Homebuying is such a delicate process. All of the important pieces that go into it make it quite difficult especially when it s your first home and you don t have the guidance it requires. I did an application with Area Lending as a 4th opinion after several other bad experiences with lenders who truly lacked customer service skills in assisting with a game plan. After explaining that to Andy, one of the loan officers, I again got a terrible experience with something as simple as providing a game plan. All I needed was a where to start discussion, but instead was given dry and cut advice. There s a difference in being helpful and just being too much of a realist that it comes off rude and condescending. I ve seen great commentary about Area and I believe they might be a great company, however for me, the representative that I was paired with truly showed me the ugly/discouraging side of home buying. While my credit is fine, my student loans are unfortunately something that I acquired while trying to build a career. Why does that always have to be the downside to something such as this. Sucks!

Buying a house in their crazy market was so stressful. We would go see a house one day and have to make a decision within hours of whether to buy it or not. Chris with Area Home Lending was there every time we needed anything. He had letters for our offers on the ready when we needed them. We made up to six offers on houses and every time he was so quick with our offer letters. Once one of our offers was accepted, him and the team at Area Home Lending was always communicating with us for what we need to sign, what we need proof of, and deadlines. I can t brag enough on Chris!!! Chris was the most patient during our home buying process. We were originally working on a property for a ridiculous amount of time that eventually fell through (no fault of Chris or Area) but Chris was there to help pick up the pieces and made the transition of my husband and I purchasing our amazing home SOOOOO easy and stress free! Area Home Lending is the BEST LENDING COMPANY in Baton Rouge, Louisiana My finance s been trying to get a representative to assist him for weeks with a home mortgage in the Baton Rouge/Denham Springs area in LA. He s frustrated because he was constantly being sent to voice mail and couldnt reach his contact at the big mortgage company in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. So, he asked me if I could assist him in locating a lending company in the Baton Rouge area to help him with a new mortgage on his residence. He wanted to work with a lending company that - 1). Answered their phones - regularly 2). Responsive to calls and emails 3). Followed up on items 4). Delivered quality customer service - and cares about its customers 5). Knowledgeable about the residential home lending industry and mortgage process 6). Offers a loan with good terms, fair payments, low-interest rates and fees. 7). Streamlines the process and makes it easy and convenient - for busy professionals. 8). Closes quickly and provides a smooth home closing transaction - with no last-minute surprises. I imagined this could be a difficult and challenging task - to find a lending company that could meet all of the above expectations. So, I began looking online and calling various lending companies. If I could use only one word to describe Chris Lewis, it would be AMAZING! My fiance and I are first time home buyers and would have been so lost without him. Chris with Area Home Lending is very diligent with his work. We can contact him anytime and he would be there to answer any questions we had and would explain everything to where we could understand. The best thing is that we are never waiting on Chris to get the ball rolling on our loan. If things ever held up, it was because he was waiting on us to send required information. Once he received the information, we would hear back from him that same day! Chris even made sure that we got the best interest rate on the loan that he could find. He offered advice on the different programs and helped us get a 0% down loan, which is helpful for first home buyers out of college. One of the last things I have to say about Chris is that he is very easy to talk to. When I am talking to Chris on the phone, it is like talking to a friend who is trying to help you and give you advice. I was always told that buying a house was very stressful and takes a lot of work. Not with Chris. The only stressful part was picking a house. Chris facilitated everything else. If you are looking for a house buying experience with no stress, more time to look for houses and pick out all the furnishings you want to have without worrying about all the paperwork, I highly recommend Chris, especially if you are a first home buyer.

We had initially came to Area Home Lending bu recommendation of our real estate agent, Jessica. When we first started our home loan process, everything was wonderful and perfect. We had an amazing agent, named Erin Pisani. Any questions I had, she answered. Anything she needed from me, she would let me know and made me feel great about the home buying process. The week of our projected closing, I had called Erin to ask her a question, and that s when she told me unfortunately she was no longer with the company, but her coworker/boss, Chris Lewis, would be happy to assist us further. I immediately called, emailed, and texted Chris. He was extremely hard to get ahold of, and most questions I asked, he told me to call and ask Erin, whom he had just fired. She continued to work on our loan (thank God) and help us, even though she was no longer with the company. The day of closing, we were told to be there for 12. We ended up staying until right at 4 because the wrong paperwork kept getting sent over. WhT should have been the best day of our lives quickly turned into the worst experience I ve ever had. It was handled extremely unprofessionally and as if Chris has never done a home loan before. I can t believe he fired our loan officer, who I had built an amazing personal relationship with, the week of our closing and didn t let her finish our file. I will recommend everyone go to Erin Pisani, whenever she goes.

Me and my wife just purchased a new home and was able to close before Christmas time. Chris Lewis was amazing and went above and beyond what anybody would have done to be sure we closed on our home. I want to take my time out and thank Ms. Rhonda for everything she has done for me. I closed on my house on Thursday, 09/13/2018. Ever since the first time I spoke with Ms. Rhonda, she was always kind, patient, attentive and detailed. She made sure that I had everything I needed for underwriting. Because of that, my underwriting process was not as long as I had been hearing. Ms. Rhonda was so patient with me and eased my anxiety. I am a single woman so a purchase like this is very scary. I recently purchased a house through Area Home Lending. Erin and Jason were awesome answering all my questions, and pretty much babysitting me throughout the whole process. This is my first house, and I was so nervous that everything would fall apart. But they did it. The processing team was awesome. Also, after I closed, I missed placed my Act of Cash sale and my temporary payment coupon. All I did was call up, and with in minutes, Jeff, the post closing person had emailed it to me. I would highly recommend Area Home Lending for all your mortgage needs.

I was looking forward to working with this company as a friend of mine recommended them to me saying they were great. Unfortunately, my experience was awful and I do not recommend using Tracy Oliveri or this company. Tracy was very uninformative and did not even provide a cost sheet/breakdown at the beginning of my pre-approval process as a first time buyer. My realtor had to ask for me to be sent my estimated mortgage once putting in an offer on a home. To top everything off-- when my documentation was sent for final approval it was denied because they entered my financial information incorrectly causing me to lose the home.I had already made it through the inspection and appraisal process. The owner, Jason, originally stated he would cover all costs except for the inspection. After finding out I still planned on leaving a negative review and contacting the BBB he revoked that offer and stated he is sending me a bill in the mail for money owed. In light of this, I definitely do not recommend using this company.

Jason and Dana exceeded all of my expectations during the home buying process. I don t think there are enough words to describe how great they are! The entire process from start to finish was so smooth and easy that it almost didn t seem real. They were always very quick to answer any questions I had, put in extra time to make sure I knew and understood all of my options, put my mind at ease when I would get nervous about the process, kept me informed every single step of the way, and we even closed 4 days sooner than originally estimated. They did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them to anyone I know.

No idea who they would be. Well I truly believe in Divine Intervention. Tracy Oliveri is INCREDIBLE!!! One of the nicest folks I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with on any project. Tracy is a complete professional, a warm heart, genuinely caring person and jumped through some major hoops to make our closing fit an important time line. She did it! and came to closing with a beautiful gift for my sweet mom and myself. She has become a treasured friend. Never again!! Made a move from Texas to Baton Rouge and they messed up the process on every single step. We were left homeless for a week and left to pay for hotel and pet boarding fees. I have bought several houses in my life and this is by far the worst experience of my life. NIGHTMARE!!

My wife and I recently closed on a refinance through Area Home Lending. I cant adequately express how incredibly helpful Christopher Lewis was every step of the way. He helped us close on the original loan over a year ago and I was so impressed at his remarkable level of service that I wrote a letter to the owner because I felt it needed to be noted. I have closed on a couple loans with other companies and Ive never experienced such attentiveness from any loan representative. It almost felt as though we were using some VIP service. From his near immediate response at almost any hour of the day, to his willingness to go out of his way to do research and answer tricky questions, he makes it feel as if you are his only priority. Chris will have our business for years to come and I will definitely be sending our friends his way.
