I called into customer service and spoke with a representative named Ivar. My wife and I have had a problem in our account for several months that we were having issues with getting it resolved. Ivar did not waver on the difficulty of my situation and jumped along side me to resolve the problem. I always want good customer service where ever I go, but I don't really expect it or receive much now a days. However, in this case Ivar exceeded my expectations and helped me get my issue resolved once and for all. If I had a business I'd want people like Ivar to help run it.

Honestly most of my issues are with the online banking. It's such a hassle to use. Resetting a password should not take a phone call when everywhere can text a code. And if I leave the web page to answer the call it refreshes and won't take the code. It's hard to do anything on the site and doesn't have clear navigation. Now I'm locked out of my account and wants me to call again to have access to my account. I'm closing this account and going some where with more user friendly online services.

The absolute worse customer service out of all the Mazuma locations. The younglady with curly blonde hair wanted to argue with me about how busy they were and the reason they never acknowledged me in the drive thru after 5 minutes. It s the principle and poor customer service not to acknowledge your customer to advise on why the delay. She wanted to also be smart and wish me a good day after being escalated by her unprofessional manner. I would like to thank the supervisor who reached out to apologize for the inconvenience this morning. It s important that employees understand that we the customers are the reason you are employed. Seek to understand than to be understood when dealing with the public customer . I appreciate your promptness in this matter. Ms. King 10/14/24 Very inconvenient that online banking is almost always an issue. I ll be looking for other options for my banking needs. Absolutely ridiculous!!!

Sorting out initial confusion and complexities regarding multiple accounts and primary/secondary account holders in a credit union system has been challenging at times. The people at the 135th Overland Park branch have been helpful throughout. Ive also frequently witnessed the Overland Park staff work with challenging customers with above-and-beyond grace and integrity during my time spent there. After a recent terrible experience at the 135th Olathe branch, I took my questions to the OP branch. There, Timmeka (sp? sorry) went, again, above-and-beyond to simply show me, on my laptop in my account, how to address the questions I had regarding secondary account holder access.

Mazuma has let me down. I have been calling all week to see if there was a better solution to resolve my problem. Finally I got a return call today (days later) , I was rudely spoken to and then hung up on by Carla. I had asked her to transfer me to her manager s voicemail and she hung up on me! I didn t appreciate her condescending behavior nor being talked over by her. Poor customer service at its finest! I don t see the benefit of staying with Mazuma after this experience!

Second time I have visited the Credit Union in Overland Park, and I met a guy named Rich. He approached his job very seriously but added humor and some knowledge for me to think about. I love the personal banking experience and friendliness I get at Mazuma. On my most recent in lobby visit I was helped by Rich. He handled getting me a replacement card for my business account, pay off a loan and get a lien release and print some checks ---- all done in less than 15 minutes!

Communication concerning loans are totally based on you calling them. They dont acknowledge receipt of Timely payments right away on your phone call. I had one payment left to payoff my car loan and they request I bring it in personally by hand, you know the mail system is slow they said It wasnt late or anything, I agreed and promptly mailed my payment through my bank. So funny to me I laughed out loud

I spoke with a man today about two questions. He never said that they were putting a block on my debit card. Its 7pm and I cant get gas. I called the number on the back on my card and the lady could barely speak english but she did tell me that she couldnt do that and theres a note saying I have to call member services lol its 7pm and theres no one at Mazuma credit union to answer and restore my call. Im 100% switching to another credit union. Also the new automated system is impossible to get through to a live person. They just set it up so they dont have to help people. Please choose another credit union

If you go to a branch, great attitude. But if you talk to an associate? The people have the driest attitudes and very judgmental attitudes if you have a past due or late payment (after the grace days). Very much condescending. I have much more to say but, will leave it here. We understand working in customer service is hard but, no one wants to have someone on the other end of the phone with acting this way. Trust me, if I could pay another way OR an IVR payment I would just to avoid this.

Absolutely the worst credit union to work with! We have two car loans through them, and they have been a pain on everything! From the car insurance to trying to get a payoff on one of our cars. The customer service staff is rude and not helpful. WE WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!

Worst banking experience. It s a struggle trying to get a real person on the line. You get bounced back and forth between departments for hours! At the end of the day, they just tell you to go to a physical location. Where they ask you to call the number. Absolutely ridiculous, will refinance somewhere else.

Mazuma Credit Union is not a reliable financial institution to entrust your money with. Their service is subpar, their staff is unpleasant to deal with, and the overall culture is negative. Despite paying off a $20,000 loan and receiving the title, when I called to close my account three years later, I was transferred to the collections department and asked to pay $55 that they claimed I still owed them. I had already paid over $200 in excess and could afford to pay $450 per month to pay it off early. They used the excess to fund the dormant account, but failed to withdraw their money from the account, which had about $200. They could have also sent me an email to notify me of the pending items. This was an awful experience, worst experience in the metro, especially since I had already paid off the loan, received the title back, and had a balance of over $200 excess, which they could have used to pay themselves the $55, but they chose to keep charging me $10 for a dormant account fee. The whole scenario was just terrible.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was a member for over 10 years and every customer service experience I ever had with Mazuma has been negative. I would never finance through them again or open another account at this credit union. The employees are beyond rude and unprofessional.

i regret that i financed with them , they lost my title they never sent and I ve been been trying to get hold of a manager but a manager never talked to me directly and helped me try to recover the title and now I can t even get a duplicate title at the DMV because they won t send me the right stuff that I need so I do not recommend this place to finance a car because they will not help you with your title. They ll just send it and lose it and they won t even tell you the tracking number or anything they leave me in a loop i know that my comment will not help anything at least ppl are aware of it.

From the people at the branch that helped me get my car loan process started and cut the check for me, to the loan processor, Latisha, I believe her name was, I had the best experience with Mazuma. I applied yesterday and had my check in hand today! Seriously, couldn t have had a better experience!

I spoke to Toya on the phone today with the ESales department and she was beyond helpful. I used to work at Mazuma a few years back but to still deal with phenomenal customer service is wonderful. She let me know that they re short staffed so closings on Saturdays may be difficult but she informed me of the CUDL program with certain dealerships and she is working on getting a few named so I can try to get our loan closed with one of them. Got car loan through them. Its ridicules trying to get ahold of an actual person. Keep putting through an automated system that DOES NOT work spent couple hours trying to make a payment. Guess they dont care about you making your payments in time. Or they want you to pay late for a late fee. Got locked out of my own account. Once its paid off never again. The WORST. APP is just as bad!!!!! Id give them a zero if i could. They said they would reach out. No one ever did. Negative zero

Went to branch location to pay off vehicle loan. They failed to inform me that you can only do it at 135th location! Cost me $35!! And extra gas. Do not recommend using them go with a local banking institution!!

My husband who is disabled and I went in to open a new account. We were told we had to wait until there was no line before we could get assistance. There was never no line! Never got service. No apology. No new customer! Pathetic!!!

***update Delayed but worth mentioning. After seeing my review, Kathy (sorry forgot her last name and title) contacted me about my account and was able to ease my worries and get a new card issued very quickly. I definitely appreciate her efforts to remedy the situation. Thank you! This was my last straw with this credit union. I reported my atm card as lost on and requested a replacement card through their mobile app on April 11. I was told to allow 10-14 business days to receive a new card. Today is the 14th day and a replacement wasnt received. I called their customer service only to be told that a replacement card was never ordered. Mazuma has record of closing my lost card but the replacement request wasnt transmitted. The customer service rep said that Id have to wait another 10-14 business days to receive the card that shes just now ordering. Im already in the process of opening other accounts with different credit unions/banks and I will be in to a Mamzuma branch as soon as possible to close my account. Theres always something going wrong with this credit union and Im tired of it. There are too many other, read better, options available for us to be subjected to their incompetence.

Was approached by them when our credit was pulled while applying for a home loan. Made the mistake of using them since my wifes car loan is through them. They told us about a $467 discount on loan origination costs. Conveniently they didnt mention this wouldnt be around when the deal would go through. That would be the beginning of a process they made as clear as mud. Unless you deal with home loans daily, assume they wont tell you everything. Ive filed a complaint with the Kansas Department of Credit Unions. Id recommend anyone else whos suffered a loss due to this place to do the same. Sadly the answer to any of our problems would have simply been resolved with decent customer service. We werent walked through any of the documents and when they finally admitted some fault were rude and angry to be called out. One of the last things the loan agent said to my wife was that she was praying the home seller would sue us. Stay far away from this place.

This is the worst branch ever. You wait on hold for 30 minutes, for a 3 minute question that they refuse to answer the phone but send an email. So solving issues, or moving forward is impossible and takes DAYS. Use this bank if you want no communication, terrible customer service and if you want to drive to a physical location to ask 1 simple question. Updated review as of 1:57pm CST After making this review the VP of one of the branch centers called me, and allowed me to vent, assured proper training would be allocated and explained more about their services. I felt listened to, I felt understood and I got off the phone feeling good that there are remedies and people within the company that do take feedback seriously. They have definitely gone above and beyond to retain their members!

I have been a customer for over 30 years and just opened an account somewhere else. This bank s customer service has steadily declined and they have not kept up with technology or services of other banks. You never hear a friendly voice when you finally do get to talk to a person. The final straw was after I discovered fraudulent charges on my account, I was told I would have to fill out a two page form for each of the 17 transactions, including providing my personal information and fax or email it to the bank for review . Not very secure or comfortable for someone who was just ripped off. My debit card was shut off so I have to pay $25 to expedite it and still won t get it for five days due to the weekend so I have no way of paying for things and I live out of State so I can t even go to the bank to get cash. I was also told there was no guarantee I would have my funds returned and that it could take 30 days. Most banks return funds immediately and do not make the customer do a bunch of leg work and put themselves at further risk.

I have never raved about a bank before, but I feel this review is necessary. Recently my wife and I applied for a new car loan. We got the pre-approval very quickly. We then started working with a HUNTER COLEMAN in the loan servicing department and she is an absolute saint and she made the entire process very simple, easy to understand, and had EXCELLENT communication. Their service is horrible. I financed a loan for my daughters car through them because thats who the dealer had a banking relationship with, which seemed easy enough. I wasnt used to paying through their online payment system as its different from others, and I accidentally posted the car payment to the wrong account two times in a row. The rep contacted me, realized what happened, and worked with me to get it moved to the correct account, as they had my money the whole time and could see when I made the transfer for the exact amount of my loan payment. Fast forward a few months when I notice they flagged my credit with the payment being 30-60 days late. I reached out, was not allowed to explain the situation to the rep on their recovery team, and was transferred to a rep in customer service who could see what happened in the system and requested that a manager from the recovery team contact me. No one ever contacted me. Ill be paying this car loan off early just to keep from having to do business with them again. They have awful customer service, and Ill continue with Wells Fargo for my car buying needs in the future.

***Updated below*** Original comment: Communication is terrible, always have to hold, seems like I m always needing to resolve something and in order to do so I have to take time out of my day (like anyone has that) to call during business hours and sit around on hold for 15 or more minutes. One time I sat on hold for 15 minute only to have them tell me I need to come into the bank to resolve the issue. Tellers are usually friendly, bank conveniently located. No email available in contact us page. Will be switching banks soon. Update: Still with Mazuma, found a direct contact. I have better luck reaching an individual with this number although it is not found anywhere convenient. Staff is very friendly and I ve enjoyed my visits, service is pretty quick. I have a business checking and savings account with them and a few other banks, I d say their services are comparable and their location is convenient.

Id give zero stars if I could. Horrible customer service. Extremely disrespectful women of color answering the phones by the name of Shavon. Cussing, yelling, and disrespecting customers. I asked for a supervisor and she refused to give me one after putting me on hold for half an hour.

Ive gotten 4 different car loans from Mazuma and each time I have a fantastic experience. Do yourself a favor and ask for Frances (Meg) Kolb. She is just the best. Super helpful and always very responsive.

My one-star rating relates to the difficulty in trying to reach someone at the bank. I need info/advice about my account, and need to speak with a human. Both the local tele # and the 888 # are totally useless there is no option for Customer Service. I finally just tapped on the credit card option and was told she was unable to transfer me. Seems a bit ridiculous that I have to send a letter.

I ve been with Mazuma 15+ years and have always had issues with them following up when requesting info about services they say that they provide. This past week I ve twice requested a follow up for getting a personal loan and I put in a loan app and still no call from Mazuma. Time to move on.

I have been trying for 4 months to make a change in a monthly fund transfer from one bank to another. The first second and third month, change did not work. Each time i called and was placed on hold at least 15 min. Each time i was assured that the problem would be corrected. Now calling a fourth time, placed on hold forever, they say it is not their fault, but the originating bank. The level of incompetence is incredible.

This Credit Union its terrible if you want a good credit union stay far away from Mazuma. The people that work in the branch are very friendly. Customer service on the phone can take forever sometimes and they can be very rude within the conversation and cut you off when youre trying to speak about your account. I have had two bad experiences from their phone Representatives.

Can not ever get anyone on the phone. Customer service at branch in OP is bothered to help you... right now is only drive through and you can hear them well at all so you get an eye-roll when you ask them to repeat. Was only with them a short time for new auto loan and had to drive here to close and pick up very small balance. Then was told they are a countless branch and would need to cut a check. I have only been a credit union so I have plenty to compare to. As I waited, another lady had to return as they didnt provide her back what she requested. Andrea then returns to me asking she sent form and did I get it which I guess I wasn t quick enough for her and she adds I told you I was sending it! . Sure she is a great lady but today seemed very bothered to help anyone. Only CU I have experienced multiple issues.

I joined the bank/credit union when they had the promotion for joining where you would get a $200 incentive for joining and completing the required Deposits & charges. I went in to the branch to have my account set up to confirm to properly ensure I would be eligible. After setting up my account I was informed the only thing left to do is to make 20 charges and to set up direct deposit after that was completed I will be eligible since the rep set everything else up to qualify my account. After not seeing the fund add to my account after the period of time, I reached out to the customer help and was informed my account was not properly set up so i did not qualify. I informed that I did as told by the rep and that the rep set my account up and said all was good. Long story short, I have been in communication with the customer help for about 2 months now, they informed that they sent the information over to the branch and after many follow ups I am being informed that they will not honor the promotion since it was not set up properly. But this was not my fault, I feel the rep that created my account should be accountable for this and they should honor what the rep informed as well as the promotion

Mazuma Credit Union is a joke!!! Do not honor their promotions either!!! I opened a checking account for a promotion and since then I ve had nothing but problems!!! Their debit cards didn t work, their automated phone system is the absolute worst!! It takes 15-20 mins to actually talk to a human being!! Not only that, the kicker.. wait for it.. they will force the customer to give up or donate the remaining balance of your transaction/deposit/cashing because This credit union has become un-customer service friendly and Less personable by using only automated kiosk systems that only has dollar bills and not change!! Do not waste your time with this credit union!! It is a joke and an absolute nightmare to deal with!!

I will never call them again!!! My payment will be late before I ever call them again. My first go around I waited 20+ minutes to get hung up on, then 2nd phone call I waited over 30 minutes, then they charge you $15 to make a payment and was put on hold several times throughout the 20 minutes to make the payment.

Great credit union. I have no idea where the complaints about rude staff are coming from. I usually go to the Troost and Crossroads location, and have always received excellent service there. If you are thinking about making the switch to a credit union from a private bank, definitely do it. I came from Commerce Bank, and went from getting charged account fees every month to making money every month from dividends. Only negative experience I had was that, when I inquired about getting a house loan through the bank, I basically could only get low-effort responses from the specialist I got referred to. Couldnt get a face to face meeting or clear answers to my questions. Dont be dissuaded, though - the banking service itself has always been excellent.

NOT HAPPY my Fiance and I went in and set up a Checking account and we were trying to set up the online banking the young man that helped us! He NEW NOTHING!!! He set up me and my Fiances phone numbers and information wrong making the online part the biggest struggle if I didnt have a car loan threw them I would not be banking with them terrible experience

I love banking at Mazuma. All the employees are helpful and pleasant. I just recently had a worker at my home try to deposit the payment check twice. Jacquelyn Blake went above and beyond to insure My account was only debited once. She researched the problem quickly. She was supportive, professional and extremely knowledgeable. It s very comforting to know my money is safe is Mazuma hands!!!! And that Mazuma employees really care about their customers.

I have had a car loan with mazuma for almost 3 years now. Within the last year they have claimed 3 times to have not received a payment from me. Every month Ive sent a cashiers check from my personal bank, and the first 2 times I was able to go back and pull the cashiers checks and resend them. This time, I tracked the cashiers check and found out it was cashed 4 days after I sent the payment, and now they are calling me 2 weeks later saying they have not received my payment. I will be contacting a manager, and the BBB on Monday and filing a complaint. Absolute worst service I have EVER had with a credit union or a bank.

Dumbest ATMs Ive ever encountered. They make your insert the card, pull it out, then it yells at you for not leaving your card initially. I have other accounts with the bank. Instead of listing these on the screen, it merely says other account 1, 2, or 3. They dont return calls or emails (both Ive left) for pertinent issues, instead waiting until your issue is almost forgone then they dont even acknowledge that THEYVE dropped the ball at your expense. The customer service is helpful but not knowledgeable. They should know how to function in a way other than to just pass the buck to another agent as they play hot potato while repeatedly transfering customers as the end of the day nears. Then they create more problems when there shouldnt. I had an issue with my account where I hadnt been able to pay on a loan...once able, I realized the ATM card was deactivated. If thats my only way to get money in (bc I work nights), now youve made the issue much more complicated. Cant call bc they only do normal business hours....even more so counterintuitive. Then the alternative method THEY GAVE to get them their money, DOES NOT WORK. They said to use the night deposit bc there wd be envelopes and all to put everything in.... Guess what isnt there? Anything! So now everything is further behind because a simple process now has 80 steps each contingent on the step preceding it...and this has all fallen apart at step 2. Nothing is as they say with them....But Im sure somehow this is my fault. Dont get me wrong, Im happy they even allowed me the loan but come on! Why are YOU making it so hard to get YOUR MONEY back to YOU!? Rebecca! Why have you STILL NOT RESPONDED!?

Online scammer is using printed cashier checks that look like they come from this bank but are not real. Beware! EDIT: I was asked to send more information via email to [email protected]. I would if I could but Google cant seem to find your address or the system cant receive mail. So sad.

Highly DO NOT recommend this bank. Everyone here is rude, disrespectful and they think theyre high and mighty. They do NOT know how to communicate. They do NOT acknowledge when they have people waiting at their drive thru. They stole $80 from us. We went to the drive thru and paid $80 to our bike about 2 weeks ago. Now they are saying they havent recieved a payment in long time. We had $340 to put on it, but they wont accept it because we are $31 short. DID NOT and DO NOT appreciate Sheryl talking to us like we are incompetent and cant understand. From what I understand is they wont work with you they just want your money. They do not care about the people who bank with them. Its sad.

Fantastic service! I recently opened an account/loan with Mazuma and I was approved very quickly at the best rate compared to any other surrounding credit union. On top of that Brittany W. Worked very hard with the seller and I to get us through the process. Even when we hit some bumps Brittany was patient and would do her best to keep in contact and work through the problems. As of today I am very happy and highly recommend others to Mazuma.

Poor customer service which needs improvement. Very rude staff, realize that people have options when it comes to banking. I was treated very rudely today at this branch and went to the troost branch and they have better service and good atmosphere. I am moving from this bank soon.

Highly recommend banking elsewhere, Mazuma claims to be looking out for the best interest of one person - you, that is simply not the case. I have been a loyal member of theirs for 16 yrs. After 1 dispute on my account in the 16 YEARS I have been a member, they no longer want to help, nor do they want to look out for my best interest. If you are thinking about joining, think again.

Im surprised to see any negative reviews. Mazuma has been an excellent credit union for us...competitive loan rates, friendly customer service at multiple branches, with little to no fees. The phone system I thought was good but majority of reviews on here seem to be negative because of that. Dont let that dissuade you, this is where I keep my money.

They NEVER answer the phone # listed online or on your banking paperwork. You get a robot no matter the option you choose and will be on hold until you finally give up. The review that states they always answer the phone is clearly an employee. This is the worst customer service. DO NOT USE THEM if you can at all help it.

Unfortunately, I have nothing good to say about Mazuma. If you try to call them at any location you get stuck on hold for over an hour, every time! They really need to figure out a way to handle the call volume if its just so high!
