The staff is very rude! This is not the same NFCU I have banked with for the past 7 years. Very poor customer service, and the lady up front is enough to make me never go back to this branch, no matter how long I have to drive.
UPDATE: I went to the Odenton location because of the poor customer service experience in Glen Burnie. TOTALLY DIFFERENT VIBE. The staff is very nice there, and I was able to sit and speak with a banker. She answered all of my questions, explained everything to me, and presented me with different options. To Baltimore residents, since there is not a local branch, please consider going to the Odenton location. It's a drive, but it's worth it when it comes to customer service involving your money. THIS is the Navy Federal Credit Union I know. Thank you, Joy, Lauren and Joana, for an easy and smooth experience ๐

Rude staff. If you need to speak with anyone in person go to another location. Maybe there has been a management change in the six years Iโve been banking with this specific NFCU but whoever is in charge of hiring should make sure new hires have some of any background in customer service experience.

This is the most ghetto branch of Navy Federal in the four continents I've visited. Everyone within the branch focuses more on moving people out of their store than helping with their issues or understanding the customer's limitations and solving the customers problems. It was like the staff wanted to propagate a careless and ghetto community environment. Avoid this branch!
I have PTSD, and the attendants were apathetic at best and hostile at times when I complained about being stuck in a line while having problems with being stuck in crowds. She attempted to educate me with the indignity of wasting her time on how I could have ordered the card quickly online. I told her that I was sent to the branch by an attendant on the phone. I told her I had issues in groups, couldn't be in the building with a large group any longer, that I did not have a problem with her, and to give me my card immediately so I could leave without freaking out. I do all my banking online to avoid this branch in particular due to how unhelpful the staff consistently has degraded over the last 3 years, but I needed a new card immediately because of a fraud alert I received from NFCU.
I even had to return a second time because a worker botched generating a debit card for me, making me lose another hour out of my day, waiting in line further with an unhelpful attendant who was refusing to hear the situation of error and inconvenience, causing me to stress out further. The woman at the front desk refused to engage my issue or answer any questions regarding my problem with my debit card not working after they had just made me a new card. She said another attendant took a phone call from the hotline professional I spoke to on the phone. After asking to understand the situation with the people who knew of my issue I was dismissed with annoyance. "Would you rather do this and argue than stand in line?" I wasn't arguing, I was asking questions about the issue I had been given and used the information I received from the professional on the NFCU hotline. I have trouble standing in line with PTSD, and no one in that building heard or helped. I just wanted to know what the issue was with my card and what was being done about it so I don't have to return again. The front attendant must have tried to take lines from her military husband and it was very obvious how disinterested she was in helping a customer with their issue. The only thing that girl wanted to do was move people to the next line, maybe she should work at Great Lakes in the recruit barbershop instead of helping people.
It completely contrasted the professionals I dealt with on the NFCU hotline. The branch just saw a grumpy disabled sailor who was slowing down their line and then tried to punish me by making the customer return, and then they continued to discriminate against my inability to stand in line from PTSD. Shameful.
How convenient for the whole organization to omit a publicly listed complaint department from the website, and I am forced to engage this issue on Google.
AVOID THIS BRANCH.

Funny thing is that every single time I spoke with someone over the phone, they were more than pleasant and extremely polite and helpful. Itโs a shame because customer service starts from the moment you come through the door.

Published at 8 months ago
As stated probably a million times by everyone else, this branch is probably the worse of them all and it s soooo sad because I m really not sure if they don t have the budget to hire people or they love being short staff. I also do not think they take into account that they only have a handful of branches sprinkled through the state which forces people to have to drive MILESSSS before getting to a branch. Unfortunately for me, this is the closest one to me and it s literally 45minutes away but hey, when you need your money you need your money. Now aside from the lack of branches available and the lack of staffing at this location the branch manager SHERYL is literally soooo rude to clients that it is disgusting. I sat for over 90minutes just watching her interactions with people and every single one was extremely condescending and mildly hostile. She even had the security kicking people out when they would give her the same energy she gave out. For instance Sheryl literally started going back and forth with an old lady to which she replied just have a seat not explaining why the client should take a seat and what she was going to do to help .just simply told her to sit down. Another customer came in. Confused and with a bunch of questions about her banking. Sheryl of course was giving her attitude and answering questions with clear annoyance and the woman gave it right back to her which then caused Sheryl to literally turn away in the mist of their conversation and looked at another customer and said can I help you basically insinuating that she was done talking to the lady. This obviously upsets the lady. Mind you Sheryl was covering the front door at the time and the lady she ignored wanted to be put on the list to sit with someone but at that point she was ignored and left there to look and basically sit Not once did she even great anybody. No hellos and how are yours. Nothing about her was warm. Everything about her from her energy, attitude, and posture was cold. Now she is the leader so as she is leading ij such manner her branch workers clearly was following this behavior and feeding off her energy. Almost everyone look annoyed, drained, and exhausted. They were short with customers and barely anyone was smiling unless they were talking to eachother. I even patiently waited for over an hour and to my surprise the banker that worked with me start huffing and puffing at my request. I even was speaking and at one point she couldn t hear me and said WHAT?! which is truly rude. Saying could you repeat that, I didn t hear you is really not that hard but I guess when you have a rude boss customer service isn t ever going to be the branches strong point. Now I m not dismissing that they probably deal with a lot. Being short staffed and having clients waiting creates annoyance for everyone but the customer service is sooo not on point with the brand and something needs to change soon. Did I also mention sheryl was reporting people and saying she would file an abuse of staff on that one lady account?? Smh the lady did get a little annoyed but it was nothing close to abuse and none of that would have happened if she was not rude. Please fix this. Its truly bringing down the branch name and being stern and assertive is one thing but rude and condensing of NEVER ok! all in all. hire more people and properly train the staff. INCLUDING SHERYL

MY NAME IS NIKIA JEFFRIES. I m currently experiencing an issue with a ATM machine malfunction. That happened on January 26, 2024. After filing a claim immediately over the phone. The next business day 01/29/2024 I attended Glen Burnie branch in Maryland. Where I was told, there s nothing much that could be done for me other than filing a claim. I immediately asked for the branch management. I was later, assisted by Miss Ebon e J. The Acting branch manager who I truly believe went beyond and above to assist my necessary needs. She made all the necessary calls and emails. She was understanding, patient, and professional. Navy Federal credit Union will always have a recommendation on my behalf to my fellow, coworkers, families, and friends. I pray that all management are just as concerning.

The name speaks for itself, Navy Federal Credit Union. Its the reason for my expectations for exceptional ATMs and customer service. The ATM is user-friendly but lacks in armed forces, loves ones and outsiders safety in the expedition category only at the ATM. I am glad NFCU changed to a faster ATM software. The customer service is remarkable so far. The lines are a little intimidating to us. Yet, the Navy Federal Credit Union has a way to accommodate families or one family at a time with SocialDistance methods like one line, which moves swiftly, to my surprise or teller poles and rope to create one single line. It helps eliminate confusion or chaos. The few once in a blue moon times we visited Navy Federal Credit Union, their lobbys air quality seems to be bearable. Also, the bathrooms are maintainable for Navy Federal Credit Union family members. The staff seem to maintain a high quality of professional and courteous conduct. Occasionally, a person may be the reason we give up our window of opportunity to receive services, for personal preferences like their recreational activities are different than ours. However, we tend to return in hopes of receiving service when air quality experience is better. The majority of staff and customers are kept 6 or more feet apart. Since the pandemic or Covid-19 or vaccination time frames, several are wearing masks in and outside of Navy Federal Credit Union like us. Others are simply removing themselves and loved ones from certain unbearable or bad odors and strong chemical compounds. Some medications can cause overdose of use, like overweight, which can be from excessive food or beverage consumption and lack of exercise. #StaySafe #WashHands

Literally the worst credit union when it comes to having access to your funds. They shut down locations. ATMs barely work and never take cash deposits. Ive had a cashiers check to pick up after work for bills and the darn place was closed on a THURSDAY!!!!! they were completely non empathetic and refused to help the 20+ people standing outside. Didnt even update us and let us know anything. I will be moving my money elsewhere because this is getting ridiculous.

I have been with Navy Federal since 99. But this location is subpar at best and needs management fixed and to let employees know of changes. I waited in like for 30 minutes to get a new card and deposit a check. Usually 225 was allowed the first day n the rest next business day, but I guess in 3 days that has changed. Now you have to wait a full day for your funds to be available, even though the email and teller both said it will be available today. The help line is no help and just basically said im out of luck .Im thinking of changing banks because I have nothing but issues with this branch and Navy Federal. 0/10 do not go to this branch, go to annapolis or laurel.

My least favorite Navy Federal. It s really not their fault. The customer service is great and they have all the normal services. The problem is that there is no more locations north through Baltimore so this location serves not only the local population, but most of Baltimore as well. It is just always too overcrowded.

I desperately needed to make the deposit to avoid overdrawing for an upcoming expense. Tried again the next day and the atms were still down! I dont get off work in time to visit a branch, so I was hoping the use the ATM, but to no avail!! Even customer service didnt know what to do for me. They asked me if I could borrow the money from someone and give them my cash. Huh?

I would say Ive dealt with this location about 25 times. Ive had white men, white women, hispanic women and black men all be professional and respectful. Every single time I deal with a black woman its a problem. They see my account never has more than $400 in it and giggle, smirk, etc. Give me these judging eyes. People are allowed to have more than 1 bank . Navy federal is for my bills [ car note, car insurance, renters insurance, etc ] . I have another bank just for saving and one more just for my play money. That way if for whatever reason something happens to one bank or someone hacks my account I have 2 more on standby so my money doesnt get completely wiped out.

Navy Federal in Governors Plaza, Glen Burnie is the only branch I have felt dismissed and ignored in as a customer. I went in to resolve a mistake that was made on my loan. I was told they were only doing services that limit time in the bank (that part is understandable). I wanted to call the banks service line in my car and then come back in to get everything finalized (limiting my time and picking up my check) I was not listened to, the lady kept shoving a card to call the service line at me, and she kept repeating some generic line that clearly shared that she did not care about my dilemma. She was not helpful AT ALL.

This branch almost cost me a once in a lifetime opportunity on a really rare car. I got preapproved for the loan, got the check, drove all the way up to New England and closed the deal on a very hard to source vehicle that I ve been search for for years. 2 days before the importer has the vehicle scheduled to arrive at my house, he calls frantically to tell me the check from Navy Federal got rejected because the loan officer gave me the wrong type of auto loan! So I quickly skip lunch and get to the Annapolis branch on my lunch break to sort it out. They void the old loan, and conditionally approve me for a new loan...refusing to give me the loan (which I was already approved for weeks prior) unless I get an appraisal (on a vehicle that s already shipping to me). The senior loan officer is fully aware that their Glen Burnie branch did this to me, but refuses to budge, demanding an appraisal that he knows I can t get in time. Even better, they refuse to give me the loan terms of the original loan (which causes my monthly payment to shoot up from $700 to over $1000). Somehow by the grace of God, SunTrust approved me for the loan the same day, in half the time I wasted between 2 Navy Federals, primarily this one. So I didn t miss out on a deal of a lifetime, but Navy Federal is missing out on $18,000 in interest from losing my business on this deal (and future ones to be honest, next time I need a car loan it won t be through them, not after this). Oh, and after being a 13 year member of Navy Fed, I was able to get a much lower interest rate on the exact same vehicle through SunTrust, who I ve never used in my life. Honestly considering closing my Navy Federal account after this. This branch is an absolute joke.

I mean consistently over about 2 months it has been down. This location is closest and most convenient to me, but now I probly wont even bother to try again. Im with a member branch (in the co-op network, my credit union suggested this location) but since the atm is always down I cant make deposits or take money out. So today I came during operating hours hoping to make a deposit, and was VERY disappointed to see that they dont even handle that inside! ATM to deposit is never working

This has become the worst location to go during and after hours. During opening hours the inside lobby is a nightmare, long lines and not enough staff. The staff near the line that assist customers doest have enough privacy for customers. After hours, especially on Sundays, the ATM machine constantly done or wont take money. I really think if this branch should move to a standalone location with 2 or 3 ATMs, Drive Thru and more teller windows.

Always friendly and helpful. Love the location close to work. Although last time I was in the teller gave me a reason to come in less than I do already. She showed me how to electronically deposit checks through the app. So I guess I really will not have a reason to come into the branch very often anymore. If I did need to still visit a branch this is probably the one I would visit. I will still use the ATM for cash withdraws, so still good for that. Hopefully I will not have to go in for a loan anytime soon.

Great service and they made banking so easy. Makes you wonder why did not open an account with them before. Their banking services are definitely much better than the awful services Tower Federal Credit Union provides. Im glad that I made the switch.

Sent papers to wrong adress for four years then closed my account because now i owe them 118 dollars and refused to take any responsibility for the inconvenience caused by the lack of intelligence.

I would never go to another bank after the amazing customer service my husband and I experienced, Michael was very professional and treated us like family at the same time! You can t just pull that off anywhere!

This place is pretty straightforward. On the plus side, customer service at Navy Fed is good, compared to other common banks. They are definitely kind to the older population and don t pressure you to ATMs and online services, like other banks. Service is good. Wait times are decent here. I wouldn t say it s a glamorous location, like some others I ve been to on the West Coast. And the location here isn t easy to spot from the main road. You d have to enter into the shopping plaza, so it can get pretty hectic and busy there.

Very convenient at this location. They are decent employees that still better than just calling from home. They dont have the coin counter here anymore.

Taking into consideration the location, the services offered are great and the people there are always friendly! If only there was another ATM and a little better lighting around the ATM.

Though the employees are very nice, it was incredibly slow with the line queued out the door. To be fair it was the fourth of July weekend. Even so, the time this visit took is unacceptable.

The address your GPS will take you to is wrong - and it looks like the location is closed, as another reviewer pointed out; The GPS will take you to a building by the MVA - you want to go up the road a bit more to the shopping center with the Panera Bread and Alfred Angelo (you can see these from the road, theres a light there so you can turn in easily). Theyre located in that shopping center.
