I was a member of LGE for over 14 years. But for the past several years I had switched to using Georgia's Own as my primary financial institution. When I switched I had left several hundred dollars still in my savings and checking account at LGE for a "rainy day". Imagine my surprise (and my disdain) when I went to close my account only to discover that LGE had stolen my money from my account in the form of charging me an "inactivity fee". This is something I would expect Bank of America to to. Certainly Wells Fargo. Maybe even Truist! But a credit union? I have been using credit unions for over 30 years and this is the first credit union I have encountered that has the balls to charge an inactivity fee to its members. So be warned before you sign up an account here. LGE is more like a bank than a credit union in many ways, and do yourself a favor and check out Georgia's Own where at least they treat you like a member instead of a mark.

I had never been to this branch before and needed to deposit some money. I was bummed to see there was no drive thru area but when I walked inside, everyone was extremely kind. It was 4:30pm on a Friday so I was afraid they may be annoyed, but they walked me through how to use the machines and were extremely personable. I thought I should leave a positive review as I saw the ratings before I went and feel my experience was worth sharing! I only put 4 stars because the lack of drive thru options but customer service was great :)

I’ve never called the members number and the first time I need help I get Horrible service. 30+ year customer with LGE who can’t use mobile app due to their incompetent IT department. In the past two days, I’ve spoken to 6 different people in customer service, Reps and Supervisors only for them to say they will call me back, doesn’t happen, or you get disconnected and they make no attempt to call you back. I asked for the CEO, Chris Leggett’s, number and no one knows it either. Isn’t that convenient. Time to move my accounts.

This is your grandpa’s bank. Nowhere you want to bank if you are a young person and know how to use the internet. On top of that they are horrible with customer service. I had my account frozen due to my car payment being past due as my husband and I lost our jobs. Well, our one year old got pneumonia and they would not allow me to access my own money via debit card or atm withdrawal until I paid the bill. So there I was with a sick baby unable to get him any medicine because I could not access MY OWN MONEY. I do not want to bank with any bank that says they can’t help in a dire circumstance such as sick baby. I was repeatedly told there was nothing that can be done. I will be closing my account and so will my father and my brother. LGE has shown us where they stand. I’d rather go bank with a large corporate bank where the customer service is good and the EFT transfers don’t take forever. On top of all of this the app is terrible and NEVER remember your device when you login. The interface is slow and the design is outdated.

Tracy, Jasmin, Shana, and Loree were great!!!!!! I stopped in to pay my car payment and the laughs we had about life, etc we re great. The energy and customer service was so wholesome. I ll definitely be back, even if it s just to say hi when I m in the area.

Any business that uses your patronage as an excuse for 3rd parties to call you repeatedly to solicit your business should be avoided at all costs IMO. Save yourself a lot of aggravation. Ive dealt with having a third party using my membership with LGE to call my home repeatedly saying they were responding my request for Medicare information (a lie) to LGE continuing to accept automatic loan payments and putting them in the LGE savings account after the loan was paid off (and saying they wouldnt accept additional money on that satisfied loan), and a lot inbetween. Ive closed my account to say the least.

I am an established member for over 10 years and all I wanted to do is add my son to my account. I filled out all the information except for my employer and how much money I make. I emailed customer service with copy of my license and my sons license to have all that information and they declined adding my son to my account! This is ridiculous saying that the form wasnt completely filled out! You do not need my income nor my employer I am already an established member!!!!!!

I have been with LGE for 7 years. Never had a problem . Until two weeks ago when my account had fraudulent transactions and LGE wants me to pay it back like I m some sort of criminal. THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT!!!! I can t open another account until that one is paid off smh when it wasn t even my fault. When the account is paid off I will NEVER bank with them again

Aura saved my home purchase. Due to huge number of issues with an online bank I have an account at, I thought there was no way my fiance and I would be able to close on a home in time. He has an LGE account but I did not. The online bank was not helping me and I thought, you know what, Im going to go to LGE and see if they will help me. And help me they did. Aura took me into her office and helped resolve the issues with my online bank. They were lying about something that prevented our money being put in his LGE account. Armed with this new info I called back and got my money out. Unfortunately they transferred to LGE in my name not his. I worked with Aura again to resolve this. I really felt that she cared about me and wanted to help. It was much appreciated in my time of need.

Super unhelpful. They misplaced my money and said it would hit my account Tuesday. I have to wait 4 more days to get my money that they placed in the wrong account. I honestly think they just don t want to work on a Friday. It is now Tuesday and my money is no where to be scene. Super unprofessional bank. I ve called them 4 times day and revived no help. They told me it would hit by 2 o clock .. nope. Called back and they said my paycheck should hit my accountable at 5pm . Nothing. Called back and they said they are closed and I will have to wait.

I have had an account with this back for almost 20 years and I ve been considering canceling my account for a couple years. I ve had discussions about this bank with several people and we ve all came to the same conclusion that this bank is built upon systemic racism and harassment of African American people. Every single time I have a dispute or issue I basically have to do everything you can think of to get my money back. They have the worst customer service, especially Shelly Breeden, Katie Dillard and a woman by the name of Kayla from the Marietta or Acworth branch. It s sickening and I m tired of it.

I recently applied for a loan online. Instead of a signature loan I incorrectly applied for a quick cash loan. When the loan agent, Jonathan Padgett, called me, he explained the difference in the loan I incorrectly applied for and the loan I wanted. He resubmitted my application, called the next day like he said he would and was a huge pleasure to work with. I really appreciated his patience and his calm demeanor. Lisa Reynolds at the Marietta branch has phenomenal customer service! I went by LGE on Friday last week to get a cashiers check and she was AMAZING from the time I walked in until I left. I ve been banking with LGE since 2008, or 2009. I started using it mainly as a savings account, then I used it for a few loans, and a home refinance. After a timing mistake on payments, my account was locked out from online access and I was required to go to a branch, which is very difficult because of how much I work and how far the branches are from my house. I finally got to the bank, and straightened everything out. I was told my online account would be able to be accessed. When I got home, I called and tried to reset everything to access it. Then I was told that it was locked out and that I needed to contact someone. Appariently my wife didn t make the house payment so I paid that. Everything is current and me and my wife have a new budget to make sure everything is paid on time. I called to pay on a loan and to figure out why I still can t access my online account and was told that I needed to go to a branch to gain access back to my account. I ve been dealing with this for months and I m sick of it. I had the impression when I joined, that LGE was an outstanding credit union. I never had issues before, until these last few months. I can t give them money. I don t understand why it s so difficult for me to give them money for my account. If anyone wants to randomly put money on my account. Be my guest! Why am I having these issues? I can be reached during any banking hours. Preferably before 3:00. Edit: they have resolved this issue, and have been good in all except for this incident, so I m upgrading to 4 stars. Their rates are good and customer service isn t bad. I d recommend them for the structure of the business, which is very nice.

Contacted them inquiring on membership. Told them I wished to open a 5 year CD for what I consider a meaningful amount. Informed them I would also be opening an additional CD within a month....same substantial amount. They could not immediately confirm my membership eligibility based on my county of residence. I was told numerous times, I would have an answer on this by eod. I never received that call. If a business cannot fulfill such a simple request up front, my confidence in having a satisfying experience AFTER becoming a customer is very low. Based on my brief and limited experience with them, I happily RAN BACK to my previous financial institution and renewed those 2 cds with them. Im at least pleased that they revealed their TRUE colors prior to me becoming a customer! Look elsewhere.

Beware. This used to be a first-class place to do your personal banking, but not anymore. LGE will lure you in with high-rate checking, low loan rates, etc., but youll end up in endless customer service battles with no resolution to your problems. As a couple of examples: (1) I never received a response from a credit card chargeback case that I had to send to a customer service email box. I sent the paperwork twice and received nothing in return. $600 loss. (2) LGEs mortgage department didnt record my homeowners insurance correctly twice and opened a new homeowners policy and charged me for it...$2,500 error. It took over 20 emails and phone calls for this problem to get resolved over the course of six months. Skip LGE and go to another credit union in the area.

I would not recommend this bank to anyone. Similar to all of the other reviews that have been posted, their customer service is entirely incompetent. I have called over 12 times over a period of 6 weeks just trying to get them to correct their OWN mistakes and still have no resolution. I would NOT EVER recommend using this credit union. They will most definitely mess something up in their internal processes and once that happens.... well good luck getting it corrected. 6 weeks and counting....

Most employees are mad for whatever reason. I paid off the auto loan early so to at I wouldn t have to deal with this bank anymore.

I have had an account at Lockheed Credit Union for years and was pleased until they did away with tellers AND drive through. Now you must deal with machines first and only receive help (usually condescending) if there is a problem. And there seems to always be a problem. I deal with multiple banks due to work and it delivers the most impersonal service. Will be switching.

I want to be very fair about this. I have used LGE for quite a long time, I believe my account is 10 years old at least. That being said, I am switching to a new bank for a number of reasons. Customer Service: Genuinely very nice people. A lot of other reviews complain about wait times on the phone, and I agree that they are quite long; but LGE is a small operation compared to national banks. They serve less people, for sure, but they also have less staff. From all reports, they also don t treat staff like customer-serving workhorses, which is sorely missing in our society. Customer service expectations are far too high amongst consumers; you don t deserve your call answered right away, especially for a free bank account with no annual fee. I never had a problem with LGE, until I tried to do anything more complicated than making a deposit. It took a month of back and forth on the phone just to add another name to my account. This demonstrated a rather worrying level of incompetence. Utility: My LGE card has always worked and fraud prevention on unusual purchases is easy to resolve through a quick automated system. I did find the decommissioning of the drive through deposit stations counterintuitive in the middle of the pandemic. The online app allows you to manage your account in many substantial ways, so unless you are depositing cash, there is little reason to go to a branch. Security: the utmost concern of a bank. This is where money is stored and handled, therefore security must be top priority and the top consideration for customers. As of now, the security is not there. My account is untouched, but my brother s was drained by hackers, along with many other LGE clients. The bank has presumably patched up the exploit and is working on reimbursing the customers who were stolen from. The bottom line: LGE is convenient and the company has the right attitude and a nice demeanor. As a bank, though, it is lacking a certain amount of competence. Though it is a good company that strives to do the right thing, I simply do not feel that my money, my livelihood, is something that I can trust to them any longer.

I joined LGE because I thought they would be helpful and less hassle than a regular bank. I am closing this account first thing! I have been banking with them for ten years. ANYTIME I have found myself needing assistance from them they make it MORE THAN a hassle. What is the purpose of banking with you, if you cant ever assist me. I have requested several emails from them....never got them. My card declines often with no explanation. I have experienced fraud they said there was nothing they could do . This time my cards not working and apparently NOBODY knows why. I have to wait 3 days to get assistance. I will be closing this account first thing Monday morning and advise you dont waist your time.

My mother passed had to call for pay off on loan no office opened. The associate gave me the amount and took payment. Then started getting notices $1.19 PAST DUE. EVERY OTHER DAY. Called associate said I have to pay $15.07 to pay off. WOW. Then she wanted to argue. I did what I was supposed to do. Then she said manager will call back after they listened to call. Liar Liar is how I took this. For $15.07 you act like this. No way ever recommend this organization to any one.

I am very disappointed in this credit union. I changed from a large bank to a small credit union to avoid all of the fees and receive a more personal experience, only to deal with inconvenience and inefficiency. All of the drive through windows have been closed, meaning all of the customers are serviced by three kiosks inside. Every time I attempt to make a transaction I have issues. I cannot make transfers from one account to another without receiving system errors, and when I call customer service they cannot help me, but say I need to go into a branch. All of the financial processes are time consuming and cumbersome. I have both my personal and business accounts at this credit union. After the horrible experience I have had here, I intend on closing them and banking elsewhere.

They dont have tellers. I parked and walked inside because they didnt have a drive thru teller. There were to machines as tellers and they didnt work. If I wanted to deal with a machine I would have gone through the atm. And on top of that the didnt work. I put my card in and it spit it out saying I didnt have an account. So I had to go through the atm to deposit cash, it took several time for it to take all my cash. This is why I went to a bank with people not a machine. If they are no longer going to have people there to help me I will bank somewhere else.

Absolute worst experience with a bank that I have EVER had. DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM THIS CREDIT UNION. If you are at a car dealership (like I was) and LGE is presented as an option, CHOOSE ANOTHER LENDER. I purchased my vehicle and immediately started paying my loan off. I paid my loan a month in advance AND added extra funds. When I went to trade my vehicle in, I checked my balance online and added money to the payoff amount just to be safe. When I called to get my full account number the penalty for me paying my loan early was almost $500.I asked LGE why such a large difference. It was because I was a month ahead in my payments. So I had to write the auto dealer a check. Also DO NOT GET GAP INSURANCE from LGE. I was told by the dealership that if I traded the vehicle in, I would get a pro-rated refund. I called LGE and I was informed that it is refundable only if you trade/cancel within 60 days of purchase. I would have liked to been told that up front. In both instances, not once did anyone offer to help, make an adjustment, or help in any way,. I just got: sorry that is our policy.

ATM malfunction, cleary this is common with them, which means I can t get my own money out of my account without a days worth of paperwork and correspondence explaining how THEIR machine malfunctioned and deducted money from my account when I went to make a withdrawal but then did not dispense the cash. Customer service representative was not helpful whatsoever in resolving. I am now going to have to find time today to go into the branch which defeats purpose and convenience of an atm. They should credit my money, than deal with their machines, no questions asked...if they find that I am lying (which I was indirectly accused of) than they could take further action, they can cleary see by my account history and information I have been a loyal customer.

Buyer beware of the extended service contract company LGE sells through their auto loans. They are a rip off company. Spent $3400.00 on a warranty to have first two claims denied. Loan officer said it was a 5 yr 100K mile bumper to bumper warranty. Theres more exclusions then parts covered I can assure you. Hard to believe LGE sells their product.

Went to the kennesaw branch at lunch today, was next in line with two drive thru lanes open and it still took 15 minutes for me to pull up...then it took another five minutes to do my cash transaction.. it was my lunch break and it totally ruined my lunch..Seems like there is no sense of urgency at this branch..

We were really excited to join LGE a few years ago, but Im so disappointed with their service in the last couple of years. Sadly they rolled out an entire system overhaul...did away with tellers and switched to ATMs, rolled out a new online and mobile system, etc., and it is horrible. Stuff doesnt work - not intuitive and prone to error. I seriously have trouble trusting a bank whose digital presence doesnt work. Zero customer service - they added Apple Pay, but not Google Pay or Samsung Pay...when I inquired, most branch staff didnt even know that Apple Pay was an option, let alone know how to suggest adding other features. Im shopping for a new banking community. Any recommendations?

I have been a member since 2008 and LGE service has steadily gone down. As others have mentioned, if they lock your card for fraud prevention and you are out of town good luck getting someone on the phone to help. I was without use of my card for 2 days because I couldnt reach anyone to lift the hold. Also, I have tried to deposit my a check through their online banking site and its doesnt work, so I tried the atm and again it didnt work, so my wife tried depositing the check and they said I had to be the one to do it. Dont worry about LGE, I will deposit at my new bank.

The worst Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Every single person that works here is extremely rude and incompetent. The credit union only looks out for itself and tries to screw over its customers in every way shape and form! Do NOT bank here.

They charge $50 for they credit check during the loan application. The application includes a drop down list including rental properties as a option. The next day the loan officer will call you and say they dont do rental properties, thanks for the $50.

Sadly, they have become a big bank. Just get stranded for 2 days with out access to money because they are no longer a part of the shared branch network. Read the fine print on the checking/saving. Might as well be at a big bank. Very disappointed!

Sadly disappointed in the lack of customer resolution. My account went into fraud alert after several stops on an over night trip to Charlotte. Be aware if your card is lock and fraud prevention says there is nothing they can do, there is no customer service from Saturday 1 until Monday at 9. Even though I have made several small trips over the last 3 months and not had an issue, they made me feel as if it were some how my fault because I did not let them know that I was leaving town over night. After fraud prevention told me my card was good to use it was declined at a restaurant after 20 minutes on hold, we were forced to speak to the manager so we could settle up the next day. There is more to this story.. Does this sound like a small inconvenience? It only seems fair that as a customer if we make a small mistake we are charged $35 each time, if the bank makes a mistake, we get a sorry?

Waiting for a business loan to be approved for over 1 month. Dont ask for the loan number to deal with them directly and someone will get back to you later that day or the next. NOT!! Been with lge for 19 years. Might be time I take my personal and business accts elsewhere...

Have been a member for over 10 years. Have had multiple loans and credit cards with them over the years. In the past they had been fantastic. However, things have changed for the worst. Member loyalty means nothing, and you are treated the same way as you would by any regular bank - had some issues with overcharges by a merchant on an LGE account that was not being used regularly, resulting in multiple transactions of less than $2; each of those brought on a $30 fees from LGE, or a $60 NSF fee. On top of that, I had opted out of overdraft protection multiple times over the years!!! After multiple attempts to explain the situation, I started getting calls and threatening messages about my account. They would not budge on reducing the fees or helping in any way, even though I provided evidence. Finally, I had enough and pulled the plug on this one-sided relationship. There are many, many better CUs out there, and LGE is not nearly the best option. Im also making sure to tell at least 20 of my friends about this institution. In the long run, theyll lose much, much more from negative word of mouth, than from reversing a few $30 fees...

I came here to to get an auto refinance and the employees could not have been more pleasant. The process was a little time consuming (considering all the paper work, credit check, refinancing, etc.) but very smooth nonetheless! Thank you Cindy and Jared!

Melba on the phone line for account services was very helpful. LGECCU is a great banking institution. The newer online system had its quirks but overall I enjoy banking with them. I wouldnt have stayed the past 7 years if they werent as good as they are. Much better then my old bankCHASE as in CHASED me away..

I have been banking with LGE for about 20 years at least. I used to also utilize a bank (Bank of America) but I will stay with my credit union. The people are friendly and you get to know people because they have been there for years and that is very comforting. I was very sad when they put the tellers behind the wall. I understand it is for their safety, or at least, that is what they were told to say but I could see the writing on the wall. I am very dismayed that Credit Union plans to get rid of tellers to use machines. Did it ever occur to the powers that be that customer service is more than doing your transaction and leaving? It is refreshing to see a smiling face and get a greeting and have that human interaction. I have contemplated going to another credit union that has human tellers. I would hate to sever my relationship with the credit union but I like working with tellers. Otherwise, I could just go to the ATM.

LGE Credit Union has taken care of my banking needs since the late 70s. They have seen me through young years and have always been by my side throughout helping my dreams come true with my business needs. I have always had a good experience with this bank. Always helpful, never wasted my time. Their schedule can be annoying but every bank has inconvenient hours for anyone who works. I wish they could do something about that but as far as service, competence and getting the job done to help me as best as possible, A+!

Worst Credit Union Ever. I have bank with this company for many many years. Every year it appears to get worse. First they eliminated visual tellers. Now they nickel and dime the hell out of you for non atm withdrawals if you dont swipe and use the card so many times a month. God forbid if your card number is stolen. More hoops to jump through to prove it wasnt you. One lifetime courtesy pay waiver. I thought the big banks were bad. LGE is right in line with them. Poor customer service, you cant get help on the weekends, dont even waste your time calling. If you want to speak with someone send an email you may get a timely response. LGE sucks!! They should call themselves Bank of America. The one star was selected just to post. NO star is a better answer.

NOT GOOD EXPERIENCE. LGE Community Credit Union gave free Tropical LIP moisturizer. It has Oxybenzone, Octinoxate chemicals. Its dangerous to health and may cause cancer too. Serious vomit, health issues happened. *If you are an employee of LGE Community Credit Union, Please bring this concern to your management.

BANKERS BEWARE !!!! The teller named Morgan is a thief she might as well be a magician how quick she stole my money and the bank manager could be in it so make sure you check and double check your money before passing it across the counter ! Who knows how long theyve been doing this and to how many people theyve scammed over there. I will be filing a complaint.

My card card was hacked at a place I used it. Lgeccu was on top of it. Card canceled, new one printed and money returned to account in the same day. This is why I have been with LGECCU 10+ years. Good job!

The employees are great!. Very friendly... Their ATM is always broke or not working!! And do to my weird hours of work I am not always off in time to go inside to deposit money into my account. This really upsets me. I use a uber i need money on my card EVERYDAY... Fix it!

I have been with LGE Community Credit Union for over 10 years. Since then I received my first credit card, signature loan, and car loan through them. I wouldnt go anywhere else! They have great interest rates. The staff is friendly. And the newer branches have teller machines. I highly recommend this credit union to anyone!

I have been banking the LGE formerly Lockheed Credit Union since 1997 (17 years); my experience has been a very positive experience. I pay my bills on time, Im not late, I am a responsible individual who maintains excellent credit. Fees are extremely low as well as interest rates. For those of you who dont keep your credit rating in check, go ahead and go to Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, etc. and see what kind of interest rates you get! Customer Service at LGE is much more personal than at the big name banks. If you want to be just a number go to the big banks, if you want real home town banking with great rates, low fees, and great customer service, go to LGE.

Horrible bank! Ive had my bank account for 2 years and I have recently had so many fraud charges on my debit card. They have no fraud prevention what so ever. They send me a new debit card probably every month because of this. Their excuse is We cannot control what happens to your money. When I opened my account with LGE, they told me I would not ever have to worry about fraud charges because they call you and make sure it is you making the transaction. They have never called, & I have had over $500 in fraudulent charges in the past year, making me get a new debit card every month and filling out more fraud forms than one person should.

This review is not specifically for this LGE location, however the location I did go to did not have an area for me to review and this is the headquarter location. Ive been a LGE member for years, and the location on Commerce Park Drive is a very nice location and Ive never had any issue with it. However I work in Roswell area and this review pertains to the location at 1010 Mansell Road Roswell, GA 30076 On particular day I needed to withdraw cash to give to someone I know and it was an odd increment. I do not carry cash, ever - who does anymore? You go to a bank when you need to handle your cash. Im stopped by a woman and told to use the ATM, I explain its an odd increment and she simply tells me Oh, we dont carry cash, youll need to use the ATM. Sorry. What kind of bank does not carry cash? Are you kidding me? I could have saved myself my lunch break and went around the corner to the gas station and used an ATM there. Do not ever go to that location if you ever have to deal with cash, because apparently this bank doesnt understand the concept of cash.

Ive been with LGE for almost 5 years. I opened an account during college at SPSU solely based on location but its proven to be to be the best banking experience Ive ever had. Before LGE, Id been thrown around by 3 banks (regions, wachovia and BoA) and after a flustered bank conversation with a friend, I learned of LGE. You cant beat their 1% high interest checking (was 3% back when I opened!) and their over draft forgiveness is amazing when I slip up on the budget. The best part is the speed at which I can deposit a check- quickest has been in and out of the branch in just at 1 minute, and the slowest (peak time around ~4:30p or lunch) it still only took around 7 minutes. If youre tired of banks and their shenanigans, Id highly recommend you check out LGE. Not only will you be supporting a great company, but youll never have the worry of bad banking again.
