I stop in probably twice a month looking for that "item" that just 'needs to go home' with me - LOL! Every time I enter the Store, I'm greeted with such a friendly "Hello!" from the wonderful Ms Woody or another Team Member! As I tour, I can't go far before I'm approached with a question if I need help? I can always count on having someone nearby should I need assistance.
I've gone home with small items like a Harry Potter Blu-Ray in new condition to almost a thousand dollars of audio equipment that we negotiated a great deal on. Every time I always believe we both came away with value in the transaction.
There is such a variety of items to choose from...I have to control myself whenever I go in to browse! I also enjoy the Special Events with Live Music, free grub, and of course, SALE PRICES!
I'm looking forward to doin' some tradin' in the future for some goodies...we'll see how that turns out?
It's definitely worth a stop if you're out 'pawn shoppin'!

I recently purchased a Glock on-line from OTP&P. I purchased this item based on their description and pictures alone. Their customer service was amazing! Dont waste your time trying to sell them anything. The old guy that i talked to on the phone said they would look at my speaker. I go in to have it looked at and he wouldnt even look at the speaker. Seemed uninterested in doing business completely from the beginning of the interaction. Dont know how they are able to stay open with such a rude person working there.

Called in last month paid interest on pawns they said were due. Called this month and they said I lost one. And wanted 4 months of interest all at once when it was their screw up. Not a good place to put anything into pawn if ur gonna pay interest over the phone

Wouldn t recommend this place. Worked with a lot pawn shops and this place refuses to give a quote for an item over the phone to maintain control and was rude from the jump. I explained I had the specs, and he still wouldn t be transparent. I am in in sales and understand the business. Though the call could ve been handled differently. Talk about a shady business. I m sure there s other associates that are more friendlier in person. I really wish I heard the guys name I spoke to over the phone. From a consumer perspective in the digital age, this place is trash.

I had several games I wanted to sell. A sealed never used copy of Pokémon Shining Pearl for Switch, a copy of Rayman 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, and Super Smash Brothers for 3DS all used but still in box, as well as a PS4 Controller and a reproduction copy of both Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Leaf Green. I took these to the Trading Post and ended up getting not only subpar service but also only 55 dollars for what would normally be, bare minimum, 100+ dollars. The man was very condescending to me and straight up lied to me about several of the games I had, stating things such as the 3DS games (that, mind you, included Super Smash Brothers which sells for a ton more money) only being a couple of dollars (as in 3 or 4) when in reality they sell for, at minimum 20, especially IN BOX, which all 3 games were. More insultingly, the man tried to tell me that the Nintendo Switch game that was sealed in box and had never been opened was only 11 dollars. Im not sure what site these people use, since that was the value their site had, but trying to pass off a sealed Switch game that released less than a year ago is absolute highway robbery. I understand they need to make money as well as the man put it, but 100 dollars for a set of items that, in reality, far exceeds what I was asking for isnt an unreasonable ask and I frankly feel cheated. This paired with the condescending attitude, the fact that I was ignored after my items were presented and the overall uncomfortable atmosphere the place had made the overall experience absolutely disgusting. These people were lucky that I was tired and exhausted otherwise the deal wouldve never even happened. I beg everyone to take your business elsewhere when it comes to this dump. Its not worth your time at all and youd basically be selling your items for free with the way they value items.

I purchased several 1 ounce American Eagle gold coins for spot plus 3% roughly 10 years ago. When I went to sell the coins back to them, they would only offered 65% of the spot price. Which is nuts . So I called around and found that most pawn shops were offering 97% to 98% of spot. Meierotto s offered 99% of spot which is where I sold them. Suffice it to say, I will no longer purchase gold or silver from the Olathe Trading Post.

Ive had my PS5 in before, I go 2 take it back and they cant honor the same pawn price bc they they say ps5 have gone down which is a complete lie. Ps5 r the exact same price as they ever been and just as hard to come across. I am a repeat customer. I dont only pawn I buy the stuff there too. Its an insult and a slap in the face. Ill be going to central pawn now. It might be a drive but at least they have respect. And they dress like a 4yr on his birthday playing cowboys and Indians(native Americans). Your experience here will very much depend on who you deal with My fiancé and his dad have came to this pawn shop every time for years whenever we re in the area and have spent a decent bit of money there including multiple firearms he even purchased his first handgun there back in 2018, several gaming consoles, TVs, stereos, etc. And usually they love coming in and talking to the guy that s at the back counter and looking at the selections and letting him talk them into buying stuff but if it s not one of the 2 awesome guys that are usually back there then you got the grumpy old man so don t expect any negotiation on price even if it s a fair and reasonable request like taking money off for a remote that was labeled as included but couldn t be found but don t let this Scrooge ruin this shop for you just come back another time when someone more friendly is around

Came here to check out what the place had to offer. My friend wanted to inquire about a gun that was in one of the glass cases. It took about 15 minutes for the clerk to even glance over at us patiently waiting by the glass case. After he wrapped up his chiefs praise he walked over and finally asked if we needed something. The clerk spun the barrel of the gun and said it needed some work. My friend asked how long it s been sitting here and the guy said not long just haven t touched it in a while. The guy makes zero sense. My friend even tried to make an offer which was $30 bucks off and the guy refused. So long story short don t come to this wannabe pawn stars joint, the clerk will be too busy shining his boots and dusting off his cowboy hat while wishing he was coaching the chiefs .

Went in looking to make a purchase. Two salesmen sat at the back counter talking about the Chiefs with a friend. Neither could be bothered to even look my direction. Once I asked for the sale-man s assistance, he mentioned the item I was interested in needed maintenance but failed to recall how long the item had sat there. After making an offer I was instantly denied, being told 10$ was the max they could take off. My friend was also denied a quote for a sale of an item already on the shelves. Save the gas, unless you wanna talk about how many games Travis Kelce will play next year.

Honestly, I appreciated the nice service but nearly all the products here are priced at current best condition prices, new or near new prices (say saving $20-$50 max) even when they aren t in that condition. Saw a set of golf clubs that priced at retail for a new set of the same brand. These are used items. I understand making profit but these aren t worth the prices you re setting at. From the motorcycles to the guns, you can find the same items cheaper elsewhere.

I used to go here in my younger years, havent been in a decade. Walk in, same old, very RUDE man was there. Claimed my gold was no good. Besides calling my dad a liar, had the nerve to say my silver was bunk. Rolled down the counter making it look/appear as it was fake. Hes the liar. Tried giving me a lecture about how long hes done this. I dont care. Maybe its been too long. I had my gold and silver checked out by a PROFESSIONAL. Its fine, theres nothing wrong with it. Obviously the old man either holds grudges, or is a liar himself, or both. The man NEEDS to brush up on silver, gold, etc. Much has changed in the market, especially as long as hes done this, Id 3cpectva professional to know what hes doing. Apparently this man doesnt keep up on silver rounds, distribution of, the silver content due to the shortage, AND rona. Maple Leafs weight EXACTLY 1oz, not more, not less. Its a COINas well, NOT a round. Learn the difference old man. My gold is from an IRA/401k. They do NOT make mistakes when it comes to that. Its ASSEYED. Signed and NUMBERED for retirement purposes. I hardly believe Credit Suisse would produce fake gold to fill IRA accounts. Thats called FRAUD. On a massive scale. People go to FEDERAL prison for such crimes. It appears this old man is WAY out of touch with reality. Gold and silver are NOT sold like they were in old west times,bold man. Learn new mints,what they produce, and for Gods sake, learn silver rounds and quit expecting the worst out of everyone. I understand one can get jaded in this business, but for Gods sake man, grow up, learn, and have some damn manners. Youre an embarrassment to that establishment. You lose sales, call people and their dead daddys liar,. Do you even know who Noble Gold is? Did you know you can cash in your IRA/401k for gold as long as its assayed? This place is our very own midwest version of Pawn Stars. Sure their prices might be a little bit higher than others but honestly folks you get what you pay for. If you want junk dont go here. Good quality goods of a wide variety. Ive purchased everything from tools to sound bars and never once had a bad experience with the service or products. Checkm out folks you wont regret it.

my advice would be to only get loans on tools or rodeo related items and definitely stick to things that are especially durable and avoid anything with a nice finish. They do not store valuable items in a sufficient manner which caused damage to several of my items, items that they know are valuable otherwise they wouldnt have given such a large loan on them and then when I bring it up they look at me like you just asked them to recite their times tables(thats difficult for a hillbilly) Youd be alot better off going to Heartland Pawn around the corner. Youll get better value for your loan items and the guys there grew up with indoor plumbing and understand book words

Just purchased 2 firearms from them. Ya know, we thought they were great guys...but DO YOUR RESEARCH before buying. I picked up a great Glock X19. I was told it was super hard to find. Went to a small shop in Paola and found it for $325 cheaper. Then the G2C I bought was $160 cheaper. Needless to say I wont be shopping w them anymore. I dont appreciate anyone who takes a financial advantage in the current situation when all we are trying to do is protect ourselves in uncertain times. So yeah they got me for almost $500.00. Never again......

Ive been a literal lifetime customer. Always were my go to place for 20 years. Ever since they moved to this new location their customer service has suffered. Now, whenever I enter the building I started noticing that their staff will turn their backs to me. Theyll pretend they dont see you or act like theyre too busy to help you. It was something I always forgave. Then, I recently went in to pay interest on some items. I got in line. Then, one of their employees got hostile & snapped at me saying, youre supposed to be going to the counter at the entrance to make your payments. Thats the 1st anyone has ever told me. & how is it my responsibility to know this? Anyways, Im outta here. Done with this place.

Discovered this place just a few years ago, and have to say these folks have made it one of the best pawn shops around, if not THE best. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, good prices, frequent and excellent sale events, and a wide variety of stuff. Ive done a good amount of business with them now, and they dont treat me like a valued customer. They treat me like family! I dont just give them my business, I send them friends, coworkers, and anyone else I know that is looking for a good deal on whatever they are looking for. Theres been several occasions when the folks working the gun and knife area have asked me about stuff they arent too familiar with, as Im a long time collector of such, and they tend to listen to what I say. Ive had to point out a few times they got something worth less than they thought, but usually I wind up telling them the opposite - they got something priced WAY under what its worth. Overall, they treat customers right and never have that If you arent buying something, dont come here vibe. I average one visit every two weeks, usually one a week, and freely admit I only buy something maybe one time out of ten, but they STILL seem happy to see me and chat away.

I talked to Dave over the phone, he was great. I met Bill, he was awesome too. I was dealt with fairly professionally quickly accurately and politely. You need a pawn shop you go to Olathe trading Post. Its a first-class operation staffed with classy professional good people and they are there for the long run not for the fast money you will feel the difference.

Its been stated before, but Kevin and Woody are awesome. These people are very keen on helping anyone who has any questions, and they make purchasing, trading, pawning items extremely quick and nice. If youre selling something, they do not lowball you, and they work with you to ensure you get a fair price to where both parties benefit. If you arent necessarily keen on a certain price, they will try their best to work with you to whatever may work with your budget. They also have layaway which is very awesome, considering not all shops have this. Ive been to almost every shop in the Johnson County metro, and this is by far the best.

This pain shop is one of the worst in the area for price consistency, both on items for sale and offers they give you for pawn and sale. Most everything they offer is sub par for quality and overpriced so much you can buy the item new for almost the same price. Dont waste your time going in to pawn or sale, its a guarantee the staff will do that for you once you get there. Have a blessed day!

I have been to other pawn stores and nothing compares to this one.The people are very nice,they are friendly,they will answer any question that you have.The best thing is that they dont pressure you.You can tell that they want you in the store.I have the best time when I go inside.I love it.I recommen it to everyone. Went in there not even a week ago and they had there 20% off the whole store sale but anyways I purchased my product (still had the sticker on it) I get home and look at the tag and there s Two stickers, one is stuck on top of the other and the top one is $50 more than the original sticker well with there 20% off sale it came back to the original sticker price.so just know you don t actually get any deals from there just another way for them to trick you

Have bought many many things there and have been able to negotiate on most items. Buy, sell and trade is what they do. If you have not been to a pawn shop, go. No stigma. I have been going there for nearly 20 years. Go still about every three weeks. Good people.

We love this place so much! Have been a loyal customer for about 4 years now. You have no idea what ypu are going to find inside. The staff is always so happy and smiling and so friendly. We love the lady who tends the jewelry counter. She is a delight. We have bought a lot from this establisment and encourage others to check out the vast selection. They constantly have sales and fun things going on such as events what not. Also you get to munch on free popcorn while ypu look around what could be better. We absolutely love this place. Would give it more stars if we could!

Was a customer of over 10 years and got lied to my face by 3 emplyees about my silver got a fair offer at first but 2 of the older fellas decided that it was to high and insted of renegotiating the lied and said it was fake so i went to heartland pawn and the bought it without hesitation for almost the price offered by trading post dont take your gold or silver to them take it to heartland pawn for better sevice and the truth.

I stopped in expecting the classic pawn shop vibe, but this business was open and cheery. Everyone I encountered smiled and treated me like they wanted nothing more than for me to enjoy doing business with them. Refreshing! And the customer service was speedy and well-oiled. I will be back several times, knowing there is always something interesting to discover and that the experience will be honest and pleasant.

Hi. My name is Zach. Today I went in and bought a Vizio TV on layaway. Woody and Mark were very very helpful at the checkout as well as the two gentlemen at the pawn counter that took many of my items to try and get the amount needed to get the TV. I ended up a dollar and 57 cents short of the layaway and they were willing to work with me to be able to get the TV in my car and home today where it s setting up perfectly in my room. This pawn shop is the best in the Kansas City area. They are very nice people. If you need to pawn anything, please give them as much business as possible! It s well worth it!!! 10/10 service 5 stars

Stopped by yesterday to see about getting a Kindle so I wasnt running down the battery on my phone so much anymore. Store had a great variety of them and they were all in working condition. Found the one I wanted and the staff was so helpful figure out which model it was. Got a nice generation 4 for only 14 bucks. Took it home and after snycing it to the computer and a software upgrade, it register to my amazon account and I have my books. They also have alot more awesome products and a wide variety of stuff. Staff is also so nice, helpful, and they actually help you instead of trying to rush you out the door. I will definitely be back.

I have been coming to the trading post for over a decade now. I have watched them go from a little tiny store to the best in KC. I dont live in Olathe anymore Im in KC Mo .....but I still make the drive over to them as I have never found a pawn shop that made me feel like I mattered as they have the best customer service ! They are very old school in the way they treat their customers like friends or family and not just a dollar!!! If anything the only one to ever be short or 100% nice its been myself not them!! Must day they give the fairest price on loans ..... they dont scam they give you what its really worth in the pawn market. They also sell their merchandise for a price that makes you want to come back . With the large store , selection, and awesome prices every visit is a treasure hunt to me Needless to say they are A #1 in my Book !! Thanks guys!

Great friendly staff with a good variety. We had pictures taken with Santa. It was by far the best experience Ive ever had and f every thing, pictures and all, was free!
