We are actually leaving FIB. Last year they made a systems change that impacted the approvals on our account, they left us on the old system so that we could continue to get the required approvals. however, every time we attempted to make a deposit, the account was suspended because we were on the old system and they were forcing us to move to the new system. Sadly, they still didnt have the approvals we needed a year later on the new system. 5 times we went through this , each time we started all over it took days and weeks to get them to understand only to start all over with the next deposit we tried to make. So we tried to be patient and that is over. We are moving our account to where we can actually make a deposit. Fees and interest were pretty good, but useless if we cannot put money into the account.

Some random old guy in an HSE hat and a white car blared his horn at me in the parking garage just for skating and told me I was on private property when there s no signs posted for it, he then proceeded to insult me. If your gonna kick someone off your property you don t have to be like that that s just not how you conduct your self it s different if it s some place with a fence but this was a parking garage with open stairwells your staff needs to have some manners

Follow-up response: the VP of consumer lending reached out to me directly and provided a contact name to work with. Experience was still a little bumpy, but concerns were addressed and loan was completed in an accelerated manner. The VP apologized for the poor experience and ensured our lending needs were met. Cant complain about his customer service practices and very pleased with the actions taken. Prior Experience: Ive had numerous loans with FIB for over 20 years. Each time I apply for a new loan, the customer experience gets worse and worse. It would be great to acknowledge that a loan submission was successfully received through email. I have called and left several voicemails to determine if the loan request was received. Zero call backs. I finally got a live body, but they werent sure how to find my info. They called upstairs to speak with a friend that said my info was received and I would be contacted by late afternoon. Here is it on day 3 of loan request and no response. The other lenders we inquired with responded back within hours of loan submission. I am not looking for finalized loan details, just an acknowledgment that the info has been received and under review. A timeline would be a great thing to communicate to a customer....basic business practices. Years past, I would have had a loan approval by day 3 and an overnighted check on my doorstep within 5 days! Very disappointed in First IB. I would love to continue my lending relationship with this bank, but it is getting too difficult and I feel I am not a valued customer.

First INTERNET Bank and you are completely unable to bank ONLINE! Positive: Friendly staff and thats it! Everything needs done by phone or snail mail. Typical wait time to pay on my cc is a 20-45 min wait to speak with someone and then an additional 15-25 min process where they have to read a manual on how to accept my payment. AND you can only pay your cc (by phone) with a cc and not a checking account. You can mail a check, but the 2 times Ive done this my check gets lost and never processed. Awesome people, terrible bank!

They are located in a remote state (Indiana), but I gave them an opportunity anyway. Did not go well. Some very nice people who worked there tried to help me, however the policies and processes of this Indiana bank are unnecessarily onerous and outdated. Lesson: If going the regional bank route, stick to more progressive parts of the US, sadly. This bank is behind the times, but doesn t know it.

I have used this bank for years and theyve always been helpful. The customer service is top notch. It is easy to use, normally. Update: I have just run into my first unresolved problem with FIB. I applied for a credit card yesterday, ;however, they declined my application. This has never happened to me before and, though I called and e-mailed I have not been able to find out exactly why, yet. It was difficult to find the credit card application online and had to resort to a chat to get to it at all. Disappointed.

The web and mobile apps are simple, intuitive, reliable, and generally uncluttered with content I do not need. Interest rates for both savings and lending are very competitive, often the best available in the market. Human bankers are a simple phone call or email away...always friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile to help. Services like money transfers, bill pay, direct and e-deposits, overdraft, and financial software integration work exactly as expected. 17-year customer left high and dry over the Christmas weekend. My card was compromised on December 9 I received a text message that there was a unusual charge on my account and I flagged it as not mine I filled out the forms and them called the bank to question about getting a new card and was told one would go out on Monday the 11th . Called back on the 11th just to check and was told the same thing. I thought I should get the new card by Friday or Monday. Monday came no card so I called again and was told that it when out on the 11th ok so I waited some more I check on Wednesday still no card so I called again and was told the same thing. I ask to speak to a manager but was told they were in a meeting so I callback later in the day and was told by someone else that my replacement card did not get processed until last Thursday the 14th. Finely spook with a manager and was told the same thing. I asked about FedExing a new card but was told it would take 3 to 5 days. So, I am left without a debit card over the Christmas weekend. For a bank that has no branches getting a replacement debt card should be a next day prosses. Looking for a new bank now.

After the first couple of online-only banks I did business with got bought out by larger banks (and raised their fees substantially), I found First Internet Bank. I have been with them ever since. For more than two decades, they have had great technology, terrific security, but most importantly, when I need to talk to someone, I just give them a call and they always help me out. Have banked at FIB for 18 years and love the very personal service I receive. They have always accommodated me with one-off issues and this is the only bank I know that will give you full access to mobile-deposited funds the same day they are deposited. Love reimbursement of ATM fees (as they dont have their own network); this is a bigger plus then you would expect because then ANY ATM is accessible to you. I love this bank. Have had both business and personal accounts here. They are also an early adopter toward technologies like mobile deposit, crypto integrations, etc.

Ive been banking with First Internet Bank pretty much since they opened, maybe 20 years ago. I have not once felt the need to visit a physical building to do business with them. They have always attended to my needs in a very timely manner, in most cases during just one phone call. If I had to give just one complaint it would have to be the confusing manner (format / layout) of my exported transaction history. They combine the payee, description, and memo into one string then arbitrarily split it into two strings when it is exported. Its not a real big deal, but it does cost me time when I import it to my financial software to fix every last transaction. All in All I have been completely satisfied with their services.

Great savings account rates, easy once your business account is open, a little paperwork is involved in opening one with EIN number. Very responsive smallbiz team (via email is best). I wish there were less limits on taking out my money daily, monthly etc, and wish they had zelle for business accounts! If you dont need a physical bank for depositing cash or checks, makes more sense to make 3-5% on your cash sitting there.

I ve been with this bank since about 2000 when I got sick of all the big banks taking my money through ridiculous fees. They ve always had above-average interest rates, even for checking accounts, and they make it easy to avoid fees with reasonable daily balances. I know there are credit unions and even some of the bigger banks that are catching up with their technology and offerings, but I still can t imagine ever changing banks. Their daily Zelle limit is only $500 which isnt enough when you need to send someone more than that. Other banks have limits of $3,500 (WFB) and $5,000 (Chase). Their MMA has a monthly minimum in order to avoid a fee and the APY is not nearly as high as Fierce Bank or Valley Bank. Both of the latter have no monthly minimum balance to avoid a fee and both have a current APY of 5.25%.

We have been customers for a long time and love this bank. Great rates and awesome customer service. Working with them is great. When we were buying a car and need a large wire transfer they made it easy. We even moved to other state and have had no iseue. When we started bank with First Internet we lived in Fishers, In and have moved to Holland, MI. Have a great experience with them.

Weve had our business accounts at First Internet Bank for about two years. They offer competitive interest rates for business accounts. The ability to do ACH transactions is a definite plus. Their customer service is the best! Anything I have ever contacted them about has been taken care of within a few hours, usually less than an hour. I am a very satisfied customer and plan to continue doing business with them.

Have been repeatedly impressed by the quality, responsiveness, and courteous service from the phone support (direct banker contact), to that received when visiting their office to obtain a cashiers check. They always answer the phone, and are available by email and in person. Their interest bearing savings money market has great rates compared to my old mainstay brick and mortar multi site branch company that gave a fraction of a percentage interest for years. Plus you can t miss their building wuth the old fashioned huge letters sign on the roof! So glad I found DIB!

This bank was completely surprising. It is an internet only bank but the service far surpasses any brick and mortar bank. My husband actually set up the account for me because he had the time and it was impressive the number of times the bank called and touched base to make sure the process was going well. I can t begin to recommend enough this bank and Russell who was the primary point person with my husband.

The most unprofessional banking experience our company has ever had. They froze our account and funds to do a routine assessment after only having the account for a week. After holding our funds without access for 2 weeks during this assessment, they told us they were closing our account and mailing us a check. When we called for status updates, no one could tell us anything. Strongly recommend you go with a less communist bank.

Caveat Emptor. I have a new business Money Market. so far my experience has been less than stellar and I am losing confidence in this institution rapidly. When you sign up to open an account, you have to fund the account. It will let you connect to your external account via searching for your institution and authenticating using MX. That initial transfer somehow got rejected as Account not found. . . MX is the one that gathered the information. How is it wrong? It had no problem getting the $8,000 from the same exact account a few days later. No real answer from FIB. Last night I tried to schedule two transfers from my external account to my account. They were for $10K each. Due to the $10K daily limit, I had to schedule these for two different days. One was for the 27th, the other the 28th. Both dates were permitted to be chosen. Somehow, one was a transfer FROM the external account TO FIB. The other was FROM FIB to the external account. Subsequently nullifying one another. When questioned, the rep said I initiated a transfer out. The funny thing is, I have no option in my transfer menu, either in the App or on the website, to select my FIB Money Market account as the FROM source. There is not way for my to initiate a transfer out of their bank. None. When questioned about this, I was told that when that transfer is completed, that I will once again have the option to select it. I will verify that in the next day or two. Those transactions are supposed to clear today. If in fact I can select to transfer out, I will correct this review. Two stars are given because they have good rates, but so far I am not finding any one who can answer questions well. After spending 20 years in banking, I kind of understand the processes. I understand limits on new accounts, holds, etc. But I dont understand is not getting someone on the phone that can better explain issues.

My young adult children and I were discussing finances and how to improve their savings rate. We researched online and found First Internet Bank of Indiana and their good rates. I encouraged both kids to open a CD and they did. I agreed to be a joint owner to help them with the online process. To my shock, both transactions for a CD were declined! Neither of my kids have debt or have any negative credit or banking history. When we called and inquired, after a 20 minute wait for a real person, we were told maybe it was because or a recent change in phone number, email, overdraft, job change, etc none of which apply to either of them. I was told the decision was computer generated. Really no helpful information given to explain it. Talk about no good deed goes unpunished! My kids were both disenchanted by First Internet Bank of Indiana.

Spent a good 1/2 day trying to open a CD account. Tried to do it on a time they weren t open and that was my first mistake. After calling them when they were opened found out it was an IT glitch on their end. Was supposed to have me set up in a couple of hours. Never happened. They had the best rate but good luck getting an account opened. Found a much better bank with a lower rate but no hassles.

One year and two months it took to close on a SBA loan. There was a 2 month delay for environmental testing on my property which I will not fault them for. However, every other aspect of closing this loan was tedious, repetitive, and borderline predatory lending. Certainly the worst loan experience Ive ever had. Ryan Kroge was my banker and Susan T. was the closer. I was asked for the same documents multiple times, there was a severe lack of communication at times between the banker, closer, and all other depts of this bank. Crazy amount of fees, unnegotiable terms, etc etc.. Even my own attorney commented on the disorganization of this bank, the amount of redundant info and documents requested, and just the loan process in general. Lots of good reviews so Im sure theres a silver lining with this bank but not for me. For the sake of not writing an essay, I will leave it at that. Will never do business with FIB again.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I had a very negative experience with First Internet Bank. I was denied a Money Market Savings Account for reasons they refused to divulge or allow me to address, other than to say it was related to potential fraud (I suspect it was due to a recent name change following a divorce). Furthermore, DESPITE DENYING MY APPLICATION, THEY STILL PROCEEDED TO TRANSFER THE FUNDS FROM MY REGULAR BANK! When I complained and told them I wanted my money returned immediately, they said they could not do so, that it would take 1 to 2 business days. The money finally showed back up in my account 4 business days later. So beware, if your application for an account is denied, they wont tell you why, and they will still take your money!

The best thing about First Internet Bank is that you have very good rates, not the top top rates, but you have excellent customer service still. This combination worked for me. Your chat staff is exceptional. It is so nice to be able to get quick answers from people and be able to navigate the online experience. I don t need brick and mortar but I don t like to be left hanging and feel like I have no idea if my money is safe. For me, you really hit the mark between great interest rates and great customer service. Thank you.

So far I am satisfied with the services FIB has been providing. I opened a CD account 2 weeks after my savings and was easy to fund the account that same day. I also received a call from a FIB mgr welcoming and informing me an easy process to open an account using their online banking system which will be great in the future for new services!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BANK! zero communication you are left in the dark then get hit up for more fees after your loan is closed. candice dana and paige this has been the worst loan experience of my life i now have a 50k loan for something i can not even use because of lack of communication , professionalism and knowledge. It s a slow, tedious process connecting bank accounts (at least for me;-) for transfers, but the APY should make it worthwhile. (One note, our Banker in CA asked why we did not simply write a check . I ll look into that and try to post what I find.

Update: They called me after noticing my review a couple years later which reminded me that I have had two mostly good experiences since the poor refinance process. So I added two stars. Always the lowest rates available. 2019: 1st mortgage; 5 stars. 2020: Refinance; 2 stars. 2021: 2nd Mortgage; 4 star. 2022: 3rd Mortgage; 4 stars. Here were my issues with the refinance: 1) The worst by far was the bait and switch closing cost quote. I told them I was shopping around for quotes and their response was a fantastic deal. I told all the others I would not be going forward with them and proceeded with First Internet Bank. Then well into the process they sneak an emailed form in for me to sign. It mirrored the previous form I had signed so I thought it was strange but signed anyways. Looked at it later and they changed 1 line item without telling me which added $800 to my closing costs. 2) Would not give an instant rate quote online. 3 other brick & mortar banks did but the internet bank couldnt? 3) Required credit check and tons of application paperwork for quote. 4) Not once did I speak to a person. I asked them to call me at one point and they emailed back >.< 5) I started the process in early July and my first new payment started in January. Super long process but the other banks said they were averaging 3-4 months.
