was gone when he came back. I can say that has to be false. I purposely was late picking up but within the grace period. I called the day my payment was due and asked if I could stop in a week and pay for item in full. The staff member who answered the phone stated to me that I have 10 day grace period. I came about 6 days after the initial 30 day loan period and had NO ISSUE picking up my item. I was not charged extra or had any issue whatsoever and that was on Rolex watch. THIS IS A HONEST AND PROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT!!!! I have no affiliation with this establishment. I was very happy to find this store to fix all my jewelry. Their attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Professional work. Recently fixed my Dad s old Rolex watch and it was done. I couldn t believe my eyes.Look for Mike when u are in the shop. He is great. I will recommend them to anyone l know. Best service. Friendly staffs.

Sold my Property During COVID-19 while stay at home order was in effect. After sending a in text in April 2020 assuring me I was good Throughout May 2020 because of the Pandemic and stay at home order Governor Hogan put in affect. When I called today June 4, 2020 I was told My things were sold.

Just had the best experience with Mark! Even though I communicated that I was looking for a gag gift and not wanting to spend a lot of money, he treated me like a baller. He was so helpful, patient and knowledgeable. This was the first time I purchased at a pawn shop and I think I will be coming back (but only if mark is there).

Best new/used shoe pawn shop in town. Always pop in every couple months check out the catalog. came through for my girl bday and found a great deal on some DS uptempos. Really like how they have a iPod now you can glance by each size. Jewelery side nice too if u got cake.

I was in a bind. Lost my job. Gave me double compared to other pawn and Jewelry exchange. Then after 4 months paying the minimum and missing one of payments. I felt shameful and embarrassed, but Mark made me feel like I was one of their best high class customers. Even shined all my karats.

Dont expect much when selling jewelry here. They laughed at me when I told them what my piece of jewelry was worth, they offered me next to nothing for it, and they scratched the back trying to get it open. If you value getting no money for your valuables and wasting your time, this is the place for you!

This pawn shop is a one of a kind. An upscale experience with superb staff, building, hours, and environment. All the staff is professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They strive to meet a customers needs. Ive dealt with jewelers, and pawnbrokers in the past but never like these guys. They are so personable you cant help but develop a repoire. I dealt with Patrick during a crisis and he dropped everything and gave me his full attention. The other staff was supportive. I would recommend this shop without reservation. To buy, sell, or pawn. The items they sell are also of excellent quality. Consider me IMPRESSED! And THANK YOU PATRICK!
