I show up the front receptionist was so kind I sat for maybe 2 minutes before I was greeted. The interaction I had with this man wasn’t even 30 seconds. I sit down he goes on about how the diamond is less than a carat and he’s looking for a carat or more, which is fair I know different business do things differently, then before I knew it he said my diamond has a flaw and he’s not interested as he stood up and walked out I had to show myself out? I think the interaction I had was completely unprofessional he didn’t even tell me what the flaw was or even at least point me to a place where I could possibly sell it? I never have written a review in my life I usually move on but this interaction has stuck with me because I’ve never felt more disrespected.

Called this place thought I d sell some jewelry I purchased over the years as a former secondhand dealer & some inherited. Over the phone the lady was very pleasant and eager to see my items. I scheduled appointment and when I arrived her demeanor changed completely. I felt it was racial as she no longer cared about my items. She offered me a lowball price for my best Diamond. There may not be enough space for me to share my adulation for Samuelsons Buyers. Nobody ever wants to part with some of their gold or silver. If the time comes that you need to swap out some of your gold or silver for cash, choose Samuelsons Buyers. The entire process was a breeze. When we attempted to reach an agreement on the price, I actually asked Allie for less money than what she offered me. I couldnt believe that were able to pay that close to the spot price of the metals!!!!!!! They cut a check on the spot and even took care of the parking garage for me. I didnt even need to search for a bank. There was a branch right across the street. I will most definitely be getting the word out about this place. Im so glad that they are still in business.

I have used Samuelsons on two different occasions. I met with Paul both times. He is very knowledgeable and understands what the current market for estate jewelry is. Recently I took several pieces of jewelry in for Paul to look at. Some was sold as scrap because it is not in style today. One piece, a solitaire diamond which was just under a carat, he priced out for me. I ended up taking it to two other places, one an online auction site and another place that advertises on TV for them to give me an opinion. Neither of these places came close to what Paul offered me. I feel very comfortable with the values that Samuelsons places on all of the pieces of jewelry that I left with them. Pleasant, trustworthy, understanding are just some of the adjectives that I would use to describe my experience with Paul and Samuelsons.

I visited the office twice because I needed an appointment. The second visit I had to wait more than 40 minutes, even with an appointment, making me run late on my schedule when I clearly communicated I needed to be somewhere else at certain time. I was given information regarding the components of the diamonds and such but the price offered, as other person mentioned, was diminished since the ring came from Jared, regardless of the beauty and integrity of the diamond . The setting of the ring is platinum, which was not even considered at the time of the offer. I walked out feeling taken advantaged , so Ill just advice other customers to have more options before selling to Samuelsons.

Well done. Facility is a one person office in a WeWork-like facility (VERY nice, with receptionist and waiting area). There are many hi-end small firms on the 6th floor, so there are lots of people around (dont be nervous about visiting). Underground parking in back is $3 for 2 hours. Expect to get a percentage of current silver spot price for any 925 silver, which they told me in advance (straightforward and honest). You hate to see a beautiful handmade tea set melted down, but thats the nature of the business. Samuelsons percentage of spot price was higher than anyone elses, so I made the sale. Got a check, but did not cash at the bank across the street cause they wouldve charged $20. Will cash it at my own bank.

Quick and easy with appointment. Paid near spot for silver. DO NOT bring coins that have different values(such as kookaburras or Britannias) because it seems they are interested in the silver content. Not a problem, just an observation. If you have generic rounds or bars that you paid near spot price for, then selling to these folks is easy, friendly, and quick. Definitely would use them again in the future.

Allie was our representative. She was knowledgeable, professional, and personable and took time to describe the selling process. We brought a number of pieces from my late aunt s jewelry collection and Allie carefully assessed each item and provided us with an explanation as to their value. I contact Samuelson and sent in a picture of my ring, yes we would like to make you an offer can we schedule you an appointment . I came in with a $10000.00 ring bought from Jared Jewelry in Virgina Beach to sell. The appraiser had nothing positive to say about the ring, ie not everybody would like this style, it cant be sized and he went on. He then makes a call and offer me $1000.00. Going back to Jared!!!!

Nice people but offer do not reflect thier highest payouts in MD, VA, and DC claim. I was selling a 3 month old IWC Pilots watch (at Baltimore location) which, although they do not have the instant resalability of high end Rolex or Pateks, is a quality watch which typically retains a high percentage of original value for resale. Much like a pawn shop, Samuelsons offered just over 50% of resale for the watch. My experience with previous watch buyers is that they typically give between 65 to 80% depending on the piece. I have other higher end watches Im not using, but will definitely not waste my time here.

I visited Samuelsons Chevy Chase location on November 2, 2017. I met with Ron Samuelson, who was pleasant and knowledgeable. He quickly made me an acceptable offer on my piece. I walked out of the office within 20 minutes with a check. I recommend Samuelsons.

Low ball offer told me my gold was yellow gold. I went to another business and received an offer for the same piece that was 2000% higher.

The other day I called to set up an appointment to sell some of my estate jewelry, which consists of pieces dating back to the Victorian era. As I was describing the items I wanted to get rid off, the woman on the phone cut me off and then said that she would like me to send photos of the jewelry via email to see if what I had was consistent with what they bought. While I can appreciate that due to the fact that time is a valuable commodity, I definitely felt she could have gone about this procedure in a more professional manner. Also, she didnt end up sending me the email to send her photos like she said she would. This could have been a mistake but based on her demeanor, I doubt it. Ironically, she didnt allow me the chance to describe the art deco engagement ring with a fairly substantial diamond in it. I will be definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

I took some of my wifes jewelry to Samuelsons in Chevy Chase and had a great experience. I dealt with Ron and felt at ease with him. We even bonded over music - turns out he plays guitar and enjoys the same music as I do. Besides bonding over music, I found Ron to be personable and very knowledgeable about the pieces that I was looking to sell. I had done some research before meeting Ron and I had an idea in my mind of what I thought fair for my jewelry. His offer was in my comfort range and the transaction was smooth from beginning to end. Ive sold a few items here, and have always been happy with the transaction. Everyone there is very helpful and more importantly fair!! Ive had some nightmare experiences with people trying to mislead me into selling things for basically nothing. Was very pleased with the staff here walking me through the purchase and explaining the valuation process in a way which I could understand. Highly recommend using them any time you need to cash in on some of your unused pieces.

I was so nervous and lost when it came to selling my beautiful wedding ring. In my early pursuits of buyers, I came across some really shady businesses. Then a friend recommended Samuelsons to me and I couldnt have been more pleased and comforted by the experience. I feel I was offered a fair price, and any flaws with the piece were carefully explained to me. The office is beautiful and adds to the comfort and feel of a legit, honorable family business. I sold three diamond rings, including my old engagement ring. This was the third place I went to for estimates. Ron was by far the most professional and personable of all of them. While still much less than the appraised value of the rings, the price was fair and better than the others. I will definitely return to Ron in the future with any similar needs.

I visited a large jeweler in Timonium who boasts top dollar paid for your old jewelry. Then I went to a popular pawn shop whose radio ads boast about top prices for you unwanted jewelry. In both cases I felt like I was just a number to them. No thought or care as to the history of the pieces. They just wanted to melt the gold down and give very little for the diamonds. Then we found Samuelsons on line. We set up an appointment and visited them at their Baltimore St. location. Ron Samuelson helped us and showed care and some enthusiasm as to what we were bringing into the store. Ron gave us a fair valuation for our pieces and even explained how we overpaid for some of our jewelry at the large retailers. We will definitely visit them again when were ready to purchase some new jewelry.

I went into Samuelsons (Baltimore St location) thinking I would have a better experience than in a pawn shop, but it was not. I did end up selling my unwanted pieces to them, but, only after the first person Paul gave me a pretty low offer. Then I was emailed two times to come back in to have the owner Ron, see if he could stretch the offer, whatever that means. Anyway, I was told my Sitara diamond (EGL Certified) was hard to sell/market, because it is from a chain store etc. ridiculous! I have had my fair share of car salesmen experiences to know one when I see/hear one. I was actually offered the second time only a few hundred more, but I had to include my platinum band and other gold pieces, I had not even included when Paul made the first offer. So, I dont think it was stretched too far in the end, at least to my benefit. Truth be told, a pawn shop in Dundalk had offered me about $80-$100 more than Samuelsons. If you are wondering, why I didnt leave and take it, well, I am asking myself that too. I suppose, I just didnt feel like fooling with all of it again. I had gone over selling my stuff for two weeks, it was bad memories, so I thought, so be it. The one big thing though, that should have made me run out the door, was, when Ron said; I couldnt wait, that he would not want to buy it, if I left to think about it! Also, while I was waiting, I asked, who I assume is Rons father, the cost of a watch that was in the case, I was never given an answer, I guess I am not good enough to buy it...Ha! So, a lesson to all, dont judge a book by its cover, a pawn shop will give you just as good, if not better offer for your unwanted jewelry and not be so condescending in the process! One last note, dont ask for copies of things they make you sign, you are not allowed to have them and if you dont have an account with M&T, you will be charged to cash a check from Samuelsons account, so ask for cash!

I recently conducted business, for the third time, with Samuelsons. My past two times were with Paul, who is great. This time it was with Ron Samuelson, equally a great experience. Again, I value how they conduct business - an experience that allows for both parties, seller & buyer, to end the meeting in full confidence of the negotiations process. I find it rare, in this day & time, to find a business that actually has, by its service, values and provides the time to cultivate a relationship with a new customer.

This was a great place to sell my old wedding set. They made me feel important from the moment I booked my appointment to the moment I left the office. They were very honest about the pieces I brought in. They were NOT good quality, and I knew that going into the transaction. But they gave me an extremely fair price. I was impressed and delighted by Samuelsons service throughout the entire process of making an appointment, having my silver appraised and selling the sterling silver. When I was considering where to sell our silver, I shuddered at the idea of going to one of those we buy gold and silver places that had been in existence for a few months or years at a strip mall. Reputation matters - professionalism counts - especially when it comes to selling a precious metal. Thats why I was delighted to find Samuelsons nearby and was even more pleased with the service, price and professionalism.
