The staff is ABSOLUTELY the best! Always super helpful. When we have taken items in for loan, they always work with us to get us the money we need. My husband and I have also picked up some excellent items for our family. When we purchased a bike for our son the gentleman helping us went through the whole bike ensuring everything was adjusted and and set up for him. Really above and beyond his expected duties. My husband and I have lived in the valley our whole lives and we have done business with some of the other pawn shops. However this particular business and its employees go above and beyond with exceptional customer service ! Hands down our favorite if we could give more than five stars we would!

My father offered to redeem a loan I have with them, he wanted to use his card.
They don't accept cards anymore to redeem your loans lmao. They don't have an at either. So you will have to leave to get cash. Go next door and pay 3.50 atm fee plus a bank fee for using foreign atm. Or drive to your bank (hopefully it's close) and get cash out. What a terrible terrible idea. You can still buy stuff with a card. You just can't buy YOUR OWN stuff back with a card. What a joke.
Walked out without my item. Very disappointed and confused at this business decision to inconvenience customers like this and they acted like it was normal, and we were the weird ones for being confused... As of every business nowadays only allows cash when it's the exact opposite.

Today, we went in looking for a few specific items to buy. There was a young lady with orange hair there to help us out. She was very sweet, kind and knowledgeable. We were able to find 2 out of the 3 items. She suggested a comparable piece to the one they didn't have. She made some valid points in comparing the 2. We went with her suggestion and couldn't be more pleased. I'm so glad she was there to walk us through the pros and cons then find the exact thing we were hoping for.
I wish more customer based stores had employees like this young lady.

The staff at this store is awesome! They always do their best to help people out. Every time I have been in they take whatever items they can, and if they can't take something I have, they ask me if I have other items that they can loan on or buy instead. Sometimes when I am there it does get busy but they always get to me as soon as they can. I highly recommend them if you need some quick cash. Ask for Bill or Monica they both rock!

I hate to have to leave a review like this, but the experience I just had with an employee at this establishment, was not what I was expecting from this store. I came into the store today, looking to pay off the loan I had taken out, and was met by and employee named Kayla. I had just paid off the interest I had incurred from the past two months and was looking to pay off the rest in order to obtain my laptop. The loan was for $450. Given, I hadnt remembered the correct loan amount and thought it was $400, as this was not the first time I have pawned this particular laptop. I was corrected and pretty much just chalked it up to operator error on my part. No big deal. Well, having just paid off the interest on the loan only a few days ago, I was expecting to pay the principal amount, plus a few days of interest that had incurred over the past five days. So, at this point, Im expecting to pay somewhere around $460 to obtain my property but was given a completely different number of $540. Now, this did not make sense to me because, going off the 20% interest rate, I did the math of: 10% of $450 was $45, so doubling that would give me a 20% interest rate of $90 a month. With August having 31 days, I divided the $90 by 31 days in the month and came out with a daily rate of $2.90 a day. So, again, having paid off my entire balance on the loan, I just added the five days of interest, which came out to be $14.50 interest, plus the principal balance of $450. So, adding those together, this gives us a total of $464.15 due, in order to get my laptop back into my possession. So, you can see my frustration when I was given a total of $540, being $75.85 over the amount I was expecting. I asked how Kayla obtained this amount, and she told me that I was required to pay for the entire month of interest, rather than the five days that had accrued interest. This was incredibly difficult for me to understand, as I wasnt aware that I could be charged interest for days that my computer was not being held by the store for the loan I took out. I made sure to stay polite with Kayla and simply asked to speak with the manager, Monica, to make sure that the numbers we were looking at were indeed correct. Having asked to speak with Monica, I was met with annoyance and impatience from Kayla, simply because I wanted to double check the numbers. As Kayla walked over to the store manager, whom was barely two feet away, Kayla then said out loud: Can you please tell him that the numbers are correct. He just doesnt get it. Now, this was not a problem of me not getting it... It was me simply asking to make sure that everything was being processed correctly. But, instead, I was met by an impatient employee that had better things to do, rather than help me get it... After Monica explained to me that this was indeed how the store operates on their loans, I was baffled, but held a polite composer and thanked Monica for her time in checking the numbers. I needed my computer, so I had no choice but to pay the amount that was demanded. I then thanked the girls for their time and, as I walked towards the door, Monica was nice enough to wish me the same, but Kayla, not only ignored me, but looked at me as though she couldnt get rid of me fast enough. The service I was given by this employee, Kayla, was completely inappropriate. Basically, saying I was too stupid to understand what was going on, then ignored me as I wished her a good day. I do a lot of business with this store, and NEVER have I ever experienced what I did today. Kaylas customer service was incredibly rude and uncalled for. This employee needs to be trained on how to treat customers more politely, as I dont think this store wants to be known as a store that simply wants to make you feel stupid for even questioning their ways. The only reason I gave this store 2 stars was because, the service that Monica provided was helpful and courteous. I still recommend using this stores services, but I do not recommend doing business with Kayla.

I had to give a one star because no option for no stars...bought a battery jump box, went to use and didnt work..took in to get a refund or store credit, was told they wouldnt give any type of refund and asked why they would want something that didnt work on their shelves. So why was it on the shelf in the first place. Will never shop this shop again.

For the last two years, Pawn 1 @ Maple Grove have carried me through some rough financial times. Almost every time Ive taken in an item, Ive gotten a great value loan on the item, allowing me access to the money I need to help carry me through. The staff here are all solid friendly and understanding, Tom, is a friendly young man and exhibits excellent customer service skills and Bill, well, hes the man. Amazing location and staff! Was sold a PS4 at Christmas time when thesr consoles were SOLD OUT everywhere else, at a price I coulf afford. I was short a few dollars and they were able to adjust the price so I wouldnt go home empty handed. Great customer service! Will definitely come back again!

I went to this pawn shop to get my pickup selector fixed on my guitar. Chris who worked there helped me with everything i needed. He fixed the switch ,and made the strings easier to hold. I have had great experiences here buying video games. They are always reasonably priced and willing to work with you on your purchase. Even recently I bought the wrong game by mistake and they hooked me up with a trade to get a different one, even if they didnt have to. Great guys down there.

Probably the best selection for guitars and amps in Boise but probably the worst at pricing items at fair market value. The salesperson admitted he didnt know much about the guitar he was selling. I explained to him what he had and how much they sell for used and made a very reasonable offer. He offered to come down 5% on an item thats priced about two times street value. In all the years and all the pawn shops in Boise, this is the only one that Ive never purchased a guitar from.

They were super rude to me and wouldnt listen to me, they kept asking my male friend (my ride) about MY MERCHANDISE like it was his, I even said HELLO, this stuff isnt his its MINE then theyd just continued to talk about my merchandise and how it was going to be SOLD, I in return said, Im coming BACK for my TVS and that skateboard is my HUSBANDS, theyre like Everyone says THAT, theyll come back and DONT, I said, I WILL & I AM GOING TO it took me forever to even BUY the thing. After a moment of award silence they kept undermining me and talking about me like I wasnt in front of them how RUDE & inconsiderate, also very unprofessional!!

I have bought several Items from the Maple Grove Pawn 1, and they have always taken care of me. I am a musician. I have purchased 2 guitars and an audio mixer. The guitars, on separate occasions when they were purchased, did not come with cases. They didnt have to, but as I was being rung out through the register, they went into the back and found cases to fit the guitars. not just soft gig bag type cases, hardshell road runner brand cases that run almost $150 each. As for the audio mixer, they couldnt find the power supply that was supposed to included with it. Instead of just ignoring it, they took the amount off of the price that it would take to have a new power supply bought for the unit. Always very happy with the customer service and are always my first stop when Im in the market for some good used gear. The quality in the items they have are excellent, and reasonably priced. And every once in a while you can see some pretty good finds.

Husband bought midi controllers and the sales rep said he has within 24 hours to return them if they didn t work with his computer he could return them... he came home they didn t work he went to go return them and they refused to return them! Always worth the visit, I have purchased many pieces of music equipment and video game items, and the employees are always incredibly helpful. Everytime I have been seeking something, whichever employee is helping me is more than happy to check the other locations for me. Yesterday I bought a PSVR bundle and found that the camera stand was not in the box, when I went back in to ask about it, right away they gave me one that they had in there. Great customer service! Very friendly staff! I called looking for a particular movie and the woman on the phone (I believe her name was Katina) said they didnt have a record of the individual titles but shed go look out on the sales floor. After a couple minutes on hold she came back and told me that she found a copy, and then she put it on hold in the back for an hour so I could get down there to buy it. Even though they were swamped when I came in somebody flagged me down at the door. I told them about the movie and they ran to get it and then rang me up quickly. Great deal too! After that I took a quick peak at the jewelry and also snagged a few nice silver pieces for a good price. Great all around customer service! They really go the extra mile!

My boyfriend and I came to the store for our new car system and we had the best experience there. Adam helped us pick the right stuff and showed us what we needed to do to get it all set up. Adam was friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend going there and getting your stuff. Best pawn shop in boise.

This place is hands down a great place to get good items and great prices. The staff is always helpful when I go in. Adam the Manager is very knowledgeable I am always help me find what Im looking for even if its not at his location I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a solid pawn shop.

The entire staff is awesome, so professional and FUNNY..patient and very helpful..Katina rocks the place, got a beautiful piece of jewelry for my wife and she made it happen, Pawn 1 made it happen! Adam really takes great care with his staff , great people all the way around.

I needed some extra cash to cover my daughters prescription. I went to the Garden City location 20 minutes before closing, and they said I needed to take my music stuff to the Maple Grove location. I immediately got in the car and raced over there. I called them on the phone and explained my situation and the guy said as long as Im there right by closing Im fine. I pulled into the parking lot, tired squealing, and a gentlemen was waiting for me at the door to make sure I got in. Not only did they wait for me, they gave me exactly what I needed; even with being undable to fully test my equipment because of the time frame. The guys were so nice and friendly, and their great senses of humor helped a lot, too! I have alqays used First National, but will now be switching my quick money needs to the fellas at Pawn 1!!! Thanks again for so much help! You made this moms experience amazing and really helped me out in a bind.

You can tell changes are happening in this store. The store is looking cleaner, more organized and the staff was helpful and friendly. The jewelry section is my favorite and Katina was very sweet and friendly. The new manager was friendly and greeted me upon walking in. Great products and great service. Highly recommend you come check this place out.

I thought that this pawn shop was full of professional workers who care about there customers but after my last visit I saw that I was clearly WRONG ! If you have the chance to save yourself avoid this place at all costs ! The manager and workers accuse me of bringing in stolen merchandise even though I had the receipt to prove it was mine. They will make you wait a ridiculous amount of time before anyone will even come to help or asked if you ve been helped and they do not offer fair prices for merchandise. The bald guy didn t even try to help us I rate his customer service , the managers customer service a BIG FAT 0! If I could give no stars and be able to leave a review I would ! I will never recommend any of my friends or family to this place ever again. A good recommendation to the store: Please take a class in providing good customer service. Thank you

Not enough staff, I went in today to get something as simple as a Guitar Pedal but I couldnt because it was behind a case and there were only 4 people working there and one of the employees who worked in the music department spent 40 minutes with a woman and I stood there looking like an idiot the whole time waiting for something that couldve taken less then 1 minute.

I went to the store to trade in some gaming equipment for my daughter. We were greeted by the manager Alexis...... Oh my, one of the greatest employees pawn one has the privilege of having on staff. The customer service was above the five star rating system. I wont go back to game stop, Ive been to the other pawn one stores. Ive found my favorite, people that earnestly care about other people make this store unique. I cant say anything else but, awesome!

Pawn1 has a great selection of instruments. If youre ever in need for one, check them out first. They have a very friendly staff. Jessi was very helpful and even gave me a few pointers on taking care of my guitar before ringing me up!

Absolutely wrong that if you put something on layaway they keep all of your money. I can see keeping a percentage but the whole thing is crooked and wrong. Will never do business with them again.

Walked in without the expectation of buying anything but all the employees were wonderful and knowledgeable. Tim filled us in on some protection plans and made the visit fun. I was surprised when they said they arent commission based.

Rebecca was the most fantastic sales person I have ever met. My friends and I came in to buy video games for our new system and she was so knowledgeable about all of it, and so nice and funny. She was very personable and made me enjoy my visit at Pawn 1 very much. Thank You Rebecca! And thanks Pawn 1 for having such great employees. :)

I usually dont have a proble with these guys, but my last experience did not go well. I bought a tablet for my girlfriends birthday from them at a OK price, but what he failed to mention to me was that the audio doesnt work!!! Thats one of the first things my girlfriend noticed so we planned on returning it the next day. We went in today just for him to tell us he cant accept it due to it having a crack on the screen (She dropped it the night before) and hell have to sell it as is now. I told him I understand, but also asked if it shouldve been listed as is initially from the audio not working?! He said no. So I pretty much paid full price for a defective table that has no audio and a crack in it, and the girlfriend is unhappy..on her birthday. I even offered to give them back the tablet and knock off a little bit off a different one and he said he cant do it!? Thats the last time i will be doing business with them, and will not be recommending their business to anyone. Tldr; Dont buy from them, they sold me a defective tablet and wont work with me on getting a different one.

Just went here and the people are rude as hell disrespectful and very insulting as hell took an 800 dollar bike in to get an hundred dollar lone till Friday and they said my bike was older then it actually is and said it was worth 60 and he was going to sell for 500 highway robbery is what this store is I will not be back at all they need to learn how to do business and how to have customer service skills.

Attention musicians! If you are looking for used gear, shop here! Excellent selection of used guitars, and some rather good basses as well. Chris, who is usually behind the counter of Music Corner within the store, is very helpful. The prices are great. Edit: 8/20/19. I was just in a few days ago, and was quite pleased to see that the music section of the store has been expanded. More instruments and gear!

Been looking for a certain model guitar forever. Heard Pawn1 on Maple Grove had a music corner, so despite having been several other places without success, thought Id give it a try. Went down last weekend with my son to check out the store. Holy cow! Not only did they have the EXACT guitar I wanted, but Chris was exceptionally knowledgeable about the models. They even allowed me to trade in my old guitar! My son and I were given a tour by Melissa, who was probably one of the nicest sales people Ive ever met. She showed us tools (my son bought a drill), guns (my son strongly hinted at his favorite), and dvds, and someone named Phoenix showed us jewelry. I think I know where Im doing my Christmas shopping this year. Lots of choices, friendly and knowledgeable sales people. Whats not to like?

Worst in-store experience, Ive ever had. We had gone into the store to pick-up a pair of sunglasses. When, they brought out the sunglasses, they were COMPLETLEY different than the ones, he had originally seen. We told them, that those were not the glasses we had seen. Then, Melissa told us Im not going to stand around arguing with you, just take back your money. I even showed them a picture of the sunglasses and she proceeded to call me a liar. The manager of this place, should really check who theyre hiring. She seems to be the reason, that people stop going to this store. I am never going back to this store.

This store was decent. One employee was swearing and saying the f***. The guy that helped me didnt know what he was talking about or looking up. They should train or hire their employees to learn about things they have and sell.

I have never been treated so poorly at a place i was spending money at in my my entire life. The girl at the front desk melissa made my experience there one i will never forget and she is the reason ill never go back. She is rude, disrespectful and very unpleasant to deal with.
