Great customer service. Ted did a fantastic job finding the right scope mounts for my gun plus installing them for me. He also bore sighted the gun. Steven gave me some great information concerning a Winchester model 1897 12 ga. slam fire shotgun I brought in for evaluation.

The bolt on my rifle came out and I could not get it back in, FLASH, something is wrong! Being a novice to this rifle I took it to Buckhorn Gun & Pawn Shop to fix the problem. The individual who waited on me took one look at the bolt and rifle and said I will be right back. He was, and put the bolt back in. He did this in less than10 minutes. This is the second time I have been to this shop, both times the people are the most courterous and professional individuals around. Needless to say I highly recommend Buckhorn Gun & Pawn Shop.

This place is amazing. I had an issue with my Henry lever action. Took it here as suggested by another gun store. This decision did not disappoint. I was hoping they could fix it at a reasonable price. The gentleman took it and told me to give him a few. A short time later he came out with it in working order and explained what I did wrong. FREE of charge. Bought a few boxes of ammo just to try to get even. Honest and friendly. I’m sold on this place!

Great experience, friendly, knowledgeable people there. The owner was polite, knew a lot and was honest with me. These guys have never been interested in a trade of any sort. Attempted to do business with them with a few different occasions with expensive/high end firearms. Not even interested and are very uneducated when it comes to NFA.

OUTSTANDING! Very helpful and friendly. Had my Remington 300 RUM converted to a Sako extractor. Also had issues with my 7mm mag not clambering. Problem resolved right away. Now my go to gunsmith!

Had a rear sight on my pistol that was off to the left. Took it in to Buckhorn and while chatting with Dan and the fellas the gunsmith reset the sight. Wonderful service and a awesome bunch of guys!!

I had a problem inserting the slide lock on my Colt 1911. Stopped in and Ted recognized a small burr and filed it so it snapped into place. He didn t charge me for the service! The staff and atmosphere is awesome, Buckhorn will be my gun shop going forward.

About a decade ago, I stopped in and left a small 380 semi that had failure to feed without jamming for the gunsmith to look at and was told it would be about a week before he could get to it. I went ahead field stripped it down and they put the parts in a plastic tray. I returned a couple weeks later and they said he hadnt had a chance to look at it. I returned a couple weeks later, now being about a month and they said the same thing, so I asked them to return it and they brought the plastic tray out and the parts were just as I had left them...untouched. They then told me there is a $25.00 service charge to return my gun to me..... untouched. I smiled, paid them the $25.00, and in the past decade since have spent close to $20K on guns and accessories from other dealers in the valley and refuse to even look at their tables at the gun shows. Best $25 I ever spent to learn who never to spend another red cent with.

Not inexpensive but worth it for the quality of their smith work and the fact that they actually make time to listen and make sure they understand what you re talking about and/or looking for. Top notch smith work on one of my vintage revolvers, so again - the quality is there.

Another GREAT experience with Buckhorn Gun and Pawn. I needed a new recoil pad on a Remington 1100 and they did an outstanding job. Their gunsmiths are highly skilled and they do the work in a timely manner and at a fair price. Buckhorn Gun and Pawn also have an impressive inventory of handguns, shotguns and rifles. The visit I had with the owner was awesome and I don t understand how it could have got so messed up. It was as if we had been friends for years and I blame goggle for the mixup. He was totally professional and friendly to the point I felt we were friends forever. Took gun in to have a feed issue resolved. Problem was thought to be fixed after discovering ammo was out of spec. But after taking home i discovered problem persisted and so i tested things myself and resolved the issue. And after bringing this up with the store i was given a full refund.

I stopped in Buckhorn gun & pawn to browse. I asked one of the smiths, there a question about a older Anshuetz pistol I have and a problem I was having with the bolt and extractor. Ted suggested I bring it in and hed have a look at it. I returned the same afternoon and Ted looked it over, fixed the issue within 5 minutes and sent me on my way with no charge and a hand shake! Im really happy to have found Buckhorn Gun and Pawn for my challenging gunsmithing needs. I had a gun that was having trigger/safety problems after my own cleaning and they were knowledgeable and patient with me. Buckhorn is a no frills shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff and their helpful and competent smiths get you taken care of quickly to get things installed, fixed, and running right. Good selection of new and used and their FFL transfer prices can t be beat. The added value in service from a local shop like this outweighs any perceived savings buying from a national chain and most times prices are about the same. Give this local shop a try and let them help with a sale, transfer, service, install, or repair.

I am an x guide, very knowledgeable and trained in fire arms. I went to every shop in the treasure valley looking to purchase a new firearm. Most shops in town were not only overly arrogant but I had a far superior knowledge of my needs and gun specs than my salesperson. (Again and with all respect BUCKHORN EXCLUDED)! Cabela s is great for a day out, however zero stock. From the moment I walked in to Buckhorn I felt at home, and in the arms of gentle experts who asked all the right questions and listened first. On a sidenote I went into four different shops the same day and on my return to Buckhorn I met two older gentleman who are veterans and experts in everything firearms and while waiting for my approval after purchasing my 357 Taurus concealed carry 605 from Buckhorn I had the best time learning from these gentlemen. Please shop around but even if it s more money buy it from Buckhorn in Boise Idaho my name is Jeff Moll x pro guide and connoisseur of quality!!

Impressed with them. I ordered a gun online and used them as an FFL. They called me saying it was ready 30 minutes after it was delivered. I have never experienced that ever with any other FFL. I have usually experienced places sitting on my gun for 2 days like bums. I have also bought ammo from them and they have been courteous. Will be doing FFL transfers through them from now on.

Dan was incredibly helpful when it came to finding me a particular gun. I had called every single pawn shop and gun dealer in town and when I finally got ahold of him he suggested an auction site that I was able to find and purchase from later that same day. Not one of my favorite gun stores. They tend to be on the pricey side and they really wont haggle much - even if you have cash in hand. But they often have hard to find models for sale and if its something you really want youll pay it. If you can. Its my understanding that the owner used to be a used car salesman and I believe it. The employees are friendly enough and the atmosphere is not unwelcoming. Ive bought a few revolvers from them over the past eleven years because I was looking for a hard to find model and Buckhorn had it. Ill do business with them in the future as well. Just understand its all about business. UPDATE (10/13/2020): One thing I failed to mention back in 2015 is that Buckhorns prices are not unreasonable. The prices reflect the market (Boise) and what is current across the country. Being on the slightly higher end of the scale does not mean the shop is price- gouging. Added in the interest of fairness.

I ve stopped by this shop a few times and finally made my first purchase here. I honestly can t say enough how happy I am with my experience at buckhorn gun. I had my eye on a certain compact shotgun that fit my tiny arms nice, it was gonna be my first shotgun so it was a big deal for me so I had to think it over and look around first before committing to it fully, we ll needless to say I was an hour too late once I finally came around to it being the one I wanted. They had sold it an hour before I came back in, and felt bad for my little arms and helped me try different shotguns to figure out what would fit. The fella that looked just like Tom Selleck(can t remember his name sadly, I somehow missed it during our interaction) said hold on, I think I have what you need in the back. He came out with my first shotgun, fit me perfect and had wedges to add in as I got comfortable with it. They sent me on my way with a steal of a deal and some shells to get me started, and he was so patient and helpful guiding me how to hold it right and practice sighting with it. I really appreciate how helpful and patient they were with me, and while I didn t get the gun I originally had my eyes on I walked out with a better deal in the end. Already took it out to practice and love it. Thank you guys!

I have had my gun work on here at Buckhorn and the experience is grate. The guys talks to like you are a person and not a customer they wont see after you leave there shop. I know nothing about guns. I purchased at pump shotgun from Big 5. I did not know how to take it part or clean it. Chris spend about 15 minutes of his time showing me how take the gun part to clean and gave me some instructions on how to clean it. The entire crew at the place was very nice and friendly. They will be the place I go to for any gun questions. They will also be the place where I buy ammo and guns. Thank you for helping a novice. You have a customer for life.

Coming into this shop, I wasnt sure on what to ask and how to handle a firearm puchase. They answered all of my questions and helped me decided on what was best for me. Great gunsmiths and short turn around time. Last year I had them fix/repair a H&R break-top (cira-1930) . It needed a lot of major work! Had it back in 10 weeks and working like a brand new revolver. This year I sent them a H&R 999 (Cira late 60s-early70s) that needed repair. Back in 9 weeks and working great. If you want it done right and with a good turn around time send it to Buckhorn. As a side note I had them ship me 2 hats. One brown and one green. As soon as I opened the box the wife took and green one and said; oh, look they sent you a hat. Again thanks for the great work. Hope to come down and see your store.

In recent days these guys have helped me with an FFL transfer, in store purchase and getting some new sights put on my carry piece. They were fast, friendly and professional. Highly recommend!!

I went in here the other day to see their gun selection. They had a number of mid ranged rifles and several cool (but beat up) Ruger Blackhawks. The young guy who was helping me was great, but the other staff members were uncomfortable to interact with. However, they say they have a gun smith shop in the back and can repair firearms which is cool! I might be back in to see what else they get.

Matt and his Crew at Buckhorn are great. Incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and, most importantly, not intimidating. Even though I m an Idaho Native, I am a complete novice when it comes to firearms. They graciously took the time to show me some of the basics, answer my questions, and gave me good advice about how to learn more. Thanks, Guys!

Excellent service! I went in there last minute and had my rifle sighted in. They had it ready so quick it was unbelievable. Ive bought 1 rifle and 2 shotguns from Buckhorn and all we in great condition and a great price. Any time Ive needed anything within their means they have come through 100%. Thanks fellas!

The guys repaired my Feinwerkbau (FWB) 700 pcp. The job was completed on time, under budget and just like new. GREAT Job. You are still my go to gunsmiths even if it was (just) an airgun

Thought I had a live round jammed in my gun, took it in, 5 minutes later gun cleared and functioning. Price was great! Fast and friendly. Will definitely be going back.

Matt and staff from Buckhorn Gun are Rockstars! I was searching for an attachment for my little brothers wheelchair so he can enjoy his favorite sport which is going to the desert and shooting with the guys. Its so important for his fight against stage 4 colon cancer that has mestatised! Hes a fighter all the way! Matt donated the attachment and a cool hat which is so above and beyond! Buckhorn Gun is about community and Matt brought so many good tears to my eyes. Best shop experience ever.

The staff is always very friendly, even during their busiest days they will go out of their way to give everyone the attention they need and make them feel welcome. After trying to get my Makarov repaired for the better part of a year. Boise Gun Co. went out of business. I selected Buck Horn Pawn due to the gunsmithing reviews on this site. The squib round that caused my dilemma and rendered my pistol inoperable was taken care of in short order. Chis was my salesman and kept me well informed as to the progress of my Makarov repair. Very pleased with the professional and courteous service.

Always friendly staff., and they generally dont give you their opinion unless you ask. Not a bunch of Know-it-alls and there is no pressure to buy. I do all of my transfers there and have had good luck with the gunsmithing done there. Prices are fair and inventory is plentiful.

Very happy with my muzzle brake Richard installed on my 300 RUM. Chris and Richard went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. They genuinely care about there customers and have great service. Will be coming back to have more of my guns worked on. If you need a good honest gunsmith, look here first.

Used them as an approved FFL for a gun i bought online. The staff were rude, arrogant and didnt have time for me. When i tried to return a gun cleaning kit they sold me with missing pieces, i was told they kit was complete and not missing anything, very rudely. Then, the owner suggested that next time i just shop at Cabelas. Obviously, not interested in repeat business, no wonder everyone orders online. Cheaper prices, better customer support. I think they were just annoyed because they tried to sell me the same gun i had just bought online for $110 more. Overall, use them for a FFL pickup and nothing more. He made the $25 fee sound like his was the cheapest in town. And follow their advice, use Cabelas for better service.

Bought an old Remington 760 with some weird scope and side mounted scope mount on it for a decent price, took it to the range and had problems with really stuck cases during extraction. Took it back and theyd said theyd fix it, gave them a few rounds of ammo of mine to test it with. Just got it back and they fixed the problem, gave me a full box of ammunition, replaced the old rear flip sight that wouldnt stay up at all, removed the weird scope mount (I didnt want it on), and put in screws to plug the mounting holes. All for free. Amazing service.

Came in on a whim while visiting from out of state. Met the owner, manager and a worker. These guys are awesome. Had GREAT conversation and was able to browse through some very fun and unique firearms. They were fair on their prices and made every effort to locate items for me ... Like M1 carbine mahs and stripper clips. Thanks again guys

Ive bought a few things from them over the years and have no complaints. The prices are okay too. No complaints on the gunsmithing work Ive had done either. The staff has been exceptionally nice to me too. I have been in there when people came in with guns to sell expecting top dollar. The individual wasnt happy and left without selling the gun. Throughout the whole conversation the store owner was very polite and respectful. I continue to stop in periodically and would recommend them.

Use Boise Gun Company. These idiots messed up my 1911 and didnt do the work I asked them to do. How hard is it to polish a feed ramp? This place is a joke. The also price gouged when we had the ammo shortage.

Buckhorn I believe has the best gunsmiths around. All the guys are welcoming and thats why they will continue to get my business when it comes to working on my guns. As for the guns they sell they seem a little pricey. I take my purchases somewhere else.

Rude and unpleasant employees. Well the employee was nice enough, the manager was another story. Told me the item I wanted to sell he could buy, new, for 200 dollars all day. I know for a fact that isnt true and he chose to continue to lie to me, saying that he couldnt pay me more than 150 dollars. Flat out lie. He had a comparable item in the case for 699. I called him on his lie and he told me to leave. Went down the street to Boise Gun Company and got 350 dollars cash in 15 minutes.

My husband and I have been in this shop hundreds of times. We have never ever had a complaint about owner or an employee.. They are willing to answer any queestion and I disagree about with some other review people about being being able to discuss pricing. Besides being a good gun store, their gunsmiths are outstanding and quick. Love the store, employees and their work.

Took in an old lever action 22 my father passed down to me. The lever was stuck and I foolishly attempted to fix it. Despite bringing in a plastic bag of parts and screws the guys cleaned up the rifle and put it back together quickly, professionally, and without laughing at this novice for a fair price and faster than they promised.

This place is on the low end of gun shops in Idaho list for me although I still look there when Im looking for something specific. You can probably get the same gun cheaper somewhere else. They have a poor layaway policy, they dont give much on loans, and when it comes to haggling they dont really do it. I have bought 3 guns from them over the years because if they are the only one with the gun you want, well you kinda have no choice. SKS and AKs are still overpriced from back when Obama made the gun scare.

Bought my Glock 19 9mm here, my new 1911 45 ACP, and now a Benelli 12 gauge shot gun. These guys are amazing. They took the time to educate me on the ins and outs of all of these guns when I was trying to make a decision. I even took a gun I did not buy there to have them show me how to take it apart and clean it and they went above and beyond on taking the time to explain to me how the gun comes apart, what to oil and how to reassemble it. If you are new to guns these guys will go above and beyond to take the time to educate you prior to and after your purchase. I highly recommend them!

Do not sell to or buy from these people, I sold a used pistol to them, they told me they would only get 500 for it so they couldnt go above 350. That sounded reasonable so I accepted the offer. I went back a few days later looking at shotguns and they had the pistol I sold them priced at 800. Ive sold to other shops in town Boise Gun Company and Impact Guns and always got a fair deal, I stopped by Buck Horn because they were closer to my home. Never again
