Stopped by this branch on May 20 to wire money for a private equity purchase. Danni Hartnell and the team were simply amazing in getting this done, including emailing me and calling with confirmation! Could not ask for more and night and day different from my experience at another bank I use. I will drive an extra 20 minutes for this bank for that reason! Thank you, nbkc!!

My experience with the National Bank of Kansas City was exceptional. While I thought the best way to deal with a mortgage company was face-to-face, I was definitely proven wrong. The VA loan I received was the best rate of the severral companies I contacted and the closing costs were comparable. The closing of my loan was on time despite numerous setbacks by the seller. All of my questions and concerns were handled promptly and correctly.

Jeff Barnett of the National Bank of Kansas City was extremely competent, courteous and responsive. If he didn't answer my calls immediately, he returned them within 30 minutes consistently. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I have purchased six homes in the past and this mortgage company was the best I have used.

We have used National Bank of Kansas City for the last two homes we purchased. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to purchase or re-finance. The service we have received in each case has been excellent. Our Loan rep. was Amy Stuhr-Patterson and she was outstanding. The process is very stream lined and efficient. On our last house, the seller's rep. really dropped the ball on a few important documents and Amy was proactive and I believe the only reason we closed on time was due to her diligence. I have recommended Amy to a couple of friends and family members. If we ever buy another house I would use National Bank of Kansas City again as they have great service as well as competitive rates and lenders cash.

Matt Hering did an outstanding job in getting me through the VA Loan process. He walked me through and made sure we had everything that we needed to get to the Underwriter. My process took longer that usual because of the refinance of my old home with my ex-wife... but once that process was completed everything fell into place and within a couple of weeks we were closing and now I live in my beautiful log home. Again, Thanks Matt for all the hard work, I really appreciate it and will for sure recommend National Bank of Kansas City as a lender for mortgages.

The National Bank of Kansas City and Chris Hendrix did a great job helping through the loan process! They were able to turn around and make a 30 day closing happen with no pain at all. Chris did a great job of walking me through the entire process and answering all my questions. I told all 3 banks I was considering for my loan upfront that I was shopping for rates and comparing their offers. Chris was the only one who didn't act offended when I told them this and continued to offer the same great customer care. I have recommended Chris to 3 of my friends all of which are planning on using NBKC for their home loans.

Received 5 Star service at nbkc. This day and age it seems harder to find premium customer service. That is exactly what I received from Linda Sutherland at the Indian Creek Parkway nbkc location. I recommend these folks for any of your banking needs.

Bank in Overland Park needs to move to a location that is not so congested, has more available parking spaces, and has a drive thru lane. Other than location that has walk-in only access and no public bathroom, customer service and employees are great. Love doing business with them.

This bank is just disorganized and potentially dishonest. They closed an account without telling me, and I have offered my PC for inspection as well as gmail accounts for inspection regarding their supposed communication. Next I lost a debit card and went through their 3rd party process to resolve, but here we are and of course there was a miscommunication ,because...OF COURSE there was a miscommunication with NBKC bank, and I was supposed to call NBKC to order a new card, meanwhile here I am with all the charges associated with the card failing, two weeks later! I called, of course they have to now order the card. I cannot cannot cannot wait to be free of this company.

These people are rude, unhelpful and made me feel stupid. I had opened up a new account and used their mobile deposit service thinking that it would be like any other bank and I would receive my funds the next business day. They put my funds on hold for over a week and when I questioned them they said there was nothing they could do and that I should have read their fine print more carefully. In addition, I never received my checks or debit card which had been processed over a month ago and was never notified of any efforts on their part to try to rectify the situation. If I could give a 0 star rating I would because this is the worst bank I have ever worked with. Don t bank here unless you feel like being taken for a ride and wasting your time.

Horrible experience on my jumbo refinance. Started smooth, then Vic DeSantis my loan originator told me I had to buy a Costco membership for $250. After my appraisal was paid for suddenly they need to see more cash for reserves. Not an extra 2000 or 3000, but $28k. I sell some stuff and have the $28k in about ten days, but a few days later, they want to see $50k cash. No explanation on why. Vic goes on vacation, rates drop, but Im stuck with my current loan as NBKC has no rate guarantee. I need to pay $13k in points, which would have been covered by the rate drop. I tell Vic Im willing to wait 30 days to avoid paying the points, and he doesnt respond to me for over a Week. Im being told by NBKC to NOT pay my mortgage as my loan is in the final stage of underwriting at this time. After this long wait with no answers to my emails or voicemails, Vic drops me a 1-liner email telling me he did the best he could but I need to show $300k+ cash reserves and he cant make a deal work. This is fifty (50) days into the refinance process, when Ive jumped through every hoop and paid every bill NBKC has asked me to. Yes, Im self-employed, yes its an expensive house, but keep in mind, I have over 40% equity in my home, I have solid tax returns easily showing I can afford the home, and I have owned my own business since 2011. Also, none of these facts NBKC keeps discovering were hidden, they were provided before NBKC even ordered the appraisal. What a giant waste of time and money, worse still, I had been comparing 3 loan Companies and ditched the other two, after all three ran my credit. Now I get to start over with a fresh round of hard credit pulls, because Vic DeSantis is too lazy to know his own banks policies. Ironically, Vic won me over by claiming the other vendors were less than reputable.

Had a very positive experience with NBKC and Brad Gaebler. Brad did an outstanding job from my first call to the closing. He responded very quickly and explained every detail. I would use this bank and Brad again. I would also refer my friends and family to them also.

Initial experience was great and my loan officer was very responsive. However, once I decided to go with NBKC I didnt receive updates on the progress of my loan nor did I receive very timely responses to my questions. The initial interactions were great (which is why I chose NBKC) and the closing was quick and efficient (the notary came to my home). It was the middle part of the process that should be refined. It would be great to get periodic updates of how the loan is progressing and any emails should be responded to quickly (same day or at least by next day).

Mike W. and the team at NBKC Bank did a nice job on our refinance, but there were some details that could have been handled better. The rate and price were good, but this was not a great experience because there is not a single bank out there that has yet figured out how to make this whole process easier and more understandable for the consumer. If the industry were more transparent, and expected fees were published by location and type of residence, that would have made me feel better. I had to refer to prior closing documents to feel like I was not being taken advantage of, and even then, there was some question about some of the fees. I was given a credit, but it came from Costco, so I am glad that I used them to find NBKC for the refinance.

We did a refinance using the Costco program and were fortunate enough to get Matt Hering. Matt was excellent in communication and support and the overall process was well done. One issue that was annoying was their automated software for review and signature..it was dodgy to say the least fortunately Matt was there to hold our hand through the process. I understand that the software has been replaced which makes working with NBKC even better.

We just purchased a new home and had the pleasure of working with NBKC and Kyle Keutzer. They offered the best rates and their customer service was the best! There were no hidden costs and all the details of our loan were presented to us in a very clear and easy to understand way. Using their website was very easy and intuitive. Our home was a new build and the seller was difficult at times- moving timelines and missing completion dates. We connected with NBKC Bank through a referral from our COSTCO executive membership. NBKC Bank is one of COSTCOs preferred residential mortgage lenders. The NBKC Bank, 15 year fixed, mortgage loan interest rate was very, very competitive and the negotiated COSTCO member loan origination costs and fees were very low...resulting in a GREAT deal! We ended up with a terrific NBKC loan originator who was assigned to our mortgage inquiry and application. Our loan originator guided us through a very thorough NBKC Bank mortgage loan-vetting and underwriting process (it is very GOOD that mortgage lenders are now very thorough and cautious!). We had a (short) 5-week escrow-closing on our purchase. NBKC Bank entered the deal a few days after the sellers acceptance of our offer. NBKC Bank provided escrow with a conditional mortgage loan commitment letter within one week of that. NBKC Bank ultimately closed and funded the loan ON TIME! It wasnt easy, but the process was very thorough and very professional, and we achieved a great result and a great new home that is located closer to family and other things that are important to us! As a military member, I was planning to use USAA or NAVYFED for a VA loan, however; after my realtor in DC put me in touch with Bernie Kalmus from NBKC bank, I was quickly convinced to drop USAA and NAVYFED and use NBKC bank for my VA loan. Bernie was extremely professional and friendly throughout the process, and the loan process used by NBKC was the most user friendly and painless Ive ever experienced--and I have purchased 5 homes. Had a great experience with NBKC and Trevor Campbell, or loan officer. Found a link for them through one of the major real estate listing websites and tried them out. Trevor took the time to explain everything to me and their rate could not be beat. I checked with several other lenders and no one could touch the rate. Their website makes it convenient for uploading documents and e-signing when permitted. We successfully closed without any issues.

Had a great experience working with Ryan Ament on our refinance. He was always responsive to our questions and when a hiccup with the city of Chicago caused us to postpone our closing by over a week, Ryan stayed on top of things and made sure we closed as quickly as possible. Glen Coger handled my VA loan and we couldnt be happier. Efficient, accurate, SUPER FAST!! and beat the big name national competition on fees (by a lot!). Do yourself a favor and talk to NBKC before you make a final decision on a lender. Not all VA loans are created equal.

I was pretty far into the home purchase process with a different lender that started giving me the run around, not living up to their agreements, and treating me like I had no other options since closing was 30 days out. I decided to inquire with NBKC as an alternative, where their rep Travis Smith was incredibly helpful and just downright AMAZING! He responded to me immediately after my inquiry and dedicated that same evening to submitting my package. The level of dedication Travis provided to me as a customer was impressive and I had instant reassurance that I DID have other options. On top of that, the rates and closing costs provided by NBKC were nearly unbeatable. Needless to say, my previous lender was kicking themselves and completely changed their tune the moment I disclosed working with NBKC and what they were offering to me. NBKC funded the purchase of my new home in Westport last week and couldnt be more happy! Trevor Campbell was the Loan Originator who took my initial application 6 months ago and he was diligent with follow up and assistance throughout this period as I continually searched. I fly all over the country on a weekly basis so I thought it would be impossible to get this deed done, but the Online capabilities of NBKC made the home buying process seamless and as stress free as possible. I have experience originating mortgage loans myself, so I know it is a tough job, but Trevor was great about setting the proper expectations and was great to work with! Our loan officer Sharon Farnsworth was the best! She was consistently reaching out and updating us on the process and preparing us for the next step. Matt Hering was an invaluable asset during my my home purchase. My mortgage was very complex. I purchased a multi unit estate home , built in 1713, in a historic district, with a VA loan. My husband and I have owned our home for 15 years, never re-fid it, never missed a payment. So we wanted to re-fi to do some improvements on it and get our debt down. Every company in our state, other national companies, all said the same thing. NO, your debt ratio is to high. My husband at the point of giving it all up stopped looking. I hit the find a lender on Zillow, and was contacted by Kerry. What a heaven sent man, not only did he explain the many ways we could apply. Walked us through it step by step, then when one way didnt work to our benefit. He tried another, until it worked for everyone. We live in Alaska and he is in Kansas, working with a time zone difference an OCD (me) person. We closed on the re-fi 4 days before plan. With her being located in K.C. and I in San Diego, I expected a few issues with communicating and responsiveness. This could not be further from the truth. Sharon exceeded all of our expectations. I was connected to National Bank of Kansas City via COSTCO. My mortgage agent was Jeff Palmer. I guess it would be a random choice at first since I would never know who will be connected when COSTCO agent connects me to the bank. I believe my luck was good enough. Because I live in MD and the bank is located in KS, our communication mean is nothing but emails and phone calls. However, I didnt have any problems with the limited communications. He is diligent and available anytime even if it is nighttime or weekends. Emails were responsive in timely manner and helpful. I received a call within an hour if he missed my call. Although I have never met him in person, I would recommend him if someone asks about him.

I started working with Dave of National Bank of Kansas City after my realtor recommended him to me. I was very impressed with his timeliness of response and his ability to work with me. I was deployed when I started looking and within a very short amount of time I knew what I could afford. He was very quick with a response to any questions I had and always knew the answers. When it came time to purchase the home and close he was able to meet my requested closing date which was almost a week before what we had originally planned. His ability to make this happen quickly and more importantly correctly was by far the most impressive thing. I own multiple properties and have gotten many loans in the past 20 years. If I had known the amount of time and hassle this loan would have taken, I would have never moved forward with the loan. This banks methods and underwriting guidelines are ridiculous! They wanted paperwork from me that had nothing to do with this loan or my financial situation, then numerous times, they would lose it and want it again. They have a secure system that clients send their information through, so hackers would not be able to retrieve sensitive information. Numerous times, the loan handler would not receive my information. Then he would send documents that included my SSN with regular email. I would gladly pay a higher rate to another institution than to go through the painful process with NBofKC. Think twice before financing with them.

She went above and beyond, constantly staying on top of any issue that arose, even on weekends and while she was on vacation. My partner and I have only been living in the US since 2013 so were complete virgins when it comes to financing a new home here. Amy at NBKC was fantastic. We just received a letter dated May 4, 2015 stating that National Bank of Kansas City (Refi through Costco Finance) has sold my refi loan to Central Loan Administration & Reporting. We just signed the papers on April 29, 2015 and the payoff was made to my former lender on May 4, 2015. I was wondering why my loan officer Greg Ramirez wanted me to fill out a review so quickly; now knowing this Im glad I did not type a review on the refi process with National Bank of Kansas City. Our process took us through the office of Jeff Palmer. Working through Jeff was such a pleasure. I initially spoke to him a year prior to refinancing our home and at the time the numbers just werent right for us. He said he would keep us in mind and would touch base when the numbers came close to what we were looking for. Low and behold, a year later, he followed up. I was referred to Kevin Kluck of the National Bank of Kansas City-Mortgage Division by Costco Financial Services.Kevin contacted me by phone immediately and sent me on online application for a home loan.Once I submitted the application and support documents he guided me through the whole process by email and telephone. Since my credit was not to par for this type of loan, he advised me to pay off and close a few credit high balance credit cards. I gladly took his advice and immediately improved my credit score. I have worked with Jim Schneider with National Bank of Kansas City 4 times, each time has been just as easy, if not easier than the last. Jim to me is the face of NBOKC, I go back him every time because of how well he takes care of me, great rates, great service. I have spoken to Jim a total of no more than 3 time over the phone because any question I have that I email him on, he responds within minutes, saving me from ever having to pick-up the phone to call. Glen Coger was our loan officer and was very helpful throughout the our loan process locking us in a great rate. Patience was another attribute of the representatives as the loan process can be stressful for all parties involved Glen responded to tense situation between parties in a calm demeanor. I purchased my home about 7 months ago and had a great experience with Bank of KC. They had the lowest rates I could find anywhere and their custoimer service was top notch. I now just refinanced my home and once again had a flawless experience with this bank. They make the process painless and seemless. Both times I delt with Myra whom was VERY responsive to any questions I had and always returned my emails very timely. Matt did a great job with our VA loan. He was prompt and worked hard to get our loan done fast. We had some past credit issues to deal with and they helped us get through them. I would recommend them!

Pete Steward and National Bank Of Kansas City made the VA Refi of our California home a very pleasant experience. He offered us a much lower rate then the other companies and made every date he quoted us. We will not hesitate to work with him again on our next loan. It was great working with Jason. He was really on top of the process. He provided periodic updates in the process and was prompt in answering queries and responding to phone calls. Working with the National Bank of Kansas City was exceptional. I had talked to a number of local banks who kept quoting high rates. I cast my net wider and was connected to NBKC. The rate was exceptional. I hesitated but decided it was worth the risk. Boy was it. Sharon Farnsworth worked hard and was very responsive. All of my questions and concerns were handled promptly and correctly. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use NBKC again.

Jeff Barnett from NBKC has now assisted me with two VA loans; One for the purchase of a home, and the second to re-finance at a lower rate. I had a first class experience with NBKC at every point. Their communication with the builder during the original purchase ensured a speedy 30 day escrow with no headaches. The re-finance to a lower interest rate was also breeze. I highly recommend Jeff Barnett and the team at NBKC!

My experience with National Bank of Kansas City was bad. I requested to close on a home loan within 40 days and they missed the closing date. Because of this extended processing time the seller refused to sell me the house. I was reassured multiple times that the loan documents would be sent to the title company on time. They ultimately took 2 days beyond the promised date. I am currently attempted to be reimbursed by the bank for a $600.00 inspection fee and $85.00 pest inspection. I highly recommend not using this bank.

Awesome Bank !!!! Great for veterans!!!!! I got a very low rate and the papers were prepared way ahead of closing. The closing took a half an hour, according to my friends that is very fast. I was also very happy with Matt Hering, who was very helpful throughout the entire process. Thank you guys again. Update: The refinance was a cake walk. I got a lower rate with zero cost to me and $800 in escrow. Very nice. Thanks again Matt H.

We have refinanced through National Bank of Kansas City 3 times over the last 8 years (twice on our previous house - VA loan, and once on our new house - conventional). Weve worked with Michael Thompson all 3 times and would go back again if needed! Great customer service and easy to work with!

As a home buyer you want to know that you can have a lender you can count on. As a Veteran, having a lender who knows VA regulations is necessary. As a Realtor, it is imperative to have a team you can count on and a lender who can get your clients the best rates. I am a home buyer, Veteran and a Realtor; Dan Rader at the National Bank of Kansas City- Mortgage Division has helped me close many transactions not only for my clients but also personally. Despite my reservations about using a non-local lender, I went with NBOKC because of strong reviews and that they gave the best rate and lender credit. Matt Hering made sure everything was set up for success early on and closed within 3 days of getting the VA appraisal back! Only challenge I had was with uploading documents which was sorted out once Matt looked into it.

This is the third time in 5 years that I have financed or refinanced with Seth Weigel and National Bank of Kansas City. There have never been any surprises or hidden costs during the lending process. The estimates given at the beginning of the loan process are just about spot on with the final closing statement. Even though we are located in California, we use National Bank of Kansas City for all of our financing/refinancing needs, as they have always had the best rates and lowest closing costs. Seth Weigel has always been pleasant, quick to respond, helpful and honest, which are all very important to me. I have also referred other customers to Seth and they have been extremely pleased also.
