Drove 45 mins from kcmo to deposit a fairly large check in my new account to find out there will be a 5 day wait (with weekend it is going to actually be 7 days.). I wouldn’t have drove out here if I knew that. I called customer service and was informed I will always have at least a 3-5 day hold on my checks. I currently have USAA and there has never been a hold on any of my checks. I wish I knew I was not going to be treated like an actual member of this credit union before I went to the hassle of opening an account here!

They stole the money out of my accounts and refused to give me any information on what happened or refund my accounts. On top of that they are refusing to close my accounts. Banking fraud at its finest

Really wished they had more locations. When I use an ATM that is connected to NFCU it takes nearly 2-3 weeks before my deposit shows in my account. With only having one branch location is costly for me to travel to make my deposits in order for them to show the same day. Overall customer service is great I have yet to experience anything beyond making deposits with NFCU. The comments however would have me think of going elsewhere if I needed a loan of any sort.

It can be really embarrassing to call and discuss overdraft options especially during hard time as I like to call them in between blessings. I tried to avoid calling but for some reason my chat wouldn’t load however I ended up calling.
I initially spoke with heather in customer service who was very polite and got me over to the department I needed.
Once I reached the correct department to discuss oops ( optional or Overdraft protection services) I spoke with HEAVEN I immediately knew I was in great hands just by her name but her personality matched to a T she was very sweet, welcoming, loving, passionate, considerate, patient and all of the above when you think about what heaven is like !!!
I APPRECIATE YOU GUYS AT NAVY FEDERAL AND IM GLAD TO BE APART OF THE FAMILY ❤️

I started a loan with navy Federal Credit Union and starting out everything was great but 2 week's into getting a contract the communication went really bad on navy's end....I had to contact the agents and customer service multiple times to get updates. Then
finally they got back to me and told me there are issues, those issues were that my debt to income ratio was too high. After going back and forth it seems like they didn't do the paperwork correctly because the ratio kept changing and they requested more and more documents. We finally pushed forward but i still was struggling to get communication and my closing date was approaching.....the day of closing they said i was NOT approved and gave a different excuse this time. Now i come across some news about NFCU denying loan applicants due to the color of their skin and now it all makes sense. I hope they know that i will be filing a motion for discrimination. I hope no one has to deal with this type of unprofessionalism when trying to buy a home.

We have a mortgage and have purchased multiple vehicles through Navy Federal, many times by just making a phone call. They have never let us down and are very friendly and accommodating. We wouldn't bank anywhere else!

This is the worst financial instution I have ever dealt with. Not only did I have to open a savings account but so did my husband to open a auto loan account. Any other credit union only makes you open one savings account.
Then they don't want you using an external account to make your auto loan payment. And if you receive a "bonus" for opening said accounts, you can't transfer it out of their institution without opening yet another account at NFCU. Nor will they allow a one time due date change like most all lenders I have dealt with do. You also have NO grace period in when your payment is due.
Don't get me started on their customer service... Sometimes you get someone that speaks English but other times, you can barely understand their CSR; which is so frustrating.

NFCU is very good on a lot of levels.. But they changed their policy on mobile deposits being available on second business day.. So if you get paid on Friday and mobile deposit, your funds wont be available until Tuesday... So actually thats 4 days... UGGGG I need to find a new bank... not gonna work for me...besides there is only one branch in all of Kansas.....

First time ever coming to this bank with a simple request of card replacement.The card replacement took almost an hour to be replaced.I don t think I ve ever walked in a bank and was told to have a seat while we get that printed and it take that long.If I can help it I will avoid returning at all cost!

No communications they say you want to be approved in 1hr to 24 hrs they wouldn t give me a loan because they said I didn t give them a Social Security number yet they looked up my loan application with my Social Security number?? Today after I told them to shut down my account and send me a check! Today there is 3 letters from nfcu

Always an excellent experience at any Navy Federal Credit Union facility. Were lucky to have a branch here in the Midwest to accommodate those visits that are much easier in person.

Lack of communication, lack of clear communication, lack of urgency. This sums up my experience with NFCU mortgage department... The exception to this was the last mortgage department towards the end of closing that managed to get our closing done right on time (to the wire).

This is the worst credit union bank I ve ever belonged to if I were a new customer looking for a bank I would not put my money s here. The call center has no supervisor over the call center supervisor that you can speak with. When you are graded out of you money you have to wait 3 weeks to a month to receive you money back and they don t care about the customer only thing they care about is their policies i can t leave this bank fast enough if I was you do not go through what I have

I had a great experience my bank teller was Gary . He was so knowledgeable and he was so helpful I thought he was the manager this whole time I have been coming here and I have lived here 2 years. He was very professional and courteous. Great customer service!

When requesting a line of credit increase on your credit card they make you put down how much youd like. Theyre basically asking you to under bid or over bid. If you under bid I mean youre selling yourself short. If you over bid youre getting declined, hurting your credit and getting nowhere. Thats bad member service. I have another credit card where theyll tell you how much they can increase you, heck even Nebraska Furniture Mart tells you how much they can increase your limit without putting you into that situation. Horrible NFCU. Now I regret switching over.

Even though the branch is 30 minutes away, 99% of my bank business is online. As an Army Veteran, Im glad that I can be a member of both Navy Federal and USAA (their closest physical branch is 500 miles away).

I had a problem with my online account, and the two people working that day made sure I was taken care of before I left. I did make a deposit while there, and it did take till the next day to be available to me, but they explained that before I made the deposit. All in all, the cashier and her manager were very helpful in getting things squared away.

I recently went through a crisis where I had my identity stolen and bank accounts cleared out. Navy Federal was nice enough to give me a claim reimburse me for my money but then 2 weeks later mid month they took money back dropping me negative in my account. Luckily I had $148 left in another account with them or so I thought a week after reversing the fraud claim they pulled that $148 and threw it towards the debt leaving me with absolutely nothing. They didnt call send a message give warning for either of these two transactions. It just goes to show theyre all about the money they dont care about the customer.

Advertised 2.29 Auto refinance rates and gave me 10.79 on a late model used vehicle, sent me my transunion score via mail and its a 739.. the surpevisor on the phone said loan officers dont speak with consumers and we dont disclose how you can get the rate nor how they come up with 10% then said that your score doesnt matter they base it off more than that.. I work with credit and not disclosing how you even offer that rate is a garbage way to say Im not man enough to tell you sir. I will be reporting them and i hope no one has to deal with this type of service!

For the most part the online part is awesome. However, what kind of bank doesn t not accept coins!! I have a Change jar and was going to cash it it and deposit it into my account before vacation, only to find out the Leavenworth KS branch will not take coins unless they are rolled.. really? You re a bank, that s literally your job!

Such an awful branch. I called to add my husband to my bank account. Member services emailed me the paperwork and said that as long as my husband signs it and I have his license I would be able to add him. I drove an hour here to add him to my account and get his debit card to be told that he has to be here. Well I wasn t told this before. They said they can t verify his signature. He signs the paychecks that currently go into my bank account. And I have his signature in front of me, and he offered to FaceTime me. Nope won t help me. I will be canceling this account after 6 years. Ridiculous.

I will agree nice staff however very close lipped on important info. Made a deposit and have to wait a week for my hard earned money to get into my account. So looking at taking my business else where.

Unrealistic and unreliable customer verification process . I got roped into an account promotion scheme . This is how I became familiar with this institution in the first place . Worst mistake ever . If someone asked you to join navy federal and get 10 dollars to your account run don t do it . Further down the line I m wanting to actually do some business with my account and I m unable to because they can not verify my identity, meanwhile they have my name incorrect in their system from the get go . I cant update my name without access and I have no access because my name isn t matching up to who I actually am ? Thus maybe allowing them to hold on to a chunk of my money until I m able to drive three hours to a branch ! I will rectify this , and once I do I ll ensure it never happens again or to anyone I know of .

Ive had a savings account with this bank since I was born and started a checking account when they opened the LV location. They have always been wonderful. Theyre kind and thoughtful and remember my whole family. I started a savings account for my son when he was born and a save first account. A credit union is the way to go and this is a great one!

Wish we had one near Belton MO since there is plenty of Military out here. I drive an hour to go here as it is the closest branch to me. Never had any issues, I have always been greeted at the door and treated with respect. I get in, handle my business and I m out. Everyone who has helped me out is quick and easy to work with. Never had to wait longer than a few minutes. All this makes it a bit better for having to drive out the distance.
